all right so I don't know how well this is showing up on the camera but there is a dent here from when someone didn't just open their door into my car I think they purposely slammed their door into my car just pisses me off but it basically dented here left a bunch of blue paint and creased it all the way up to here so now I've already cleaned the area off I used some lacquer thinner to clean the blue paint off I just did it very lightly I didn't want to affect my my paint on the car so now this is all prepped and cleaned what I'm gonna use is this crossbar dent repair kit from Harbor Freight I used this years ago when I had to do some touch-up work on my Corolla now it is a time consuming process basically you're gonna take a hot glue gun you're going to apply hot glue to the end of this piece here or onto the end of this one here depending on how large the dent is that you're working with and then basically you would push it up against the dent just like that you don't want to press the dent in anymore but you want to have the hot glue sit there for about 10 seconds and then basically it will stay in place you'll take the crossbar puller which just basically this piece will just unscrew off the top here let me do that one hand so basically you'll put the crossbar puller over top of the bit that you have glued on there and then put the screws piece on and then basically just tighten it down until it pulls the dent up and it's look at the pool well it ends up a little bit it's gonna be a slow process I'm expecting to be out here for at least an hour of doing this yeah all right now the kit also comes with this release agent you're supposed to apply it to the paint before you start doing the work now I will say that I have not actually needed to use this I might even have a problem getting that glue off of my paint I'm not seeing - definitely not use this but I'm just letting you know that I didn't need to use it but you should probably use it if you're gonna do this because here you don't want to mess up anything you don't use it at your at your peril basically is what I'm saying all right so I've been working on this for about an hour the the instructions say to let the glue cool down for about 10 seconds I've been doing anywhere between like 30 seconds to a minute because 10 seconds is too short and what happens is the glue will peel away from either this piece or from the card or prematurely but so far I've actually had some pretty good luck unfortunately because of the nature this dent because it was hit so hard the there is a crease here and there was a crease here but that seems to have actually been pulled out and then of course there's the crease from where the door came to arrest I don't think this crease will view anything that or this one here but the dent will be a lot less noticeable I think in the end here if this was like a typical dent like a typical dent that didn't have a sharp crease on it like I had on my Corolla before now this will pull it out really nicely and you know you won't even see it a dents on there but this one because it was hit so hard I'll have to have someone come through and actually professionally fix it later but this actually I think will be manageable for me at least so alright so it's been about a minute I'm gonna put the crossbar on here you know make sure these two pieces are flat and then gonna screw on the knob all right so that's flat that's flat and then all I'm gonna do is just slowly turn this until it pops yeah and that's lifted there we go share a little bit of glue residue and sometimes when you go to do this it may even just do a loud pop um it's not doing that now for me because the dent is mostly out but when you start trying to actually pull a dent out it will do a loud pop as the hot glue releases but actually I mean because I don't even really see it but I mean there's a little bit of a crease here and right here but otherwise the dentist coming out here is the spot words actually hungry is it there alright so here's where where the dent was they're still actually a little bit of a dent there because there's a crease here from when I think it's probably the bottom edge of a truck door hit and it creased it so that's we're going to be actually really getting the the dent fully out of here but for the there was a dent that was up here that I got out the crease that's here is gone and there was a crease there's a crease about here it's still kind of there a little bit but I managed to to smooth it out a bit so all that's really left is just the little dent here now say oh it did a really good job and it was pretty easy to do it's just a little time-consuming so if you have some dents on your car on the metal panels you can go ahead and try using the crossbar dent removal kit to you know get rid of the dent or at least lessen them so but yep hopefully we use the kit you are as successful if not more successful than I was removing dents thanks for watching
