yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we've come to America to help promote zombie racing coming back and we'll be Austin Texas next year with the chance to bring the car here and to put some laps with Tom Cruise who's anyone who's followed the movies although he's you know got a lot of track experience and it was a opportunity for him really to just find out what a former one car can do is the only thing that's different from normal performance cars is having a clutch on the wheel but it literally is just like a more of a clutch release - clucks gently like you would in a motorbike and it should you just cover it good the thing all idle about six I would just literally be having like a millimeter - throttle when you jump in there before you move we'll just sort of see it right feel the thought or lean against it because the AIDA love the engine is about 6,000 rpm rates aiders up negative donors on that so and if in doubt has to walk you you're in it will display there very simply one to six your hands should never leave the wheel and they should only ever be upshift and downshift everything else is then just down to your feet so in many ways it's very straightforward because you'll just be watching the road and instinctively you're but I'm after off the bottle when you're going down so long when you're going up for someone that it's so you know skill than just main career he's able to take in information and very quickly then go and replay that on the racetrack [Music] they're having a chance to talk to Tom - on the day he's been to a lot of tracks and then a lot of laps so he's got the visual he understands about you know how you take a car around the racetrack [Music] filled up nice and slowly get a fuel for the car the hand clutch all of those sorts of things which are unique to Formula One and then fill the speed [Music] for the minute lap see he actually did it was remarkable how quickly he got up to speed yeah I've been nude oh and I'm not being aimed here but I could do it out if you really wanted to put some serious aim into driving those types of cars you know with a few days of proper running he could be running some really good times [Music] the impressive thing was he went off the track but you know just remarkable he had the presence of mind to keep the car running the engine running and he got back on track and drove it back to the pits [Applause] you could definitely see it on the confidence building but your approach was exactly the right approach which is lap by lap run by run tried fifth gear try fourth there [Music] [Music] Tom's office even over there done several laps in the Grand Prix car built up the speed had an excursion but still needed some more adrenaline so you know he did a loop in the helicopter which I've never actually done I'm not sure I wanted to do it quite frankly but you know all the day's work for someone like that right there just put your fork for speed up there you go now do a roll here he goes pull her up go flip it over back on the collective back up again nice okay now it's gonna loop okay over back down again [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] are you gonna I got it thank you that is fun [Music]

Pretty stark contrast to the time where Richard Hammond drove an F1 car on Top Gear. Though I have heard people say he played up the difficulty a little bit for the camera. I wonder how true that is.
