oh [Music] hey guys good morning all right it may seem like it's kind of dark outside it's it's only about 10 o'clock in the morning it's just thunderstorming right now of course i'm in hong kong and when you're in hong kong you got to have dim sum and i want to try a couple of different spectrums of dim sum because there is a lot so i want to try a place that's really good but it's very inexpensive themselves and then i want to go to one of the fanciest dim sum places in this city so now i just need to try to get there without totally getting drenched let's go there's my eating part of virginia again come on come on so this is a very inexpensive but good option for themselves all right so we're at that right now they actually recently just changed their name at uc called linhon tea house and it is around central and it is very old school you run around with the trolleys you get your food and then they stamp it right and when you come in you got to fight for seating if they don't care where you sit so when you come in you have to go around looking for all the big tables they're all style which means there's about what three groups are sitting with us right yeah whoever looks like they're about to leave you stand behind them and you kind of just stand behind them so it's not like a line you just go and walk around and you you gauge people's uh how much chicken feet bones they have on the table so if you're from singapore you can't just leave a packet of tissues on it people will toss that well they'll use it in front of your face so we got a couple of teas in front of us and we got our our cleanings we've got the small little teapots you don't drink the first pour the first horse rinse out the dust and debris awaken the tvs all that good stuff the only thing is you don't want this to overflow because when they take it away they will yell at you again because it spills everywhere what i like to do is i like to do the teacups first so you're going to drink right here right so all you have to do is you squash it around locals actually don't use their fingers they will go ahead and use the chopsticks like that and that is basically done in my book so the goal is don't get yelled at that's like that's like part of the fun of dim sum in hong kong it's your standpoint let's go it's very fitting the first dim sum i'm eating in hong kong is the chao cho bao [Music] it was like eating candy it's like it was just stuck in the room in my mouth it's piping hot it's so soft and sweet so i don't know they have it here today but they're famous it's called thai bao it's a big big bun it's like as big as your face and they just throw everything into it i want that that was a good part oh yeah that was some tea now my hong kong dim sum experience officially began chicken feet a lot of people don't like chicken feet i didn't either because that was gross because like you know chickens walking around they're not wearing shoes or anything but um i come around oh look at this big piece of gluten sitting on the bottom all that juice is in there that's why i love gluten look at it it's like a little edible sponge oh it's such a great fight fish mall i like mmm there's some pork in here do you like the fish texture i like the texture better here because the tofu skin is a little more chewy and the pork is giving you so much juice zip that little dumpling in some hot oil i love it here you gotta be constantly aware when you're here because you're eating but it's also a battle like when the cards show up you see something you like you have to make sure you have your stamp part or else they won't give you food so if you're gonna go battle you want to make sure you have your tools it's like the real life hunger games we're all hungry and it's not a game just go get your cart i've seen people break out in fights over the shrimp dumplings this is one of my favorites i love sticky rice so this is called my guy right they also have sanji guys the guy means bigger and they'll put chicken wings you know why i love sticky rice why because i love rice but sometimes it's hard to pick it up with chopsticks this right up this is my favorite dim sum item bamboo skin wrapped around pork this is one of the greatest little dim sum dumplings you could ever have [Music] oh so good shrimp and pork little seaweed little veg they make that so well here so only a couple of places in hong kong still do this traditional shumai yeah the shuma that you usually eat is with the yellow wrapper this is very traditional [Music] that's pretty darn good pork shrimp must get dim sum item anywhere in the world hack out that's a nice shrimp dumpling the shrimp is really fresh that rabbit doesn't even need to be there that rubber is like kim kardashian's clothes it really is just like you know it doesn't cover up much but it should be there it adds a little texture right yeah really really thin melts away as soon as you put it in your mouth ah the malay cake bounce cheers this is really popular in hong kong they use the large that's the oil they use okay ring on the large chunk rice noodles this is of course another classic dim sum item and this one is stuffed with chashu so do you know why it's so slippery it's because they actually make it fresh in the kitchen yeah so just steam it and then roll it this noodle the slipperier the better the only thing i find about this is yeah i love the texture a little mulchy-esque that's great look at the size of this bun this one looks like it went in the kitchen ate a bunch of other buns and came back out the mother of mine it's about to give a fun baby it's so adorable i just want to hold it and cuddle with it let's eat it [Music] it's got just everything here shrimp pork little veggies it's a [Music] is the combo layer cake this is lotus heat paste i love a little spacer not as freeze i thought they have this in a big bun as well but i like it layered a little salty little sweet eat this drink a simple tea that'll wrap up a pretty good dim sum experience recap what was your favorite my tofu skin dumpling jam always my favorite i gotta say it really like the chicken feet here flavors good nice and tender and i think the shrimp dumpling is pretty good how about you my favorite that's your favorite yeah oh yeah i forgot about that i was good too it's a good place so this is fairly inexpensive what's our damage so far four to five hundred for both of them but we ate quite a bit so about fifty sixty dollars yeah that's not bad is that considered relatively inexpensive what you're getting the quality of food all the dishes and the decorations yeah it's pretty decent all right so thank you so much for for taking me on this really cool experience i mean this is like a really authentic place i felt like i was really in hong kong okay guys if you don't know virginia has a really cool food tour she does around hong kong so if you're in the city let her know she'll take you around and uh i don't know fijian stuff sorry that you can't join me for the luxury dim sum but i'll see you guys over there okay on my way to the next fancy dim sum so i had to dress up a little bit all the way in tst gotta take a ferry [Music] all right guys we are at yanto i have aiko here with me thanks for watching hi you're welcome and you're going to show me the ropes on like just the fancier dim sum yes i've been here a few times the food is superb and well not to mention the really nice barbecue here this is a two michelin star restaurant correct this is a completely different experience because they serve cosplay course yes so it's very different it's not like lay out everything and then we'll eat everything at the same time they make it like a western dining experience yeah and i didn't get yelled at yet so that's good for chasing after a cart but the first thing they serve is the tea which is so amazing because they actually have a tea sommelier and he made this from 10 year old aged tiago with water from tibetan mountains and like charcoal from japan and it's just nice to see how he performed his art of making tea yeah cheers can you taste the tea yeah you can taste it i mean i'm trying to like become better at it but this i mean this is a really good tea it's just like wine you look at the color you smell it and then you taste it and then we have our first course first of all the delivery is pretty amazing it's still in bamboo containers we have three different seafood champagne the first one the green one is a craft with a vegetable dumpling and the middle one is the lobster one and the last hero one you just get up is a black truffle dumpling ooh you can eat the whole yeah thingamajiggy on the bottom too i don't need coffee to wake up in the morning i need like a dim sum like that oh yeah that's so nice i love the outside wrapper like when you have a good shrimp dumpling the wrapper is really really important it's gotta be super bouncy and light that definitely is so this is like a dim sum tasting course tasty meal yes this i'm really excited about i love anything that's scalloped yeah me too yeah that was a juicy piece i wasn't expecting that it's delicate a little sweet from the scallop slight truffle flavor i don't like when the truffle is kind of overwhelming yeah i don't like that as well this is called ham sorry so there is should be some stuffed meat inside and outside is super crunchy and it's a little chewy like mochi all right i don't know about you but i like to start from uh it's really hard to pick but i want to end up with what i'm anticipating the most which is this i knew it it's not even just group but it's like scallops and shrimp in here as well yeah like uh see if it makes it dip a little chili in here oh the smell of the chili sauce is very strong [Music] that's amazing was that your favorite so far you seem to have a very like fantastical i love seafood and you can always tell whether the seafood is fresh or not i think i got a little aftertaste or something that i really enjoyed that the fish egg popped in my mouth a little afterwards but yeah you're absolutely right so incredibly fresh now we're moving into this little fried dumpling use your hands as well so that's how i love my food okay that's right guys you could you could look all proper and what's yeah yeah exactly yeah turn to like the barbaric set of us comes out [Music] i love the burst of the little bits of crispiness of the outside the dumpling then you got a little sweet burst from the shrimp itself shoe burst and one crunch we got your favorite little pear coming up oh that's amazing it's a mochi ball yeah and inside stuffed with sea cucumber this is one of the best ways i've ever even seen hamburger and it's a little sweet little salty savory fresh i need to tell you this this is not oily at all a lot of the dim sum place when they make popsicles it's so oily this one is light outside super crispy final dim sum i need some spice i need some vinegar for pork one of the meats has deepest flavor is inside my dumpling right now it is oozing juice so this here has our beef with some green pepper some garlic and some mushroom inside we use the ragged beef from australia oh my god it's like i'm drinking the juice of the meat you wouldn't expect this at a dim sum the outside of the beef is a little crispy which is really amazing oh my god that looks so good this smells so good yeah i can smell the ocean it smells like the good part of the ocean sure if you boil the ocean and there's a seafood hot pot that turns into a seafood hot but that's what you're smelling i think they're going to add some broth and this thing look at this roasted rice in the broth huge piece of fresh oyster and just most beautifully colored shrimp i just want to give my seafood a little more sauna actually yeah so crispy yeah oh it tastes so good whoa why is crispy even get soggy after five seconds of milk i've been like filming it so this thing has been sitting in my shirt for like a minute but it's really crunchy that is the real snap crackle pop right here [Music] oh that's tender this is an amazing shoe you're definitely messed with hong kong so far might need to look away for a second oh my god look it's like a desert steam engine oh it's so cool it's so cool i know it's just dry ice but still something about like the whole presentation of it this is really good love mango sago and a little pomelo my soul is satisfied like everything from atlantis i'm seriously impressed yeah you got the sea cucumber on the lane you got the wagyu they're super involved everything is not like it hits all your buttons like whatever you have a craving for this place hits it so thank you so much for taking me here you're welcome i'm really glad that you love it i love it as well there you go guys so went to a very traditional dim sum place in hong kong and then a very upscale version here in yentohan both places have such lovely features about them like you got the rustic traditional on one end and the beautiful just creative and fun on the other so that's really cool to explore both and i couldn't have been here without you so thank you for being my guy you're welcome you guys definitely check out i call instagram all the information is available for you my description box
