our gender reveal *sentimental* | the east family

[Music] here's the deal let me just first start by saying i had more fun doing this gender reveal than i ever thought i would have doing anything baby it was so much fun we weren't into the whole like gender reveal idea hence why we waited with drew find out that she was a girl when she was born and it was the most magical experience of my life to have andrew get to like see her for the first time be like baby we are having a girl that was so cool the newest member of the family eight pound eight ounce 20 and a half inch baby girl so with this one when we decided to do the gender reveal i was like oh this is going to be fun and cool but it's not going to be like i don't know i just wasn't anticipating it to be as cool as drew but before we start the video you know we have to do this please hit the thumbs up and subscribe to the channel and when you do so we're going to put up the cutest picture of nash that you've ever seen so go ahead and do that now and let's get into it all right so we wanted to do a gender reveal because with drew we didn't and we wanted to see what the experience was like to do one we thought with this pregnancy it's completely different this little kid is like their own little person and let's just do it different so that's why we decided to do the gender reveal so when we decided it was actually lexi and natalie who did all of it but we kind of had three buckets of people that we wanted to cater to in planning this we wanted to cater to all of our friends and family our grandparents our aunts and uncles god parents everybody who really couldn't travel to nashville to be a part of it so we did something for them and then we had the bucket of people who could come so like my parents andrews parents and our like super super close group of friends here in nashville so we did something for them as well and then the third group is you and we wanted to make sure that this was a fun experience a lot of you are invested in our journey and we're so thankful for that so we wanted to put together a lot of fun videos and content for you so we hope we do that with the first bucket so with everybody who couldn't make it to nashville lexi and natalie did the greatest job ever epic get ready for the greatest clips you'll ever see in your life they had to go through a lot of like strategy planning to figure out how to do and execute all of this without giving away the gender to us or for them to find out too early on to where it was too hard for them to keep a secret [Music] what is this look at that form hello we did the anatomy scan we got the car for the sonographer we came home they were waiting for us they get the card from us they jump in the car when they're in the car they actually blindfold themselves open up the card and send the gender to a cookie maker that's right emily the baker what is that i'm so lucky it's the gender of east baby number two i'm so scared oh my god it's open oh my god we know something we don't know oh my god the surprise that we did for all of our friends and family who couldn't make it were these incredible boxes i don't know how you did it they put together these boxes that had like this giant sticker on the front that said do not open just in case they received it before our actual gender reveal we didn't want to get some random text message from grandma saying congratulations you're having a you know so they kind of put like all this information on the front you open it up and it said he or she what will they be and the whole theme was be themed b-e-e beekeepers beekeepers really clever guys really love her and then under their like insert that gave him all the instructions they had a cookie all right we got all the cookie boxes prepped 26 different people emily right now the only person who knows the gender created these beautiful cookies that said he or she bite to see and you bit into the cookie and it was kind of like filled with a blue or pink filling they were incredible yeah so they looked really good they also tasted really good yeah so thank you emily so lexi and natalie kind of boxed all those up and shipped those out without ever finding out the gender which was amazing they sent the video to her and then deleted it right away yeah we are so excited to find out the gender of baby number two i have a feeling it's a boy yeah i kind of think it's a boy too three two one avery thinks it's a girl hey save some i want to buy it i think it's a boy i think it's a boy i'm going to bite into andrews what i'm going for here what do you think girl girl i think it's a girl no i even know she said it's been a different pregnancy oh my gosh [ __ ] nervous close your eyes he or she oops i cracked it oh no i'm trying i'm trying no don't look it don't ruin it for you you gotta move your head so our mail sucks this just got here hey oh my god take a bite i am gonna eat your cookie and find out the gender of your baby with the girls who hopefully are not gonna eat anything cookie we are all excited look are you ready are you ready to take a bite okay now fast forward two weeks has gone by it's the day before the gender reveal for us to find out yes and for like our parents and our closest friends so what we did with this group or what lexi and natalie did honestly the geniuses the night before the gender reveal they did the whole cookie experience you'll see that clip freaking gold amazing all right natalie what time is it it's 10 25. freaking out we are opening it before the stage it's like this i wonder what our pulses actually my heart's being so fast all right shiny andrew wait do you think we need to take like a big bite to like get to the center i don't know i kind of just want to break it okay we gotta just take a bite ready one is it a girl or a boy [Music] oh my gosh they had to find out because they had to prep for the next day and actually find out what we were having so they could get everything ready so natalie came up with this idea she envisioned like this whole sign that says east on it covered in white balloons us decked out head to toe in white and then our friends and family all holding squirt guns filled with colored paint blue if it's a boy pink if it's a girl so they filled the water guns the night before got them all ready and then the day of kind of distributed them amongst everybody at the party to kind of spray us down we're about to spray-paint the east letters it's the morning of we're getting chick-fil-a nuggets and then we're heading over to the east's to set up the letters we were just getting super giddy because we were thinking about how happy they're gonna be regardless of gender that is so exciting we are so excited for you guys and there's a guy watching us film this yep your probably things are bloggers we're all gonna know very soon this is natalie and lexi out [Music] oh it looks so good it looks so good so we show up and i am so nervous i'm shaking i feel nauseous my hands are sweating i don't know how if you were feeling that same way but it was crazy i didn't think i was going to be that excited it was just like oh we're doing a gender reveal cool but the day of i was like super hyped and it was weird because we could not have cared less if it was a boy or girl we would have been so ecstatic either way so when we started like walking up to the top of our backyard for this like reveal i was shocked when like my heart rate was through the roof i was so excited yeah and i don't know why i didn't have like a preference it was also really cool because natalie had baked a cake and the inside was like filled with the gender color we also had like pens that each person who showed up had to like choose team boy or team girl my last minute predictions were i thought it was a boy just because i feel like the whole pregnancy has been completely different my last prediction was i thought it was a girl yeah it was majority boy or most people thought it was a most people thought it was a boy when we asked your parents when you asked my parents pretty much everyone thought it was a voice i thought it was a boy i'm excited okay last call i'm expecting a couple pencils gonna be a great baby i think it's a boy you think it's a boy where's josh snake blue boy he thinks boy i see two boys over there i think it's a girl team girl team girl team girl what are you doing girl jd's team boy it's a boy uh last guess probability so we're like walking up we get up to the top we're standing there the girls hand out all the squirt guns and i start freaking out i'm like oh my gosh this is happening and natalie's like okay everybody when i say three two one after one just start like aim at them and go at it all right ready don't spray the camera ready really face each other or like holding hands and all of a sudden i hear three and i'm like oh my god that's happening two one i live this in slow motion the first thing i see is it hit andrew's shirt and i was like we're happy three two one [Music] [Applause] let's go let's go let's go what up my dude what up my dude how you doing [Music] the actual card from the stenographer it's a i was so shocked because in the back of my head i kept saying a boy just because everything was different but i truly thought we were gonna have a girl i've even had dreams that we're gonna have like three girls and just have like a girl family yeah obviously would have been happy with a boy or girl yes i had a brother who had two girls in a row i had another brother who had three boys in a row and i feel like here's the thing i i did kind of want a boy because you want to experience what it's like to parent and raise both you know so we were either gonna have a boy this time around or keep having kids 30 girls down the road until we had a boy yeah we really wanted to experience both yes but again we would have been happy no matter what but we're having a boy we haven't even thought about we were sure we're having a girl we were locked in i designed a nursery for a girl no name for a boy we did for a girl we had it locked in yeah locked it yeah we don't know what we're doing now i think we're starting to scratch you know one of the first people i looked at was mallory who was like standing across from me and i was like i don't know what to do with a boy and she's like oh it's okay i'll tell you i'll teach you boys are easy [Laughter] we were so caught up in the moment screaming getting shot with like paint everything we look over rubers balling she's scared because i'll be going yeah and us being splattered and i think she thought we were like hurt so i went and got her and like cuddled her and stuff and she just like kept like touching all the paint on my face and like talking but all that to say she will be the best big sister to a little boy she might be a little bully to him but she's gonna she's gonna put him in his place yeah i am just i am so excited everybody was so excited we called a couple of people who weren't sent cookies and just kind of told them trying to like make sure our family and friends were informed [Applause] let's go okay [Music] i cannot tell you how high that was i just saw a slow-motion blob hit your teeth first and i was like oh my gosh and in some ways there's more of a feeling of relief than like excitement you know yeah i did want to avoid yeah anyway it was just which also leads us to we wanted a boy and a girl at some point no matter the numbers you know on either side are we done having kids we're not there yet we haven't even we haven't yet yeah we haven't even had this it was so fun the whole day was just a great celebration what are you gonna do with the boy i don't know i can't really use anything i care i'm really excited there's a boy in there a boy a boy a little baby boy so i hit andrew's shirt and i was like and true andrew fashion lexi and natalie have been planning this beautifully executed incredible experience for months pretty much and the night before or the day before the gender reveal andrew goes you know would be a great idea instead of like the paint we ordered paintball guns and people shot us oh yeah shots [Music] oh wow it's getting way worse look you scapped it up it's scabbed you see that yeah did you see that you deserve it who's ready for some chick-fil-a yeah are you ready to do this though all that to say you have a son we're having a boy it's so exciting i am so excited i do not know what to do with a boy we need all new stuff now but it's exciting yes i can't wait to meet this little guy little buddy grandma we're having a boy you ready for another great grand boy thank you thank you grandma we love you you guys ready for another grandson we are so excited and happy for you yes i was shocked i wasn't shocked seeing you come at a boy but you were excited that i was a boy yeah but i did say that we wouldn't be here if you were a girl so yeah i'm so excited i like boys yeah she had four boys pray for granted yes we don't have a name we have literally no name no name i i knew it all along you said you're glad drew doesn't have to compete oh absolutely yes but i think it's a perfect balance i think drew's going to give your little [Laughter] and my thoughts on gender reveals as a whole i feel like if we're gonna have another kid i would like to do a gender reveal just so much fun i will still stand by i think it was so special for us for our first kid to not find out and have that moment at the hospital where you got to tell me it's a girl that was so cool but yes this was incredible and also are we making all this about us like sending cookies out do people care that much for us to make a video about or invite them to a party and first of all it was not about us it was about the baby right and celebrating finding reasons to celebrate even small things like finding out the gender of an unborn baby is a good reason to get together and it's a you know it's kind of what makes life fun so i'm glad we did it cool thankful for lexi and natalie who put it together honestly rock stars if you've made it this far i hope you
