[Music] what's up guys it is the next day and uh had a busy day today so today basically started off where oh what did I do I had get the last remaining O-rings for the for mounting this whole project back on the truck and then I also stopped by Lowe's cuz they don't have craft and crow's feet I have a bunch of crow's feet but I don't have half inch I very rarely use them and over the years one got lost I mean literally I'm probably talking 20 years since I've needed one 9/16 ones I do use on Orwell for valve adjustments but half inch I don't have one so I had to basically make one Lowe's didn't carry any and uh Snap-on kit is like uh 400 bucks and I wouldn't see it for a while I want to orell out the door today so what I did is I went to Lowe's and I bought a um Cobalt one and I just heated it with a torch and bent it that'll help me get that Jake brake switch done cuz since I have I'm already in that unit I'd rather go ahead and change that Jake brake switch and finally fix that problem too all at the same time on there so I just heated a wrench bent it you know $5 wrench bent it whatever now it's their permanent but it'll work good for what I need so it's eventually I order the ones to snap on I'll be happy yeah yeah I know I know too expensive but whatever sometimes you buy tools and you never have to buy them again right all right also real quick I wanted to update you because after I got done with that and I couldn't get parts until this morning I decided to start working on Snow White and Snow White's progressing in a typical Fest Jack vehicle manner I'll show you real fast so I finished with the hood let me show you quick with the hood mounted on the truck still I'm going to have to take the hood off this truck's going to have to come apart a lot more than I originally thought so I did this side already the other day then I went ahead and did this side I still got to dig all this out the two notches in there but I have a special tool that I could use for that and then finish around the edges I didn't want to hit the truck and I was thinking I was going to save this and then repaint this but it's already cracked um found out I have to remove it because well I also found out that to take these plastic pieces off you have no choice you have to get the fender off because some of the nuts that hold this on are not accessible unless you have the fender out or take apart a lot of the truck I figured this out because well I removed the inner wheel well that exposed the engine and brake lines and all of that and uh I still can't get everything out and then I went and dropped an extension and a 10 mm socket down in a pocket that you can't get out unless you take the fender and throw it upside down or flip the truck up over on or other so apparently when this gets done oh and as you can see I already started sanding on the fender but I stopped because I don't want to hit this and ruin this this we're not repainting it matches the color around the truck so we're not repainting this so the fender got to come off and to get the fender off you got to take this front piece off and as you see it's already cracked there there's a tab on a bottom that broke these headlights could use to be redone this you probably could get away with with it but that does look kind of ugly and then of course this side so this side still holds the tab which I'm trying to figure out how to get that apart without breaking it but one side's already broke turns out LMC Truck stocks these for not a lot of money along with new headlights so I'm probably going to just order all of that probably end of this week actually already end this week so probably tomorrow or maybe even tonight not 100% so I guess the way it's going to work out is we're going to take the fenders off the front end off that's going to come off get thrown in a trash so it's be Fender Fender Hood that'll be painted on a body stand then the idea is once the fenders and the hood are off and the front end is off so the hood the fender the hood both fenders and the front clip here the front nose piece that'll be painted on body stands and then the rest of the truck hopefully I shouldn't have to take anything more than the interior out to get the plastic uh Fender overlays over the rear wheels off the rest of the truck should paint intact with just a front clip missing I don't like that idea but it is what it is but you know however it's kind of the process we started I'm not a big fan of how that's going but nonetheless that's what we're going to have to do because well what other choices do we really have um I figur let me get started on the hardest stuff to paint and body also after working on Orwell I hate to say it sounds dumb I just enjoy having the music cranked up not filming nothing and sanding and going to town and just listening to music just going in my own Zone so that's what we're going to do all right that's the sow white update let's go ahead and get working on Orwell let's go ahead and get the jake brake switch installed then we'll go ahead and put the air fuel control module back on the injector pump or actually technically the governor and then I give him a fire and then take for test drive see how we did you should be able to see it right here this is the actual Jake brake switch engines without jake brakes have an adjustment here for your curb idle there's a nut I don't know if you can see it right back there that you can't get to with a wrench there's just no way to reach it so the idea is with making this modified wrench SL crow's feet Crow's foot gets on like there now I can loosen up that jam nut and go ahead and take that out and thread the new one in this felt like it broke loose I don't want to back it out too much I want to keep the nut on there to hold the adjustment all right apparently the whole thing's going to back out now one of these days in the future we're going to take this injector pump out or get another one and rebuild it and replace it um I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to do everything that I'm planning but that's a washer that should just they know slides off and then there's the nut so I want to [Applause] do I keep the adjustment reasonable so that one works good that one's kind of gummed up I don't know if you can see that can you hear it big difference right so the idea is I want to mark it so let's get our marker I got my marker want to get it pretty close to where it was so we want to cover just cover the black from the Sharpie the way Jake brakes work I know not everybody is a truck driver and not everybody Budd is a mechanic jake brakes come on when you come off when you come off the throttle basically if you have them selected now these jake brakes are dumb it's not a computerized system like on a Modern Diesel these jake brakes will Jake it until the engine literally stalls all it all it is is three switches the power main power switch on a dash the micro switch under the pedal of the clutch pedal that way it won't turn on when you step on the clutch and the engine's disconnected and it stalls and then this switch here which simply when a throttle pushes the button it closes the switch in other words open is no circuit no power flowing closed circuit is how it is on the throttle bumps into it and shuts it off opening the switch so this is a normally open circuit well I guess in switch terminology it's normally open and when you press it it closes the circuit close circuit meaning now the power flows so we're going to thread that down to what covers the black and that's it right there we're done put the washer back on it that was a special washer wasn't it yeah so this thing leaks so much oil anyway so if anything we'll just put some uh silicone on this or a gasket chellac be done with it that's what we'll end up doing so yeah there we are just put a regular washer too all right there we go that washer is tighter on it it'll make a better seal I just put some gasket on it be done the jake brakes on this truck are actually quite simple there's a jake brake in the front part of the engine the forward three cylinders and the Jake Brak and a rear part of the engine which are the rear three cylinders it's a total of a six-cylinder engine so when you have it clicked on to stage one it's only three cylinders I don't know if it's a front or the back don't matter click it stage two it's all six cylinders so that's done by the switch inside the truck but ultimately you have to have all three switches closed for the jake brakes to fire one is the micro switch that we're changing the other is the switch in the dashboard and the other is the switch at the clutch pedals once the clutch is up the power switch on a dash is on and my foot is off the throttle it'll run to Jake if I'm sitting still running down a road to 70 M an hour doesn't make a difference soon as you throw a switch all three are closed it's done so what I did is I bypassed this switch by taking the two wires and put them together that way it's constantly a closed circuit that way now it's only two switch is the micro switch at the clutch and the one on the dash so way you see me reaching them up reaching them down reaching them up reaching them down um sometimes I'll forget and I'll hit the throttle uh especially when I first did this um it'll just blow a lot of it'll just throw a lot of fuel at it it won't ignite it it'll just throw it in hot exhaust and it just make a whole bunch of white smoke and look like crap and sound like terrible but either way so now that's what we're going to do but the the adjustment of this piece in and out is the throttle stop but the throttle stop closes the circuit that's how it works so now we're just going to thread this back into into the pump after I put some shellac on it and then uh that'll be that for this job then we'll go ahead and install the original reason we're here what's up guys Steve here I want to take a minute for working on this caterpillar to explain to you you know around here with this shop we go through a lot of laundry and I realized once Chris came on board sadly he wasn't here for this video but he is on board now for the last couple weeks and once I realize he's been here for a couple weeks I'm like damn we're going to be going through a lot of laundry around here wrecking just normal t-shirts so what are we going to do about that well my answer is real simple FSC Trucking work shirts that's right boys and girls we're releasing FSC Trucking work shirts they're going to be black button up the logo is going to be on the front right here with the logo and the name FSC Trucking the back's going to be a big logo as well in Gray so that's how we're going to do it make sure we don't have to keep wrecking our clothes while we're working hard here at the [Music] shop now boys and girls here's the best part not only that is it good rugged hard working work Weare for you guys but also if you want press them make them look real nice and show the world that you are the blue collar stud that you are cuz let me tell you something nothing looks better you come rolling up in a nice car and you're showing the world you make your money by being a loot collar hard work and stud that you are so with that boys and girls FSC Trucking work shirts available now for pre-order fsct trucking.com link right here in the description basic game plan is right around May 21 is we're going to go ahead and alter the order and match at you guys order just like we did with the Orwell Godfather t-shirts which by the way we still have a bunch in stock but what we're going to do is we're going to put the pre-order in so right now you guys between now and say about May 21st are all pre-orders the order will then be added to or taken from depending on how they sell so if you guys buy a lot of them we're going to get a lot of them it's really that simple so go ahead and check out fsct trucking.com get your Orwell Godfather t-shirt we got some OG shock shirts available and now with the all new FSC Trucking work shirts go ahead and check them out all right so I have the gaset shellac on there the [Music] that ought to do it all right let's see how we hook this up and I'm going to practice hooking it up just to make sure I get it right clean that up again it basically hooks in it just hooks on to the top I took a picture of my cell phone and that's what we got as far as how it looks on the inside it just looks on the inside there's the part number off of this o-ring smaller yellow one that one goes right there there's your numbers off of the little o-ring little yellow one that we'll go here there's your next part number for your blue one it's the third a little Bluey goes right here that's three or four give me a quick wipe down this just keeps the oil out of the from leaking past the housing although I think it would' be easier to Simply do that perfect there we go unit's happy okay I've already threaded the long bolts through hook it in and threading one bolt in as a guide Bolt notice I did not push the unit against the housing yet leaving a gap the Gap is to verify my O-rings are still in [Music] place yellow blue and yellow are both in place excellent push him against the housing thread the bolt so it can't an O-ring can't come out accidentally and tighten the big long bolts [Music] [Music] all right now you may or may not know this is your actual adjustment here and this but they're locked down we kept them the same all right now we take our cap so the air Inlet goes into [Music] it one bolt two bolt I'm not putting the gasket shellack on this one only because I want to be able to take it off and not destroy that gasket should I have to get in here and make adjustments on on it at a later [Music] [Music] time that's one [Music] there all righty now next on the agenda is that little booger right there those almost look the same but they're not I might have came with a different kit all right so now what we're going to do ahead and remove this original o-ring at least we're going to try like hell all right so now this o-ring right here got replaced with this one so we got to take the other one out I we just took all the time to fix all the Boost leaks let's not create new ones change these damn D rings come on I had it there we go old and quite brittle so the way these work is you thread this in then you tighten this 9/16 down to crush down the G the O-ring and this is I've been installed for quite a long time there that's it's all cleaned out excellent now I'll show you how to install that the right way so now this is where it's going to take some patience to set that up right tube goes in like so and lines up but you got to get that clock position of this set right before you set down the O-ring clock position meaning this twist that way or that way right I know lighting could be better but I'm just deal with what we got cuz that's all we got so this piece see that slack in that washer right there that's threaded all the way up so what we do is we set this into the housing basically all the way and if we have to back up a little we can see that's tight you can't tighten no more see it's now Twisted out a little bit now it's loose however it's the way it's supposed to be for now so we fish our tubing up in here I'm going to Loosely thread this collar onto the elbow there you go oh no no not tight little little bit of looseness to it oops I went between this injector line and there no good try again around all the injector lines come on it's caught up in wiring there there we go like that [Music] [Music] there you go it's hooked in hooked in enough I can get it around this one was real tight coming apart cuz the collar is upside down Gunk gets in the threads and Jacks it up just making sure you ain't cross threading you'll know if you get it too much put a wrench on it cuz it's too tight to finger you know to do by hand hand without a wrench but you can tell it's threading on good the threads are dirty Boyer just sits down in there in time so before I seat that too tightly see the bottom still Wiggles thread it down whoops sorry need to bump in you a damn I keep bumping in you guys snug that down slug that down that's half too okay all right so I'll seat I'll seat the top one down now hold it down spinning [Music] good now because that Ang Le is set by the tube itself now you crank down the bottom nut thus crushing the well this is no easy way to get to it I suppose maybe this way works there we go this will seat that O-ring now the O-ring is squished between that unit and the elbow that's tight that's tight everything's logged down should be good to go all righty let's bring the cab back down see how we did [Music] for [Music] all right first we're going to do fire it up see where it idles make sure everything's good aired up we'll back it outside and then we'll take it for a test drive [Applause] now I was playing with the idle because I wanted to see where would sit an idle and to make sure that I had good control of the throttle pedal should I have done anything wrong and it triy to hold the throttle open God forbid I could just cut it off if e be but that's why I was popping it playing with it making sure to think for functioning like normal once it airs up we're back them out that's all right the curve idle is a little low to sit there it'll then it'll when it tries to you know come back up so we're going to head and raise up the cab a little bit I'm going to break out Loose and we'll readjust that idle a little bit so let's go ahead and get that done all right let me ahead start it up and get to idle adjust it check for neutral sh I think I like it sit right there oh look what I found a/2 inch Crow Foot have a damn roll cart [Applause] me for [Applause]
