Open Roads Fuel Program-Your Questions Answered

hey there i'm tara and i'm part of the open roads fuel discount program with our numbers of customers growing daily we thought it would be beneficial for all existing current customers and potential new ones to have a quick question and answer session on some of the most common questions we get asked number one is tsd and open roads the same program answer is yes tsd logistics owns and operates the open roads field discount program who can apply anyone who has a vehicle that is takes diesel whether it be a truck or car rv buses or even semi-trucks but please remember you must be able to accept high flow nozzles where does the card work all major truck stops accept the card but we only get a discount at certain locations the major ones being loves and ta and petro always be sure to refer to the open roads app to look for in network locations that are around your area does the card work in canada it does but it will not save you money in canada due to the currency exchange so if you have to get fuel in canada i would suggest using a different form of payments is there a set amount of discounts per gallon no our discounts vary from chain to chain the only location that has a set amount is love and that is 28 cents off retail can i use the automotive lanes in the front or the designated rv lanes no you must go through the commercial truck lanes in the back to receive the discount the reason for this is because tsd is a logistics company and by joining our program you're officially joining our fleet which allows you to have access to these discounts so you have to go to the commercial truck links why do you need my social security number we do not do a credit check we only ask for your social for collection purposes if we cannot collect on the money that is owed to us we have to have that number to file a claim against can you tie the card to a credit card no not at this time we can only draft from a bank account by ach withdrawal the reason for this is because the fees to process the credit card is too high and it will cut deep into your savings is there a daily limit on how much i can purchase yes you can cannot go over 400 gallons of diesel purchased in a 24 hour period can you purchase def with the card yes but please remember there is no discount with def the only discounts we have are with a diesel can you purchase cat scales with card the answer to that is yes as well if you want to get a setup with cat scales especially on the way my truck app you will need to add a prompt to your car that is called driver id this will only be asked at the cat scales and not at the fuel pump your driver id can be anything you want it to be but make sure you let us know that you want to add that feature so we can turn it on your card for you what is the 65 fee on some of my transactions the 65 transaction fee comes straight from the fuel station that is not a fee imposed by us and it is a per transaction fee not per gallon why is the price you pay in oregon actually higher than what is listed oregon charges an additional 36 cents on the fuel for price for their state fuel taxes as a company we don't have the permit to be able to not be charged that tax so the 36 cents is added back into the discounted price how much do i know i saved if it doesn't show at the pump or on the printed out receipt you have multiple ways to know how much per gallon you are paying on the open roads app you'll find a list of your transactions under account carts you'll also receive an email statement from us the next business day after you fuel saying exactly how much you saved what your retail price was what our fee is and what amount will be drafted from your account how long after our fuel does it take to come out of my account usually two business days but we ask that you allow up to five business days for that transaction to come out if banks are closed for a holiday or for any other reason that also affects when the transaction will be pulled out of your account what is the difference between my pin number and my control number your pin number is a four digit code you had to call in and create when you got your card and that is how you register your card to the app your control number is what you use at the pump to get fuel and that is always going to be the last four of your social how do i change the bank account my card is associated with as of right now you either have to email us those changes or you can give us a call and we change it over the phone we are going to get the ability to be able to let you log in and do all that changing by yourself but for now you have to call in and we change it for you what do i do if my car doesn't work at the pump if you get a sales cancelled or can't process error on the pump reader you'll need to take your card inside and have the cashier run it for you if you still have trouble after that call us while you're there and we can help you we have an after hours line that is always monitored what is the freedom pass the freedom pass is a new tolling option that works directly with your open roads fuel card toll accounts are normally prepaid but with the freedom pass your account will be charged the moment you pass through the toll booth we will pull the money from your bank account by ach withdrawal just like the way we do for your field purchases the cost is a one-time device cost of fifty dollars and you can either do an annual service fee for 20 or you can do the monthly service fee of 650 per month when the toll roads are traveled when is gas going to be available we are hoping by mid-year to have our gasoline options rolled out i received an email saying my card was on hold for a payment and not being able to be collected what does that mean if you receive that email from us that means that we had a payment that we were not able to draft from due to it either being insufficient funds or the account number we have on file is bad if this happens we will put your card on a 10 day business hold from the day you let us know we can rerun the account to see if we can collect the money if in that 10 days the money is returned again for the same reason the 10-day hold starts over there will also be an individual fee draft of 15 dollars for bad account number and a thirty dollars for insufficient funds at the end of the month these are bank fees that come straight from them this will be a separate draft from your feelings once your 10 business day hold is up you can either call or email us to check and make sure everything is clear
