wake that ass up in the morning the breakfast club morning everybody it's dj envy angela yee charlemagne the guy we are the breakfast club we got a special guest in the building our guy huh nick cannon we're here all right the streets say nick no condom cannon is that what they say the fertilizer how many do you want man honestly i was always i always used to joke around i was like i wanted the 12 is that the 12 tribes like i was really one but i you know somewhere 10 to 12 i i wouldn't be able to just yeah you got so many too i got five and one on the way six but i'm stopping it really i'm still i'm almost are you sure is it the beauty of fatherhood man when you really talk about like the the essence of living as a father too man i've learned so much just from my children man like and it's so amazing and i really just love being around my kids and just that youthful energy it feels like you get to relive every time the big time i love that and i think because you know i've been through so much in my life you know physically mentally and spiritually like the the best place that i find is the time that i spend with my kids and the energy and to get as much of that as possible uh to to pass on you know all that i've lived into something else that's why i do it man it's not it's not the number of kids though i guess people question the different baby mothers that's what why do people question that i mean because it's like it's that's a eurocentric concept when you think about the the ideas of like it's you're supposed to have this one person for the rest of your life and really that's just to classify property when you think about it i mean like when you go into that mindset if we really talk in that talk like just the idea that a man should have one woman we shouldn't have anything i have no ownership over this person like if we really talking about how we coexist and how we populate it's about what exchange can we create together so i've never really subscribed to that mentality you know i mean i understand the institution of marriage and stuff but if we go back to what that was about that was the classified property that was because one father gave another man his daughter for land so when you really get to that concept it's like we got to change all of this up because i don't want ownership over anybody i don't have ownership of any of the uh mothers or like we create families in that sense that we created a beautiful entity so i like i mean i get into it because i don't you know those are the concepts that a lot of people because we're so indoctrinated into it like we have to have it this way i'm not you know i don't subscribe to it i actually think women are blessing us those women those women and and all women are the ones that open themselves up to say i would like to allow this man in my world and i will birth this shot so i think my decision i'm just i'm i'm following suit so women i respect that game you running on them ladies wow nick nick that's that that's what you're spitting that was you that's the dream you're selling wow they don't mind that you that every woman that i i deal with or dealt with obviously my life is on front street at all times they they know how i feel and it usually is a concept like i don't i'm not going around like i'm who i'm gonna impregnate next like nah it's usually scenarios and con like that's the thing people say certain things in the public but when you really look at how a family infrastructure is designed the woman is the one that always leads and makes the decision i agree wholeheartedly i say that all the time i say that we had to do some real societal brainwashing to make people believe that men were the actual leaders but just by nature you can look and see women run everything yeah the only thing we have brute force that's about it and even now that's changing drastically and we've used our brute force to brainwash society to think that we're the the the overpowering or the one that controls just because maybe we can physically move something women women lead and in every scenario that i've i've had i step back and say how do you want to do this and it and it's sad because a lot of people will be like man how is he convincing these women like i'm not care i'm just i'm i'm the one that's in the scenario to where i have to follow suit and what they decide well i've heard people say that they think you having all these kids with different women is selfish because you can't possibly give the time to all of the different kids again uh time is a is a man-made construct when you un like if we're talking quantity over quality i mean everybody knows the difference between that i mean i grew up in an unorthodox household so i do understand oh man i wish my father was there more i wish my mother was there more i grew up you know a lot of times where my grandmother was the matriarch so um i understand the purpose of that but it truly is and not to because i don't have to prove myself to nobody but anybody who knows me man and every single one of my kids i'm at every basketball game every martial arts practice and people don't understand how i do it but that's literally my children are my priority and we all grew we know big families we know people got 10 12 brothers and sisters who live in the same house some who don't it's all about being present and i always say all for all of those people that that say man there's no way he can do it sit back and watch now listen you you had you've been married before you were married to an icon miss mariah carey that's still my wife that's your property see what i'm saying so when did you get to this mindset because i know you ain't say that to miranda no you know what's beautiful about and again people don't really unders and if you look at how she moves mariah was never a big believer in marriage either when you look at because she was in some scenarios in her past where there was some overpowering you know uh the the the hierarchy of a relationship oh yeah yeah because she got married early on really young so that skewed some views to where she no longer wanted to be in scenarios like that so when we first got down and met we both we came into like we don't believe in marriage you know what i mean and then it got to a place like man we have a lot of similar beliefs so let's have some fun with this let's embrace it and and people probably won't believe it but i remember the first time that we uh hung out we had a conversation like man how cool would it be you know what i mean if we were to get married have like a boy and a girl and like like really spoke everything into existence like you know and even if it didn't work out we could still remain friends and be like the best of friends and just make sure we raise our kids literally like first date conversation kind of talked and designed what our whole world to be and that's why we can even to this point be on the same page i mean i'm a lot more vocal than she is because she's a lot more private than i am but a lot of the stuff that because it's an evolved mentality man it's like when when you understand energy and frequencies and there's certain frequencies that others operate on that you can tap into where society may not be really locked in so she introduced me to a lot of the game when she was like i create my own world you know what i mean i i and when you look at it like she lives in her own world she she understands her own truth and she never subscribed to that idea of marriage because she has so she's a queen you know what i mean she's like i i move how i want to move and that's and when you look at those level of women whether we're talking about when you look how oprah's moving powerful yeah yeah rihanna like they move how they want to move and they put men in the place to where ah yeah i'll roll with that i'll be there and that's literally i learned so much from her uh i wasn't writing spitting game but these are very similar concepts when it's really about respect if we talk really talking equality a queen is a queen a king is a king and they can operate in that same form at a level equally yolk pay is that pace is that what caused y'all possibly to separate uh i mean it's so long ago i would say and i spoke on it uh quite a bit because i'm i have no problem speaking about it but it really is it goes back to when you're talking about two i hate using this term now because but two alpha personalities uh i always say to be the best parents i had to step back and just say man i i have to have outside uh perception because of when you have two people who create their own worlds you gotta take the selfishness out and operate for the children and i felt like even there was a lot of like this is the mariah's camp this is nick's camping and like you see the kids in the middle and i was like aye let me that can't that that's you know confusion in the household so let me at least step back establish the things that i stand for you establish those things and respectfully we will be able to raise these children better because if you have dissension amongst kids kids notice that energy and because we always move in all the time anyway so now to be able to approach it as a partnership to raise these children what was that conversation like because there's a lot of couples out there that can't have that conversation you know what it uh at first it wasn't easy uh just because we had a the teams were having the conversation the lawyers the who was we sending their kids to college you know with them trying to you know fix your situation fix our kids right like ah like that let we got this we wise enough to get here like let's figure out what we want to do uh and once we got on that and once you really can get to like let's make it about these kids then everything else goes away because my ego may want this and my ego wants this or my and because the beautiful thing and luck luckily for us it was never about bread it was never about money so we i don't think you know any of my children will ever have to worry about finances so and specifically you know rock situation so like so when it got to it just everything from like schooling understand how you know even the ideas of manners and respect and yes ma'am yes sir like we were always on the same page with that so when he got to this space it was like all right now i still walk into the house now pull up ain't no problem but stay the night if i want it's just a cool situation so interesting conversation i respect your right to move that way i'm a married man i love being married i love the idea of being with one woman and building a family building an empire and i i feel like i want to figure like i remember being in that space and i was with the one woman i've always wanted to be with for my entire i lived the dream and and i saw it was so much to that but for me based off of my trajectory in life i was like there's a little bit more and even like i can even admit like sometimes there was selfish concepts of like i feel like my purpose is greater outside of just being in this institution i feel like i can affect and and do so much more for the limited time that i have here on this planet to where i can actually get to it because i one thing about being married is you gotta go home at night yes you gotta you gotta you gotta there's things that need to be taken care of in that household on a day-to-day basis because you made this commitment and and this covenant that needs to be honored daily and your representation like you know what i mean that's what the rings are for you showing the world correct we are bonded together yeah so if you if you got that on and you not bonded together then it's like then you live living this falsehood and that's the one thing i'm like i got to live my truth and i personally i mean you know salute to anybody else who does it but i can't get out here and talk about how much i live my truth walking truth only the truth and i'm creeping like so every woman that deals with me knows that yeah well we know what it is you know and and that's and that's every aspect of my life whether it's things i spit on these mics and be like you know at least what he said he believe it and it's true it ain't no false pretense here you're gonna get what it get you may not agree with it and we can have discourse and debate but i live my truth and that's one thing i found like if i ever felt like i was going to be stepping out or doing this thing it's like i'm sitting here lying no that's real that's the reason i stopped cheating to be totally honest and you know what i'm saying again cheating isn't even such a work because if i go if i go into this situation and you know whether you want to put terms on it you know all type of labels and stuff but if you know that i can say like monogamy or uh one person and one person that's difficult for me i don't i can't do that i did that very well within my marriage but i'd be lying if i would say that i was sitting in that situation and another woman never crossed my mind does it make you crazy when people when they when they judge your relationship online like i remember um you just had your recent baby and you were in the strip club with me and people like how was he in the strip club when he just had a baby an hour ago did that affect you at all that's just i was time management uh no it doesn't cause i don't really it's a lot of noise you know what i mean i said when i talk about the frequencies like when you operate on a certain frequency you you usually don't hear the noise sometimes it gets up there and then you deal with it uh so i don't the the clutter that i don't really deal with that but when someone asked me that question i literally saved me watch how i move like is anybody complaining is anybody do do my children look like they're not well behaved or in in a in a space where they're suffering or any lack emotionally physically whatever it is so i feel like i'm doing the job to the best of my ability and it's all based on love so i know people will have opinions but people have opinions about everything and it's like you know and they always say you know you know lions don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep because sheep will never understand how a lion moves so i'm gonna just continue to be on my path and on my journey and people i i know that it's funny you ever see the uh the book the celestine uh prophecy yeah well look at that book where they talk about kendrick you put me on there yeah like the the energy energy energy you can see people's aura yeah you said that and the current like energy is currency so people want to in that book they talk about uh they call it interrogators and as i used to use the word haters a lot but it's like it's not hate it's interrogation because that's how they get your energy they want to dissect it they want to have an opinion on it they want and i'm like oh you can interrogate all along you know when you if you haven't been arrested before you sit back and you remain calm you let the interrogators interrogate but you never let them break your cool you never let them break your stride and you stick to your story you live your truth and they going to do what they do and they're going to go out the room and they're going to come back with some new [ __ ] like people want to interrogate my scenario constantly so i'm not really moved by it because they're just trying to rob me of my energy so you think it's a coincidence that um nick cannon is nc and no condom is insane do you think that is a coincidence or is that divine no that's a i like that i like that uh you know i mean obviously the the jokes are hilarious and you know wilding out which comes out you know this week we're on the 10th uh there's a whole we we got a lot of that that going on oh i know they didn't let up off that yeah that's all that's all it is i mean we're shooting real husbands right now too that's when y'all see that it's it is what it is but to but contrary to popular belief i do wear a condom [ __ ] please that's a damn lie what reason do we have to believe that don't have a condom name cause nobody gonna use those yes matter of fact what is the brand name so they can be discontinued i keep the gold packs with me but uh well you need to stop wearing them that little baggie something flipping up this guy i wish there was a woman here uh that i'm pretty sure the comments is going crazy now we all go through this all right every relationship starts off with a condom yes correct so you go into it right right then once you feel like you get the oh we there's trust it's comfortable and you get comfortable and then and usually the scenario you want you there's people saying things whether it's true or not oh you're the only person correct i'm sleeping there's there's equity and knowing like oh this is this is me right here right then in that intimate moment you're thinking well if this we we i don't we'd have been to the doctor together i know and then and even it might not even be you might not say oh i don't take it because you know domestic situations you probably live together you wake up in the morning you can't you don't used all the condoms from last night or you might get that one last one that you know what it is one in the corner of the drawer let me put it on put it on it ain't the expiration date may not be it breaks right once however that first slippage of either you didn't have it the condom breaks something you was in the shower and they slipped it or whatever and like all right well we don't cross this threshold now so [ __ ] we don't need them no more you know how it feels now and then because and i do say this that's why i say you know no children are ever accidents because if we make the conscious effort of stepping up and having uh unprotected you know you know you're preparing to have a child correct so anybody that you anybody i ever had unprotected sex with i knew okay this is someone i wouldn't mind creating life with and there's there's emotions and love set up into that there's ideas of i have the fortitude and i'm seeing if this scenario were to happen i can handle this situation so every time i if i meet somebody and usually i don't like meeting new people but i'm it's probably 99.9 percent gonna be strapped up in that sense i don't drink i don't mind i'm always i don't i'm under the right sober state of mind every time i go into any sexual activity so in that sense it's gonna be protected but as you get to know people and because i've i'm in a situation where you know i have a lot of quality relationships it usually builds into a point where there's no longer doing that and then we had to make that decision like we're not using condoms we know we prepared some of your kids are close to the same age that means you slinging dick with no condom to a couple of girls now that it is funny because they start as someone who has to see the doctor because of my other uh ailments yeah i'm in my and i probably got a little careless with that because i'm std checking every week because i get my blood taken every week because of lupus so i usually know where i'm at and i'm also what about the young lady though usually no so and in that scenario she knows what it is and i'm like i have if someone suggests using a condom of course that's what we doing but if this person knows and is just as hygienically sound as i am then that's usually how it moves i'm never i'm never yeah i have it's not a secret that i have multiple doesn't sound like your penis doesn't sound like your penis is fda approved it sounds like it's authorized for emergency use it sounds like it's fda approved however you see like i said i'm the cat that's at the doctor every week and i was like i probably because of that i probably got to a mindset to where i know i'm not uh it's not a gamble with me the the the women i interact with uh we and i don't want to get into too much detail but it's when it comes to everything from health i got to take that probably a little bit more seriously then so i probably take a few more precautions of even understanding who who i'm chemically balanced with and who i'm not chemically bound with because my doctors pay a little a bit more attention again i live a different lifestyle than the average person because i have the the wherewithal and the ability but i also live a very careful lifestyle because of just my status and like from health spirituality and and mentality so so again i i could in that sense and be like oh he just he's just going wrong everybody was like that's usually not the scenario but also when there are certain conversations that a lot of people don't talk about where there's certain people in this world who interact differently uh sexually than than others now the monogamy conversation is very very interesting do you think you'll ever get to a point do you think you might come back and be like no i do want to be with one person see because then this is the idea and i was going to lead into this being with one person right that usually we just talking about sex when you when you're not married no it's marriage marriage so okay when you talk about marriage you're talking about the the business of marriage because that's marriage is a business it's a contract right i mean i think it's a soul tie too i mean when you find the right person that's a covenant okay so and just like when we get biblical and all that there's several marriages in the covenant right no no i'm saying it's a okay if you break down what the bible is talking about he's talking about covenants it's not talking about multiple businesses like you know solomon wasn't in 700 business contracts with these women he had covenants yeah wives and therefore you know it's now and that's how you break it down when you get into the hebrew terms of what that word in the bible speaks of now i'm not looking to be in a bunch of bad businesses i don't need a bunch of bad business relationships because that's what now we're talking about the covenants we can create our own covenant and and based off of everything that you desire we can hold true to these things and i will definitely be in covenant with people and and but when you talk about monogamy monogamy is usually sex and when you think about things with health and you think about things that you're actually um promising i'm only for you you only for me correct i just don't feel like i don't feel like that's a truth of mine i i can want that i can desire that and i don't even expect that of the the young lady in that sense to where i i know things happen hopefully i can continue to give you all your hearts desires but it's going to be a point where that those chemicals ain't gelling like they were at at some moment now and we'll deal with that but i much rather have someone as a companion as as a friend for life when you think about we got friends from since kindergarten uh yeah that's my daughter and multiple friends we're not just allowed to have monogamous friendships but when you break it about sex and to me i'm not moved by sex i don't make decisions off of sex i probably have some of the closest people in my life when it comes to women that i'm not sexually active and i've explored this to this sense of where it's like oh no if and i tell off top if it's about your vagina we can take that off the table from the gate because now i can really get to know you because now i'm not i don't know clearly the world knows i have enough access to vaginas so let me really break down where we at with this so i feel like some of my strongest relationships with women going i mean we in our 40s now like like when we get later on in life and they can't even work in the way it is you need that one you need that one to hold you down yeah you gonna be like who can i go to the movies with you i mean who can who can i sit in the swing and and watch the the seagulls fly with like the i'd rather focus on in that direction and figure out who can i solely have sex with for one i'm not moved by that so like again those constructs don't really i'm i don't think about that well i'll tell you one thing boy there's men out here who can't commit the one woman that's listening saying that nigga's spitting this morning i don't disagree with what you're saying because you have the right to live that way yeah it don't work for me i got to be i love you i respect and salute and i don't know i'm a rock with child for me anyone who can be in an honorable relationship because again if we want to go back to the bible it it speaks of marriage should be exalted and when you think about things that should be exalted and it's it only can work through the hierarchy hierarchy and the uh the order of god that's why i say a marriage has to be ordained and has to i understand that because that's something it's not easy to do if it's exhausting i i'm like dang i could never do that that's not for the ad just like everybody can't be a priest every like so when i see i believe when two come together and become one that's powerful that's that's blessed by god you can't do it by yourself and when i'm out here on that grind trying to move how i move i know that i'd have to fully dedicate i've been in that scenario and i understand where you got it you got to pray together you got to lock in you got to be on the same frequency and wavelength at all times my energy is so all over the place it's difficult for me to do that but when i see it i'm like that's success i think i mean for me i just you know i learn from the elders i watch my my father and i watched the mistakes he made and the mistakes he told me he made you know what i mean so for me i didn't want to make those same mistakes facts i wanted to just pour into my wife be faithful to my wife commit to my wife and my family and that's for me made my life a whole lot better and it's interesting because i look at you know all of our situations and you know none of us are perfect you know but when you have a woman that's willing to say you know what i will stand next to this man for the rest of his life like that's so honorable that's so beautiful and then we owe that to them and when you talk about our elders when i look at everybody from my past my grandpa's cats on the block when it's you the one that you say man she's had my back forever 16. she watched she watched me do the dumb [ __ ] she watched me think this didn't that's when you that's when you like wow i wish i had that now because of my scenario those ain't really out there for me for you right you know what i mean like every time somebody meets me and sees me they they already have a youtube channel you've been nicknamed for a long time who i don't know i don't have a woman in my life that's had my back wow from day one who rocked with me through the [ __ ] and that's the reason you feel that way because like like charlemagne and i've been with my wife since she was 15 i was 16. right so she's been there before dj envy before the money just easy man going to the boat getting our ladies and drinking quarter waters that's like like that's that's that's a blessing from god man everybody can't have you know the small percentage of that power of like that's some that's other kind of love that's if [ __ ] with the world say i'm you you me i don't have the on you you me everybody is like i think i could be what you want i'm like i'm cool by myself you know what i mean like i mean i never thought about it from your perspective but that makes so much sense i've been my wife 23 years and that's why but you've been nick cannon for me long 28 years 30 years like so when i see that i'm like i i wish that was a and that and even like probably when i did get married with mariah we came from that same spot like neither one of us have that so maybe we can create that for each other for as long as we can but we kind of know i i met you when you was grown you met me when i was grown you know what i mean we could try to turn it into this but if we really talk about with them come them lifelong covenants it starts from a foundation of like you knew me when i didn't even know me you know what i'm saying we grew together right and i'll never have that you know babies do you want [ __ ] that's what i want to know how many more babies i love kids so i love kids too i think kids can't keep you young it keeps you on your p's and q's yeah it keeps you wanting to do more but when you're 70 and you have a one-year-old how are you going to run around i'm a follower of dr sabi documentary coming soon but no i mean he was i mean i probably won't go this far but like when you think about uh he he was in his 80s with it with a before he passed and had a two-year-old so uh that's extreme but my life is extreme but i probably say i definitely feel like i'm probably gonna stop yearning for children probably in the next like even after 45 they say that's you know then then just even the process of going through a a healthy pregnancy like they even you check the boxes like is the father your child you know 45 or under like it's it's a certain age that even as men and i say we can have them forever but i probably in my mind said you know i'm a 40s slow down but i just the idea of being if i can provide for these kids i can be the best father i could be why not you know continue to do it but i'm not out here seeking either i'm not out here telling like oh i'm trying to get to a number we joke about it but it's i just i don't have a problem with you know producing new life and and making sure that life is set up in a way that it can be as abundant and as prosperous as possible i'm sitting there thinking i wonder how many women feel like that how many women feel like well you know i really don't want to be with one man i really i think i wonder i mean i think they all feel like that i don't think don't say that no okay because okay we break this down and i wish we had some women here to actually chime in but we do but she's still out here in these streets so he don't need to bring her yeah but i always say that the concept of comfort is what we all seek we love women who can make us feel comfortable and make us you know cater to whatever whether it's egotistical surface level or even spiritually and then women seek that same thing so if i and i tell anyone i'm involved with if i'm no longer making you comfortable then find what makes you comfortable whether comfort comfort could be in safety protection uh laughter healing all if you find somebody like he he's provided a house where i'm comfortable he's he when he walks into the room i feel safe all of those things and the only reason why if we're doing our job properly then if we're providing as much comfort as possible a woman's gonna be good but as soon as there's a void as soon as like if you ain't [ __ ] her down right if if if she feels like that she needs more time if she feels like she needs more money she's going to go find that and that's the thing about us our comfort is usually physical she can give me a good massage you get a good head all of that stuff that's that's a dime a dozen but a a true provider it's not a lot of men out there do that so that's why that construct is you you normally because if a woman steps out she's making a strong effort to go find what she desires a man is like whatever it's easier so that's why i believe you probably see us out there in the streets a little bit more uh because a woman's just a little bit more strategic yeah i say women if a woman steps out it's usually for emotional reasons and it's something she's probably considered with some high emotional intelligence men it's ego yeah creepiness ego yeah and it's that it's that quick fix where a woman is like they're they're calculated they think like even if i do even there's women who just like to [ __ ] but again her her liberation is this is who i am this these are the decisions i make and this is the one i'm comfortable being this woman so i i salute any again long as i go in these situations as long as i know what it is and you know what it is if if i want a cat and you're a cat let's get a cat but i want a cat and i find out you're a dog then now now you [ __ ] with my you know you're insulting my intelligence so i there's there's some women in my life that move like i move yeah yeah and i salute it and those are the ones i use condoms with [Laughter] now you're gonna have every girl every time you're gonna pull out a condom what you think about me nick yeah every time and i'm gonna go ain't gonna be what you think we already don't know what you did i'll tell everybody the side [ __ ] is the best position i want to be that because i know exactly what it is from the gate in and out i don't want that i don't want that no misunderstandings i'd much rather you got your man oh hi lobby i'll be your ear for the evening i'll be the ear and the dick for the evening and then you go and do you all of the ones whereas other things now you're trying to live a lie you trying to be something that i know you not to me because you're trying to secure comfort now let's not do that like if you and this i'll i salute all of the women out there that are moving how they want to move when this [ __ ] ain't acting right you go over here to this [ __ ] but again now we know what it is accordingly i'll be captain side [ __ ] all day like that nick you too old for this [ __ ] now okay so when does it stop charlotte man i don't know you're a father of 37 you need to stop now let's switch gears do you regret uh giving kevin hart that llama before no i was wondering whatever you didn't change the number nah i mean i need it's still my phone number and then they just yeah what's up we had a breakfast club man you [ __ ] [ __ ] calling it hello see and that's the other thing it's so it constantly called i wonder because it kept ringing the whole time the whole this is and it's on silent that's the other day you guys you're giving them that you got to protect your piece [ __ ] you gotta change you know no so the thing is obviously we got the prank wars going on now i was trying first like me and kev do this all like it's just so happy the phone number is just nintendo yeah like because we always prank each other especially around birthdays and stuff like that i'll be sending just stupid stuff to his house and i sent the llama and then it's [ __ ] gonna put my phone number on a billboard and it will not stop ringing so i'm like i'll be answering like i said what should i do to get this [ __ ] back like because the brilliance of this prank is the world got to be a part of it usually our pranks is like private and silly over the top now everyone has my phone number so that's another i'll keep it on because like all right until i get this [ __ ] back i'm gonna be constantly reminded that i gotta deal with picking up this phone that [ __ ] would drive me crazy that would drop me crazy trying to sleep or just relax well obviously i'll put it in the other room and i'm gonna try to sleep but it's like this is my phone and and that's the thing because and i don't i'm not a slave to these devices like that so i know what it is and it's over there and it's technology so it doesn't really bother me that much because i'm not on it like that i got on even other than that phone number i'm i'm not engaged like that if i i'll text somebody if i need to or all that but i'm not one of those people who just rock with their phones all the time so as much as that is an inconvenience it'd probably be more of an inconvenience if i if i was one of them dudes that disguise keep it by the you know all the time so that's that's over there but kevin r [ __ ] you y'all shooting real husbands now is this part of the show nah it should have been uh i think we already had you know our story lines and stuff already put together before that jumped off but we're doing some big things with that like me and kevin's pranks you guys and i really need your help to figure out what i should do next because all the [ __ ] i had planned are not as good as this like i was doing dumb [ __ ] i'm putting bubble bath in his in his freaking pool like i'll do it i was doing rich inconvenient [ __ ] like the fact that he's [ __ ] up one of his cars but like this was good because this ain't convenient my life in the world got to be if i was like i gotta rethink all the [ __ ] that i was gonna do so i i don't know kev it's coming it's definitely coming i'm cooking up and the world gonna see now listen i know i saw your howard stern interview and you know i know we all have to embrace the fact that we're not gonna be here forever right you know what and i wanted to talk about that too because that was an interview from over five years ago and i was when i say i was fresh out the hospital like seven blood transfusions they you know over people whispering in the corner talking to my mama you know i mean like it was one of them times and and that and that was probably the third or fourth time i've been in a scenario like that so when you're in that space you get to you have to come to those moments you sitting up looking at the ceiling in the hospital having weird dreams and all that stuff like okay this is this is what it's like it's about to go i i've i've i appreciate the time that i've had on this planet i like and then when you come out of it because of your resilience you're in a different mindset as well and then you kind of you get back to this space i feel like there's i call it spiritual portals you know i mean when you're close to that portal you're you're in a different zen mode of acceptance and i was probably on that conversation you know we could be talking [ __ ] and joking a lot of it because the mics cracked open but i was definitely probably in that space of like it is what it is you know i had a good ride uh how do you feel now i i'm probably because i'm that was so far removed i definitely appreciate each and every day but i want to get the most out of life but i don't know i was i feel like that was a little dark i was in a darker space because i was truly fresh out of the hospital and and that's what he was talking about like man i'm concerned for you and like i've been to i've i've been challenged by death so many times that i've i get to a place where i just accept it but i don't like to think about it every day but like you said we all we could walk out of here right now and it could be a rap for all i mean even just the pandemic in itself has shown us that nobody's promised tomorrow so again that was pre pandemic that was that was a dip now it's more about let's not even have that discussion let's embrace this moment that's right but i was fresh out the hospital off of that and i'm talking to howard stern and he brought it up and i'm like well [ __ ] yeah i feel this way like and and it's funny how because people it's just the media how people started seeing all these stories about me and all these kids and then that interview popped up from five years ago and they're like oh that's what it is that's irresponsible in itself too and that's what somebody said to me somebody said that nick is having all these kids but he thinks he's not going to be here long that's selfish nah that's not it is that if that was if i set out on some thanos [ __ ] like if i'm like oh well i'm not going to be here alone so let me impregnate as many people as possible that is that's a very selfish mentality they took two different concepts and kind of put them together and again i'm in therapy twice a week so when i i lit i went to my therapist and you know i'm like do i think like am i moving like this is this why and two have nothing to do with each other like the my my concept on you know the time that we have in this realm and in the experiences that we get to to the 75 80 85 hopefully plus years that we get to see i want to make the most out of them but i'm not out here saying oh i want to go get have as many kids and cover as much ground as possible nah that's nice that was a wild rumor and the rumor that is that you got young m.a pregnant that was a while over here all of me i mean again this is what we do jokes like i'm i can't wait for it like i i'm one of the probably people you've seen while i got the toughest skin in the game there's no i don't think there's anyone who's ever upset me or i mean even our relationship over here we grew to be so close i'm like that's [ __ ] hilarious to me i'm not i'm not moved by that so i actually appreciate every joke and that's why i create it while it out right i've been getting rich off of y'all talking [ __ ] about me for decades now how did you feel when your crew held you down a while now cause yeah they definitely did and i salute to them and that's when you build a strong unit a strong family that's what you're supposed to do uh staying solid i don't even think it had anything to do with me they just solid people yeah because there's a lot of people who did you know start tap dancing and got real flimsy out there you know i always say [ __ ] want to be solid but they ain't solid you know what i mean a lot of people think of this [ __ ] as a part-time job but solid is a full-time thing that you live on all the time and i feel um i salute that you know i'm surrounded by a team of solid individuals but as we all know too there's there's also i i don't knock anybody who make whatever decision they have to make because of their family uh because that's how they provide that's you know they just i get it everybody has different motivations so even you know the people who who were willing and you know jumped out there that's what they do though those people are you just sabotaged i i i always say all the situations i go through i think dr king talked about is like uh a kaleidoscope of character revelation mm-hmm you can see people's true colors when you see you can set back and you've got and i don't hate you for you being who you are i just now i'm so glad i know who you are now because you presented a different color to me but now when [ __ ] got hot he was on some hyper color [ __ ] you know what i mean you changed quickly so i i'm i'm grateful for all of everything that i go through because now especially today people show me who they are in one tweet people show me who they are and the lack of calls and care there's there's been many times i'm like damn i thought this person was different but i'm glad i know and it's like i'm not disappointed in you i was disappointed in myself for trusting you do you notice that that always happens when you're about to go to another level or a new season it's like god clears people away at your inventory yeah yeah that's exactly what it's like oh i appreciate clarity now i see and now that it's funny like when you come back and you know you get it again i always say like like don't count me out count me in if you bet against nick cannon man you come on man i didn't like not to not to pop my [ __ ] but to to think to go oh it's over for him they said that so many times like and that's really what fuels me and what drives me so the smart ones going rocking with me the ones not i asked you i see you where you at and it's unfortunate because a lot of times especially with weather controversy or whatever a lot of people just want to get out there and steal your energy those those interrogators they get out there and they feel like oh this is my moment to speak or they put a microphone in front of me what nick should've did if he would have did and it hurt my heart because it really wasn't no one on my team but i would see people that i looked up to people that i was like oh man you you could have called me like and it said but you you want to go do a full interview about me and not even reach out to me like that shows me your character right there you just showed me who you are and why you in this because if you know me so well but you rather go do a full hour interview about me and never even talk to me you probably really don't know me got you and that's in that and now those are the things that you know i i appreciate that i look at those as gifts from god because now i'm like okay when we see each other we could do the fake hollywood all day long but we know what it is what were the conversations with you in dc like after you know dc turning down those streets yeah so being solid is how you survive so it is you know it ain't even got to be a conversation it ain't even like it's just i'm talking to dc frequently if not every day it's like it's the end and me is because as the leader in the situation i'm like do y'all do what's best for you you ain't got to get out there and i told many people all of my like don't get into this like shouts out to even brothers like d wade who was just randomly showing love and support for his fellow man and then they came at him like yo don't don't do that you know what i mean i got this let me let me handle this because then they gonna start putting all that negative energy on you and no one else needs that i'm i'm i'm strong enough to stand firm on on my beliefs and my walk in this journey that i got to go through and i know the support is there because the support came from the real ones who called me you know what i mean who said like i i i talk about all our character revelation on all the people i thought man but it was so many real ones that and i had to talk to nah don't do it in dc was what what are we doing you got you we good king we got this just just something if it ain't gonna be with them we gonna do this again over here like as i said you can't fire a boss like i'm not worried about any of this but i do have to walk this walk and i gotta walk this walk by myself so i appreciate you holding me down but let let me get my stripes off and i know the support is there because i feel it because you calling me as a real person you're not calling you're not grandstanding for me in the media you being a real one and so i i even take this moment to say all y'all like like it was real conversation going on you know what i mean shaw was one of the first people like man we gotta figure this out we got it you know what i mean like and and even those times where i wasn't even accessible because i had to step out of the bubble for a minute to be like all right let me let me see what this is who's utilizing this for monetary gain who's you utilizing this for to take a moment communities what communities are trying to because i it was a point where i was public enemy number one to everyone i was a sellout you know what i mean i was all a buck broken cone drinking the [ __ ] aid and all of that it was everything but and and that was the stuff that kind of probably hurt me because i expected it from other communities i know the people who don't like me i grew up i smile in the in in the face of my enemy but then the people was like damn i thought y'all was with me yeah like and y'all you you've seen what dr king went through you've seen what dick gregory went through you've seen what you know muhammad ali went through all that and so it is like there was points where muhammad ali was the most hated man on the planet martin luther king jr martin luther king it was probably enemy number one they like the black people got tired of martin luther king they was oh you over like he when you're in that that way and he actually even talks about it's gonna be it's going to be a lot of confusion when you're trying to look for times of confirmation and and even that sense is like you could tell the true character of a man in times of controversy and not in the times of comfort and that was those times where i was like i this is this is where this is my time to really understand for my character and what i represent but then at the same time it gives me opportunity to see who really rocking with me and so many people man that rock with me and came out that i didn't even know we was that sad like yeah for me it was it wasn't the professional stuff i you know you get through that it was like the personal i'm like yo let's make sure nick is good and you're not watching nothing crazy it was so true man because i got to this space man and i'm never like i value life but i've been into i've i've mentally physically and spiritually have been in places where i've been in some very dark places to where you know through therapy and struggle with the depression but it's that it's a depression of like oh my life is so it's not my people think like depression is like oh my life is so bad and i think no it's like yo i'm stuck i'm in the mud and i can't move and i don't know why i can't move so when you get to that space where you feel like it returns all of those thoughts start coming and you start thinking like well if i can't move is this it you know what i mean like you start thinking it's life better without me without because it's so painful of not being able to move if i just get out the way and then so you so i definitely i probably got to get out the way and then those dark thoughts and it's unfortunate because i had an artist that uh was signed to me and i watched him struggle so much with those those demons and that that mental anguish of not of being stuck and during this whole process and this it woke it woke me up in a way to where i'm sitting here talking about how dark and stuck and in the rut and this man had been dealing with the the pain of life for so long and it got to a point where he did end up taking his own life and i'm like man i'm sitting here playing with it and i've watched i've you know i've watched i've i've been in the hospital when he was in a coma i've been i've watched him try to do and tried to stop him from taking his life and the fact that i'm stuck in this moment right here i wasn't even able to communicate and connect with him during that time and he took took his life and that that happened literally like the the second day all of this was going on and now that brought me out of the mirror because i was like okay uh the [ __ ] i'm going through how much money and this and standing in my voice and i'm like this man was experiencing so much pain that he he consistently tried to take his life and then finally he was able to do it and when i said cause it like he had been doing it for years we have been in and out of different facilities trying to end such a beautiful joyful spirit but it's like he was stuck in that mud so much he has demons so loud and we all have them but when they get to they get overbearing i've never experienced that and so that's where you know even and i commend you and all the amazing work that you do in the space of mental health uh because we don't talk about it enough we don't deal with it because we all experience it and people oh you got a mental illness i was like yeah i do but you don't you know what i mean because the fact that you can sit here and talk about all the things that you see that are going on in my life without doing your own self inventory there's some illness there and if we can't sit if we want let's let's bring let's bring all of our pain to the table and discuss it opposed to pointing fingers at pain and and i've learned through that process like yo what i'm going through is going to help somebody else so i rather go through it in in front of everybody i'm not i i am who i am i i have my flaws at the highest level but you know my heart and i'm trying to be the best individual i'm never going to get this [ __ ] right like i talk to my therapist about it all the time i some days are dark some days are better but i'm like look i'm just trying to be the best human i'm trying to grow i'm not trying to just go through it i'm trying to grow through it i'm trying to get got you get get to that next space and that's what keeps me smiling that's what you're like oh if i get another chance to to crack this [ __ ] tomorrow i'm gonna be better than i was yesterday you said something just not i wish more people would grasp we're never gonna be perfect but social media creates this unattainable bar of perfection like everybody got to be flawless none of us can make a mistake i think that's going to end up ultimately ruining society i don't think that's but that the only reason why i said that's nothing new because and i'll take that back in to head what newspaper headlines that used to be what social media was and even watch we're gonna see this interview right here that we have and there's gonna be a sentence something i said something wild and we talked to we laughing and then they gonna take that piece nick cannon says he only uses condoms for horse they're gonna take that piece that's what's gonna be the conversation that's everybody gonna have an opinion on it we're gonna get mad clicks all the money is gonna be made but what did that do where was the spiritual currency or if you constantly repeat something that even you know was taken out of context and then you have an opinion about what's taking you like even all of the like i've sat back and watched this social you know expression of my own personal life and watch people literally talk about my life on so many different and i'm like oh you projecting like i was like oscar wilde is like criticism is often an autobiography you know and that's it's like you're not talking about me you talking about your own situation but you're utilizing me to convey whatever message you're trying to convey so i social media that's what people are doing you can you can see people's pain through social media and they nine times out of ten they ain't talking about you they talking about their pain what advice would nick cannon give to the baby right now oh yeah cause course correction is fine right i think that's what you that's what we learned from your situation and then wrong with course correction first of all i think not only in the black community and i've experienced it not only but definitely just men a lot of times we have that ego man we we believe apologizing is weakness when it actually takes great strength to step up to anyone and say i was wrong uh and then think and and because a lot of times we think apologizing like well i'm sorry you feel bad you gave me sorry someone's feeling no you have to step up and say oh i didn't handle that in the way that i'm not perfect and that shows strength i i know baby you know what i mean and that's a strong brother absolutely and i've been through a lot with a lot of traumas yeah like just the fact that that man not only just lost his pops his brother his all the things that he and and still to be had that big smile that he has every day knowing everything that he comes like you know i i grew up in charlotte part of my life i i know that life i think is the attack though and that could be part of ego like you know you do something wrong right and instead of having a conversation like we're having now it's the attack now you want to cancel me now as a man i just want to be like [ __ ] y'all but and that and that's he he a fighter right we seen we seen his back against the wall he's swinging right he's swinging just so he can get out of where so we all have to accept emotion and there's people that i had some very harsh conversations with initially that i'm we close now because we got to the after you chunk them up then like okay this was a misunderstanding i said and and i've i've had to have many of those conversations and i'm going to continue to have those conversations yeah because that's growth that's where and that's where we talk about and uh it's the choice of words because to say i'm sorry that's a self-proclamation you just i'm that's not to apologize is action you know what i mean and to to actually repent or atone is actually the next level because now you're trying to understand this education involved with that there's actually community involved with that and that's the other thing too where i challenge all these people who want to cancel somebody and even specifically in uh the babies uh situation let's use this as an opportunity for education because that's what happened in my scenario to where i still stuck true to the truths and and the the minister told me this where he was like i don't ever want falsehood to come out of my mouth so if i'm saying something that is not correct about your community show me where i'm incorrect correct me that's right if i if i'm saying these things about the lgbtqia community show me where i'm wrong help me understand because not only is that going to help me but you're going to help so many other people who think like me there's so many the babies out there like and then we got to break it down when we talk about those ideas we were all ignorant all of us like like even like i still even as a father i gotta when i see my son might say something like you can't say that you know what i mean there's nothing wrong with being this way but you can't condemn somebody for doing this or thinking even if it's funny even and then you have to also as adults you have to know when okay this was entertainment this is a joke y'all see the jokes we have on wild and out all day long but there there's no hate involved when you take out the hate then you should be able to say and operate but when you're using trigger words when you're using things that yo there's that's hateful like you like we we know we got it that there's a difference between like oh something you [ __ ] like there's hate in one of them and there's one like you still that's still not good but i don't feel like you hate me you feel like you just you [ __ ] around so in that same sense we have to be mature adults to say the baby wasn't trying to be hateful but there's some hateful institutionalization that's going on that's in us as men that we feel like we might say man [ __ ] all that we do even when you say i'm gonna just be a man there's being a man better than being a woman you know what i'm saying like it's it's so it's those ideas is it is being admit is or any however you identify how do you feel about all those festivals pulling them off i feel like that's the wrong thing to do a hundred i don't agree with it just because it's like what statement is that making other than you're just following is group think it's a mentality it's it's it's mob rule mob rule has never worked in any society to where it's like oh well they did it we got to do it it's so funny even when i i watched my process where people i rock wit was like man well they did it so we gotta we gotta follow suit you know and even in this space of media because what everybody's fear that the dollar will be snatched away so and the dollar goes all the way up to the top so if like oh i can't lose this sponsorship or i can't lose this if well this this if pepsi pulled out coke got to pull out you know what i mean and then you have some real bosses and some real leaders right now i'm gonna stand firm with you and i feel like all of these festivals put out this group thing they're saying well we did it we're it's the y'all feeling the pressure so then who are you really because you you can be you can be knocked off you can some there's a group that can force you to do what you want to do with your brand and it's unfortunate because when i don't i think if we had sat down and had individual conversations and this is a moment where we should all gather around the baby and embrace them because if we can do that watch how many mentalities will change in the hip-hop community yeah you got to give the offender uh well first of all you offend and then it's going to be consequences and that person has to be held accountable but then you got to give that person the opportunity to learn and you use it as a teachable moment and he is such a he's a great example of that because of all that he's been through he's an intelligent person now it's certain people as we know we've there's other people out there they say wild [ __ ] yeah you ain't no help don't save them but someone like that you can utilize him i i guarantee you he'd sit down and talk with madonna i guarantee you he'd sit down and talk with john i get it wouldn't be for the bag he could he was good before like he he's good but if this is an opportunity to take his fans on the journey because we and a lot of people don't even see we see the polarizing conversation we see with some people being was he wrong no you know yeah he was but but but there are certain things about it that we've been trained to think that's right let's unpack that that's right let's figure this out like even when the doctor say be documented we we spend a lot of time and i've been this has been even one of the challenges for us even in the in the edit when we talk about aids because there's so many misconceptions about aids where it originated who who it was who it came through first who can get it yeah and and it started in 1978 when wherever it came from it was it was i have news clips in the in the documentary i'm like do i use this because there's news it's news footage calling it the gay disease i think you should and it is like hey now you should put that in there like no you shouldn't because you got history yeah that's what it was called yeah and you got to show people where it came from and you do have to show people that misinformation and those misconceptions i think you should show that yeah and it and it's literally is this thing and not to put it all on the russians but there's there's also this thing called it was operation infection that's what it was called to where there was a lot of misinformation that was sent into america about aids specifically and where it came from and so all of these the the monkey concepts the did they put it in the black community in the gay community only and where like and there's so many different studies and we got cases because i wanted to kind of show the misconception and idea to and as dr sabi as the savior and holistic you know practitioner to come in and say your body can heal yourself against these infections and these viruses based off of what you put into it because it's all about the imbalance it's all about the the alkalinity of this self-healing miraculous organism that we all have and but the fear of what aids is the way we ostracize people we ostracized entire group of people as they were dying as they were saying help me we don't know what's going on we just ran from them right we people didn't want to play basketball with magic johnson right call him alone i remember that never do it but even with that can you be me exactly but so in a moment like the babies that was that was like lack of knowledge not lack of intelligence not lack of intellect lack of information because he's such an intelligent person that if if we hadn't been indoctrinated and brainwashed with these concepts of oh this is a gay disease and you ain't doing we those type of things wouldn't come out of our mouth so we got to get to the root of why is black men why is in the hip hop community do we talk so bad about oh you this and using these terms like you're we would say certain [ __ ] that we wasn't really talking about the gay community right but even just the idea of saying somebody wasn't tough yeah we use that slurp for saying somebody wasn't tough somebody was soft yeah stuff like that and i was like let's just use different words look you soft are you gonna say that oh flimsy ass [ __ ] yeah i mean look i need to pause that but even then like pause i mean i did a whole i when no homo was the pause i did a whole stand-up bit like oh no homo you know what i mean like why why is men and i and i know a lot of cats would be like if you got to say paul why were you thinking that way anyway you know what i mean it's like if you comfortable with who you are i don't give a [ __ ] where you put your dick in the daytime or at night like that's your dinner what i'm doing mine is where mine is i got it yours is around too many women probably keeping track of where this one's going [ __ ] i care about what you're doing with yours that's right but but that's some that's real man [ __ ] i'm not i'm not intimidated but because of and i i hate taking it back to race or i even just make it about just as much as we go through as individuals when when you're indoctrinated with [ __ ] and lies it comes out in the most inopportune times and then we want to deal with it that ain't cause let's let's break it down we know what the baby was doing like as entertainers dj yo if you i'm all all the ugly people be quiet i need all the bad [ __ ] in the building to get to make some noise he just took it to a whole nother but again it was some call and response because if you feeling like you the healthiest and the happiest you could be in the moment you gonna make some noise but what about the people who not feeling healthy what about the people who do feel ugly you know what i mean like damn you just called me out dad i was a trigger now i came i paid my good money and now people looking at me funny and we got to understand the power that we have as as the people with the microphones but one of my my biggest problem i think was and i hate to single anybody out right but i look at eminem right and eminem says said wow still say wow [ __ ] let me stand over here i know nick about to shoot no shots out the marshall but then he did the thing with elton john and everything was good right right then a couple of years later he went back to it three years later actually three years ago yeah so my whole time i didn't see them pull anything from him i never seen him tv say we know the currency of caucasianness the complexion for the protection like it seemed like they gave him a chance to redeem himself and do they did it the right way with i think it's too early because i think they will do it with debate they will yeah they will he's going the baby's not canceled the baby's not over i i pray uh that he utilizes this moment and sees where this can actually turn around and be a good moment i always say you know i quote dr king every freaking day but it's like where uh evil men plot good men playing you know what i mean and it's this is i i say this is a time for planning because there's something so a minor setback for a major comeback this could be so big for all these communities that are involved if they handle it the right way because these are conversations that need to occur these are conversations that homophobia is a real thing but we all grow up with people with different lifestyles in our lives and we all got the our gay cousins uh our gay sisters and brothers and we loved them to death we all i grew up with multiple family members passing away from aids during the 80s early 90s i remember that type of stuff and i cried my hardest at them funerals you know because but that i don't we don't but we have this indoctrinated hate and our fear even more so in our community of certain groups for no reason i don't as a man i do not i act now and i'll get and this is where what i'll get to and this is why we do the pause and all of this stuff because what we really fear is the down low mentality what we really fear is people not being true to themselves what are we really talking about is you not even solid enough to be who you are because if you watch wilding out if you watch whoever we got we got like shouts out to it's your boy candy you know what i mean like i love people you know joe and san antoine i love people who are so comfortable and so free i love and and on the other side as well in the lesbian community where people who will stand firm and be i am what i am like even when people have whether i heard gay rumors or even like that [ __ ] was it orlando brown stuff he was like hey i forget linda brown like the world would know it because everything that i am i am proud of that so when i see people in the lgbtq community i love pride week i'll be out there with them because i'm like you proud to be who the [ __ ] you want to be but what we fear what hip hop doesn't like is when you pretending to be something you're not and that's the stuff where you like and again there's there's certain constructs there's reasons why people can't come out because society has not allowed us to be who we are so there's the there's the church community where we knew the choir director was you know but he wasn't allowed to to be himself all the way because there was a religious construct that could confined him we knew that there's people like let people love who they want to love let people be who they want to be and that's why i commend and love any gay how or whatever non-binary whatever you want to be when you can be who the [ __ ] you want to be that's power that's strength that's freedom and that that that's what hip-hop represents and that those are the times when i mean you you faking it you you really you want to download that's what that's what we fear where someone living a life one way and they really live in this life and i pray that we can get to that space one day where everybody is so comfortable that they can be who they want to be my guy uh andrew you know he's a comedian he says that he said when you pause something you want to see it yeah you want to get up close to it like shouldn't it be fast forward with the spotlight on that real quick to say that was a moment right of us but but again like we should never especially guys like because we shouldn't fear to have the conversations that we have because hopefully they're all conversations of growth right yeah it's crazy that we have to and i don't know why but it's always like this it has to be something extreme that gets us to these conversations yeah whether it's about racism whether it's about sexuality whether it's about gender it's always anti-semitism whatever there's always something that happens that get us to have these conversations something extreme has to happen and i i think all that you've been through all that i've been through envy even the stuff that you you go through as well i think we have to be you know i'm not the martyrs we're saying but we're in a position because we can ignite those conversations and put them in the right direction i know i'm gonna get cancelled again cause i talk my real [ __ ] and sometimes in a moment i might say some [ __ ] where i didn't [ __ ] i didn't i wasn't thinking about i was just trying to be funny oh [ __ ] i was i was talking about this but it was that i could cancel once a year charlemagne gets cancer about three times a year yeah i say something yeah i say something every week and at this point it's like i caught all right the interrogators are out there and i'm gonna sit back ain't gonna let you shake me like but let's talk about it you know what i've learned to do though um i think i used to make a lot of definitive statements now i just i ask the questions because i really do want to know like i'm asking questions now instead of saying this is what i think it's like well what if such is like i like to ask questions that's obvious because then i'm opening up the conversation i said i have none of the answers and all the questions well that's even like going into my new talk show because i got to think let's talk about that well before that when is the documentary coming out dr oh yeah i personally we had a kelly kelly bowman here oh yeah she didn't seem like she knew either she was yeah you know i mean what we have there's there's several cuts of it like they're joining about four hours long right now uh the goal has been for sundance i want to do it on the big level i told you know i gave my word to all the family members involved from nip side as well as to uh dr sadie's family like it's not about the money for me i'm millions in already uh and i don't want to make a dollar back um it's about having it set up the right way and i wanted to get all the accolades as supposedly i'm not even a wars type [ __ ] but i want i want those family members to be proud of the statements that they made and i wanted to reach the people that is the level that it's supposed to reach because you know even matt books like eat to live that we all understand like that's that's a staple in our community and i'm literally trying to take eat to live and put it in celluloid put it on camera to where people say i watch every time i watch that documentary i'll learn something did you ever meet him i didn't the crazy thing is right when i got diagnosed with lupus everybody's like we gotta get your doctor saved out and you know dick gregory was my mentor and they were close in a younger day and then they i think they kind of they they started a couple different concepts you know it had a lot to do with like alkaline well but they were both you know leaders in in the holistic uh community and dick gregory was that every time i was in the hospital dick gregory was right there um so he was like you know what [ __ ] talking about doctor save you talk to me i talk about saving dick gregory was the one who walked me through through my process and my healing uh but you know now that i'm so you know connected to dr sabe's family and his family members like it was those times where i was supposed to get with him and i think that's even that's what nip and i talked about uh when and he was you know such a beautiful brother his spirit because he was talking about man how are you feeling is this this you taking a supplement you know and we had those conversations and literally because dr sabi has an office in in los angeles like in the hood so that was what we were discussing you know his grandson was close to both of us so we that's even how i even knew before he came on said he was doing a documentary we was talking about that and i felt like that was our one connection outside of music in the industry so i was like well let me carry this on because i remember us talking about that i know he wants to do that and not do this so i couldn't believe his i met him a couple times but i couldn't i couldn't believe his age and how active he was and the fact that he was he didn't work out yeah he just walked he could jump he could and it was just amazing to me and just a great individual great man and it's like it's funny like you had the opportunity to meet him but it's like we interviewed him like four or five times yeah and i feel like i i've gotten to know him through all of these interviews and the research and the family members and stuff and he just seemed like it was such a beautiful brother and it's all about energy man and like whether all he's like people like oh you just trying to beat doctor sabi like like because my man had at least 30 kids they had counting but it was one because it's that energy that aura when you walk into the room like you're just drawn to it and to have a beautiful spirit that's that's that's one in a million man and i i wish i could have met him and again i pray that i do do his legacy uh the service that it deserves because just he he's immortalized now in a real way nip immortalized like now people will learn from them brothers forever i'll tell you i tell everybody the story he one time he stood on on his desk he's about 65 years old jumped off the desk and landed on his knees got back up and was like it doesn't affect me it's because the way my bones in my body is i couldn't i couldn't do that when i met him at 20. i can't do it at 40. just just imagine how in shape he was for the things he put in his body yeah and that's it and we go we break it all down and it's like that's the thing that's the tough part about the documentary was like uh how long do we spend on the actual african biomineral process how long do you spend on these big yeah cause because nipsey specifically said he wanted to make a documentary about the case so that's what we're trying to stick to is like so much there's so much other stuff yeah i talk about magic in it we we dabble in it you know what i mean but again like because i only want to spit truths and facts so the thing you know i asked magic about that up here yeah and he was i forgot the answer but i asked him about going to see dr sebby yes i i asked doctors michael jackson eddie murphy teddy pendergrass left eye yeah like he was he was next to a bunch of people and for whatever reasons you know and that's the thing even about you know holistic understanding anyway you really have to believe it you got to walk in it and that people like people tell me you know i've lived plant-based and alkaline water and but i still take my medicine from the doctor and any holistic practitioner would tell you yo do what you feel is working for your body because if you don't believe it it's not going to work and that's the deepness that we really get into it's a very simplistic concept but you are going to practice what you actually truly believe and that's what's going to heal you you know what i mean like yes the the food is our medicine but you got to understand that's the reason why the the foods of nature are color coded you got to know what the yellow foods do you gotta know what the green foods do you got to know what the red foods if you don't know and you just eating to eat it's not going to do what it's supposed to do you could take a whole bunch of pills and some of them could be poison and some of them could be the the antidote but if you take them all at once you got to know how to interact with eat to live you got to know that structure that's that's why they call it uh african environmental process right so that's it's just really the understanding going back to what we're saying the knowledge so you know next year maybe for the daca like i said i'm hoping it's sundance which is i think which should be the top of top of next year and again launching the talk show will allow me to even have to allow that to let's talk about this talk show when is the talk show coming what network what is it going to be about september 27th okay come on out to wendy williams and and they were saying that you were having trouble booking guests is that true that's all that [ __ ] first of all my show ain't even about guess what [ __ ] celebrities say that no i don't even believe in the concept celebrity i'm not celebrating an individual because they're popular that's the opposite of who i am i want to celebrate people because they're worth being celebrated because they're they are the everyday man my show ain't about celebrities of course i'm the ta i want the people i'm intrigued by to come on show but just because you popular everybody popular it's youtubers that i don't even know they got more followers than the biggest movie stars so so i don't give a [ __ ] about celebrity so that was i was like i laughed at that because like i don't want i'm not friends with celebrities i'm friends with people that we have like-minded interests and so i'm friends with people who act who sing who dance but i don't i don't care about so that i don't do it for the likes i do it for the love now what nick clone is going to do this because there's no way in hell you could do all the things that you do from the radio show to the talk show to acting people thought i was hating when i said nick's not gonna be on the radio much longer because he has so many things [Laughter] no you know what the talk show is actually going to give me structure first of all i'm going to be here in harlem as you all know y'all wake up so you're gonna say you're gonna are you still doing a radio show yeah i'm yeah of course that's foreign but i'm here on the e what you mean try to kick me out i only do one day a week on the talk show though no but listen this is it's bringing structure to my life for my children for my everything because now i'm going to be in the same place every single day and i'm still going to be by coastal but during the week i will be here in new york okay and that therefore i can do all my syndicated radio because we start earlier than the rest of the world so i will be i'm doing this what what we doing right here at 6 00 am preparing me for what i have to do at 10 a.m live it's a structured day i'm i'm at the crib by three yeah you still got that's a lot though you got to do all you got to run your businesses no that's twelve to three now my off now i don't have seven different offices now my office is at the studio so now whatever business we're running i'm in harlem you know what i mean i'm with the community i go outside i see my people you know what i'm saying like and also i watched it with wendy she had to give it up the daytime talk show daytime talk is a beast he didn't have to give it up but you know what first of all i get up we get we get up four five in the morning already steve didn't see him steve couldn't maintain it either i love steve he does radio he does the talk show he's not no more family feud if anybody can do it nick can do it right i'm just saying i know it's a lot but it's not too i'm there i'm doing it anyway like to me it makes it easier because as you guys know you gotta you gotta schedule the interview yeah yeah you gotta make oh we couldn't do this now they know what it is i'm that one-stop shop to where oh okay first you walk in and accept you gotta go do the radio interview first now we don't create a report and a radio and every we did that 10 30 minutes all right now let's go do the podcast all right after the podcast now let's go sit down for the seven minutes that you get to talk to him on the talk it's a machine yeah so now so if my business is set up right if my team is set up right doing this it's just another we just walking from over here to over there and then yeah no i want you to do that i want you to do that cause then you'll be tired and your penis won't have so much free time so once you relax i want you to do that do the radio tv as many kids because i'm at work oh we got to talk about sheet ball yeah you know i wanted to ask you one thing about she walked when i watched the trailer and i'm watching watch it i want y'all to watch it tonight i'm dead serious was it inspired by cindy mcpherson from the boondocks i'm dead serious when i asked that it wasn't but i think like i'm gonna be honest with you uh it was inspired by this it was by um the drew league and basketball beauties in l.a and the drew league if you know is like started in compton it was you know everybody even played in the drew julie nba players to rappers and it's just and it was this small like and even in obviously they were inspired by by rucker and then they created this thing called basketball beauties in l.a which i found to be hilarious in the name but it was women who can hope and they would be bad cause they'd be actresses and you know models and then they would go hoop just like in the drew league and i was like yo that's dope and i really wanted to focus on having a daughter i was like i want to focus on young women in sports and women empowerment in that sense and how a father has to can be just as hype for his daughter whooping that came for her son hoop and that's where the concept came from and then i was watching the gentrification going on in our community specifically in inglewood out there and harlem here and all that but inglewood because they just built this giant ass stadium and they was trying to move [ __ ] about the hood and i was like there's some correlation between the concept of uh white people coming into the hood and women in sports and i was like oh there's something there and then so when i started to write i was like imagine and i always tell people ah here go another white savior movie white girl comes and saves the hood now if you watch the movie the hood actually saves the white girl in it sister that's i was wondering i was my next question why is it a white woman starring but that you just yeah as simple as that because and we i get to it and you know what i've learned too because i was like i also i don't want to preach no more you know what i mean i'm that it ain't even for me like i've learned like i don't even want to get out here and start telling white people what they did wrong i'm tired of negotiating with white people like oh you did this to us and you did it and you don't understand you know and critical race theory this and uh i'm tired i'm not having that conversation no more what god has blessed me with because he's given me the ability to be a storyteller and i can have all of those conversations and entertain somebody at the same time and they could take and that's what spike taught me that you know what i mean i am working with spike lee is like people don't have opinions about all your work but at least you get to say what you want to say and i was like oh i was like so you ain't never gonna have to worry about me like even if you see me out in all of the marches i'm usually in the back quiet watching observing i'm there to support i donate money doing whatever but i don't i'm not i don't want to have a speech i don't want to get out there and say we need i'll leave that to tamika i'll leave that to my song i'll leave that to to to risa i i i'll i'll leave that to all of the people that i support and that we talk your role is probably activism through art exactly yeah and and dick gregory uh mr b mr bella all of these people have shown me like you don't have to they be there but i don't have to be have the dr king speech i don't have to have uh the malcolm x quote i'm there to tell these stories and you'll see in shebaugh we unpack a lot and we laughing joey's faison love in there dc young fly it's funny lou nail everybody funny and [ __ ] but we talking about real real stuff in our communities that go you know cedric entertainer plays you know uh billy d balls councilman billy d balls and you but it is funny as [ __ ] but you watch when you know uh a prominent black man in a community is trying to do what he thinks is best for his community by selling properties and oh man we got to bring businesses into the community and wealth but are we really bringing wealth into our community are we is it back to the reverse engineer we letting white people buy up everything you know on the things that we thought were ours are we going is it re-enslavement you know just for the dollars so it's it's concepts like that that we sit here and talk about that motherfucker's gonna turn fast forward but if you like [ __ ] you see that [ __ ] said that in the movie and now it's you know so much game we got from boys in the hood you know how much gain we got from paid in full y'all put the medicine in the candy there it is i got i got um a question for you versus oh mariah carey who would you love to see mariah carey go again first of all i thought you about to ask nick if he gonna do a version like stop come on man always be an interrogator you know what and i will get to that you know the thing about my music is like i don't that it's funny to me because i eat rhyming words ain't hard like i talk rhyming words dr seuss did it no who you are is a person we we love biggie because of the person he was we love pop because of the person he was we loved rock kim because of the person he was the word rhyme scheme that's we see anybody get like how y'all know nick it's been kind of hard for you charlemagne i've seen you try to rap like it's it's not hard to rhyme words now if the construct of b i don't i never want it to be and i'm gonna tell you and i'll tell you i never wanted to be the greatest rapper ever because i do so much i i could play seven instruments [ __ ] rhyming words what's music theory let's talk about ionian dorian lydian mixolydian let's talk that [ __ ] let's talk let's talk jazz let's let's talk do you know like that i'm like i'm a musician so hip-hop i i salute everybody you can do it i i'm a poet let's talk nicki giovanni let's talk maya angelou let's let's talk paul lawrence dunbar so like i look at like i look at people bickering in a sandbox about who's who could kick this animal like rhyming words is not a difficult thing now to be a great artist now we want to talk about that i'm here to be the best artist i can be and i think when it's all said and done when i'm going like oh that [ __ ] could get down a little bit that [ __ ] actually was talented not for music everything else i mean everything when i say everything else let's talk this tells us all about real quick are we saying because i'll give you one another are we saying rap or music i've only heard you rap what was that what yeah i you never see me play guitar oh no no you talk about i saw the piece you did with um oh what was the sister name kiara shearer kiara shearer that was dope i've been i grew up in a church charlotte man pick up any instrument in a church and play he's judging you off for gigolo yeah i'm just talking right fire giggle one fire gigolo okay i like gigolo okay how hard you say the words you ain't gonna make that song no more fights you didn't like can i live man anthony hamilton me and kanye produced it changed lives wasn't i don't even remember that record i remember jay-z you cannot live yo i do back to mariah carey versus he's he's gonna hate on me forever and i love it because it's my friend i need that i need this just in the music yeah i support nick and everything else he does music so okay okay because we get the verses so while in out ain't music oh why not i produce every beat on that show every song you've heard i wrote it really every one even when they be doing like the the songs like the uh the church who makes the best where do you think the beat came from every song every music everything you hear i make on the spot sometimes okay anything sonically that's ever come out of why i've made myself wow okay i didn't know what you say now but i don't i don't get out here while i was a billion dollar brand absolutely i made every song on that [ __ ] what are you saying i support him in everything he does except for his rap career i love riley kids didn't look like me or some [ __ ] no no it was uh i forgot oh you're the birdman of tv and you need to pay all your little easies me that's a lot off the top go back to back to birthday yes versus who could go against mariah [ __ ] i don't think any they were saying man it's unfortunate and this is uh and we've we i don't open up this can but the only person who has the level of talent and this would never happen the level of talent and hits when houston no because mariah writes that's why people got to understand mariah is a musician i i'm not impressed by people who could perform songs that it took 30 people to make with you um that's a lot of people though that's gonna be that's michael jackson they can't establish somebody but no bro that's michael jackson that's beyonce exactly that's right the greatest i'll tell you the greatest are the ones who can you could put somebody in a room by they damn self when they come out with a hit that's why steve shouts out to stevie wonder the greatest art no one could ever do a versus with him and that's like that's literally he was one he was one of the real ones that called me that's like close friends and he and i have this conversation there's a different level what do you say i see what's going on with you [ __ ] really all the time [Laughter] he's looking at the phone he's so [Laughter] i'm impressed by artists like that so only person in this day and age that could go that could have gone against mariah carey because she writes all of her songs she actually produces all of her songs she puts the songs together and performs them at a high level r kelly but that ain't going to happen i told you it's not going to happen because of his personal endeavors and all the things what do you mean so for this for this era or like what do you mean because i'm thinking prince based on what you're saying yeah like even because even people talk about like mariah and janet which on that level of diva i would love to see it like the songs that we mariah and janet would be fired but if we just talking about skill level like when we saw you know whenever how we got excited for dip set in the locks like we talking about matching talents because mariah is a writer as we and has written more hits than anybody only other person i could think of that has that ability that could sit down and make music on the spot was our character she actually got help with some of her songs i didn't know i did all that i mean what did jd do then yeah he's a producer but again because there's musicians there's producers there's writers of course like and you know we've all been been in those sessions you need help but i've actually watched mariah write out lyrics and say i'm gonna go put this to something you know what i mean i don't see we don't see that there's lyric books of like people say they got their vocabulary for mariah carey like that type of style of songwriting even talking to stevie wonder he's like yo he doesn't do anything until he has a great lyric and then he goes and puts the music to it which so like there's a level to that and then when you can perform it at a six octave level you know what i mean and that's what i've i watched r kelly do the same thing his was on some like savant type [ __ ] though like where he would literally be and then five minutes later it's a whole ass hit song so it's like obviously he had so many other problems and issues and you know pain in his life that we will no longer get to see him do that anymore but we still gotta acknowledge the the fact that the the man was gifted he was gifted yeah that conversation isn't i don't think he's been around so but at that level like he when you think about the level of hits that he pinned and put together like other than gigolo because he doesn't think it was a hit but i mean it was a hit i just you know he didn't [ __ ] with it let's play it let's play it right now don't play jiggly bars call me the scarecrow i'm looking for some brain that's a bar nick we appreciate you for joining us let's go let's let's play jigglypuff no you're not i do not only want to hear it we don't celebrate nick enough in our culture for everything that nick does for black people he keeps black people employed he's put out a lot of black talent out here in this culture over the years that's right this isn't nothing new so we're just getting started and i know you're just getting started so i i we got a salute in the canyon we do not give nick cannon his flowers enough man we really do so let's do it nick cannon don't give me no flowers here's jiggler plant some seeds breakfast club good morning [Music] you
