OUR ENGAGEMENT / part 1

other and god knitted our journeys together i couldn't imagine my life going any different and being with you makes so much sense and our journey has been a special i remember a younger me praying for a future girlfriend a wife someone who fears god who's lovely who's independent he's strong who's pure he's unique who's fierce who is everything that really i wanted somebody really didn't need me but just wanted to be with me and i definitely went on my search to find a woman like that and they all came all my attempts came up empty until i found you you caught my eye because you were beautiful obviously i'm attracted to you but my soul thought you were special in a different way there's a verse that i believe like i read someone we were dating and i feel like it really explained the emotions i felt at the beginning and then how i felt this whole time and how i feel like i feel forever about you but it songs 2-2 and it reads yes you are my darling companion you stand out from all the rest for though the thorns around you you remain as pure as a lily more than all the others and that's kind of been my experience with with you that you've always stood out to me amongst the rest you've always been different and that's what's been special to me about you so take it back to father's day 2017 um where you that's kind of our first interaction to not first interaction i've known you for a while but like first real deal where it kind of got serious and you hung out the whole day with all the bros it's just you and my 12 other guys and my dad and i remember you bending to me about boy problems and i was getting to you about girl problems and at the end of the day kind of came to a hole that everybody was intimidated by mackenzie because you were so like bold and i'm refining something super attractive about that and telling you hey never change because somebody will appreciate that one day and the whole time in my head thinking like i think i want to be the guy to appreciate that one day and so i told you it never changed and i'm glad you did that led to a summer a whole summer 2017 of me inviting myself to everywhere you were to just be a presence and to figure out if what i was feeling was real uh and if and if it was worth it and then gone i prayed my my favorite prayer that i always prayed for girls which was lord make it hot or cold and for most girls it always went cold immediately but for you the desire to see what it could be you're stronger and stronger and stronger and i'll walk that mile from our hotel to your hotel and the hilton i'll find you for before every service to just kind of slightly spend some time with you and not be too obvious but it was obvious that i was feeling you and then we get back uh from gauntlet uh before my second camp and i was thinking like either i'm gonna make this move before camp or if it doesn't happen before campus is not gonna happen you know man kurt frisbee uh like he like he always says challenges me and he's like well you won't take out a date i was like i will and so i remember uh calling you and you told me you had nothing to do that day but later find out that you got a full day plan and you put it all just take it for me to take you on a date and so we were on our first date which was amazing you got a yellow dress i forget it um then from my first date and then to september 23rd 2017. to me make you my girlfriend um and then i made a pack to myself that you were able to be the first on i said five well before you did it five years ago i was gonna kiss the next girl until she choose my girlfriend so i remember turning my hat to the back being smooth and kissing you with the cracks and then the first time i told you i loved you and then to all the lovely memories that we've shared the past three plus years from friendships to trips to traveling to fun moments to ordinary moments to walks to to crying to laughing to everything in between what we've shared together uh throughout all the high moments and low moms i know this about you without a doubt there's no one i'd rather celebrate with there's nobody else i really be comforted by but you and as we always say um i love us i love who i've become i love getting a far real seat to the beautiful woman you've become i love the relationship we fought we fought to build i love how much tips it all makes i love our guys blessed it redeemed it restored it um moments we think it will be restored i love how we both become people that at one time we never thought we'd become i love how god has answered so many of our prayers in both of us it's all that being said when i think about our future of mine and all the dreams i have for one day i cannot imagine it without us together hand in hand always figuring it out and always finding a way and so i'm forever grateful god bless me with you and brought us together and that's my favorite verse the first verse i've ever really learned in the mirage talks about romans 8 28. god he's worked it all out for our good everything we've been through everything everything he's worked it out for our good and to me this moment is just special and mckenzie paige wilburn i'm in love with you and committing to it forever with you is the easiest decision i can ever make so now after all that's been said there's only one more thing to say give me your love and
