what is up guys zack scott here playing paper mario the origami king i'm excited to finally be playing a paper mario game on the nintendo switch so i hope you all are too thanks to you guys nintendo origami king here we go isn't this great bro back on the road again together and heading to some kind of festival what did the invitation say again in origami festival what's it going to be like and i can't wait to say hello to princess peach it's been a while it's been a while all right well guys there we go mario and luigi driving together that hasn't happened since double dash mario kart reference okay this place looks intricate wow this is very cool here we are toad town and there's peach's castle [Music] looks big toad town is big big where is everybody you don't think we miss it do you mario check the invitation again when were we supposed to be here you are invited to an origami festival in fabulous toadtown date zero zero of xx speech well it's the right day you think they're still getting these things ready let's go let's go check the castle maybe everyone's inside all right let's go see rev your engines [Laughter] the now the casable is walkable from here surely we don't need to take our cart oh there's a hole in there wait a second what is going on all right the bridge is lowering oof okay i'm a little suspicious of what's gonna happen but the music is a bit ominous but maybe i shouldn't worry maybe everything's going to be a-okay we got classic mario music now it's happy here we are peach's castle [Music] i'm gonna park the cart okay i don't want to tip the valet i don't think there's a valet here there's no one here all right well [Music] sorry for the way bro let's go see the princess all right sure enough we will whoa i didn't mean to do that i was trying to jump i like how luigi jumps with me is he gonna be by my side the whole time who knows anyway let's go over here open this up it's kind of spooky in here isn't it and where is everybody i'd expect to see at least one toad by now not as spooky as luigi's mansion though mamma mia i forgot our gift in the cart i'll just dash over and get it uh uh oh are we gonna get separated oh okay good i mean my bro together okay i don't like that how am i gonna get outside when the door is locked don't worry mario i know just what to do in situations like this you just gotta find mario right mario oh all right well okay i'm just gonna take a deep breath and go find the key to this door that's that's what you do right tell princess speech i'll be right there if you see her first okay bye-bye all little bit always gonna make a flashy entrance huh are you here for the origami festival too this dungeon themed waiting lounge is a huge upgrade from the last festival i attended very classy you ain't seen master bowser anywhere have you it ain't like the big lug to leave us minions hanging at a public event whoa mario you're here i'm a big fan i mean i've always wanted to battle you even if i get stopped it would be an honor wow this is also exciting first i see princess peach and now you i gotta say the princess was a little different than i expected less lifelike the origami come with us oh great yeah what's next i've never seen a toad before please tell me it's a toad all right let's see what we're gonna get ourselves into not you oh great ah i hope you don't have to wait too long mario i'll say hi to toad for ya not me hmm mario is that you who said that i need your help i'm i'm i'm in a very strange place it's cramped and dark almost like i'm in between dimensions or something i don't know who's saying this i'm not sure if i should be amazed or scared but i'm kind of both [Music] if it's not too much trouble i'd like to get out now please is there any way you can help well we'll i'll see about it what was that did something light up at your feet is it a magic circle i think it is a magic circle that's good i think i mean i'm not really sure what you're supposed to do with it can you try to use it somehow yeah yeah 1000 fold arms what whoa what the heck that that sounded good and your arms are all big and foldy now i've heard about this i think those are called 1000 fold arms try feeling around a bit maybe you can help me escape from the strange dimension if it feels like the arms are off center and out of control maybe try pressing r to reset them oh wow whoa this is all based on controller tilt [Music] wow what am i supposed to do all right i can definitely move well yeah i just okay great great that that works except what am i supposed to do with these [Music] okay so i definitely need to do that let me check over here though this is something you got it a hammer excellent uh okay are you leaving it sounds like you're leaving please help me all right i'm not leaving i'm just just hammer time you know what i mean i keep hitting the wrong button huh i guess that was a no there's my hammer there we go all right let's figure out more again what this is all about over here 1000 fold arms okay so i can move these right oh oh there it is there we go oh my gosh now i get it wow i'm free from that weird in-between dimension oh was i just stuck in that wall you must see mario my name's olivia you'd probably like to know a lot more about me and why i was trapped like that huh but i don't think we really have time for that now maybe we should just get out of here they're just one thing i'm not exactly fleet of foot mind if i hit your ride all right go ahead just go into my pocket there we go now clearly i don't think we can go or away at like several things are there gonna be like lots of secrets or i don't know and i can't use my my arms right now what's what's over here that's locked knock knock with a hammer on the door so that's a dead end over there seemingly now these i can hit hey knock it off oh boy i don't like that ow all right what's happening why you little [Music] come on so first ow all right so these are coins that i'm getting let's check that's bowser i can see what you're about to do to my minion and i order you to cut it out uh-oh all we see are the shadows bowser's folded up [Music] uh oh oh they're folding him up too turning everyone into origami [Applause] oh my gosh oh my gosh this is torture what did you see nothing terrifying i hope that was the last of them [Music] oh boy there they go except for the mustachioed one i read it slow because it appears on the screen slow okay maybe i have time to explain one little thing those stiff looking guys are called folded soldiers i don't want to alarm you but they're unbelievably dangerous i think we should try to avoid them what do you think they mean by that was the last of them anyway the last what dude i don't know you you tell me i'm all confused right now just like you can i go in this room there's some fire now just to double check there's like nothing yeah so i would destroy this one and get a coin out of the deal there's bowser mario you're here too well what are you waiting for get me down from this thing even you know this is no way to treat royalty oh nice to meet you is everyone in your kingdom lost to a face i've got a body too those folded jerks just been in ways that i won't describe in detail right now it seemed i i it's seen worse believe me never mind that i am the great king bowser i demand to be set free and unfolded now mario ignore your floating friend and get me down from here bowser command you i will do the same for you you need me as much as i need you a minute plus i can tell you a secret after you free me no one can resist a good secret uh i mean i don't know hey don't just leave me hanging and get me down from here all right come on i know we've had our differences but you've got to help me out here all right all right [Laughter] all right let's pull him no it's like pulling a bandage off halfway uh wow ow ow we got him also freddie's gonna land on the flame and catch fire all right oh kind of thought i'd just unfold or something no matter now as for that secret i promise to tell you there's a hidden exit in this room i heard those jerks talking about it lousy no good body folding jerks now hurry up and find it and i'll let you i'll let you bring me along when you escape take that bowser and jump on him too or seems like i could only pound away with the hammer can i have this uh paper this is this clothespin okay anyway we get the idea coins for me okay here we go we're gonna do our thousand fold arms and oh there we go i'm grabbing this tada where would you be without me happy you're really getting the hang of those 1000 fold arms mario like why thank you uh so off we go and here comes a big big save spot [Music] there you go save complete huh guess that means your adventure up to this point has been saved phew let's make a habit of saving every time we see another one of those shiny blocks okay oh and you'll find all sorts of helpful stuff if you open the menu with plus if you want to try out some other options or need some help check the section of the menu the gear section of the menu okay got it i'll do that later here we go now i will go check i wonder how many secrets are kind of spread out through this or if there are any we'll see though we'll figure it out here we go oh he's he's trying here he's trying here he's slow down i'm walking with my face here nobody makes a bouncer walk without this face i mean obviously they did but they're not going to get away with it whoo all right this place looks pretty nice and shiny all right not shiny but bright that's what i meant to say all right here we are hmm we're now outside okay there's a big door uh oh you can't see me like this why are you still so flat why haven't you joined me in folded glory come we can reshape you patience princess this will do just fine so you're mario princess peach's hero right yes you'll do quite well very crisp bright colors i can see it now so what do you say he says hey i'm crisp over there so what do you say will you volunteer your paper body to the cause or will you have to or will we have to get crumply join us yes or no how about no ah i expected nothing less and to be honest i wanted to have it any other way take a good long look at princess peach she's better this way don't you think no need to answer you'll soon feel the power of origami for yourself folded soldier come forth uh oh two-folded soldier oh and the goomba guy oh no i've never seen a folded soldier like that mario does it look like one of your flat paper friends i never got to see toad creepy prepare to be folded all right wave battle here we go we're gonna fight all right how does this work oh no i'm guessing this is your first time facing folded soldiers mario once these flat paper folds folks have been turned into folded soldiers we can't turn them back it seems cruel to fight them but if we don't they'll try to fold you into origami too i'd help you attack but my tiny arms don't pack much of a punch i don't want to get in your way so i'll cheer you on but you'll have to do the heavy lifting yourself all right so what do we got here whoa line them up what the heck is this and hey did you catch that first message i said something about a wave battle are we in some kind of splash zone it says something about wave battle i guess we'll worry about that when we get to it let's just focus on these enemies for now mario speaking of you're surrounded by four folded soldiers huh where do the other three come from if they all attack at once you'll get a real pummeling this looks rough hey i just had a great idea if you line up all four of them you could jump your way down the row in one attack bop boop bip bam all right cool lucky for us these rings let us move the enemies around and group them together so use l just like which ring you want to move and then press a to confirm your choice there's just one naughty goomba out of place right now let's try and get it over to the empty o alright so this is the one ring move uh confirm okay then we rotate the the ring okay got it yeah go back to where you where you were great lineup attack power up yeah there we go you lined up all four goombas when you group your enemies into a successful lineup like this your attack power increases by 1.5 times that means your attack power will be precisely uh oh gosh i forgot how to multiply by a point um oh whatever you get what i mean your attacks will do more damage so keep lining up those enemies all right great we have boots okay now we can flatten these goombas with a jump attack select your pair of boots using l and press a to begin your attack okay great so we're gonna do the boots [Music] all right start battle here we go mario's turn now do i need to sync it there we go i think i think i get a little boost if i if i time it just right wow those world famous mario jumps don't disappoint you took out all four goombas with a single jump attack see what i mean lining up your enemies is totally worth the effort last wave oh boy okay uh more folded soldiers i guess some battles are gonna have enemies attacking in waves oh i guess that they that must be why this this was called a wave battle up front if you see last wave pop up that means uh that must mean you're the la on the last group hang tough mario these guys are lined up a little differently so show me your hammer attack next all right them up now how does this work your hammer will hit a shorter wider area with one powerful blow okay let's give it a shot those spaces marked with o are showing you where your hammer attack will land it'd be great if you could get all four folded soldiers onto those spaces let's give it a try same as before okay great we got it same as before we're selecting this ring and we're moving them over there great lineup and now they're on within hammering range and they're lined up perfectly so your attack power went up by 1.5 x i'll let you do the math all right so hammer time right now time to switch to the hammer of yours got it switching to the hammer start the battle now i gotta time this somehow that wasn't perfect but you know what i mean did you see that bloop blop i said i don't know i said blue blop ah what a satisfying attack fast flashy and flattening but only if you arrange your enemies into a successful lineup jump attacks and hammer attacks both have their own ideal lineups always think carefully about how your enemies are lined up before your attack okay okay and look at all those coins have 514 coins that's good there they go not so dangerous so you defeated the first goomba bravo i assure you it is far from the deadliest creature in this realm i suppose there's no point in maintaining this charade any longer [Music] brother no it can't be not bad this is dysfunctional says bowser no it can't be i didn't want to believe it could be you how many times did i tell you to stop please you have to stop now why couldn't mario have simply left you in that wall where i put you sister if you stand in the way of my ambition i'm afraid you will not share in my glorious family oh and by the way i am no longer your brother ollie i am king ollie all right king ollie [Music] oh dear by the time i am done all of those miserable toads will be folded the flimsy paper minions of bowser shall be reborn as loyal folded soldiers serving me and i shall fold crease and bend the entire paper world to my whim the birth of a new origami kingdom uh oh he's gonna fold everything up don't do this ollie it's colorful though bowser's not happy are they gonna say bowser are they gonna save all of us wow okay well let's get out of here oh my goodness [Music] luigi's hat where's luigi uh oh well he went to say bowser but we're separated but they took you know the whole the whole town over there not good not good for us oh boy well okay it's saving landed in a forest or something let me out of here all right well now what do i do okay well clearly there's something going on over here yeah let's use our folded arms you need olivia okay let's go find olivia then maybe she landed in a tree next to i'm me knock out all this confetti out of the tree i don't know olivia no idea okay i don't know where she is i thought i would know okay that one's empty that one's empty did i finish up this one let me try the one i came from i don't know where olivia is can i just chop this down what the heck uh yeah i know i need olivia nope okay let's uh let's flatten some stuff here maybe olivia is hiding or i don't i don't know how this works yet okay i keep i keep accidentally going to that menu i don't mean to do that now can i permanently flatten these flowers like what's the deal here i don't know if what i'm doing is is working okay this this seems like a waste of time but what am i doing i don't know where olivia is like it almost seems like i should be able to like chop this tree down or something but it's definitely having me use oh wait i didn't realize i'd go this way never mind my bad watch out unless you can float like me i'd be careful over there mario do you see that huge hole in the ground i don't think you'd like falling into it maybe there's a way to fix it but how hmm oh i've got it catch this thank you the empty confetti bag heck yes did you see the colorful scraps of paper that showered out of the tree when you fell that's confetti everything here is made of paper of course so every little bit of confetti is like a tiny piece of our world that's why i think if you gather enough confetti and sprinkle it in that hole it might just fix the problem all right see that little icon that's urgently flashing that tells you how much confetti you have can you try hitting the flowers grass and trees with your hammer to knock confetti loose and um once you're done it might need rescuing again i might need rescuing again so sorry so yeah so first up okay oh there we go so we're getting confetti filled back up okay fill it back fill it back let's let us fill it back here we go now when it's when it's green is that when it's good so lots of confetti now this is interesting i wonder how much i actually have to get though because i don't want to have to mario i have a feeling you've collected enough confetti by now maybe try heading over to the hole very carefully all right great going back to the hole all right now what you want to do here is kind of close that totally scary pit when you're ready press z r to toss some confetti on it yeah zr ha boosh pow okay got it you don't have to do the sound effects but i think they're kind of fun all right here we go yar boosh pow one more time there we go and i get some coins for that too did it work it sounds like it worked well if it worked this one time it should work every time you find one of these call me optimistic all right all right and time to rescue olivia oh no i hope you won't always remember me for this moment alone mario i remember her for uh finding her in a wall that's what i'll remember her for maybe you can help me get my head unstuck somehow yeah maybe we'll see about it i'm gonna collect some confetti though you know can't have too much confetti seemingly seems like an easy thing to fill up in this game hopefully it stays that way and then yeah it looks pretty good hold on i'm still filling up confetti i don't know how much you want to need but it looks pretty full now now how will i know when it's like mega full you know what i mean like will it get like totally totally full or is is green as good as it gets you know what i mean like right now it's big and green there we go now it's totally full all right let's get you out of here olivia there we go oof woo that's much better thank you all right now where are we there's no one around to ask for directions this could be a problem it seems like all we can do is explore this area a little bit i don't know how much it'll it'll help how much help i'll be but i'm always here to chat if you need uh if you if you press x i'll do my best i don't think i don't think i need to useful item that can restore mario's health anytime oh mario i've heard about this that's a precious adventuring resource it's called an item you should be able to see all the items you've collected by opening the menu with plus and press y and select an item and use it right away how convenient is that i don't need the mushroom right now my you know everything's pretty good i'm still collecting confetti but i don't really need the confetti so let's go over here okay again if i if there's something to collect other than wow i could soak this view up all day long i mean just look at the top of the mountain it's so wait what's that yep that's the outer crust of peach's castle isn't it i saw my brother's streamers wrapping around it lifting it into the air and then it was gone wait there it is see way up on top of that distant mountain it's still wrapped up tightly with all those streamers my brother could still be in there with princess peach whoo he's probably just plodding away i'm going to stop you brother as your sister it's my duty oh speaking of brothers um i saw a green hat falling under the hole where the castle used to be i'm so sorry the green hat was related to your hat wasn't it yes oh i just knew i was right about that hat this is a big problem it might be good to hurry back to where it fell and see what's going on oh and we should look for your brother while we're at it i hope he's okay too okay yeah we'll get the hat and hopefully with my hat we'll come my brother let's save it really quick thank you save complete hey one of these so let's uh fill it up there we go and that gives us coins okay not bad not bad and of course i will uh you know hit some trees and get my bag full again there we go okay and you don't want to fall in those holes from what i am told by her someone's here oh what is this who is it it's a me mario someone with a mustache it's a flat paper person right more coins is the mustache also paper whoa i got a bunch of confetti how can you just do that just whacking things i'm not very green of him nice hammer he's just hitting stuff how can he do that all right always a critic in the crowd what is this this looks dangerous it is dangerous instead of sting i can't look who installed those anyway all right all right i see it i see it just whacking vinson whoa all right i'll take that i don't know how important it is to like always keep my uh my confetti full but it seems like this tree gives me like infinite confetti so all right let's go down here stranger alerts is he one of the mean paper guys no it's not i'm not mean i'm not mean come on you know i'm not mean nice hammer he's just hitting stuff i like all the like the extra flavor text going on here there's a chest up there how do i get up there i do like getting coins i just don't know what it's gonna be before you know how do i get rid of this stuff it's too thick can't do it all right let's see can i crawl in there no i can jump nice is he gonna pull it oh wow what is this what is that huh all right there we go i healed a little bit whoa technically correct bingo okay that's fine okay is it this one there we go okay a shriveled mushroom uh water to return to its original form what the heck all right that was this right nope wrong that's okay so this one and this one i should fill up my bag with confetti i don't really need that though but that's okay okay so i did everything i pulled it ding ding ding and i got a star what the heck give me that what does this do oh hold on can i can i use it here okay this is gonna be it i hope this works all right great what do i get this is a peaches castle collectible treasure nice collectible treasure oh it's cute you should try to collect more of these mario maybe even all of them all right so i got one of them how long does this star last i gotta go i gotta go i gotta go what the heck was that that was pretty cool i'm glad i got it uh that does help me get the treasure i mean of course i i that might be have been the only way to have gotten the treasure let's pull some more that that was working out for me quite well all right let's cover that up a couple hits oh no three of them will do it there you go there you go took a little time that's okay a wilted uh flower a faded fire flower so watering a fire flower you think you'll put it the fire and i don't i don't like this audience this creepy audience here judging me as i do stuff all right we're getting confetti to fill up my bag some coins over here too has he found the spring whoa whoa okay okay what how can he do that i don't know about this uh huh now what good will this do this gives me coins don't give him any hints huh i can't make that that's why i need the spring right because i was talking about like did he find the spring and i'm like i don't know let's try this again whoa whoa it's like a boom box all right here's one more thing this is uh berto berto what what the heck what is happening why is there a birdo here okay oh that broke thankfully okay sure seems like a lot of weird stuff is happening indeed uh but cool weird but cool all right let's uh let's get over here nice hammer thank you excuse me all right oh i need to collect those coins i wasn't expecting coins to be there all right let's cover this up oh there's coins in there too hold up i just now saw them i don't want to fall on those spikes let me go through here and get these coins and let's see what else we got going on this looks important to pull let's do it uh oh oh snap that's all that coming oh what is this oh nice did you see this coming though here we go check this out i'm gonna use my thousand folded arms [Music] what is this what is that a shriveled seed hey see that seems to be shriveled up for lack of water so lots of things i need to just dump in the water or something there's one way one more right four of them holy cow that's a big one [Music] all right a bunch of coins i like that oh here we go fill up my bag thank you or at least i don't know if it fills it up all the way but it seems to fill up a large part of the way now is there any other reason to hit these trees like did i already get everything from them seemingly my bag is now full and now we're gonna go this way oh wow the heck is this i like it i don't know what it is but i like it lots of confetti huh i don't know okay we'll figure this out later most likely oh great this is like a lost forest type of thing oh no okay uh does it feel like we're not really getting anywhere sometimes when the folding gets tough it can take a break to clear up my head i like to take a break to clear my head you know just sit down somewhere nice and flat with a with perfect lighting like on that tree stump all right all right let's just think about this for a second let's just dwell on what's hey who's there not me it wasn't me oh wow you can't sit on old grand sappy's head mister [Music] that's right he's the elder of this forest show some respect he's got twigs older than you [Music] so what if he's been logged by those nasty little toads he's still the man honey nasty little toads all right let's see what's up yes yes oh he's been he's been logged thank you darlings bless your bark yo you young man go back and tell your flat paper friends what a state i meant i've hardly the hard woods to speak let alone learn you some manners hack is he coughing that's right tell him grand sappy no toads allowed so the toads of this oh grand sappy here hasn't been the same since they cut him down oh gosh it's a tragedy that's why he's mad at y'all flat paper folks cutting down some good trees in their prime shame on you oh and by the way if you you need graham sappy's permission if you ever plan on leaving hun so now that you're here better get comfy because you're going to be here forever i don't like that forever i think that means a really long time and i can't deal with that uh mr grand sappy we're not with those flat paper people who did this to you and actually i'm not even flat paper i'm origami oh origami you say my eyes aren't what they used to be well if you said if what you say is true then perhaps you may be of some assistance to me if you can find a way to restore my energy i may just let you two leave this place that's so wonderfully generous of you truly i only wish we knew how to restore your energy anyway some more coins he seems healthy enough i am healthy is he trying to help grand sappy i don't know what i'm trying to do i mean i guess technically i am trying to help grand sappy whoa geez louise battle okay i wasn't expecting that but here they are we just line them up and battle them right not too hard [Music] whoa it's been a while since that first battle hasn't it i think i remember how everything works so you let's give it a shot all right line them up okay i wouldn't have to do this they didn't move all right this seems familiar you're gonna line those folded soldiers up remember i do remember i know i got it i understand these goombas look like they can be arranged into a single line remember how to move the rings you just um i'll let you figure it out all right we got it there we go uh let's do it here we go i'm gonna use my boots here we go all right here we go i'm ready i know i i got it you know about action commands right if you press a just as you land on any enemy you'll deal more damage it's been like that for a while now in these sepsis games so here we go here we go i'm ready [Music] got them all very cool is this a wave attack yes a perfectly lined up jump attack is so satisfying if you can land multiple action commands during battles you'll take your enemies out in no time last wave here we go again let's see what's gonna happen okay not a big deal line them up i'll do it okay i got it they're not really this is just like the tutorial that we did all right we're gonna move this one all right [Music] okay we're gonna go with the hammer [Music] all right these enemies don't stand a chance okay action commands you'll see a burst behind you press a when the burst flashes brightest here we go i got it i'm ready here we go [Music] nice ah that was a thing of beauty you smashed all four goombas with a single swing there's one other super important kind of action command when enemies are attacking you press a just before you get hit to guard and take less damage go get a mario keep lining up enemies and using action commands all right we get it we got it we're good all right hey this is great taking out those folded soldiers released a ton of confetti we can use as much as we can can find with all the terrible holes around here i'd say what a great deal we can get rid of an enemy and get confetti to boot and when they explode it's like a party true i didn't think about it that way still though how are the they're already folded soldiers this deep into the forest do you think they're just going around causing trouble everywhere i have such a bad feeling about this i have a bad feeling too but we're just gonna keep going and uh here we confetti this there we go i still don't know what i'm gonna use my coins for yet whoa okay oh got them they get like a first strike or something gotcha all right oof line them up this is gonna be a little tough oh no the folded soldiers are spread out all over the place there's no way you can line them up in a single move we'll be crumpled up before our adventure has even begun that's just mean but i got two ring moves there we go wait do you see that it says times two under the ring moves it looks like you'll get two chances to move the rings in one turn if some battles will let us move the rings twice that changes things okay let's think you could start by uh moving that one then hmm i'll leave the rings to you mario go get them all right we'll we got these uh so this is one [Music] there we go easy great lineup attack power up and i'm going to use my boots here we go there we go beautiful a thing of beauty all right that was good nice [Music] talk i can't believe i had one of those folded things hiding on me is that what it feels like when you walk into a spider web oh now i feel terrible hey here take these and we'll call it even oh great i just talked to a tree he gave me some coins can i hit him too give me some confetti thank you so if you defeat one of those folded creatures it turns into confetti that information could really save a lot of trees you know oh man poor trees i feel bad were we born from trees whoa got him snuck up on me not really because i got him only did four damage though but that's a lot okay line them up ring moves one so yeah i guess we're just gonna want to do two attacks one with hammer one with boots all right that's what we got so whoa there are a lot more folded soldiers this time we'll never hit all these enemies in a sink with a single attack is this the end is this really our final battle it's been an honor to fight alongside you mario [Music] oh we got two actions so look mario the action section does that mean we get two attacks in this one turn let's find out try selecting your first attack now all right great boots coming out first here we go we got this mario's turn got him nicely done they'll do the hammer next that was one action yes i knew it you've still got one action remaining pick your second attack mario all right we're gonna go with the hammers here [Music] here we go let's let it fill up [Applause] great i don't know if that was perfect but it was great wow two actions you're almost unstoppable with a successful lineup and multiple actions we can take out a ton of enemies in a single turn always check your remaining actions before you choose your attacks all right great awesome with me that was great give me your confetti so i can use it to fill up these holes and get more coins all right now what is check let's just check it hey they said this is the spring that we saw before i feel calmer somehow just standing near it normally i wouldn't suggest this but do you think we should try throwing something in here uh yeah how about this uh seed this troubled seed excuse me let's throw it in [Music] there we go a soul seed a fully revitalized soul seed give it to the old give it to old grand sappy [Music] erg what was that did you hear that i think it might have been old grand sappy crying out he seemed pretty feeble when we talked to him but but that was no feeble erg oh no oh no do you think he's okay i don't know let's go ahead and throw some more stuff are you gonna put something in the spring yes how about do this one yeah throw it in throw it in there we go there we go nicely done let's go grab that this is a fire flower use this to throw fireballs at enemies in a straight line and let's put this mushroom in here we go everyone's like freaking out about old grand savvy but i'm just here making uh items let's see can i go this way or is this uh do i do i need to go this way do i backtrack there's a chest here so i better uh i better get it first all right what's up it's not like oh grand sappy did grunt in terror like that he usually just does regular old tree grunts yeah yeah we'll we'll check on him soon here let's what's this all right another collectible number two the mushroom awesome i like that for sure [Music] all right i don't know how much confetti actually need to collect i don't even know if any of that went in my pack anyway we're going back [Music] no time to stop them back to flowers all right all right all right time to save it though hurry please all right uh so let's head over here oh jeez what the heck i gotta fill him back up whoa what's in the background that looks creepy oh dear i i can't look poor thing he's a shell of himself hollowed out like some wood shop project gone wrong i can't believe those horrible things ganged up on old grand sapping and did this to him they they deserve to be chipped uh grand sappy can you hear us this doesn't look good he was already creaky now he's downright hollowed out oh i've got an idea look closely at mr grandsappy's face does it look like one of those holes maybe that means you can fix him with confetti by pressing zr let's give it let's give it a shot it's worth it right [Applause] all right a fourth there we go grand sappy you're there we go huh what happened felt like some rap scallion was whittling was what whittling me down again did i just dream it i suppose that's just the memory going downhill on nuts grand sappy's back y'all let's see mustache check creepy eyebrows check it's grand sappy again all right i thought they're talking about me aw thank you he's still a shell of himself but it's better than being a shell of a shell we've got our precious elder back well he's not hollow anymore but it does seem like he could still be more energetic somehow what about the soul seed that i got for him huh how do i use that [Music] wake up okay let's go to my items i think oh thank you for calling me okay no not for an actual hint what could happen if we give a grand send me that smooth seed all right i know i was just great now we can keep making our way back to peach's castle let's get a move on mario i'm still pretty worried about your green family bye for now grand sappy i'm glad we could be of service all right that seemed pretty cool and um where are we headed now oh here another saving point saving save complete move that's the one there we go got it any more confetti please what does this say i can't read keep out unless you want to stay forever pretty straightforward right yeah they made they made me out of one of grand savvy's branches reduce for use recycle i guess boy oh boy as long as you don't cut them down like permanently then i guess it's okay right all right let's uh splurge on some confetti all right oh there's a toad be right there toad i'm collecting confetti you never know when you'll need it when i'll need it uh oh what's that some kind of face head hat thing is stuck in that shrub i got a bad feeling i'm a toad wait that's what a toad looks like wow it was way off that's because my face is all folded up please help me how about that that's marginally better now i just need some flattening out i think gotcha that's helping just a bit more there we go i'm flat again thank you i don't mean to be rude toad but i have to ask how did your face end up so bent and wonky oh it's bad real bad these horrible folded guys showed up and straight fold and started folding toads left and right most of us got folded before we could even ask what was going on what do they have against toads it's not fair toads have rights this is toad abuse huh i i just re-traumatized myself sounds like folded soldiers to me it must be my brother's doing i know we've got a few other things in our on our plate uh but you'll help any toad will find right mario won't you mario yes i heard that i mean i'm holding you to that affirmative gesture mario but as toads can help you too if you press y during a battle we'll come cheer you on the more of us you have cheering the more help we can give you good things will happen i promise oh we will we will charge you a modest fee for the cheering should have mentioned that all right oh that toad is the shrewd one but it sounds like it could be a big help to have them cheer us on in a battle don't you think let's save as many toes as we can and get them to root for us mario there there you go that's a good philosophy all right so this is some sort of uh something's happening over here i don't know what it is some sort of a tint now how is this game structured like let's see map let's see we got whispering woods uh so we're still in whispering woods we got toads rescued eight percent how big is whispering woods though non-bottomless hole collectibles collected uh question mark blocks hit let's spring woods last save yeah i don't i don't fully understand how this game is structured yet so like i don't know if like we should aim to do whispering woods in just one video i'm gonna think no maybe but but let's just try let's just do this here we go open oh there we go oh great that sounds good to me let's open up another tent here [Music] [Applause] oh there's a toad thanks mario i've been in there for a long time then that weird goomba cut the line cut it cut in line is this anything can i put can i push you on the swing all right so i guess we go up here let's finish this up all right there we go got it it's all a coin so going whoa i didn't mean to do that we better hurry to where peach's castle used to be still trying to look here so um again we are at this so only a fourth of the toads have been rescued huh okay don't mind me huh ah finally a minute to rest oh it healed me mario look at you you've gone from poop to pep i'm so glad i can't face all those folded soldiers alone you're all i've got so stay rested okay when you see a bench take a break then heal up [Music] sounds good to me all right so there's a tote over there hold on probably only one needed only one toss there's a goomba over there and let me go get this other toad okay we're gonna pull him out there we go oh thank you i don't know why i was trying to cut more firewood like that i have plenty are you good i guess i'm just a bit nervous since this is my first time camping i'm still not entirely sure how to get the fire started any ideas one day it'll burn light me we must burn i don't fully know yet check the what is this we used to be trees but we don't feel but don't feel bad for us we'll turn into ashes and grow again is that how that works i don't know if that's how that works but there's another one of these insects here and it's a toad right nice whew that the noise i felt compelled to constantly make was really getting to me interesting so how do i like this i mean i would think to use a fire flower i hate to use it when there's a different what method though but we'll see it looks like we got some battles coming up so let's fight a couple times only four damage though that's okay all right we get two moves right yes indeed we do so this is one of them i hate this is a timer scares me here we go [Applause] there we go now we'll use the hammer on these guys [Music] it was great i'm trying to get it like excellent or something i don't know that was nice [Music] there's a toad over here [Music] i was hoping for a helping hand and i got a helping hammer you're just full of surprises all right i definitely see a tote over there let's go let's go in order though this is clearly a goomba over here [Music] [Applause] hey buddy i i just feel like four isn't that much but it is what it is okay line them up we got this one all right we're gonna be using uh the boots twice [Music] here we go mario's turn let's do it [Music] got all of those here we go [Music] nicely done [Music] all right not too shabby that leaves us with a couple of coins a couple of a hundred coins pull there's a toad i see it but i was gonna pull a tablecloth [Music] there we go oh thank you i was upside down with with a lot with the logs side up now i can be upside up with the long side down or something i don't know man you tell me what was that it was a toad i was worried i'd be done in by my own deliciousness thank you all right great now i definitely see a toad over here you go thanks for saving me from that wood pile but these creases are so deep will i go back to normal [Music] maybe i could pick up a side gig as an accordion completely unrelated why do you think that square patch of grass is a different color i'm guessing that surprised him right well that shocked the fold straight out of me so i guess uh there was a hidden block there huh that's probably a good thing to remember [Music] oh what whoops my bad it's okay instead i'll just cover this up there's a block behind there somehow [Music] [Applause] [Music] there we go whispering woods 100 not bottomless holes repaired how do i get up there [Music] i guess i gotta go the long way there's a flower missing there that's got to be something right no let me get them all got them awesome all right so far so good how do i get back there we go [Music] any more confetti please i gotta figure out what to do with this flower [Music] huh and i gotta figure out how to start the flower oh there's there's a little guy [Music] it was so lonely back here with no one to talk to i had to come up with an imaginary friend she's actually pretty cool do you want to hear about her oh yeah i guess you can press x to get a hint from your real friend whenever you want so you wouldn't understand all right got that how do i start that fire though [Music] no fun times to be had here um i was gonna try to we must burn how do i light them yeah i know you're not helping me with the current thing that i want to do we need more toads we need more treasures like one more treasure and a few more blocks hit as well huh okay let's go inside this house can i help you the toad who lives here isn't home right now and it's actually been kind of gone for a long time all right that's that's it okay there we go what does that do is that a toad it might be i got so bored so i bloomed can you bloom i mean blame me was that him nope who else are we missing i bloom myself all right uh let's see if there's anything down here i mean i don't want to leave this place if we still got more stuff to do you know what i'm saying what does this say i'm firing it up so you can wolf it down welcome to toad's bbq food eatery and all firewood used to be used as happy to burn all right uh let me just give one more go through of this area make sure i didn't miss anything i don't know how to light that i don't know that's for me to do huh all right let's um okay let's go down and out of here really quick like i said this might just be a longer episode toad town okay so we still got some more stuff going on over here toadtown coming up let's see all right tow town so are we in the same spot let me check my menu so we are we're still in whispering woods okay great so let's close the menu all right fresh paper alert let's fold him up all right here's a wave battle this is a big one let's give it a go all right whoa line them up look more puny little goombas this will be a piece of cake line him up and take him out with a quick jump attack but wait something's wrong no matter which ring you turn that one goomba won't fall in line i'm getting dizzy let's stop rotating these rings and think about this i think there's some other way to move enemies around yeah i think there is two it's slipping no wait s slowing striding line dancing i remember it's sliding you can rotate each of the rings but you can also slide the panels up in a row first press lr okay so switch okay great great got it that's the row no i had it all right got it i understand all right gray lineup here we go we'll use the boots and we'll get them here we go mario's turn excellent move last wave coming up all right that's not a big deal all right no rotating let's just slide them again here we go boots again i got this there we go nicely done [Applause] all right i like that a lot are those good guys were saved what were those goombas doing kidnapping us where were they taking us were they even goombas they were folded in a really off-putting way we're taking an l on this one guys we got rescued by mario but you know what maybe we should put aside our differences for a while and we're all paper let's watch each other's backs all right guys let's fight folds with stacks moving out all right it looks like my brother really is turning all kinds of paper folk into an army of folded soldiers at this rate it feels like the whole world is going to be overrun with them i hope not but you're probably right all right which we were going this way yeah and then uh let's cover that up uh-oh oh wow look those goombas over there that's so creepy how'd it get up there probably with a few jumps right that is so creepy this game is really cute this is like the creepiest mario game i played like luigi's mansion was like fun and spooky this one's like ominous and creepy spooky you know what i mean oh it could have been a big fall i'm glad i'm glad there's nothing there all right so this is no longer the woods is it like am i going here this is no longer the woods right i'm a little concerned wait hold on there's so here we go hmm it doesn't look like there's anyone here oh look at that big hollow spot over there that means my brother might have been here already and i'm sure he was up to no good uh oh hold it there is someone here stop it are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that creature way way too big to be real it's not like any any origami i've ever seen before and what exactly is it doing to that house it's eating it oh it's hitting the house i can't imagine how yucky it must taste these macho papery things must be the source of the holes we've been seeing everywhere ugh all right we got to get wait look at the things back that's the seal my my brother's face that might mean my brother is powering it somehow if that's the case that seal could be some kind of weak point maybe if you hit the seal and it will get weaker somehow and then you can take it down all right that's a good plan first let's just start over here really quick with a little safe spot you're just going to leave that thing into some poor toad's house okay i was going to save it sorry got it it gives up good shot it's working oh gosh what do i do what do i do oh geez this is like a more like a 3d battle here there we go got it yes i did the trick so the weak point on that paper macho soldier was my brother seal you should remember that okay great now what are we doing here i'm all turned around after that excitement oh right we were looking for the place where peach's castle used to be which is over there well the gate is right over there we might as well check it out keep that hammer ready in case we run into more of those huge monsters okay okay so with that said you know we need to repair this house there we go can i go inside or [Music] i can check tow town is in ruins paper mache monstrosities rule the streets for now i flee long live the princess all right let's see coins huh so i do need to save but let me double check here whoa i did hit the wrong button no we're good we're good i'm going to check this so we're no longer no we're not we're in toad town now so whispering woods we haven't completely completed and i gotta wonder if it's possible to do so in one run because we need more blocks more treasure more toads surely like we just missed something or maybe are we gonna get like new abilities later that allow us to find more things i just don't know but my goal is to you know 100 complete this game i just need to know what to do so i could quickly give a brief check of this place i know it wants me to do this i just want to see if it's possible to complete you know like to complete this now i don't know if it is i could just be like is there anything over here mario's like that i didn't mean to do that so yeah even though i filled up some stuff over here i got a block there you know i gotta wonder if there's like a back way into this town you know what i mean like maybe like a like a side path like maybe this is not all that that it seems i don't really know what spring woods [Music] tow town is that way so this is whispering woods so i gotta think [Music] i just gotta wonder you know there's clearly a toad somewhere that we haven't found at least one right and so we just got to look for irregularities [Music] like we can't get into this house the coins are back which is interesting this guy won't let us in the speakers are back it's interesting that the coins come back do the enemies come back too because that would just be annoying no the enemies aren't back [Music] yeah i don't know if huh and now yeah i don't know how to start the fire yet what's up how do i start this i guess i'm just a bit nervous since this is my first time camping i'm still not entirely any ideas yeah i don't know how to get the fire started either that's the main thing is i don't know and i don't know where that birdo went remember that birdo from the spring night of me to do that well i guess i did because i could heal hmm don't mind me [Music] that tree is playing this i've already been in this one right [Music] yeah this is a real mystery i'm really boggled [Music] i wonder if i've if i've seen all this place you know what i mean like have i discovered everything here because it seems like i could just keep going on and on but i don't know what's this oh yeah this is the thing that got knocked over huh all right i still don't know what to do this firewood uh but i did can i like push it i don't know i don't think i can but um so i looked it up because i didn't want to spend like forever here trying to find it so apparently you cannot find all the toads or all the collectibles yet it will be later in the game where you can get to that house uh but when i was looking that up i stumbled upon something apparently there's a hidden block like right there i would have not known about that had i not looked it up and then there's also one over here so yeah this is just something that uh you know i don't know i you gotta start looking for hidden blocks wherever they may be and uh so that that's important we got this one there's apparently also one back here so uh this is stuff i would have missed i thought maybe only hidden blocks would be like super obvious but check this out there's one here too so look at that very cool very cool how to get back out through here and uh so apparently you can you can cover all of the holes like we've done uh but we also uh have some more i think two more hidden blocks we've done all the bottomless holes repaired we still cannot find the final toad or the final treasure yet we can later uh like i said this will be a 100 play through so if i don't get to it now i'll get to it later there's two more hidden blocks um i'll try to look for where they are um because i don't want to dive too much into it i just happened to see those two because i was trying to see like well did i miss a toad you know like or is it even possible to get it turns out it's not possible to get it yet at this point in the game so later on in the play through i'll get the hidden blocks and um yeah that's what we'll do [Music] okay there's another one so yeah some of these hidden blocks are really hidden so yeah uh okay there's also one more that i missed at the very beginning and so we'll get over to it very soon all right you see that square right there that's in the spike pit well i got to get a star again well thankfully that mini game is back and so all we got to do and i don't remember if these are going to be the same order or not who knows who knows that's a mushroom uh hearts flower okay coins coins all right got that got that coins what mushroom okay we've got the mushroom and a mushroom and then uh what is this flower flower okay okay and then uh heart heart all right getting that done again coins coins there we go nailed it hopefully we get the star again indeed because we need to get that all right so this is you know this is something i wouldn't have known had i not you know had the toad not told me to look for these blocks there we go there we go so now 100 all question mark blocks hit and that's about all we can do for now next episode we'll go to toadtown eventually we'll find our way back here in the whispering woods but up next we'll uh continue exploring toadtown you know figure out what's gonna happen there but we've we've done as much as we can for now in whispering woods 100 non-bottomless holes repaired 100 question mark blocks hit we have yet to find a toad that'll happen later in the game and also a collectible treasure later in
