[Music] good morning everybody John Jr here for the last day of an extended adventure we are here still well you didn't even know we were here at junipers RV resort outside of Lakeview Oregon and I'll see if I can be quiet and see if you hear off in the distance that's right another cattle drive you just seen the other one so what's the plan today we are gonna go west of here up to Juniper Mountain to do a dig at the Red October to Oregon opal claim the claim owner Jamie has given permission dog to basically anybody who wants to come up there to dig and work this material so you know we're gonna take go on up there we don't know how much we're gonna be able to get probably not too much it sounds like there's gonna be a lot of people out there today so we're gonna do we can do enjoy this opportunity and have fun with it and hopefully we'll get some real pretty material that I can share with all of you so hang along for the ride we're gonna be up there real soon well we are up here at the parking area for the Red October to claim let me show you something that we found on the ground probably somebody left it that's what we're after so we're getting ourselves together and we've got permission to walk on up there and we're gonna head that direction okay everybody we're up here at the mine and I'm in the lower of the two pits and you can see this now by watching his videos I see why they're taking it out in such small pieces let's sweep this year way I mean that's a beautiful material there but to get it out without making it into powder because see up here is really fractured and then you'd have some more material here so as far as I can tell they're over there but to give you an idea stuff is not gonna move easily so I would like to work on getting a couple good samples out of here as quick as I can so I'm gonna sit here and clean more of this off and see which direction go so here's this here so I'm gonna work away on this and I'm gonna try to remove some of this stuff here and I'd like to get remove this so I can get down to this year I'd really like to get down to here but I don't think I have the tools to do that and that just keeps going down and down and down okay okay everybody same hole yeah I'm out of breath you got a big chunk of rock that was here out and I see this right here what I'm trying to get look there we go I want to try to preserve as much of that as I can so it does not come flying apart so I'm gonna wait for him to get up here and have him show me how to remove this hey everybody well been working at it slowly had the claim owner Jamie here getting look at it and just told me to use common sense I hope I can get this out so for now this is what I've got I mean I'm working on all that I mean this is just some beautiful material and I haven't even touched that down there and this is what I just pulled out so I'm gonna keep working at it and give the biggest chunks out of this as I possibly can I mean this seam here is pretty thick so I'm real happy with that part you know get a couple more of the bigger chunks out of it and see what we can do with it so ain't tight okay everybody I'm gonna go ahead and work on getting this big one here out you know I'm gonna recruit somebody here to hold a camera try to get this out as few pieces as possible I hear cracking so this is not gonna be very good okay so what we have here it's not as clear as the other stuff there's some cloudiness there some really nice there one there but it looks like it got a pretty good solid chunk and so now just pick out the residual pieces okay well that's work on this you can see how shiny that is okay here's the other pit and they've been finding some pretty good material out Jim down here has been doing quite well he's found some good material over here grinding away I'm just trying to make things bigger more space and hoping to find a new scene and then here's the pit that I'm working on well everybody I'm gonna call it a day before we met up here for about a half a day but you know we still have other rocks to go pick up they're out there calling our names we know this we hear it we feel it as most rock hounds do so what I'm doing is I'm leaving part of it exposed scene here for the next person I took quite a bit out of here let me show you my best find for the day I can get to it there we go I believe that yeah this is the best one for the day so this is good for the first time coming out here and then there's the other pit people are working on talk to you in a minute okay here's the top pit again some dedicated people way down the bottom down there [Music] come back down to their second pit eventually they are going to have these two pits combined and this is where I was working up and she's gonna take it over and get some beauties out of it so we're gonna come back another time don't know when we're gonna be back yeah I just kind of left that little spot behind well Jamie thank you really appreciate it so there you go everybody and day at the Red October to Orion opal mine also fire so there's still a lot of people up there we're definitely in the parking lot we're going to call it a day and we're gonna get out of here and go look for some more rocks because we know they're begging for us to him find them so for now everybody just remember everyone's life is an adventure then
