Our Island Survival Begins ~ Len's Island

what's happening everybody bro master welcome to welcome back to lens island we did the demo of this and that was actually several videos because i really enjoyed this and you guys enjoyed it as well so we're going to go into the early access version comes out on the 26th but we're gonna take a first look at it create a new game all right we're gonna choose our dude oh we gotta shoot why i don't know man jarrow island all right when does he wear shoes no all right uh go with a darker color and i dig that there one has purple no i mean is that kind of purple yeah i'm down all right this is a survival game uh top down isometric view and we got right click to move is that all they never never put any other controls in no all right this is fine it was it was an interesting mechanic i always thought with that so too far away managing your hot bar and backpack okay uh give me my machete and i put that in there okay whatever uh wait what the not my backpack i'm actually very confused cool chest oh wait duh that's right i remember how this game works i i literally just clicked on it too and we have save and sleep let me just save my game so we have a save point all right so each time you attack you trigger a critical hit damage oh that's right i forgot about the clicky thing you could click again right there it's like it gives that bonus all right grab all this wood so the demo we're on a small little island i don't know if this i don't see there's no map button that i can tell right now but this is supposed to be a lot bigger than the small island whatever was remember these being stuck that stuff in and that was good if i remember right the way the resources work is it basically just builds up in here so there's no actual like i don't know if there's a limit to how much stuff we can carry i know you need like a bunch of fiber you need a bunch of wood you can make some really cool stuff in the demo so i'm hoping this is even better you know this is the early access version but i'm also excited to see how big this is because the island we were on was it wasn't teeny tiny but it was still pretty small the vast majority of it was an underground area so i kind of want to check this out and i also don't know if we can make like boats and go elsewhere but it does sound like it's a chunk of islands actually you know what let's get some stone all right i'm not good at the clicking time yeah it's like six otherwise it's nine if you get that little bonus and this is for the basic i know there was like other things we could buy and upgraded stuff i actually want this all right give me this so i have some food i don't fully remember how the food system works but oh interesting no need that all right just chop through all this i mean we have a basic little house then i guess i'm fine with this you just got to build like a [Music] build one wall i'll put a window all right there we go okay so now we have like a little house we can at least call home all right so there's stuff here there's a bunch of stuff we have to unlock there's a workbench which we need more metal for and we need more wood for and then building this basic and there was i think stone and ornate okay then i actually have no idea what this stuff is down here i have no clue cool all right i'm down okay let's go but i don't know if that's the wrong one find an explorer i already feel like we've significantly gone further than we ever had in the island so oh no i guess there was like little paths and stuff to get to get some clay as well like having a little bit of all the resources is probably the best all right there we go all right so we have some clay we have some of that stuff i don't know if there's going to be any sort of wildlife or threats or anything on the surface i know there was underground but i don't know about about above and same time i'd like to find a place that would be like a great spot to actually just like this is this is a good spot for help can't walk up that something different yeah it's blue these red ones nope i think it was just flowers in the ground all right nope that didn't work you know you can like hippity-hop and there's like parkour in the demo bit so again i'm gonna i'm gonna compare oh this is how we get there we have to actually build this right 80 wood and 25 that's not impossible fiber's easy to get there's literally these plants everywhere okay we'll actually have the fiber now we're good there all right love to build a workbench too oh you take a light all right there we go and then just give me my x i think 80 wood is like you pick up four but it's significantly more than four i remember going on a bunch of little i could build a i built a relatively nice house i thought in the demo i thought the building was cool so i just kind of kept going my god sure we had a lot of life okay so how much do we have right now we do have uh we have enough pair the bridge are you for real evil i was like yeah we repaired the bridge and then there's another bridge on the other side all right this is fine i just start chopping this tree down i guess i get this fiber at the same time i can feel like the fiber it is how much you get i guess we're also getting wood just by chopping all right give me that grab this wood only 20 wood though i think the yellow bar at the bottom is our overall food we need to fill that thing up to like make sure we keep healing ah what i didn't know there was such i didn't know bees would attack you evil how much how much do we have we have 44 right now all right that's not enough give me some more wood actually you know it moved closer yeah like they saw the two plants and i'm like might as well get the plants at the same time all right gather some stuff up okay i didn't expect you to actually fall off that was a lot of wood in one chunk nope closer remember this is always a good way to get metal and money apparently all right let's destroy you can i destroy you i don't even know nope but at least try i just started the bridge thing man i i want to keep going i i want to get enough wood to do that i have to know what's on the other side all right we have enough i think yeah we got 114 oh there is a cap the little bar is almost full 150 it looks like 150 of each of these all right well where is this going to take me oop and repair oh there's like a whole nice little house here all right oh it's a second floor house that's cool did you like rotate the screen maybe you can't i don't remember i swear you could rotate the screen i don't know i look at the controls in a little bit so right here is where i may want to call home for a bit this is a little fancy house i don't know there's not a lot of room in there not a lot of room to grow the house either it's cool there's like a little house there but there wasn't anything really inside i got 35 wood all right how much did i need for the 50 wood and tin fiber i mean there's more fiber right here that gave me a hole too honestly i guess maybe this is maybe this is better and it gives you more i mean that's not bad right there yeah that gave me more than using this all right cool good to know let's keep exploring let's see what else is out here we got another bottle on the ground some glass all right i feel like this is a sign that there's something over here hey crab how's it going is that a crab i don't know whatever it is it's an enemy oh no oh my god i don't know if this is a good idea or not this thing is scary looking i'm not doing one damage anymore that's what i was doing that was not good we all right get you i thought i got it for a second it felt really good confident oh god huh now give me number four my food's up there we go i don't want to give up yet right he's dead yes victory little guys i'm not worried about it there's more big guys then i'm a little worried but oh there is another big guy right there oh do i try to find him there's a chest right here i want the chest so badly there's two chests oh he's coming now all right attack i'll just dodge i think there's a third guy over there we're just gonna get it okay go ahead and do that i don't care ow i think you actually got me jeez get a little bit of health up you know growing plants was the trick that's how you get a lot of food okay please just be a little dude okay yeah it's just a little guy that's fine all right break you i supposed to break these i don't remember if i broke them or what i guess we're gonna break it open find out yep that all the big guys okay sweet all right it's fine here we go conquered the island yeah all right we actually did conquer the island all right i'm down i think stuff comes back but i really don't remember i think that guy was bigger than that one makes it look like it anyways oh my god it's getting dark all right i need to look for food too as we run around oh it's so dark right this nice little river here i mean i kind of like this little area right here because it seems like just a nice little coast and if that thing responds up there we can go back up there and get stuff like it keeps going down here like the place i think i want to set up though is i'm imagining there's going to be a cave like in the demos and the demo i mean so if i can find that cave i feel like by there is the place i want to set up god so flipping dark i don't have a i guess i could sleep back at the boat and the raft or whatever uh where are we giant beach over here [Music] i climb up this yep all right well there's not really anything up here though here's some more fibers and whatnot i guess i actually can't even i didn't even think about it but i can't even tell if there's bushes with berries on them because it's so freaking dark all right what we got over here there's another place over here looks like how big is this map it's cool there's other islands it's not just like a tiny little island like the last one this has got a whole forest in it [Music] oh man i'm gonna get totally lost from where i originally was there go to crafting the bed i can make i have enough wood for it i don't have enough fiber apparently and i can make a bed can i just put a bed anywhere it have to be inside yeah it looks like it has to be on a foundation and that takes oh that apparently takes this stuff i haven't even gotten this yet all right it's sandstone oh limestone i think it was on basic wooden you can also make it out of other things too we can switch to stone takes a ton of stone or switch to ornate which takes a ton of clay no it takes a bunch of limestone this is the cheapest right i'm literally just gonna do this and i don't have enough wood now curses [Music] it's good until that point i just want to sleep the morning only because it's dark that if i get another save point i would be i wouldn't be opposed to that okay just put that there right oh sleep and save all right save my gaming hey look this is exactly where i want to be how do i get in here though interesting okay well i may have actually just found exactly where i want my house to be it looks like it goes over here too yeah so this leads to somewhere too no way pirates island this place looks cool okay all right just keeps going i'm not gonna be able to hop up there i'm having to actually build onto this all right that works come up here and uh break these get some stuff out of these things okay you have this this is super awkward and even if it wasn't clicking it'd still be awkward i do something with this i i i don't i don't know i don't think so we no there's no way i'm jumping there all right i mean i'm not opposed to making this like a place i can fill down at some point but right now i think i'm just gonna go build like a little home over here i feel like that's the entrance there this i'm amazed at how big this is i knew it was gonna be a lot bigger because that's what they were talking about but this is a lot bigger i mean i i'm assuming there's probably other places too because we only went to like bottom and top there we go i saw the bottle give me that give me that that's good i was hoping i could line myself up so i could hit all of them including that tree all right it's fine take this thing down in no time make yourselves a little base right here i'm gonna need more sand oh yeah i just go over there there's a bunch of limestone over there how much do i have i actually think i may need the stone more um yeah as far as this how am i gonna get in here do i just like am i gonna need like am i gonna have to make it explosive or something i don't know all right well whatever let's uh let's let's see no this is what i need right here another foundation another foundation another foundation i'd like to make this at least two more i mean honestly i'd like to go probably about here and then over what am i missing stone stone and wood stone and wood more trees right next to oh here we go we got food too it's kind of one of those important things i need to work on right away as well starting to grow food i think i can just don't remember if you plant the plant the food and it grows into more or i i honestly don't remember how it worked right 54 wood you shabby i really like it when there's a bunch right next to each other like this kind of park myself right in the middle nope middle there we go it's just easier to chop it all down no don't fall off into the water oh i actually got hurt by the tree falling on me oops i mean it doesn't hurt to have extra fiber gonna use this though right see is there any more berries because i'll take some more berries all right can i can i get both of these trees at the same time i can still get more wood my clicking is off come on here we go and then you need to go grab the wood that fell in the water did i already grab that i don't think so uh down here yeah i know it's still down here is this a rock i can break no oh can i multitask these things it looks like it right in the middle okay apparently not that days oh is this this may not even be something i could break i just realized this is a rock but i don't think it is all right well whatever i know this is at least some of the stuff i need we have more clay too oh my god my pickaxe sucks okay so that was limestone so where's the stone i'm actually very confused now here we go this is stone good lord i need to i should probably immediately put flangers up too right 21 stone what do you take just wooden okay that's fine wooden fiber very well uses the water source for farming okay well i'm gonna need that too oh that's a bunch of stone okay gotta stop doing it uh do i wanna put it there i guess that's fine i can make the house further back the wood now wait what am i lacking then oh now i am lacking something it's wood purses i just have one more left and then i'm happy with that then then i just need a lot of wood for building the walls which i think the walls are just yeah it literally is just wood wood fiber putting glass that one's not bad let's give me the fiber real quick i don't want to screw up that kind of sad i was hoping to get this tree at the same time all right take you down all right there we go there's plenty of room to grow the house too no like i guess i want to get a roof going all right one more oh two more three more oh god i don't know if there's gonna be a store i was just thinking like the demo there was a place you'd actually go spend all your stuff at but i imagine there's got to be a store somewhere on the island or somewhere in i don't know maybe not uh i'm good for right now okay so we're done with that one but the entrance to the house probably right about here i'll put a window up over there over here i don't have enough glass all right yeah comes down to freaking wood i'm gonna go chop trees for a second i'm gonna try to get enough that i can like almost max my wood out so here's hoping wait wait oh but i gotta water it don't i i'm just gonna plant three right now i don't know if they grow at all or if i had to water them first i think i had to water them i don't remember i remember that you could plant multiples so you could like end up with a bunch of food i think these ones don't go away when you pick them i don't remember uh so i hope i have enough i have 150 i am maxed out i think this isn't working zoom out there we go and so i don't think it's working just because of the what the angle of it all and i want to put a door back here i think it'd be cool to have like a little balcony back there and then this has to go on top uh how much wood do i have left i think for this first house i'm just gonna call this good we're just gonna put a cap on it oh my god what is it oh it takes a bunch of okay like how am i out we still should have a good amount i need a bunch of clay for this one two three four four times what i just i need 40. nope i lied i need 80. okay we'll see you in a second again stop attacking all right so [Music] i didn't realize i had the thing paused still i thought i unpopped it i did not we're we're done with the building hey we built everything we needed to uh i'll scroll up so here's the little building we got our front porch i actually wanted to put this right here so i have a little stairway to get up here uh can i get out of this so i can move outside outside we can actually see it there we go yeah this is our house i'm thinking for this front i'm gonna put some more of these beds up a bed here in a bed here we can have like a front garden i put the rest of the roof up though and i think uh go to no i want the building no i manipulate f there we go okay so if we scroll up yeah so i have like enough room that i could i keep doing that indeed that's how okay i want to go up to like here you can see there's this big pocket could put a stairway so we can go up and have like a little bit of a second floor maybe end up moving my bed up there this is what i may end up doing i do want to put a balcony out back and i built the table but i mean that's really all i've done yeah so far so on the table it looks like there's some stuff we can unlock like it says learn so we have to pay salvage metal to learn it then we can build these things oh wait is that how these are too no this is crafting we can craft tools i was like oh basically what basic watering can i think this would work but i don't know if this water would work or if i have to build the well and we can also upgrade this but it's going to take a lot of the iron iron metal pieces so i think right now wait there's a chest down here there's a tool chest i had no idea i was wondering how i would change these if i got them because i didn't see a tool chest option in the build mini and then looks like there's like all kinds of stuff so yeah there's that i also remember that we did want a torch when we went inside the cave because it's incredibly dark so there's no more uh stone on this island as far as i can tell so we're gonna have to go somewhere else and check out like in order to get some more of that but i mean there was still a chunk of the island we never searched over i just walked over glass i did that earlier too when i was getting trees i don't even know where it was from oh i mean what is the point of this to get up there literally just hopped up here the last time yeah i mean this works too i don't know what the point of that is or whatever man and there's a limestone everywhere it's a stone that we don't have a lot of and this is not the stone we chop no no because it highlights this is the stone we need but we need 50 stone to even do what i think yeah the well so i can actually start like watering things because salt water is not going to work for a farm it wouldn't make any sense and it didn't seem like anything was growing but i i don't honestly know it didn't seem like the stuff was dying so there's that positive oh and i like i would like to go out into the water but i don't know how far out i can go or if there's something out there that's going to kill me there's something back here what is this mysterious objects like a ruin of some kind here we had we haven't been down here so that's one of the reasons i was like ah let's go check out some more of the island so at least i'd like to know my surroundings a little bit more this looks like it's a dead end it seems like there's at least some sort of thing that's like incl you know implies that x uh you i just realized i have no food number four all right there we go food's maxed out health is almost maxed out all right we got this thing here give me some bits and bobbles any more connectors oh what is this no do i need to do something for this bridge closed captioning not available i mean i could just take my oh stone i i don't think i'm gonna be able to get up this way though i really don't the more i swim around this island the more it seems like this may not well i don't know maybe right here yeah nope not cool enough hops i don't see any threats on the island though is it going nighttime right now i swear i just slept not that long ago yeah i mean it looks like there would be a threat i mean that looks like some sort of like you know or something and there's another one and another one don't see anything up there oh maybe this is not in the game yet because it's early access wait but what's that all kinds oh i think i just saw something move bottom of the screen okay i click on the bridge close sign at all you do anything with this no i have no idea can i build here i don't have anything to build with so i guess i can't really build here and i want to check where are we on stone we're at 22 so i need i still need to find more stone so this is right i think honestly i have no idea i noticed the workbench did not have a pickaxe it has an iron axe but it does not have a pickaxe so yeah there is that that means we probably have to level it up to two in order to get the pickaxe the next braid of pickaxe anyways all right anything throughout here i feel like number two will maybe give us explosives so we can blow and blow up the entrance which is i i'm again the only guess i have as to how we get into that cave all right just keep busting that up that should be enough yep i have 69. okay i think i only needed a little bit of stone on top of all this it's not giving me metal shards or anything that that's unborn learn the refinery too which is going to probably take a bunch of stone given there is none on that island besides one and it does look like stuff responds but i don't know what speed hoping i run into my raft here soon too i'd like to save my game here we go this is not my wrap what is this place hello i break down the door you can't go inside oh hoping to go inside i can't break any of this stuff sad days all right i run along the like the river here i do like this river though this is a really nice river oh my god it looks so beautiful all right i feel like we got to be getting near the raft though near where we came in on okay we got another barrel there we go i'm just gonna cut straight through the island well there was a thing here the whole time too graham oh wait no that's the one i repaired never mind i saw this light and i was like what is this light plus five no i don't care enough not sticking around here otherwise maybe all right wait then where do i get the metal shards from like that just that just hit me too i guess we have to get the refinery and then refine them i don't know how else to get into that thing it's got to be some sort of like explosive or something we build right it's gotta be give me that honestly i think i needed more fiber so you know what oh just break all that down real quick need two trees next to each other by chance er not really i would love the iron axe so much it'd be nice to chop things down even faster after i chop stuff down the faster we get our supplies faster i can build stuff this this game like the demo i was very impressed with and i i i'm i'm so happy to be playing more this like i want i want to build up like a big old giant mansion ideally like at some point i probably build it somewhere near this river because it looks really nice all right go uh i don't think i really need to play do i i do never mind realize i only have nine left i think i need that for [Music] something else i build air i actually have i didn't realize i could scroll and there's more right but we already have those we're good i need the web i still need more fiber all right there we go got enough now but honestly i will use all of the fiber that i have so i should probably get a little bit literally right next to each other like this like it's super easy to chop down but why not all right so i need this slappy of like right here all right i'm gonna go in here i'm gonna make this thing been getting cold from even i have no idea i have three found within caves useful as a fuel source of various items but there's only one cave and it's closed my god my cat just scared the crap out of go question is do i have enough that i can do more of those yes i can oh not enough to do i mean it's like one tree to chop down i'll do it real quick i just want i just want to get the gardens finished i don't remember if i need the other things for anything but i'm gonna get him just because i don't know what to do about the cave put that there then i mean i guess oh wait things are actually starting to grow do lavender lavender then i'll do some marigolds over here all right here we go i mean i feel like that's going to be fine then number four oh the watering can is empty i was just about to say i don't know how much water is in the watering game apparently two uses all right go put that away because i don't i don't need to have that on me at all times give me the torch right close that oh you right here okay so i need eight iron shards and fibers with that so iron shards is say where i get those no yeah found from mining iron ore or refining stone so i need the refinery before i can do that the refinery unfortunately needs coal which we find inside of out of caves i mean i've obviously found some but i think it must have been from like the barrels and such how do i get inside this cave i thought maybe we'd i could make an explosive and break our way in but i don't know it doesn't work uh wrong button actually i do want to go save my game real quick right here save game because we've done so much that i would like to whoa that tree just grew back into existence you can see the little shadow in the background is going [Music] super freaking weird all right i mean if barrels keep coming back i guess this is one way we can get our stuff back yeah is it another barrel over here okay that just gave me four coal i guess we're just gonna go wander i feel like there's gonna be another connector somewhere too i almost feel like maybe right here no all right well let's just wishful thinking um there's still four more things obviously one of them is probably the fireplace uh still a bunch here i've not unlocked any of that though all of this which i imagine when you unlock one you unlock all the different decorations and such i mean i'm just going to swim across to the point of climbing that up here there was more it seemed like on the yeah right here nope i lied it's further up right here the question is are those freaking monsters back or are the chess back the monsters are back oh i somehow missed metal here oh this didn't come back i'm sad do i do something with you i wanted that the last time too did we get credit for destroying them i don't know i don't see any other ways to really go here the only cave i saw is that when it's closed um and debate on to debate on what to do next i obviously need to explore so we can find these barrels are going to be our best option they do seem to come back on the shore so i guess just running around the shore is going to be our best bet on this whole thing already kind of ran through the center and there wasn't anything else there that i saw i feel like this island is big enough that i may have missed something we built this this i don't think there's anything over here though like i don't know i mean there was two barrels i guess right back in the back they are still broken if i go here actually i can go here and then uh oh no way really dude dude this is the ultimate way to rece to get resources oh wait it's giving me metal shards ah i mean this is giving me clay and everything some of those yeah that's 15 mil shards right there dude heck yeah can't remove this foundation oh because i'm standing on it oh because this is attached to it all right we're full up there got 33 iron shards from destroying the house because i realized i'm not going to be building on this nothing hiding back here right now okay i had to double check honestly it's so much fiber all the time i thought there was a lot more in that one spot than there actually was all right let's go searching for more what's q oh q is the dodge just happened to see down here it says q and i'm like what does that mean i i i know what then all right the question is where there's a cave then did i miss an entrance nice nice okay you've heard lose achievement for rolling a bunch of times i haven't gotten it yet it started what's this repair bridgewater town there's a town oh we're actually going somewhere what i wasn't expecting this oh wait hello traveler uh just passing what is this place it's bridgewater traveler my name is gerald i am mayor of the corner of the world if you said settling on the island be where the darkness alerts beneath many travelers that come to the island in search of its power if you ever return that was built from travelers such as yourself just want to take them right uh it's incredibly dark right now pirate town what hello ahoy sailor uh just browsing your goods thanks okay no wait what play some jack blackjack i'm gonna say no right now you're good man you don't have any goods here you're talking about oh i guess maybe it's maybe this chopper when kevin says to chop someone real quick use this okay holy crap so we just like scratched the surface um [Music] all right we got a tower over here nothing i can do with it god it's so pitch black huh i forgot i have this like a sewer oh god my game does not like this right now the torch i guess so can i sleep in this bed i need i need a place to sleep actually can i build here no it won't let me i didn't think it would but i had to try let's try that again you're gonna do the same thing is it just something with whatever was happening over there i have no clue howdy friend just browsing your goods thanks okay you have okay what do you have a little spiky boy bait and chop all right good night friend okay did i come back in daytime i don't see anything oh we got stuff over here uh what that fires okay i can't buy anything i can't sell any because i don't have any golden norse shield interesting oh these are like super fancy items okay i just browse and stuff okay that's everything is those ones right there all right i only have 13 coins so i don't really have a whole lot of money right now a blacksmith here maze ooh iron shards i could buy some wait is this all the way can i destroy all that salvage metal coal okay so i can buy some coal here too i don't have the money for it but i can if i need it if i wanted to i could okay nothing else here this place is crazy i want to explore more but i think i'm gonna oh screw it let's kind of just take a look around see if i can find something you have anything here hello are you selling stuff oh you do okay so i can sell stuff there wait wait wait i'll sell for one piece that said it would sell for two i'm like oh i'll do that basic resource sell for two don't mind if i do all right so the town would be a lot more a lot nicer in daytime but what can you do close this is there some sort of like just like still i don't know where a cave is thinking maybe i'd find a cave here but it's like a destroyed house this does not look like it's been in good condition nope can't do anything here all right figured out a try wait can i just zoom in and zoom out at any point in time no it automatically zooms me to the same point all right well i guess i'm gonna go back to my home this is the case i can't do anything here where the stuff under the out just totally smacked my knee wait wait wait wait wait we found a cave did we not find a cave am i not allowed to go in the cave what is this what is this tomfoolery for sale what i could purchase the property and this place would be mine dude there's so much fun and stuff in this and things all right all right mayor have fun i'm going back here i'm gonna go save my game and i'm gonna sleep until the morning and yeah we'll pick it up from here next time and try to build a refinery i still don't know exactly like there's obviously so there's something else i missed here there's that right there i mean look how close that was are you serious i would have just gone north a little bit we would have found there right away oh all right it's
