[Music] early start this morning up about half five-ish headed to the airport got on the flight from Gatwick it's never exactly an easy journey with my family we had a bit of a lava with a hire car mum booked it from the Marseille train station it's a hit so I've ended up getting another hi Phelps bit tight bit small for the amount of people we've got coming this weekend that was shouting are you avoiding me up and yes great advantage I was then ported job directing I'm not good co-passenger I'm better at being driver [Music] so just got to the hotel I'm about 25 minutes from the circuit we'll go to the track later I'll have a chat with my engineer Neil so we do a track walk and then get ready for testing tomorrow for a [Music] most of the prep to be fair has been done away from the track just going through a few things about any changes they've made to the track if they put bollards in different positions or the curbs are at different heights [Music] taking a while because this tracks quite long and back straight uphill now we go right where they've always again now and then you go along into the long right-hander yeah so we're at forward cards now you can see in the background we just just done our track oh I have a look at the car the car looks really smart now it's all liveried up so I feel like in a good place we ready for the weekend and it's gonna be gonna be a cool first race weekend of the year well I'm putting my kit on and then you start to get into the zone of it more I'm at the track ready to kind of rock and roll but it's not really until you're jumping in the car for the first time that you really get that sort of buzz we know that you're about to head out on track and a weekend starts from here [Music] pester the crust is really all about just learning and improving up what package we've got we want to improve the set up so we'll be trying lots of different settings on the car to hopefully give me a better understanding and feeling within the car and all of that is going to help us so quickly although we just compete in Europe it's an International Championship I've got my teammates happy who's from Japan Nikolay who's I'm from Denmark and Christian who is from Brazil Sethi he's picked up a lot of English I try to help them out along the way with the key English phrases so qualifiers where it all really starts account is where all the work that's gone in previously to that shows [Music] we have a technical issues we really didn't get to show our pace at all and so because that we ended up p19 all the hard work the boys are putting I really wanted to go out and just be like yeah it was worth it guys was look where we are now so I want to go out pretty angry [Music] after I've had sort of 10-15 minutes to to calm down and and kind of get over it I was just focused on the race there's nothing I could have done about it so there's no point keeping your focus on that do this we had a really good start made up a few places in the first lap and from that point onwards I seem to get into a bit of a rhythm where I was just on to the next car I will take him on to the next car that was one of my mindset I'd say my race for a French Open that race I mean I started p19 a finish p10 so I made up nine positions that would choose the most out of any of the other drivers [Music] [Music] it's been a bit of a tricky one it was our first weekend in the in enduro formula there's a lot of positives to take away into the next race weekend just got a hook qualifier now but the team are famous thanks to Carl and they've done an awesome job and hopefully next round we had to get on that podium
