Painting My Long Year - Flow of Time | Akiane Kramarik

[Music] it's been a while since I've been staying in Asia I really wanted to be here because this year was an unusually hard year for me there are many Wolf's in sheep's clothing and they're never easy to recognize and this year I got to see quite a few for myself I faced a betrayal defending my art my mission and my honor was the most difficult time in my adult life I got to see greed deception and theft on a grand scale my family and my art team were trying to save our gallery from the individuals whom we had trusted for almost 10 years the escalating crisis was draining us emotionally physically and financially month after month the legal battles kept on cascading but there was no end in sight [Music] we did everything we could to stop their illegal actions but they didn't want the war to end and the battle continued I try to forgive and forget [Music] just like river currents both sad and happy times flow in the same direction but no matter which current we are in we need to keep on sailing forward I came to Asia just with my backpack to fully experience the legendary cultures and landscapes of Korea Japan and China there are over 7,000 languages spoken in the world today to me each language is like a new color a new living museum [Music] but there's one language no one's ever learned yet it is the oldest language in the world the language of nature to me every continent echoes a different rhythm and harmony of nature nature is the only place where I can get rejuvenated spiritually and artistically [Music] here I can feel true freedom and Wonder especially when I fly it's so amazing how the nature welcomes all cultures and all cultures make us artists and also the longer I'm staying here the more hidden gems of history I find for me any preserved culture is like a living painting where we can see real brushstrokes of the past [Music] I see us as a continuous bridge to the future and that's why our wise decisions are the Gateway to our well-being and excellence safeguarding the accumulated wisdom of the past takes great effort but I believe it teaches us the greatest lessons heritage is mankind's generational diary sadly its pages are filled with violence Wars and loss humans have been at peace for less than 8% of recorded history but the flow of time keeps on healing the wounds [Music] I believe the arts is what expands our circle of compassion around us while some cultures welcome the freedom of speech others embrace the freedom of silence because to them only silence enables time for reflection and perception and as an artist I can clearly see how peace is deep rooted in empathy and foresight I think that human characters tested the most in the city a densely packed maze of hearts across the whole world round-the-clock the city brings all generations and all occupations together [Music] here any effort can lead to prosperity here any idea can come to life [Music] in all 30 countries I worked I saw something we all share in common we all want to be heard and valued we all want to matter we all want to feel the fruit of our labor [Music] we all want to pave our own path we all want to belong to create and to share we all want to feel safe and secure and we all want to celebrate life I got to see so much beauty all over the world and so many expressions of joy beyond the borders and beyond the languages I witnessed countless stories shared by the strangers open smiles and hearts and I made so many friends even though most of those memories could not be recorded because true heart-to-heart connection thrives only in the present moment and only in the flow of time and for me those priceless memories have become a huge part of my own heart this whole year became my canvas to paint a new beginning or giant misty cliffs dwarfed all insurmountable challenges and were raging waterfalls wash away every worry in sight there is something that no one can own nor possess something that heals and gives us everything that makes life worth living it is the flow of time a gift to all and here with my brush I reveal the flow of time through the spirit of water just like a nomad it moves and persists creating its own unique path its own greatest release of emotion [Applause] [Music] just like time the powerful rivers and wild waterfalls are never the same yet - they retain almost the same shape and power forming a continuous creation unhonest motion an infinite rejuvenation and now the time has come to unveil what's been living here for tens of thousands of years - trees not ordinary trees but giants many times taller than the Sequoias these giants have seen storms and tranquility droughts and regeneration Wars and celebrations they are living witnesses to countless lives they've never retreated and never gave up they stood the test of time even though their worlds were apart their hearts or not for centuries against all odds the Giants have been reaching out to each other to be together creating their own bridge their own destiny I believe that only time can reveal the real value of love because only love can create peace and I feel that each brush stroke in this misty landscape is my own prayer for peace peace for every nation large or small peace for every family west or east peace for every heart warm or cold peace for every faith strong or weak and peace for every soul young or old [Music] [Music] so Tom's hand keeping Busey tall Oh Connie Oh [Music] yeah [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] keep [Music]
