Pastor Shane Willard - Healing in His Wings

or we say shane come please come come and speak with us because he's an amazing friend to our house love you to stand to your feet give a big welcome to stage pastor shane willard thank you very much thank you shane thank you everybody you can be seated uh so good to be here with you if your type likes following actual bible we're going to start in numbers chapter 15 and um it's so good to be here with my friends at uh impact church and um as always an honor and privilege and any time i speak if you're new here and you've never met me before this i want jesus to get bigger i want the cross to work better i want the resurrection to be central i want scriptures to get bigger not smaller i want you leaving today with more questions about scripture not less and i want us to understand the bigness of christ so um so i'm so glad that you chose to be a part of this and for everybody watching online we love you and thanks for the opportunity to let me open the bible um in your living room or wherever you are uh today and for you as well we want jesus to get bigger the cross to work better the resurrection to be central scriptures to get bigger um not smaller any time you open the bible you want to ask at least two questions one what happened and two more importantly what's happening in me right now because of what happened um as always afterwards we do have a small table set up in the foyer area with our resources i only brought the new stuff i've done in the last two years so it's an audio and video and the reason we do that is because we live with a conviction that we're not simply called to go to heaven when we die we're called to bring heaven to every place we see hell here so a hundred percent of the profit we make from that we give away to the poor and the afflicted we have three children's homes in china that look after children with mental disabilities and we have a rescue home in cape town that gets girls out of sex trafficking off drugs high school educated and job trained so we can do our part to break the cycle of poverty in the cape flats right so that's out there now the only thing i would ask is that if you don't want anything god bless you i'll see you next time um considering i have an open platform right so next time i'll i'll see you um but if you know you're going to get something if you would do that first this church has an amazing culture of community and table fellowship which i probably should minister on that at some point because it speaks into the the shul khan the table and so and i really love that about your church um and so but because you know i don't want robin to have to stand there for an hour when it could be done in 15 minutes and then we could pack up so if you know you're going to get something if you could do that first and then enjoy your table fellowship that would be well that would be awesome all right so let's start with the scripture all right so let's ask what happened and then let's ask what's happening in me right now because of what happens i want to read you something this is uh this is from numbers 15. check that out come on man how cool is that um this is numbers 15. and what we're going to find out in this passage is god is evidently he's into fashion this is what it says and the lord said to moses speak to the israelites to say to them throughout the generations to come you're to make tassels on the corners of your garment with a blue cord on each tassel and now obviously if i was to say i want you to make tassels on the corners of your garment your question would be why well evidently you need them to look at you will have these tassels to look at and so you'll remember which seems to be a theme now that not to forget to remember so that you'll remember all the commands of the lord that you may obey them and not prostitute yourself by chasing after the lust of your own hearts and eyes then you'll remember to obey all the commands and will be consecrated to the lord your god for i am the lord your god who brought you out of egypt to be your god for i am the lord your god he says i want you to take tassels and i want you to attach them to the corners of your garments and the reason i want you to do this i want you to have something to look at that humans need a tactile reminder of what's important and one of the best ways to do that is is to put it on our clothing or so this was this is a a garment that they would have worn and i i brought it to show you as an illustration of what's going on here in numbers this is a a garment they would have worn and this is the uh the tassels that they would have attached to it and essentially when they wore them they would just wrap the tassels around their hands like so so that they would remember essentially this was the original what would jesus do bracelet this is the this is the original um idea this is the original cross around the neck now can can what would jesus do bracelets just be pointless pieces of string around our wrist yes for some people it is but for some people they put that around their wrist to remind themself how we treat someone when they cut us off in traffic matters how they treat how we treat the waitress when she's taking too long to take our order that actually matters right how how we treat our husband when he leaves his underwear on the floor for the 18 000 time that matters right how we how we treat our wife when she does something that disappoints us that that that matters how we treat somebody that's frustrating us to know in that matters and so in some way a cross around the neck can just be a jewelry choice but in some way it can be something that actually reminds us and helps us remember wait a minute if he could act like that facing that level of injustice how can i be empowered by that to treat other people kindly even when they don't deserve it and in numbers it wasn't the cross around the neck because it hadn't been invented yet and it wasn't that what would jesus do they didn't know his name it was it was tassels on the corners of one's garment now there are some key words in this that that we're going to have to to learn so i'm going to teach them to you now the first word is the word kanath now kanaf is a word remember in ancient hebrew there's only eight thousand words today there's a lot more so one word had to mean a lot of different things right so kanaf could mean corner it could also mean the border of a garment you could see that quite easily that the end of a garment could be a border a hem of a garment which is a more common term today like that's the end of that's the end of the piece of clothing it's a hymn or it could also mean wings let me just let me show you i mean this is going to take some coordination we're gonna say hang on so they would wear the garment like so and then they would take the tassels and they would attach it to their hands like this and so they would remember these things now can you could see where the word kanoff could start to mean wings the the wings of a garment so the first word is kana the second word is the word talit now because this is the most important word i'm going to teach you today i want us to say that with some go impact gusto okay the word is to leap let's try that ready go to lee let's try that again go to lee now talit is literally a garment but as most words have a literal meaning and a symbolic undertone talit was a garment but it was also the presence of god symbolically here's why this was a scale model of the veil that separated the holy place from the holy of holies right they made it look exactly um like it even to scale it's sort of like this how many men in brisbane want to drive a ferrari all of them how many of them can actually afford to drive a ferrari none of them so what men do is they buy little scale model ferraris and they put them grown people buy little scale model ferraris and put them on their mantle because something inside us goes a little part of me owns a ferrari that that was this that the veil that separated the holy place from the holy of holies was only available to be passed through by one guy one time a year but everybody wants a part of the presence of god and so they made little scale models and said here hey wear it and you see that imagery all over scripture put on the garment of praise in new testament where christ where christ put on christ like they they talked about christ like clothing where'd they get that from this it was it was the idea of of the the idea is is you can't organize your life where god is here but not there that god is with you everywhere you go everything you do everything you say god is with you everywhere you are that means everything you do matters because everything is spiritual and they would remind themselves of this with the talit it was that it was wearing this everywhere you go so you got kanav which is the corner you got talit which is the garment itself but it but it really means the presence of god and then the third word that's going to come back later is the word tame tame means unclean so if somebody was was diagnosed with leprosy in ancient israel they would have to declare themselves unclean so they would walk through town tim hey tempeh tma unclean uncle in other words don't touch me it was the original pandemic it was the original quarantine me you cannot come close socially distanced far from me that was tam a tam a tam a and then the hebrew word for clean is tahor which i realize in english sounds like the unclean word but in hebrew tahor was the clean word so tame was unclean to was clean so so here's here's what they said i want you to put tassels and attach it to the canal of your to leaked now here's why that matters the tassels had all kinds of imagery in it i'm assuming this is the camera going live so i'm going to hold it up for the people at home and then maybe um you can see it right so this is a properly tied tassel as you can see there are five knots in that tassel one for each book of the torah genesis exodus leviticus numbers and deuteronomy in other words in their world it wasn't enough to carry the anointing everybody in some way is filled with the presence of god because you're breathing god's heir you're held together by god's name for by him and through him and for him all things are created and in him all things hold together it's not just who's got the anointing and who doesn't it's how you carry the anointing it's how you carry the presence of god it's how you carry it as attached to the word of god so as the five knots were for the word of god and then the four spaces between the knots was for the name of god it was for the four letters in the holy name yahweh yudh hey vav hey the the name of god was defined in exodus 34. he is the lord the lord he is compassionate gracious slow to anger abounding in love and forgiveness that phrase is quoted all over the scripture most of the time positively like psalm 103 bless the lord o my soul and all that is within me bless his holy name and forget not his benefits who forgives all of your sins and heals all of your diseases why because he is the compassionate gracious slow to anger abounding in love and forgiveness god who does not treat us as our iniquities deserve but gives us mercy that's new every morning that's psalm 103 and sometimes it's quoted negatively like jonah jones is like i knew it i knew you were going to forgive the ninevites i knew you were compassionate gracious slow to anger abounding in love and forgiveness right it's that it's like wait a minute wait i don't like how nice you're being see the whole the whole point of the book of jonah is that god is not nearly as interested in getting your enemies as you are right so sometimes so in other words it wasn't just the presence of god it was the word of god it was the name of god it was how you carry it it was are you compassionate gracious slow to anger abounding in love so you're supposed to look at the tassels and remember your tone that you could be right but be wrong at the top of your voice and my compassion at gracious slow to anger abounding in love and forgiveness am i carrying it the right way so it was the word of god the name of god also a properly a properly tied tassel takes 613 loops six there's exactly 613 commands in other words it was the it was the word of god it was the name of god it was the ways of god but every tassel on earth when it's properly tied comes off with eight strands that eight strands leads to the end in other words the word of god the name of god in the ways of god always end with the grace of god eight in their world is the number of new beginnings fresh starts clean slates an opportunity to write a better story in other words the tassels were attached to everybody the presence of god like i'm anointed okay are you breathing yes in some way you're carrying god's presence but it's not that it's how you carry the presence of god are you carrying it as attached to the word of god the name of god the ways of god the grace of god the nature of god when we fail it's that it's the reminder so what they would do is they would attach these tassels to their hands like wrap them like that so when they were just living their life they would remember god's ways brought me from slavery to freedom god's ways brought me from egypt to israel god's ways brought me from darkness to light god's ways are the best ways for my life so that any time before they send with their hands they had to unwrap god it was a detorant it was to remember you see all of this imagery in the bible once you understand this like remember there's this one time jesus says beware of the pharisees because they wear their tassels too long in other words beware of people who are too loud about how spiritual they are normally not like i've traveled the world anytime anytime somebody says to me hi i'm the prayer warrior here normally not normally the prayer warrior is somewhere praying right i've i've never met a prophet in my life who introduced himself as a prophet the real prophets are the one everybody else is telling you oh my goodness right it's it's that jesus says beware of people who announce too loudly how spiritual they are beware of the pharisees for they wear their tassels too long remember there's this one there's this one time where it says under the shadow of god's wings the word is kanaf does god actually have wings no the ish the issue is not picturing god like a bird the issue is under the shadow of the word of god the name of god the ways of god the grace of god under the shadow of his wings remember there's this one time there's this guy named david and david kills a giant philistine warrior and becomes a national hero and becomes popular with everybody except the king right the king gets jealous of david what we find out in that story is david's a bad man david is like jack bauer on speed dave david is like liam neeson's character in taken right like seriously like bear bring it on right lion come get you some giant philistine warriors bring it right david is a bad bad man but we also find that he's horrible at hiding right when he has to hide from saul it says he went to a cave and 400 people already knew he was there and met him there which leads to this observation bro as good as you are at butt kicking frankly when it comes to hiding you suck right so you find this to be true right so soul is chasing david around the countryside and it says that saul just so happens to need to use the toilet in a cave that david just happened to be hiding in remember the story and it says that david snuck up behind saul and he cut off what the corner of his garment hang on a second if saul's the king of israel what would have been attached to the corner of his garment to tassels he cuts off the corner of saul's garment and he goes out of the cave somewhere saul comes up out of the cave and he reaches to put his garment back on and he reaches for his tassels and he can't find the tassels so david is in the distance holding up the corner of saul's garment and it says saul saw it as a reproach of course he did what was david saying bro i cannot touch the anointing god has given you that's god's pay grade but what i can do is give commentary that the way you're carrying it stinks the high heaven yes you still have the anointing but you've lost touch with your tassels it's that kind of thing once you see it once you see this in numbers you start seeing it everywhere in scripture well an interesting prophecy came about it's in the last book of the old testament it's by a guy named malachi and malachi is telling us how will we know when the real messiah shows up right how do you know who's the true one from who's the not-so-true one and here's the last prophecy in the old testament about how to recognize messiah but for you who revere my name the son of righteousness will rise with healing in his wings the word there is in other words you can always tell who messiah is by whether or not there's healing in the corner of his garment whether or not there's healing in the way he carries the word of god the name of god the ways of god the grace of god the nature of god mark chapter five an interesting story develops around this and a synagogue ruler named jairus this is what it says when jesus said again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake then one of the synagogue leaders a guy named jairus came and when he saw jesus he fell at his feet and he pleaded earnestly with him this is called begging my little daughter is dying please come and put your hands on her so that she'll be healed and live so jesus went with him my little girl's dying would you come pray for her so mark chapter five is all about jesus gonna go pray for jairus's daughter now what's gonna happen next is so ridiculously spectacular that oftentimes we lose sight of the fact that he was on his way to pray for jairus daughter but we can't lose sight of the fact he's going to go pray for jairus's daughter because the whole chapter is about jesus is going to go pray for jairus's daughter so we can't lose sight of the fact that jesus is going to pray for jericho's daughter because if we lose sight of the fact he's going to pray for jesus daughter we're going to miss the whole point of the whole passage even though the next thing that's going to happen is ridiculously spectacular we can't stop there because jesus is on his way to pray for jerusale's daughter so mark chapter five is all about jesus going to go pray for jerusalem's daughter because jared's daughter is very very sick and we can't lose sight of the fact that jesus is going to go pray for jairus's daughter because if we lose sight of that even though the next thing is so spectacular we're going to lose sight of the whole point of the story so it's very important when we look at mark chapter 5 that we remember this whole thing is about jesus going to go pray for jericho's daughter because jerry's daughter is very sick and if your daughter is very sick you'll do anything to get anybody out to see her and so jarius is begging jesus jesus of course i'll come pray so this whole thing is about jesus gonna go pray for jerry's daughter we can't forget that this is about jairus's daughter because if we forget this is about jesus daughter we're gonna miss the whole point of the passage so it's very important that for the rest of this time we remember that mark chapter five is all about jesus going to go pray for g yeah yeah so jesus is going to go pray for jairus's daughter and quite frankly the weirdest thing maybe in the entire new testament happens right jesus on his way to pray for jairus daughter and it says on the way there a lady with an issue of bleeding for 12 years pushes her way through the crowd why so that she could touch the hem of his garment which leads to all kinds of questions like why would she do that and really and now couple thoughts about this one in their world they had memorized every prophecy about messiah so if this guy is who he says he is then there should be healing in his wings that's first second ancient jews read the bible through four levels if you're a nerd and you need to know the name of the four levels it's pashat ramez drosh and suit if you're not a nerd one two three four a pasha is the plainest thing going on so let me explain the plaintiff's thing going on jesus is on his way to pray for jairus's daughter and there's a lady who's been bleeding we i think we can presume it's some sort of female issue she's been bleeding for 12 years and she is out of medical hope and she knows if this guy is who he says he is there's one way to find out that's the pashat the ramez is a hint or an allusion to something and the remeza in this passage is the number 12. like bleeding 12 years really how'd they know that what if it was 11 years nine months what if she kept it private for two years what it's obviously not the point when a jewish writer says 12 anything the jewish audience hears 12 tribes so on the paschat level it's one lady at one moment at one time out of medical options needing healing on a romez level this isn't just about one lady at one moment at one time it's about an entire nation needing a touch from their life leak right so in one level it's like okay there's this lady on another level it's about an entire nation and then on another entirely another level it's actually about all of us so that's oh that's the remez going on to understand what's going on this passage we have to understand those two words that we looked at earlier tamay and tahor in israel there's only two types of people there's tma people and there's tahor people ten man people are the unclean and this is where in the western world we define sin very poorly we define sin as something bad you did okay but in the old testament sin was anything that wasn't perfect let me give you a few examples from the bible of things that are sinful in leviticus it says it's a sin to have dandruff why don't you check your neighbor right now see if they're living in sin right this is why i say you living in sin what i have dandruff yes of course right yeah right it's it was a sin to have eczema it was a sin to have a rash that we don't know about right how do you how do you how do you even live back then like you imagine that if i said listen um we need to get back to the bible if you're here today and you have a rash none of us know about could you just raise your hand so we know not to touch you like it was weird and and tamay was very contagious so if somebody had dandruff they're tma but if i just touched them now i'm tma and it was a way ready i know this is going to surprise you they mastered a way of profiteering on people's spiritual guilt i know i know so what they did is if they can make more people unclean then they can sell more sacrifices at the temple to make people clean which then makes it harder to stay clean which means a lot of money is going to flow off of people's guilt i know we would never do that today but that's what they did back then right now so tim a was very contagious and then religious leaders started making it harder and harder and harder they made the fences even more and more and more like here was here's a couple real ones okay it was a sin to have a period okay that's actually in leviticus it's a sin for a woman to be on her period right but then they said it's also unclean to touch a woman who's currently on a period once again don't know how they live back then if you're here today and you're like on your period could you like raise your hand so we all know then what they said is is it was a sin to touch a chair where a woman on her period had sat in the last three days again if you're here today and you don't want to raise your hand could you leave a note in your chair so we know not that right that's frankly strange right right then they said it was a sin to touch furniture where a married couple had been intimate in the last three days what'd you do put up a sign seriously how do you know that stuff right like i was teaching this i was teaching this at a guy's house one time and he made everybody get off the sofa it's like everybody off sofa right he was 75 right and i was like come on dad really anyway so this taminus was a real problem now let's go back to mark chapter five mark chapter five jesus is going to go pray for jairus's daughter now this lady with an issue of bleeding for 12 years what would she have been considered by people tma right now she's out of medical options there's a crowd around jesus here's the problem how do you get close enough to touch him when there's a crowd now you're gonna like her here's what she does she goes hang on i'm tamay no one can afford to touch me so what she does is she puts her elbows out and she's like excuse me pardon me excuse me pardon me excuse me right right and a path makes way let's stop for a second because western people tend to read the bible for where's the doctrine okay fine but let's read this emotionally for a second if you've been bleeding for a long period of time how are you feeling physically not good there was no advil there was no tylenol parasima tall you just had to gnaw on a ginger root till you felt better okay how did you feel emotionally not good let me give you some cultural realities it doesn't say but her husband would have been given a right to divorce her because it was impossible for him to touch her without becoming unclean himself that doesn't say whether he did that or not but he would be imagine the fear this woman would not have been purposely touched in 12 years and it's not because people were mean it's because they literally couldn't afford to touch her so as she walked into a room people would put their hands behind their back and right you imagine how this woman's feeling right she pushes her way through the crowd she reaches up and she grabs the corner of jesus's garment well hang on a second if jesus is a jew and he is what would have been attached to the corner of his garment tassels she reaches up and she grabs the word of god the name of god the ways of god the grace of god as it is attached to the presence of god and she gets healed what's interesting is that jesus doesn't address the healing he just tells her to go in shalom or go in peace in other words don't make the next husband pay for the sins of the first one don't make the next group of friends pay for the rejection the first group of friends he just says go in peace and he does something that is frankly bizarre by anybody's terms but especially jesus's terms this lady reaches up and grabs the corner of his garment and remember jesus's response who touched me who touched me power has left from me does that sound like jesus to you no that sounds like obi-wan kenobi right that's just frankly strange when jesus healed people normally he said don't tell anyone but not this time this lady reaches up and grabs the corner of his garment and what does jesus do who touched me who touched me power has left from me which is more like luke the force like what is going on here what a strange sort of story and there's all kinds of lessons we could get from it like one of the biggest miracles jesus ever did was an interruption to his schedule which means if god can't interrupt your schedule you might miss some of the best things that could ever happen right like there's all kinds of places that we could just stop and pause and go do you need healing now and but then but you know what if we do that we're gonna miss the point because this whole passage is about jesus going to go pray for jairus's daughter and this lady interrupts the schedule and it's a disaster watch what happens here while jesus was still speaking some people came from the house of jairus the synagogue leader now watch how blunt and rude jesus daughter's dead why bother the rabbi anymore okay first rude right can we all agree with that that's just rude right do you break the news of someone's daughter dying that way josh daughter's dead why even bother the rabbi anymore that's rude second let's read this emotionally for a second if you're jerius what kind of emotions are you feeling at this point one devastation two i can't believe that happened like it would be unbelief third anger at who no not jesus you can't be mad at the lord it's it's you're mad at the lady stupid lady been bleeding 12 years you couldn't wait 20 minutes really like serious like he was on his way to pray for my daughter you stopped the process and now my daughter died you stupid stupid woman you could have lived with your condition for 30 more minutes and then grabbed his clothes later what is the matter with you jericho daughter's dead why even bother the rabbi anymore why would you say that to somebody once again we got to understand their culture see in leviticus it's against the law or it's a sin to knowingly walk into the room where a dead body is in other words you can't know someone's dead in there and walk in there if you do that that's a sin unless you've already been considered unclean by the general public who touched me who touched me power has left for me hey all of you i need all of you to know this lady with an issue of bleeding she just touched me i need all of you to think i'm unclean which is actually the whole gospel in a nutshell right the one who knew no sin was willing to become sin so that the ones who actually have the sin problem can have some peace right it's the humility it's the canonic christ a god that validates his godness by emptying himself and humbling himself and engaging the human story even if it means they consider him unclean who touched me who touched me power hey i need all of you to think i'm unclean why because if they don't think he's unclean they're not going to let him in the room in other words what seemed like an interruption to the schedule and a disaster turned out to be the very thing that allowed him to do the next thing and that'd be true of your life too sometimes the things that seem a disaster are the very thing that makes a way later oh shane i lost my job i lost good now you can start that business you've been dreaming about for years but didn't have the courage to do it get on with it right oh shane they left me they left me good you got a do-over ask your friends they were terrible right seriously sometimes the relational breakup the job loss the betrayal sometimes the things the people leaving your church sometimes the things that seem like a disaster are the very thing that makes a way later right jesus jericho's daughter's dead why even bothered the rabbi anymore they didn't know that jesus was already considered unclean and could get in the room but jesus covers his bases doesn't he remember what he says oh she's not dead she's just sleeping right watch what happens and he went in and said to them why all this commotion and wailing can we agree together that's a dumb question a little girl has just died and people are upset imagine you imagine trying to like why are you so upset um rabbi i i don't know like a kid died right the child is not dead she's just sleeping but they laughed at him and he put them all out and he took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with him and he went in where the child was into the presence of the dead in other words messiah is willing to engage the presence of unclean things so that unclean things can have peace that's the gospel actually later it says when he died where did he go he went to the presence of the dead in hell and he preached to the this is what messiah does right watch this and he took her by the hand hang on let's review for a second because i want you to get this is jesus if jesus is living according to his culture what would have been attached to his hand the tassels second does everybody remember the name of this it's called a tallit let's say that together i told you the most important thing go to leap let's try that again to lead so he goes in and he takes her by the hand in other words in the first part of this story someone gets healed because they're reaching up for god in the second part of the story this little girl gets healed because god is reaching down to her and that'll be your story too sometimes sometimes you'll be touched by god because you're desperately seeking god sometimes you'll be touched by god because god is desperately seeking you even after you're dead and there seems to be no hope jesus was still coming for this little girl watch what he says to her and he took her by the hand and he said to her talit which means little girl i say to you get up but remember what was the tallit in their world it was the presence of god what was jesus saying little girl the presence of god is here it's time for you to get up literally little girl the presence of god get up and that's my whole message for today my child the presence of god is here it's time for you to arise it's time for you to get up but shane i went to i know it's time for you to get up but shane it was my fault i know it's time for you to get up you don't wallow in that stuff you don't live in death forever you don't live in the life leave forever it's tallit ha comb my child the presence of god is here it's time for you to get up no i can't preach this message without making this point because my conscience won't let me okay and that is this it is unwise and irresponsible for us to presume upon the grace and power of god to fix something we could easily fix ourselves right like i think i speak for the leadership here if i don't i humbly apologize it's not my place but i'm pretty confident about this that if you get lung cancer we will pray authentically intentionally and powerfully for god to heal your lung cancer but we would much rather you quit smoking today than need a miracle in 20 years right okay like okay if you if you have a financial problem we will pray with everything we have that god will break through in your finances but we also want to know you're getting up before 10 right that you're bathing regularly that you're dressing well and trying to get a job right in other words if it's within your power to change your life change your life right i mean i don't know if i'm like maybe joyce meyer could i um um how would joyce meyer say it if it's within your power to change your life get off your butt and change your life don't let me come back here and find you in the exact same place you are today if it's within your power to change your life get off your butt and change your life okay or maybe um maybe joel osteen you're a champion god loves you you don't let that devil get in your head and get you all negative you tell him to go back to hell where he came from me and victoria was talking the other day about what daddy you say about y'all and y'all aren't just beautiful people y'all are champions so the next time that devil gets in your head and goes round and round and round and round you just reach deeper down inside of you you become the champion god intended you to be because when life goes low you go high if life goes low you go high whatever love joel i do but here's the thing right if you live long enough there'll be a day you'll take all your medicine and it won't be enough there'll be a day you'll do all you could do to save the relationship and they're still going to leave you there'll be a day you'll do all you do to save that client and that client's still going to go with another business if it's within your power to change your life change your life but when you're at the end of everything you can do that is where there's still healing in his wings it is irresponsible to presume upon god that was the second temptation of christ throw yourself off a mountain because god has such a big plan for you he'll save you remember jesus's response probably but why would i test that when i could just not jump right but there's always that watch what happens here talit hakum which means little girl i say to you get up watch this and immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around that's good news but hang on how old was she she was 12. hold on wait a minute so that lady's been bleeding as long as that girl's been alive maybe they knew each other i know that's not the point on one level this is about one lady and one little girl on another level this is about an entire nation needing a touch from god at this they were completely astonished you reckon and he gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this that's more there you go that's that's more like jesus and told them to give her something to eat why because resurrecting you work up an appetite i don't know anyway my point is my brothers and sisters is that may we all carry the presence of god in a way that's attached to the word of god the name of god the ways of god the grace of god the nature of god may we not just be well i'm anointed okay but how are you carrying that may we be softly disposed may our disposition be that of christ may we carry it with the word of god the name of god the ways of god the grace of god may we take responsibility and do what we can do to change our lives but at the end of it may we also know that there's still healing in his wings thank you so much let me be part of your day let me pray for you that jesus gets bigger the cross works better the resurrection is central scriptures get bigger not smaller [Music] maybe there's there's two questions one is there something in your life right now that you know there's something you can do about and our prayer at that is lord give us the courage to act the
