Now I See Why People Brag About Tangier Morocco

Tangier Tangier sunny day was a little overcast in the morning but now it's not that bad also today's a holiday uh green March day I was curious I was like well what is that what holiday is that basically a mass uh a mass March to the was what was once the Spanish occupied area of the Sahara it was called the Spanish Sahara for them to give it up basically and so that's today so I'm curious how that'll affect things as you see on video you still have people out shops some shops are still open and also speaking of speaking of that if you look on the map of Morocco the southern part you'll see uh you'll see a name called Western Sahara and let me speak softly so no one hears me but this is a still a disputed territory uh Moroccans are claiming it but the people in Western Sahara or in that area I should say they're claiming it as their own and so it's a sticky situation but fun fact Morocco was the first country to recognize the US as a sovereign country as their own country during Independence and also the U.S is the first country to recognize the southern part the dispute apart over here as part of Morocco majority of countries uh are not doing that so I don't know if it's kind of one of those situations where it's like hey you recognized us back in the day we'll return the favor or maybe there's more to the story but I thought that was pretty interesting but here we are I want to head inside walk around to show you the vibe and then uh but in the meantime I need to grab some energy I haven't eaten yet so I just want to head to a restaurant and grab something to eat so let me uh make sure I'm going the right way because we can go this way we're going that way and go that way so let me make sure Google Maps is telling me it's this way don't fail me Google Maps don't do me like you do me earlier hold on oh let me go don't do me like you did me earlier when I first arrived so let's enter to be a straight shot in the meantime enjoy the views [Music] oh man I thought it was a straight shot we'll go this way we'll go to the right okay 100 I went the wrong way I think it's out here they have to go out to the main strip and then take a right once we get through all of this yeah I'm pretty sure it's out this way all right here we go yeah should be a straight shot this way oh yeah oh look at this okay I think we're getting to the restaurant area see a lot of rooftop areas I smell food I smell fumes I see seats outside right over here all right and make sure I don't pass up my spot hopefully it's not packed and they also have places overlooking the water but uh I'm gonna keep it simple because you can go down this way hit up some spots I think uh where I'm going is over here actually I went the wrong way it's over here it might be this spot right here I don't know we'll keep walking this way hopefully it's not a setup uh or I'm like oh man it might be a setup oh no I'm so confused let's try it out oh yeah no that's not this one all right look at this okay it might have been the the other one let's try it let's try it [Music] okay I think I see you right here I see the sign restaurant Island hopefully it's open should be right over here in other cities it was common to see Arabic and French you're gonna see a lot more Spanish up here gets to get a lot of Spanish tour so in this area but I'm gonna keep it simple I'm trying to get whatever this is I saw pictures of this okay tonight I'm gonna keep a light everyone's different I know some people like more luxury more luxurious areas but I love the mom and pop and then man I'm telling you right now these olives are growing on me and these are delicious they have like some seasoning or something on them herbs got the cider bread and the main meal is coming remember I kept it simple and she got a soup all right so just keep that in mind definitely the local spots my favorite right off the side street we have the main restaurants to the left of the Rooftop but these mom and pop these are the best all right here we go mint tea obviously check and then here it goes just uh a little appetizer fish soup then I ordered another round of olives got the bread right there oh yeah we're gonna be eating good guys [Music] [Music] bam that dollars we're going to talk about it guys we're gonna talk about it oh that hit the spot guys I can't lie to that hit this spot I don't know what kind of soup it was it was fish soup but the seasoning the the herbs all that stuff this yeah so definitely you know if you did I have the best outlook on on the food here definitely try out some of the mom and pop shops I think that's what it is the the main restaurants the tourist ones those aren't the best places to eat you know local food from whatever country that you're in hold on forgot which way to go we're gonna go left side we're gonna go right in the middle right here people don't know how I played running back in high school and college so I know how to hit the whole body weave ah yeah but definitely delicious delicious and delicious so let's check this spot out it's my first time here I'm gonna walk to another area hopefully I don't get lost again but let's check out this spot because you can go down this way but we're gonna go down this way in a second let's walk up here holding there a lot of cats but from the areas I've been in the cat seem like they're well fed I see people uh feeding them oh yeah okay all the spots are taken let's go over here all the good spots are taken oh I got the photo pick right there oh how do we get over there look at this hope I'm not in the way I don't know how it's showing on screen how do we get okay you have to go down that way and then go up or you probably just climb down there I'm not gonna do it oh yeah check out the views over here always another cat I wonder if we can go up there one thing about this Medina that's different than some of the other ones I haven't noticed any Motors flying through here could be because it's Sunday but I doubt that I just think some Medina's are more chill than others and definitely every twist they return there are Instagram potential photos hostel right there if you want to stay at a hostel I think my hostile Days Are Over I started off in a hostel when I started traveling I think uh those days are over this was before YouTube hello hey hello hello I go this way all a whole bunch of Tours tour groups pretty sure that's the destination oh I can see the water right now I'm sure the views are amazing we got restaurants up there oh yeah [Music] oh sorry sorry yeah oh yeah oh yeah yeah I get the views all right best views right here we saw some other ones but these are better support very important port city and I'm 100 sure streaming here right there I see a ferry straight ahead right there is uh Espana Spain 100 positive that's it over there I don't know if you can see it on the field with my own eyeballs that I can see I can see Spain we have the boardwalk that leads straight to the beach and then there's a I don't know if that's another city or another area over there keep in mind this video these videos who have been super chill I have not showed you know I barely touched the service when it comes to Tangier there are other places I heard it like Hercules cave something like that yeah cueta which is probably like somewhere I don't know the other side over there then you have um one of those other beaches I mean just other attractions but I'm not going to be able to get to them this trip I'm not gonna be able to get to them this trip let me just show a few more clips it's like beautiful this is the uh west side of the Medina or maybe I'm not in the Medina anymore I don't know but beautiful foreign I'm still walking and uh I'm pretty sure I'm not in the Medina anymore but cool you gotta Park here with a ton of uh outdoor seating like a green area over there then you got these courts
