[Music] hi i'm giovanni shortag senior director of supply chain operations at oracle we moved our supply chain to the cloud in 2018. thanks to that foundation and the steady stream of new features and functionalities we've received with quarterly updates our operations are on the leading edge of innovation in the face of global events we remain future ready resilient the sem cloud framework gives us the tools and technologies we need to streamline and integrate our processes from planning to delivery and that's how we've reduced our planning cycle from three weeks to one week it helps us empower and delight employees with great user experiences in their work reducing complexities and handoffs finally it enables us to automate our processes here are just a few examples in detail we made our configure to order drop ship process more efficient when we rolled out date synchronization between supply appeals and customer sales orders and we've adopted multiple demand forecasting enhancements doing so we've reduced the levels of manual intervention and made our supply chains more robust next we've improved our user experience for employees machine learning concepts aid operators and suggested process values that are based on historic performance one area we are experimenting with as an example is assigning promise dates based on global transport times that vary with size weight and day of the week and we're leveraging big data and ai concepts that way when covet hit suppliers shut down unexpectedly material deliveries didn't arrive as planned global movements were restricted but we were aided by our ability to replan more frequently taking into account new demand statements and realistic supply scenarios we didn't have to worry about periodic batch synchronization or disconnected systems and when we had to make sourcing changes or move assembly activities we could do that with very little effort and where we needed to put inventory buffers in place to protect output we could do that easily and quickly lastly we found that the intuitive nature of the cloud applications made it easier for us to shift resources around and move tasks to groups that historically had a different focus it allowed us to respond to the pressure points of the moment but our work isn't done we're excited to continue to develop our ai and machine learning adoption to further improve efficiencies supply risk identification and intervention and execution monitoring for outsourced manufacturing after all a future ready supply chain never stops innovating and with the cloud as our foundation will continue to move forward to meet the challenges head head-on to get faster and more efficient and to bring delight to oracle's customers and employees every step of the way [Music]
