Oracle Finance Team: Journey to the Cloud

[MUSIC PLAYING] MARIA SMITH: My team and I feel very passionately that we have a unique opportunity. We're on the same public cloud as all of our customers. For the first time ever, when we deploy Oracle products and we figure out how to be the best finance operation in the world, it's not just for us. That's for our customers. We also have dashboards to tell us of the status of completion. And in addition, we have automatic matching. All of the transactions coming through Oracle systems-- for example, matched against a bank statement-- automatically done. And then what's really interesting-- we're looking at machine learning to do the rest. We will be able to automate 20,000 reconciliations here in Oracle. In many companies, you're sending 20,000 emails to get those reconciliations approved. Not anymore in Oracle. ENZO TOLINO: I think for me and my team, it's important that we stay up to date. We've been able to simplify what is effectively a very complex business. And what we have to ensure as a global finance organization is that we constantly update our tools and our processes so that we stay relevant to what we need to do.
