I watched this again after watching a version of it a few years back.
If I had a cost is no object budget, I would have gone all out on the room too but wouldn’t have designed and built my own speakers - leave that to the experts and just choose what they created. That way, I would have no qualms about moving on to another pair of speakers if I felt like it or if my DIY project didn’t meet my lofty expectations. Sure, there’s something to be said about personal achievement in DIY but there’s also the risk that what you’re doing isn’t quite right or isn’t the best that it can be.
Main issue is age of the listener.I know when I was much younger I could out pick out minute details from my system with average equipment but now with so call "audiophile" recommended pieces Im having a harder time.Kudos for these owners of $100,000+ system but for them to say this is good or that is good is really subjective.
I feel so bad for this guy. He has ALS. It sounds like he might have a little regret not spending enough time with his family and now it's all built he is dying. So sad. I hope he and his family are doing well or the best they can!
