Not realizing your wife is a murderer

is there going to be anything that hems you up or ties you absolutely nothing none the 8th of September 2017 things were looking bright for Taylor Wright a 33 year old recently divorced private investigator although she was dealing with a stressful divorce she had just moved in with her girlfriend and was excited about this new start in her life on the day in question Wright went out to spend the day with her friend Ashley MacArthur right at MacArthur as well as MacArthur's husband Zach all knew each other from their working as private investigators as the day progressed Wright's girlfriend found it increasingly difficult to get a hold of her until communication ceased entirely this caused considerable worry as this wasn't typical for right when it was discovered that her young son was also unable to get a hold of her it was clear to her family and friends that something was seriously wrong MacArthur told police that Wright had become increasingly distressed throughout the day and eventually left in an Uber MacArthur later added that Wright had given her thirty four thousand dollars to hold for her earlier during her divorce proceedings and had picked it up that day what's Wright's ex-husband was cleared as a suspect attention turned to the last person known to see her alive Ashley MacArthur during a search of Wright's phone the police discovered that the records of Wright's location did not match MacArthur's story authorities zeroed in on MacArthur and began searching her at her husband's bank and phone records they soon learned that on the day that right was last seen alive Ashley had made numerous calls from another property owned by the macarthurs in a different part of town than where MacArthur originally claimed to have been additionally authorities learned that MacArthur had deposited rights thirty four thousand dollar check into her bank account after two months of investigation and paperwork they were finally able to do a thorough search of the MacArthur's various properties with great sadness and very little surprise it wasn't long before they made a gruesome Discovery a human skull with a bullet hole that's fun huh yeah damn a lot of shit's going down in here right yeah I haven't been in this room a little bit you ever interrogate anybody in here years I mean I've been when people yeah yeah I left in like 2012. okay um I had to use the force incident in the sheriff didn't see how everybody else backed me up didn't really you know this year yeah somebody died no I just was coming into jail and I had a guy resisting he basically tense out had him under his own tenses up on me and ton of turns at me and then I take him down and had to have some invested I had to have some stitches and FDLE backed me up I mean everybody but the sheriff just didn't Jesus dude yeah that's it I had everything together I had an exemplary career nobody ever complained just the sheriff had a problem with it and what's that did he have something else in here no he just he just he just really know the law enforcement experience you know he just said he don't know you know good is his background Air Force it was never a company no and I mean I get I appreciate what he did in the Air Force you know anybody in the military but never he's never been a cop ever well how can you be in the sheriff because you've done anybody can run well I understand that but practically speaking it's like yeah he's a nice guy just is he yeah he's only been nice to all of us what's he uh what are you doing here I don't remember I'm still with him right now yeah false arrest [ __ ] a case for a friend of mine should be saying should be calling any attention to himself if you know what I mean but they kind of did him dirty deputy peden he's out I can't tell him I even wanting to get this done so at least you know what who is who's 777-1266 -1266 it says Prestige next to it that's uh the problem investigator that was here earlier what else that was where our your office earlier with us oh okay okay that's the phone number got it okay MacArthur waits for the interview to officially start chatting nervously he knows he wouldn't be there if the police didn't have any kind of evidence to go on but at this point he cannot wrap his mind around the possibility that his wife is involved in a murder foreign [Music] Something's Gonna probably have the flex but he said he thought it would take more than an hour I thought that was kind of well tarlanda was the girl that came in with you yeah that's it well who's Prestige that's her business oh okay my bad my bad and she does she's a PI right got it okay okay it's Prestige investigations or whatever yeah okay I was losing my mind but it was somebody else probably being recorded right now there it is he said if we need to get out and talk anything yeah foreign foreign foreign all right well I appreciate you coming in here obviously you know what this is all about try to get you in and out as quick as we can I know you got things to do you've got things to do yeah I actually have to be a quart of 130 but if we get past that I'll figure something out okay well just um um you know we're gonna kind of go over just what all information you may have for us to help the situation out um so I'm just going to jump right on into it um can you tell me how you came to know Taylor um through working uh Pi cases and when was that did you I don't know it's probably been over a year maybe she she was working she and I both were working with Greg Sievers we worked some cases together and then I worked maybe a couple for her because out of Pensacola here yeah okay I mean but we worked in Santa Rosa and where you know where wherever the cases were that's it we just became friends okay and in that time did you guys ever have a falling out or never um I from from doing this job for so long I just Taylor was not she just wasn't like I would just pick her up pick up little lies from her so and it just stuff just didn't start seeming right and and uh she would disappear for days that you couldn't get her on the phone Greg and I would try to call her you couldn't get her on the phone and um so she she'd come over to our house every now and then she met my wife they became friends and I remember asking my wife I'm like you think she's got it MacArthur his wife and the victim were all involved in private detection or work in connection with law enforcement which has the potential to make this case even more difficult to solve since they are familiar with the procedures and methods and the best way to get around them MacArthur doesn't paint a flattering picture of right but it is too early to tell if those were his genuine Impressions or if he is trying to make her disappearance sound like it would be in character drug problems she would go in the bathroom for a while I mean longer than normal so I started figuring out that maybe maybe she had a drug problem I don't associate with that I'm still trying I'm still trying to get on with an agency I don't I don't go around that for years I didn't talk to my own brother because of the lifestyle they live like I just don't I mean you know me I don't associate with with people that so I cut ties with her I took her off my Facebook and I quit talking to her when's the last September I know when I was in DC in April or March Ash and I were in DC and she's she was wanting to go in our house to either do a report or print something out and I was like no you know you're not going in our house I mean just I just had bad feelings about the girl something um and I just didn't I didn't want to I didn't want her you know going in our house if we wasn't there and uh Savannah was still there with a friend so I told Savannah to lock the door because a lot of times we just left the door unlocked at the house and I didn't want her to just go on in there so um and then our she the last two texts that there was probably a few months back I don't know how many months she texted me one time hey can you call me I never responded to her and then one time she texted me said hey I got a job somewhere so and I never responded back to her so I just I cut to us with her now do you know if Ashley and Taylor continue to have a relationship they did and and Ashley's the kind of person that will go out of her way to help anybody I know Ash was helping her move from her girlfriend's house you know removed from one girl's house to another girlfriend's house and I know they stayed in touch like that and I told Ash just you know just don't bring her around me because I don't I'm trying to get hired on I just I thought she had a drug problem um Ash kind of thought did you ever see anything though she carried her back she had a little bag that she just kept would she just guarded with her and I just knew that something wasn't right um I knew um have y'all thought it to Jess wood at all about her I have not they were hanging out for a little bit how far back does that go just before Jess started dating this new girl so um and I know that there was a night that that Taylor was staying at Jess's house and she just disappeared for hours and me and Jess both were like something's up for her I mean something is just wasn't right with a girl and we just didn't trust her me and Jess were like man you know Jess was like yeah we don't need to be around her so well do you know how recently Ashley and Taylor were still we're still friends hanging out talking on the phone whatever I I thought they were trying to help I remember Taylor she said Taylor moot used the her box truck to move stuff and just ended up leaving leaving her belongings in the truck and I was like when is she gonna come get all the stuff out of your truck you know and it was still I think it's out of the girlfriend's house from what Ash told me for a little bit until they took it to the to their office on Pace Boulevard that was kind of around the time now when did you find out about that that she went missing uh when the city come by and they were like hey that she's been missing and they said the ash was one of the last ones to to be around her so they just wanted to come do a walk and I was like come on in and I told them then I was like man I think the girl's got a drug problem you know she's she may be off somewhere doing some dope or whatever I said but I said she's not quite honest and and I think she's got a drug problem you know was that Patrol that came by or no that was uh you know we'll hide in uh I can't remember his super nice guys um they come through walk through the house and and uh then ash left with them to go get a statement and that was it um was that when she ended up they took her phone or whatever I think so okay I think I think volunteering do you know if Ashley and Taylor were ever in a romantic relationship you're not online girls Ash did not like girls but now Taylor Taylor said I mean I know she was married and I've heard her say she dated dudes but I never saw her nothing but all she talked about was girls that's it um so no they no no I Ash didn't she didn't she didn't like girls and he had I mean no she no I don't see that MacArthur strongly denies that there was any romantic attraction between his wife and right but given his relationship it is unlikely he would be able to admit even to himself that it was a possibility no evidence supports that scenario but every motive must be examined no matter how weak well I mean I'm sure now you've read the news and everything yeah so you know it's flying everywhere and I've read all kind of yes so you kind of know the date that we're talking about have you had a chance to go back and pinpoint where you were on the 8th of September it's very I can't remember [ __ ] but I'm trying to do the very best I can so I could tell you all the best I can um I know I ate at lunch at the seafood um I went to the bank yesterday to pull my statement I know I ate lunch at the seafood place at Nine Mile in Pine Forest right there and I remember eating by myself and I remember Ash not being able to make it because she was tied up with work because I am by myself um I don't know if it was before after that I went by a friend's house Jennifer Rollins um back up just said how did you end up pay for cash or did you use it oh wait for my debit card that's generally what I use is that one that's the only thing I got is that debit card and and who was that through Wells Fargo so you're going to use your debit card there yeah okay now what were you doing up I mean I I eat there all the time I mean I I'm from up that way so I know people everywhere up that way um but I did go to by Jennifer's house I think before before that now Jennifer Jennifer yeah anything that was before lunch I think so yeah is that just a friend of yours yeah do you have a phone number for her how long do you think that you were with Jennifer and I I don't remember maybe maybe an hour Now where's her house at off of uh Bowman go down Bowman that thing starts with a w I can't remember I mean I can remember how to get there but how do you get there um you turn off Nine Mile go north and then you go up a couple streets take a ride and then you go to visit waldridge maybe waldridge you remember Robin Waldron Waldrop something like that I was there maybe an hour and I think that's when I I went to eat and um before or after I don't remember if I went I'm thinking I went to eat after I'm not paused I'm not 100 so that I I went to the bank yesterday pulled my statement um to try to figure out the best I could did you bring them in no I forgot okay you have them though yeah you willing to hand those over absolutely okay no problem all right so were you trying to make arrangements with Ashley to meet up for lunch yeah I'm just always you know if she yeah I mean I love you know would have loved and she just said she was tied up with work okay all right and do you remember what you did after eating lunch um I guess I went home um I I have a charge on there for Popeyes that night so I remember at some point going to Popeye's Chicken on Cervantes and I remember I had the doors off my Jeep and it was a little chilly um and I remember having to wait on my food for a little bit so um I went to Popeyes and I was by myself Josh went home so do you know where she was a lot of times she would uh hang out at the pool hall up there at sticks or whatever with her girlfriends or whatever so it may be there I don't I mean I don't I don't remember if she come on the grandmother Lynn Milton is that right did she go visit her very often just when we go over there okay do you know if she went out there any time without you back in September okay um would your grandmother have told you would have been unusual and she just said yeah yeah she would have told me you know anybody that lives out in Milton just my parents and boy daddy Boylan you know um I mean yeah I mean I'm I don't know anybody else off top of my head but yeah I mean yeah while we're on that topic um at one point in time the family or you there was a farm that was out that was her family's Farm out there Ashley's yeah I mean but have you ever been out there you um the farm out there in Milton it's been years do they still own it her family does yeah I guess her uncle owns it since the farm is owned by his wife's family it is reasonable to believe that MacArthur has access still it would be odd if he was found there without his wife which still leaves the question of whether or not he took that risk was an accomplice or has no idea about the crime whatsoever where where is it East East Milton by the railroad tracks down there on where the Sheriff's Office yeah yeah like you're going to Harold or whatever yeah yeah um do you know anything about this money that Taylor had given you all no absolutely not she's never given me anything absolutely but I mean I've read in the online or whatever what what you're talking about no I've I've never got anything like from that from that no okay do you do you know anything about your Finance I'll be honest I give her when like when I work a case or like and I I got a uh uh settlement for my attorney I hand it straight to Ash she takes care of everything how much was that checked for uh one check was almost 50 and the other check was almost 10 so almost approximately 60. I handed it straight to her uh you didn't ever you don't want I've never even logged in yeah that's what I'm saying never looked on the calendar or gone to an ATM and pulled up account balance or you know the only time I've ever went to I went to an ATM like if my if I got a new ATM card because I've I've had some that went bad or whatever and I no never I don't I don't mess with it whatsoever she always did and those checks that you said that were yours that you signed over when was that [Music] um one was in March and the other one was in July oh the big one first or the small one first and then the small one okay and who was the attorney on that John Gannon is he here yeah okay do you know anything about your bills as far as how much you owe on credit cards or anything she pays everything she takes care of it all every single bit of it is there any indication that you guys are in financial trouble no I no I thought I'm living off my uh settlement I just gotten plus she works every day I mean I haven't worked in a few months doing the pi stuff but I no I didn't maybe had any Financial at all no I mean I just got sixty thousand dollars I don't have you checked to see if that money is totally understand everything's gone where do you think it went I don't know when did you come to find out that your money or the money that was in your account or y'all's account um I guess after all this investigation started in in the room I don't know if I don't know who said that hey all the accounts are dry and I hear she's got like 13 accounts I didn't know that you know but I mean she runs she runs her business so I don't know I don't I don't have any clue about the our bank account other I she pays everything everything a bit of it do you know how much money she makes I heard her mother say one time that her mother said 45. her mother told my buddy Derwood Derwin told me that she made 45 I mean I thought she thought she did well we've never really talked about it you know I just never I just thought she did well with that business they've had that business forever and you know that's it I feel stupid now not knowing you know one thing to think about this in layman's terms a reality I mean all right the things you were able to do and the things that you have when you think forty five thousand dollars would cover that I'm just assuming that she did very well with the business because I mean she was she ran that business you know it used to be your dad's business she ran the business and you know I knew I got my money from my uh settlement so I didn't think we had any any problems whatsoever well what about prior to the settlement Financial wise prior to March and then whenever you said I just thought we were living off the money she made okay we really I mean I don't think we've been doing much in the last year or so I mean I've been going off with my sheepdog people you know and they they fund all of that they've done a lot for me you know they they fit that so I haven't haven't and all I've been trying to do is like I've been out of town trying to get some jobs at some other agencies and stuff like that so MacArthur has very little to do with the household finances while it is a foolish Choice it is a criminal and if his wife is guilty it was probably something she took into consideration when she was making her plans okay um the property up on Bright road and that's owned by her aunt local have you ever been out there yeah when's the last time you think you were out there the last time I went out there is when I treated my four-wheeler for a side by side and that's the last time I bet before that it was I couldn't tell you um but when was that a couple months back do you think that it would have been before this happened or after probably before and and do you know anything about it trailer I've got a little bitty trailer that that is my side by side wouldn't fit on it so I just left it out there I was going to get her cousin to maybe replace the wood on it or whatever okay now her cousin Kyle yeah do you know him not very well no no have you met him a few times yeah yeah I mean I've been around him he's come over to the house you know and we went to a wedding out there you know I don't know beginning of Summer whenever whenever his brother got better um that's it okay when do you ever talk to him on the phone um I talked to him he called his mom called me after Ash got arrested and she told me hey something about getting Kyle's number and I called text call and say hey here's my number if you name me or whatever and that was it prior to that have you ever spoken to him on him I don't believe so okay do you have his phone number saved in your own not until the other day okay um now that property on Britt Road I understand that Ashley has a horse or maybe Savannah has a horse out there does she go out there and check on the horse ever from when I yeah I mean I should go out there all the time and check on the horse or feet you know I mean yeah I mean I'm so yeah I actually go out there and feed the horse or whatever they could do with the horse you know I didn't never fool with it so how often do you think that she would go out there if you just I guess I don't know do you remember the last time that you knew she was up there um I know she had to bring me a key to get in the gate to get my four-wheeler out when I traded with that guy even trade no I I paid 1500 bucks and my four-wheeler you're out of check um out of your account yeah that's the only one I used because I made out to an individual yes yeah yeah do you remember who that was no but I remember him living off and on my road did he own a business he said he buys and sells [ __ ] all the time I don't I don't remember what he said he did [Music] your phone number the 554 number do you always keep that on you I reckon do you ever loan it out to anybody no okay would you ever loan it to anybody or no do you remember Ashley ever using it taking it with her no never okay did it ever get lost or stolen or anything and get replaced no not that I recall okay um do you know a friend named Audrey yeah that's Ashley's room and do you know how she knows Audrey comes from the pool hall have you ever met her before come to your house or she'd come over a few times with Ash would you say do you say close friends yeah okay have you spoken to Audrey at all since all this happened no who else does she hang out with at that pool hall Jessica of Herbert Jessica and the guy that owns its Brandon and um she She and Him kind of hooked up back in we kind of had an open relationship I'm sure you already know that um so and I'm assuming they would hook up every now and then or whatever and um and then so whoever hangs out up there at the pool hall I've never been in there so okay you never I take that back I went in there maybe over a year maybe when I went out collecting with Ash before we had to go in there maybe over a year ago something like that did you never hung out yourself no no no now this Brandon guy I mean what's let's be honest here they had a relationship I didn't know they had a relationship I thought they were just hooking up every now and then I didn't know if they had a relationship he uh I talked to him before he he told me that she was lying to him she was lying to me and I thought they were done and then he called me when I was in DC and said that you know with Tony hey she got arrested and that they were um that they I guess they were still talking or whatever and I had no idea you know I mean I didn't care if she you know just was hooking up with somebody but I mean I I wouldn't want her to be in a relationship with nobody you know did he tell you anything about anything that she had bought him yep what did he do he said that she bought him a motorcycle giving someone a motorcycle is hardly typical of a casual relationship and such a large gift indicates that Ashley MacArthur is less than responsible with money eventually that sort of habit catches up with you there's a reason why money is one of the main motives for murder [Music] no he said that she no but he just he said that she had bought him a motorcycle and was and bought some of them other girls a couple things or whatever and that was it the girls from the bar yeah and I'm seeing them make her friends or whatever that that's all that's all I remember do you know what those items were for the girls he said a laptop has Adam did he say anything else about it I mean did he because Brandon kind of likes to talk he just kind of says whatever y'all I was I was so stressed out and upset like I was so shocked when he told me that she had bought and I didn't know whether to believe it or not and I still don't it's hard for me to believe and swallow that she would buy him something like that you know and it I mean it it hurts me you know I foreign have you talked to him any since then no I don't think so I don't think so have you heard from any of her friends no no no he did he said he he said he would he's going to come to talk to the Sheriff's Office maybe he called me twice I don't remember it was either once or twice I I don't remember I was I was very very upset so I really don't if it was either once or twice and he said the Sheriff's Office wanted to talk to him and that he had hired so I don't know some attorney and I'm like all right you know when was that um I guess the evening or afternoon that she got arrested how did you find out that she got arrested okay do you remember what time of day that was it was during the day because I think I was it was during the day and she said she had come home and then they'd come back over there and pick her up did you know that she was going up to pbd yeah she said she was going to get her phone back um I mean when you find out all this happens what'd you say I mean I was just in shock I mean I didn't know what to do I was in shock I didn't know I felt helpless and I didn't know what I was just then I couldn't I couldn't eat I couldn't I was just I mean it's my wife you know I I love her very much I didn't I didn't know what to do I felt helpless and did you ever think about maybe what happened to Taylor while she was missing I honestly just figured out I I was just thinking I knew I I knew I knew that she had that drug problem I really thought you know and I remember her did you assume that or not her girlfriend told Ash that she did now I remember her that's Cassandra girl yes so I was like damn I knew it I never wrong judging people ever ever I was good at this job and you know I was um so Cassandra told Ash and I was like I knew it I knew she had and I don't know what it was I don't know what she was on whether it was coke or heroin or what and because I whatever it was kept her you know would we wouldn't be able to get in touch with her for days or whatever Greg we couldn't he would call me and have you talk to her I'm like nah man you know I ain't talked to her either and um Greg had heard she had a dope problem too um and uh but Cassandra told Ash that and that's I remember thinking to myself I knew it so I think Taylor was strange I mean she would just disappear you know she disappeared from Jess's house that night and I figured she was off just doing some dope somewhere what kind of drugs her I think her girlfriend said cocaine okay pass out I don't know and I just y'all I don't I don't associate with people like that whatsoever but I don't want to be around them well I mean the one thing that that you know we do know is for a period of time that Ashley was communicating and was pretty tight with Taylor at some point yeah MacArthur brags about being a good judge of character but he shouldn't Pat himself on the back just yet as more information about his wife is revealed it's safe to say that he will be questioning his judgment for a long time to come so and was that done away from yeah just don't I said I just don't bring her around our house I don't want to be around her and Ashley just ash is the type of person she don't like confrontation she don't want to she probably she you know she don't want to argue with nobody anything like that you know she probably you know um yeah I I told Ash I don't want to be around her so I don't want to be around anybody like that I mean I cut my own brother off because because of that so that ain't me I don't roll like that now the day that Taylor disappeared do you remember talking to Ashley on the phone or anything I'm sure we I mean we we talk periodically throughout the day do you remember talking on the phone to Ashley hearing that Taylor was in the background sometime at that I don't remember that I thought she was helping Ash or helping Taylor move those few days or there was some time right then that she was helping Taylor move quite a bit and Taylor had to borrow the box truck or something like that so but do you remember and you may not remember what day it was some Converse you were speaking Ashley on the phone and you heard Taylor in the background and you knew Taylor was with her no I don't remember that no okay um oh did Ashley start smoking cigarettes recently or something I don't think she ever quit to be honest okay so when she spoke um like some kind of generic brand I don't remember um I don't know if it was like a new parts or it wasn't or I mean Salems or Salem's new Salems okay yeah all right got one thinking about it um going back to the day we were asking your timeline about when you went and ate seafood and then you went to this one girl's house or whatever the day of the eighth what were you driving that day my Jeep you're a Jeep and um where were the other vehicles I don't know I don't I don't remember what Ash was in I know Ash was around that time using my truck to help pay remove I know that I know I was driving my Jeep okay so there was a period of time that Ashley would drive the truck yeah yeah I know she was driving my truck then to help Taylor move around those days when Taylor was moving around those days and she asked was driving my truck to help her move and you were driving your white Jeep or your black guy whichever one Ash was driving was in at the house okay so it wasn't in the shop or anything like that unless it was I I got a lift put on it at some point and let's I don't remember I don't think so I don't I don't think so and and a cigarettes did she smoke regular whites menthols I think I don't know much about it I ain't never smoked my cigarette so I mean I think they were menthols but I ain't sure but I've seen I mean I've seen her smoke different brand you know different brands you know but most of the time it was the uh sounds yeah yeah okay did you ever know where to drink during the day no do you drink beer no she hardly ever drank she um she she um she told me she would have a shot up there at the pool hall every now and then but that's it Ash didn't really drink did you use drugs no no I wouldn't stay with her I ain't down y'all I'm not down like that I don't I don't I don't like I don't man I'm a cop through and through I don't I don't [ __ ] around with that I don't want nothing no part of it I wouldn't I wouldn't if I wouldn't stay I would not stay with somebody that does that do you ever recall um did you ever sign any signature cards or anything to be put on an account I mean the accounts that I'm on I mean man I've been on those accounts for so long I mean Ash could have brought probably um I'd never go to the bank Barry seldom so I mean I never I mean I couldn't tell you the last time I've been I don't Ash deals with all of that every single bit of it did uh why did you end up canceling your credit card with what credit card you get canceled a credit card and it was reported stolen or claimed to be stolen of that nature my debit card I don't know if it was a debit or credit oh I've had a good credit card all I've had is a debit card just just one I've had probably three over and it's but it's from the for the same account so they just send me another one money is missing from their account his wife was using one of his trucks during the time of Wright's disappearance and MacArthur still can't connect the dots a bit concerning given the fact that he is a private investigator but sometimes when you're too close to a situation you're unable to see the obvious uh one of my strip kept stopped working and it wouldn't um it wouldn't it wouldn't work so well and going back the reason why I asked you about uh if you'd ever signed a signature card or anything because you Ashley and Taylor were all on an account together I asked the lady at the bank that yesterday I asked her because I've read that online and I said what account am I supposedly on with them to and she told me it was that purely Southern account and that that Taylor got put on there by a form okay but did you sign a form to be put on that account I'm sure Ash put me on that account when she opened it well what is that it was a large little t-shirt business that we tried to Asphalt with a little bit years back or whatever but I'm not I don't I don't I don't use that account okay but I was on it because it was just our little in case I needed to for the business or whatever but I never never did I never okay um do you own any nine millimeter yeah handguns what kinds just one or or um yeah you know when I've got a lot of guns so a lot um one I think one Glock nine uh what model 19 19 okay do you still have it y'all got it what do you have it okay I don't know if we got it or the city whoever I mean from what I read off the thing they they got my glock my Sig my other Glock 45 um I can't remember I mean there's a bunch of [ __ ] on there uh do you know how Taylor died for Ackerman told me that the girl was shot and he got it he heard that from or anything of that nature man over the years um yeah yeah um I bought her a 380 one time what kind PPK okay bbks or PPK and it sat in a box on the bookshelf for I don't know how long um and uh yeah yeah and does she carry a firearm I haven't seen her one in in quite a while not at all do you own a 38. I'm here wait yes and that I mean she used to that's the last thing I ever remember seeing her with was a 38 Airway and that was I haven't seen her with that and I don't know how long holster it unholstered or um ah thank you it was in a Glock leather holster [ __ ] oversized holster or something yeah how did she carry when she would carry oh I'm sure she'd just throw in her car or whatever I don't know did she carry a purse or anything like that you know she would put it in her purse I never saw a gun or hers um as far as your truck is concerned the 250. is there any reason for blood to be in that vehicle no no I mean maybe deer blood in the bag you know or pig or something like that that's it MacArthur denies any knowledge of or involvement in the murder MacArthur doesn't show any shock or curiosity when they ask if there might be blood in his truck he is probably thinking it is a scare tactic to get him to talk but he still should be more concerned there's nothing on the inside absolutely not no okay um I think I'm Masters did you kill or participated um did you kill or participate or do you have any knowledge zero Jason absolutely none I don't want to be nowhere near it no nothing involved with it nothing I know nothing about it what have you ever heard anybody mention of a black guy who goes by the name of tea or anything of that nature nothing no all right you and the car is not going to be declined or or anything of that nature you know what I'm saying if it was over a hundred dollars or something I might would go hey can I you know get this because I I knew that I didn't think she put she told me that the my money was maybe in savings or something like that and I think she kept around a thousand dollars in our account something like that but I mean that's I didn't think we I had no idea we had a money problem whatsoever none just as long as you are here is it fair to say just as long as you were able to do the things that you did you never questioned it or I thought she made plenty of money at working at the shops I never gave me a reason to question anything well and and then we you talked about early on I mean you know you worked here at the sheriff's office we don't make a whole bunch of money and I mean 45 000 you know is you know middle to lower middle income you know and I mean I mean I know I couldn't run my household off of 45 Grand I'm assuming she made more than that and I really do I mean I thought she just did very well with that business I had no reason to question it whatsoever none none what do you know about uh James Hayes who James Hayes is that that old dude that that uh the guy who lives at the shop helps them move equipment and [ __ ] how long has he been in the picture um months I mean months she said he was she helps him move he helps move stuff at the at the shop and he just kind of showed up one day or what she met him he was working for that Brandon guy and he did he just did work for them just odd and jobs and I guess she got him to help at the shop and then kind of he's got what a little pallet or he sleeps somewhere from what I understand right there at the shop yeah would you ever go to the business over there did you ever see him um yeah I had my uh my lawnmower and shit's over there you know stuff like that and I remember uh there were some pool table stuff in the garage I took to the shop and just anything I wanted to get out of the way of the garage I took to the shop you know just to get out of my way at the house and then I would just you know put it there and he I'd seen him there before did y'all pay him or anything like that I'm sure Ash did um I'm sure she paid him to to do whatever the detectives try to gauge how much MacArthur knew about the financial troubles he and his wife were having but it sounds like he has very simple interests in life and as long as things float smoothly he didn't pay much attention he has no idea what things cost or how much money was actually being spent his shock is genuine but it was avoidable if he had only paid attention what about did did he build a deck yeah for you yeah he built Our Deck okay how much was that do you recall I don't ask you to care all that um what are you thinking a deck like that would cost I don't know I'm not he did a good job though he did damn good job he did and he all by himself so it took him nine days that's pretty damn good I mean I don't know how many days it took me but it's it's not he did a good job well I mean I'll tell you this just to have a ballpark I mean it was seven thousand in materials for the deck and he said that he was paid by y'all four thousand to build it so eleven thousand in a deck I mean that's a big old deck man and is raised I mean Wood's expensive uh yeah I had not wow I guess that's what the reason why I'm telling you a few of these things is just I don't know maybe you you're just oblivious I was just uh I just didn't have no no reason to question or even I just she kept me in the dark man I didn't I didn't I had no idea were you ever laid on any of your vehicle payments I don't I I'm on my Credit Karma app it shows one of them uh one of them late and I asked her about it and she said that was it huh and then that was that yeah yeah okay let me see man she took care of all financing man paid it paid for everything every bit of getting trips paper that you'd say she paid for that too most of the time we went anywhere together I mean she used her card and I didn't I never used mine unless she just left her purse in the car or something like that I I guess too when I was going back to being oblivious like if if you wanted something if you were going to make a purchase over you know whatever standard grows for you know two three hundred dollars at Walmart for groceries or an outfit or something but I I mean you never inquired about hey do we have the money to pay for this I would the only thing I would ever ask her is hey is this going to put us in a bike can I get this or is this going to put us in a behind or whatever and she's like no it's fine because you're trying to buy a truck right I was but evidently the financing and that truck was what 70 000 or 60 something 60 Grand 60 Grand Where Are You Gonna trade your truck in okay but the payments from what I understand were going to go down so that's the only reason I was gonna my truck had some problems in the past and I was worried about it's a Ford I was worried about it having some problems I was like [ __ ] man maybe I can end the the financing for what I understand that was going to be the same payment so I thought you know why not or the payment was going to be less is what what they said what or what she told me along those lines many child support and are you current on all of that I am now okay what well I mean the other day I guess it's it's several times that their computers is is absolutely ridiculous the child support people so evidently the other day they showed me behind or or whatever and then they they were going to do a uh [ __ ] I don't know what what do you call a purge or whatever so she went down and called it up for me now when would that have been I don't know several weeks ago or so okay maybe maybe a month do you know how much money you owed they said I owed 1200 bucks but we had just paid that's all the child support places it's always difficult what is your monthly child it's 250 even every month 250 yeah and who would pay that by check um sometimes by check or sometimes by uh the last few times was by card and you just assumed that monthly from the time y'all been together however long you've been paying child support it's just done yeah would you ever intercept any mail if something came in that said yeah I would get somebody around there and not go down there and they're like hey your your child support um hasn't been paid so we'd go down there either I'd go down there or she'd go with me and be like we you know it was paid and we would just redo the uh written agreement and and that was it do you have any property at the I know you talked about the trailer uh do you have any other property there on uh at the farm on gut Road just that trailer it's just the trailer yeah and uh he's an old piece of [ __ ] trailer and you said you had been out there in the past or whatever and they were using that as a the plan was to be a wooden opinion right or something of that nature or whatever yep okay and um I want to say by talking to some of the family or whatever they said that um I guess at one point prior to the wedding um you got a hammock or some that nature that was out there by the when asked about property on the farm MacArthur says that he only has a trailer there with how little he pays attention to his finances it is not much of a reach to think that he might not be aware of his personal possessions either it is unlikely he bothered to check its condition frequently gazebo by the water or whatever that's probably Savannah's probably her little uh [Music] you know you know the little the kind that you tie up in between two things or something yeah that was probably Savannah's you know is it that you know I don't know I don't know yeah I mean they're savannas that's all I know I know she's got one anyways who bought that she did or you did or I don't know if her granny got it for for Christmas or I don't know I have no idea exactly and that was just something that stayed out there whenever she comes when Savannah come out there she'd use it or something of that nature I didn't know it was out there I don't know Savannah would I mean Savannah she's she's a cool kid I mean she would um I could see her doing that I could see Savannah put it out there whoa that did the uh hammock at one time when Savannah was with you or at your house or whatever did she keep the hammock over there at your house yeah it's been yeah it's been our house okay oh why has Savannah not lived way out for the past three years just just over me and Ashley's arguing over over her situation or whatever but and she's lived with actually mama and that's in Gulf Breeze yeah does she go to school she's homeschool old school what is she 16 to 15 16 17. okay and I claim her I mean she really got a dad so I claim her I mean I love the kid so yeah and trying to think man because I thought as you know we inherited this case uh from the city so everything that's going on over the last six weeks has been thrown into my head in about three or four days and like a scatter cat uh what do you think happened to Taylor you Jason I mean I don't I don't know I don't know I mean nobody nobody deserves to ever get anything happen to them like that whatsoever I don't know about him I don't know what happened to her and you know I'm asking you okay to do has this investigation continues whether it's text phone records computers financials is there going to be anything that hems you up or ties you absolutely nothing nothing nothing I'm not that guy man you know and me and Jason goddamn you know me but if you're in my shoes this afternoon I'm right it has to I don't let me just MacArthur is emphatic about his non-involvement in the case and says multiple times that he doesn't break the law or associate with people who do rather than helping himself he is just sending up red flags because these are statements that are commonly made by suspects who have broken the law this is an example of how innocent people can easily say something that could see them facing charges for a crime they didn't commit pellets all over the news yeah you've read it yeah I'm ready read it I'm I'm and I mean trying to swallow it and and figure it out I mean it's like it it's terrible I it sucks but you've read it so you know at least some of the details and all I know is what I've read I'll finish your question and and just based upon that and your knowledge of the job that we do and the job that you used to do was your thought feelings aside it's logically we didn't just [ __ ] show up at Brit Road I can't I can't I can't see her doing something like that I mean she's super intelligent you know she's got a criminal I mean a uh um master's degree yeah or a bat is a master's about I don't I don't know one of the two and and uh that's just sloppy I mean were ever out there when was the last time you believed you'd read the property on Broad Road when I met that guy to to to swap swap our machines that was it that was it when you met that guy to swap him was Kyle already still living out there or was Kyle living there yeah maybe he was there because I'll give you a time frame according to Kyle Kyle come here to go to school school started right got arrested she bought a phone off Craigslist now what did the first phone look like uh I think it was iPhone 6 the you know the big one you remember what color it was yeah she had different cases on it before I don't I don't remember exactly what color it was and then the second one do you remember what color that was I think it was white I think okay so I don't I don't know what color okay I don't know what color case was but I know that the one that the small one I think it was white the one she got off Craigslist it was just a little bitty iPhone do you know the passcode to any of those phones no I think if I ain't mistaken she just used her fingerprint at any time that you ever see her with more than one cell phone no never um as far as I know he's skipping around and I apologize I'm not annoying y'all trying to do any job trying to figure this [ __ ] out let's go back to the ninth which is the day after uh Jimmy's wedding all right did y'all go to Jimmy's wedding yeah together yeah okay and what time would you say you got there I don't know maybe we were waiting on Milstead so we stopped and got um a snack at the uh place in Robertsdale we stopped and got a snack there um we were waiting on Milstead because he was running behind so it was I don't know maybe we all gonna ride together or no we were just trying to meet there about the same time just to walk in together you know I hate walking in anywhere by myself um and we were trying to Mill state was like wait on this you know whatever so um I don't know just maybe 15 20 minutes 30 minutes before it started yeah but you and Ashley y'all rode together yeah we rode together what were y'all in my Jeep the white G the YG okay all right and then in his mind understanding that at some point she left yeah about how long after y'all were there and I remember was before we ate or I don't remember well I mean but she left she she I mean an hour and from when y'all got there she was gone a couple hours I mean I don't think it was a couple hours um man I don't know I'll have to get with some of them and I I don't remember Jason I don't remember it wasn't we'll be there for a little bit and then she said she had a [Music] um one of her locate the Jukebox was down at one of her locations I remember and I was like you know I was disappointed I didn't want her to have to go and then she left and she and I I wrote home in Milstead when she said something like that or whatever you just take that Facebook yeah to be true yeah and yeah that's not uncommon for her to have to fix a machine or or you know see what's wrong with it or if the Wi-Fi's out or whatever however that [ __ ] works and the job correspond at all after I'm sure that night or whatever yeah I'm sure what time did you get home um Milstead dropped you off at home whenever Miss they dropped me off at Old brain treatment got an idea about what time midnight I mean I don't think it was that late uh when you got home was she home no okay where she was always up there she would go up there all the time why just to hang out with her girlfriends that's what she told me okay do you know what she did that day before the wedding I remember asking her if she wanted to do lunch and she said she was just tied up at work she couldn't she couldn't meet me so I'm just assuming she doesn't sound like MacArthur ever knew where his wife was or what she was doing and didn't bother to ask questions when she unexpectedly changed plans as a private investigator his lack of curiosity or suspicion is particularly shocking Morgan do you know if she was with anybody I don't know if that would I don't know if that's when she was helping Taylor I don't all that was right around the time she was helping Taylor move um so I don't know if she was with her or what I don't know but I know that I asked her to meet me for lunch and no she wouldn't have been with Taylor and then wrapping up oh no brother you're doing the best you can um because if I known she was with Taylor I wouldn't ask her to come eat lunch with him so okay but she just told me she was working on if I remember correctly okay once Taylor uh disappeared because you know there was a little discrepancy there you know last time she was seen an actual report uh being made um whoa what was at any time did you you know you talk with ask her what were her thoughts on any of that stuff every now and I'm like did they has anybody ever said anything you know any any word on Taylor or anything like that she's like nobody's heard nothing yet you know I mean I've always I'm like wondered you know I wonder what that you know but nobody nobody had ever said anything I mean what you just kind of blow it off or just like oh well no no nothing like that she's something something was I I didn't feel I just had that you know that feeling we get you know and you know and she would just disappear and so I just I didn't I didn't know what to think I mean I figured out she had a drug problem you know and that for a while um now what Ashley ever go to any pawn shops or anything of that nature but she buy things from pawn shops at all no I mean I did I mean you know I did I mean [ __ ] me and oily would wear them out you know what I'm did did she uh um foreign ER had any Firearms of anything of that nature did you know yeah Taylor always had a couple guns with her you remember what kind of Glocks Taylor always had a couple goals 380s nines Taylor had a uh Taylor had a Glock 45 and I thought damn that's a big gun for you know if she had a 45 she had another I don't know what the other one was I don't remember I thought she had two Glocks she always had guns rather um did a would she have ever given any Firearms or any property to y'all or Ashley or even to hold no that I know of Jason yeah did you have it did you or did y'all have a safety deposit box I've never had one ever if Ash had one it's not beyond anything I know I've never I on that you know and I've been was that in your truck my laptop I was at home all right because you gotta understand we have very little the city has everything but it's our case now so I mean it's you went to Jimmy's wedding and she left and you said when you got home that night she was not at home yeah she went home do you ever recall when she came home or did she come home that night probably late man I probably fell asleep um or when you woke up in the morning was she there I mean she always would she would just I think she just got home late I mean not knowing where his wife is or what she is doing has become a pattern the easiest part of committing this crime had to be keeping it from him he has always been content to believe anything she says without question and never confirms anything for himself and I think I was asleep when she got home so well Sunday morning when you woke up or whenever you woke up Saturday well Saturday was the wedding oh so okay Saturday was the one the ninth yeah okay and she leaves you get taken home by Mills if I remember right she just got home late and then we slept if I remember we probably slept in on Sunday so you're not 100 but you think she was there I'm sure she came home late do you recall what y'all did Sunday or what you did or she did Sunday I don't buddy okay all right I mean usually our usual routine was maybe would get sleep in go get go get lunch you know which is a normal routine well maybe to help with your time frame a little bit that weekend um that you went to New Orleans did you leave Sunday yeah um was that was that because you had an interview on the 11th yes okay yeah then yeah um because Monday yeah I had to be there did I get it I think if I just left early that morning I left early I think I no I don't I think I left real early that morning that Monday morning I did what time was your interview it was one of their outlying uh had something to do with mosquito uh it was in in the city right right in in uh it was in the city um was it out outside of the river outside of New Orleans City well it was there in New Orleans yeah okay it was just north of the just north of the interstate um maybe not nine o'clock something like that I don't I don't remember exactly I mean I did she go away no did you take somebody else with you what about myself okay um when did you return um or did you spend the night spent one night I I spent Monday night because we'd already paid for the hotel and then we actually always got me a hotel if I needed one if I was out of town trying to get a job or going to these tests or whatever um I stayed that one night yeah and I remember eating at mothers um and then I got a call I don't remember what time it was that afternoon that I I failed that part of the test because of goddamn math on it like why did you put algebra on a [ __ ] Police test you know what I mean like I don't remember [ __ ] algebra you know I mean who the [ __ ] what the [ __ ] is point I mean [ __ ] like I ain't never seen on that [ __ ] and I you know it's another [ __ ] language and I was like my God I'm I think I only missed it by one or one point or something but [ __ ] I don't remember no math you know I and I do good police work and I I don't [ __ ] with math I mean do y'all remember [ __ ] Algebra I mean I man with my son you know what a daughter when they were probably yeah right I don't I don't know how to do that [ __ ] but why did why do you need math then [ __ ] police work I don't I don't you know yeah so I failed that test and then I um I remember staying I love New Orleans absolutely [ __ ] love it and um so I stayed that night um I ate at mothers I walked down Bourbon Street there was a bunch of construction going on um and uh I had one hand grenade and um went back to hotel got me something [ __ ] cookies they give you at the desk I remember that because Ash likes to cook she's like give me some cookies so I got some extra I remember the lady saying I'm like hey um the the lady said I said can I get a couple extra cookies my uh my wife really likes them she's like okay you know like I said I'm my fat ass is gonna you know you know I remember that and I thought I remember telling Ash that but uh got her some cookies and I went upstairs and uh I didn't stay out real late and I came home the next day morning time so that'd been Tuesday yeah morning afternoon early afternoon I probably slept till nine or ten and then got up and um headed back towards the house and when you got did you go back to rain tree yeah yeah was anybody home when you got there Ash was probably at work I don't I don't I don't really remember well that brings up another good point I mean is it fair to say or does she have a set schedule you know like some people work Monday through Friday yeah she would usually work she would usually get up at nine or so then Mosey on to work you know because she kind of made up her own schedule did somebody opened the business for her or something no she never went to the office hardly ever they they didn't go to the office she would just meet Miss Kay wherever and they'd go do their collection or fix machines or whatever they did whatever they do all the time MacArthur can't even give an accurate account of his wife's usual daily work schedule is fairly vague but it is the type of answer that comes from a lack of Engagement rather than as an attempt to hide information foreign my older than anybody longer than you are I know that all right uh she pretty tight okay I wouldn't say take she's a [ __ ] talker man she just sits there and just she just Rambles on about [ __ ] so it was fair to say then if she really didn't have to go to the office I mean she kind of has free reign to go work sometimes they would go together sometimes they wouldn't depending on just depending on what machine he had what I mean since Ashley's running the business uh proceeds or income that were coming into the business from whatever you had or whatever you know uh the family or whoever had out there um the proceeds I mean were were her mom and dad still getting cut no from what I understand I thought it was ashes you know I thought everything I think uh her dad would ask for some cash every now and then or whatever and he's kind of lost it you know he's not he's got dementia a little I don't know whatever he's got but every now and then she'd give him some cash if you needed it or whatever but it was from what I understand it was under it was ashes everything was I actually that's I never never questioned you know I thought she did very well with that business her dad used to do very well with it so I had no reason to to question any of that you know uh does Ashley get paid from events leading up to Taylor Wright's murder was revealed right told MacArthur that she needed the thirty four thousand dollar check back but by then MacArthur had already used the money to pay off her credit cards and buy a motorcycle for her lover MacArthur then picked up right under the guise of going to the bank but she likely made up a story about needing to stop by the farm where Wright's body would later be found it was there that MacArthur shot her friend in the back of the head prosecutors claim and then buried her body underneath potting soil and concrete afterward she then used Wright's phone to send messages to make it seem as if Wright was still alive as a former crime scene technician MacArthur knew exactly what to do to cover up her crime after a four-day trial a jury
