are you going recently I have noticed a massive amount of restoration videos on YouTube and I realized it had become an obsession of mine to watch other people clean up their mess it is great you sit down and have a coffee and we'll up I get this satisfaction of tidying up my whole garage so today I decided I would take the steps to get past this dangerous addiction and procrastination and finish that excuse me mate sorry I gotta I gotta you gotta get past yeah thank you so you can yeah and and finish the thing that means doing the most the most important necessary job in the house why I'm gonna restore this axe the first thing I'm gonna do is pour some of this vinegar in with the axe head and then like any good salad dressing I'm also gonna add a bay leaf and some pepper and then leave that overnight to marinate once the rest of the liquid turns the same car is the axe head you know there is something going on and it is time to give it a scrub down and then you have it that is the power of vinegar you know I have to try this vinegar trick on more things so now I'm gonna clean it up with this wire brush and the wire says must wear eye protection so the first thing I'm going to do is give it some glasses and then put on some classical tunes [Music] once it is nice and shiny I'm gonna remove all the rough edges on the grinder I am trying to be as gentle here as possible as I actually want the axe to still look old and have a bit of character you know keep its original charm just to give it a makeover you know like that show Queer Eye for the straight guy which I have never watched I'm now gonna file in the cutting edge if I don't trust myself doing it on the grinder then I'm going to make the handle as I thought the axe probably needs one and I'm using this piece of anonymous wood which isn't suitable for the job and I'll be cutting it out the old-fashioned way with hand tools and power tools time to give it a sand down and I find that this motion is the most familiar it gets the job done real quick now I'm just going to cut a slot in the top so I can put the wedges in and hopefully keep it all together some reason this is my favorite part then I left to a day to dry and it is looking pretty choppy now I'm just gonna clean it up and then cut myself to test its sharpness and then give it a rub down with some linseed oil to finish the job and then have it this kind of newish axe with a very oily handle and now let's go test it out in the kitchen and look at that like a restored acts through zucchini or for you Americans like a restored axe through Alba Jane or Jane or Bujang it's not a word now back to those dishes although this knife looks like it needs fixing thanks for watching also if you have money burning a hole in the side of your pocket I have now made a patreon page so you can support me making these and nonsense videos [Music]

If only the vinegar would have cleaned those damn dishes for you! I also use Rice Vinegar and it seems to work just fine for that.
