OSS Suppressors: Helix-QD - Flow-Through®

[Music] all right everybody welcome back this is randy at oss in this video we're going to be talking about oss patented flow-through technology now often we go to shows and one of the most common questions we get is what makes your suppressors different or how do they work so in this video we're going to answer some of those questions now as many of you know traditional suppressors have been around for over 100 years using the same tried and true baffle technology now that technology has certainly evolved over the years with better mounting systems stronger materials and better geometry and it continues to work well for a number of reasons and here's why after the round is fired expanding gas exits the barrel and enters baffle chambers as the hot gas fills each chamber it continues to expand until all the volume inside is consumed the hot pressurized gas contains the blast from the fired round as long as possible before the round exits the bore this is how the sound is suppressed however physics being physics that pressurized gas finds the path of least resistance out the front of the suppressor and down the barrel into the operating system now with gas operated guns that back pressure or blow back can often be the cause of malfunctions that extra chamber pressure can also cause port pop making the suppressor not hearing safe at the shooter's ear and it can also blast a bunch of gas in your face isn't your face oss's flow-through technology was designed to suppress a firearm without the negative effects on the rifle your hearing or your health and this is how flow through technology works as the round is fired gas exiting the barrel is forced to the outside wall that hot gas continues to expand forward through a series of helical coils increasing the distance as it travels it then reverses directions abruptly as it enters a different layer of coils traveling backwards then it reverses directions again traveling forwards slowing and cooling until finally it vents out of the front [Music] because the gas isn't getting trapped there is no back pressure today oss's flow through technology is redefining suppressor performance first because of flow through technology there isn't an increased blast of gas which is also noise at the ejection port making our suppressors very quiet at the shooter's ear second because of flow-through technology there are no expensive weapon modifications needed in order to get your gun to function properly with a suppressor third flow through has also allowed us to innovate our torque lock mounting system which delivers improved accuracy repeatability and minimal shift performance fourth reduced heat and pressure means our suppressors can endure aggressive full auto fire while running cooler with no minimum barrel length restrictions allowing our suppressors to last longer than traditional baffle cans and finally because of flow through technology even our enclosed or sealed suppressors are still serviceable allowing you to increase the service life of the suppressor alright hopefully you guys enjoyed watching this video be sure to follow us on social media and make sure you leave a comment below we've really enjoyed reading some of your comments and answering some of your questions thanks for watching
