hey and welcome to Monaco one of the smallest countries of the world but also one of the richest and today I'm going to take you on a tour to this beautiful little country which is really more of a city and uh we'll check out all the major sites that Monaco has to offer let's have a look [Music] is of course a place for the rich and beautiful but even if you're not rich or beautiful there's lots you can do in Monaco Monaco is more than just a Formula One racing gambling and eating and fancy restaurants or cruising in yards there's lots to see there's a rich history in this country we're going to visit some of the sites that you can see with a smaller budget let's have a look Monaco sits on the French Riviera and it's a small principality that's headed by the Prince of Monaco the principality stretches for only two square kilometers but what this country lacks in size it certainly makes up in style there's so much to see in this principality that you're not going to get bored [Music] Casino square and of course this is one of the big highlights already when you come to Monaco this is where the famous Monte Carlo Casino is located and you may know this place from some of the James Bond movies that you may have seen it's quite iconic and even if you're not into gambling I personally am not a gambler at all you can't help but being awe about the beauty of this wonderful architecture the casino De Monte Carlo is one of the most famous casinos in the world particularly as it was built in the flamboyant Bozart style in 1893 up to today it's absolutely a must-see when you come to Monaco [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] next to the casino you have the Opera De Monte Carlo which is also known as the Sal Garnier the Opera of Monte Carlo was built in 1878 and it's the main performance space of Monaco I just admired the architecture from the outside but if you get a chance to get a ticket for an opera performance by all means that must be really amazing foreign [Music] [Music] thank you and of course you can't deny that Monaco is one of the most renowned places for Formula One racing and there's various statues along the way and commemorative plates that show the iconic spots on this important Racetrack and the Formula One World [Music] [Music] next we're exploring the Japanese which is a traditional Japanese garden that's not the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Monaco but it's really a beautiful little garden that is not far away from the casino square and it's a noises of Tranquility right in the city [Music] foreign [Music] Monte Carlo also has its own Beach and that is lavoto Beach it's close to the iconic Avenue Princess Grace and is the only public beach in the principality it's not very large but it's actually quite beautiful let's have a look [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] thank you [Music] my next stop is the Champions Promenade and if you are a fan of soccer or football then this is the best place for you to be because this Promenade features the Footsteps in Boston bronze from all the major soccer players you'll find typical Ronaldo and all the greats of soccer in this Boulevard [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] where you can see all the beautiful yards and boats some are larger some are smaller but some are really really huge and uh it's another testimony that there's lots of wealth in this place I think that I find really impressive here in Monaco is how clean the city is there is reports of people constantly cleaning the walkways the streets the parks everything's super well maintained and just picture perfect there's also a public swimming pool here directed by the harbor but uh pretty cool location for a swimming pool up there you can already see the rock the Roche which is the Old Town part of Monaco and we're gonna go up there later [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] okay let's head to our next destination which is the machete condomin an indoor market that is supposed to be quite beautiful let's have a look [Music] thank you [Music] thank you foreign [Music] [Music] laughs [Music] okay I'm now heading up to the Rocher and give you a pro tip don't do this during noon hours it's super hot here and the Sun is just scorching but I hope I'll make it and I'll see you up there [Music] thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right I'm now up on the Roche and the first thing that you see when you come up here is the Palladio France which is the official residence of The Sovereign Prince of Monaco the Grand Palace of Monaco was built in 1191 initially as a generous Fortress over the years all sorts of architectural Styles have been used to renovate and add on to the old fortress the result is a mainly Renaissance style Majestic Palazzo the palace is very much used as a residence you can visit the palace when the prince is not around and one way to tell that that's the case is that the flag is not raised so right now it is race so I assume he's around and one can't get in but I'm not sure because there's a Queue at a ticket booth so we'll have to find out some of the sections might not be accessible look at those recycling trash bins isn't that just a beautiful way to recycle your trash do you see a statue of Francois Grimaldi who I guess founded the Grimaldi Dynasty in 1297. we see the views from up here are just spectacular you can get a fantastic view from all three sides of the Rock the fourth one is covered by the princess palace but the palace is also a great way to start our walking tour now up here in the old town so while much of Monaco is modern this is the historical part of the city and it's definitely worth checking out the old town is a really nice Labyrinth of Smallville Alleyways that date from the Middle Ages you'll find quite a few attractions in Monaco many of which are very much historical and it's just nice to wander around those small streets that take you back in time and when I talk about old town this is really old it's actually dating back to the 6th century when this was a Greek colony foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] from up here you have a really cool View on the Monaco Harbor check this out you can also see the casino and the Opera House way over there beyond the harbor on the other side and everything around that that's friends and I think you get a good feel of how small Monaco really is [Music] thank you I've now arrived at the Cathedral of Monaco so we're gonna try to get inside let's have a look what's really impressive about this Cathedral is the white stones that have been used for its construction looks really quite beautiful it was only built in 1875 but there are some pieces within the cathedral that stem all the way back to the 1500s another thing that stands out in this Cathedral is that it's the burial place of the princess of Monaco the rain years have been buried here and you'll find Renee III as well as Grace Kelly's tomb here inside of the cathedral foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] all right after this beautiful cathedral let's head on to our next site which is the oceanographic museum the museum oceanographic is 90 meters above the sea level and took about 11 years to construct the foundations to stop the museum toppling down to the ground the museum was officially opened in 1910 which makes it one of the oldest aquariums in the world one of the main sections of the museum is dedicated to a collection of Scientific items that date from an exploration undertaken by Prince Albert the first as well as Jacques Cousteau there are a number of aquariums in there that contain over 6 000 marine life creatures over 100 different pools are designed to mimic their natural environments including reconstructed coral reefs entrance to the aquarium is 18 Euros which is about 19 dollars I didn't go inside I'm not a big fan of aquariums but if you like that kind of thing definitely check out this one foreign [Music] [Music] which is a walkway on a beautiful garden path that surrounds the Roche Rock Let's have a look you'll find a memorial statue of Prince Albert the first this Garden Route skirts along the coastline of The Rock and features a number of beautiful flowers both indigenous and exotic that thrive here due to the Fantastic Mediterranean climate make sure to check out the beautiful views that you can have from this walkway [Music] foreign [Music] here in Monaco is the many beautiful sculptures everywhere it almost feels like an outdoor Museum and wherever you go there's a nice modern art sculpture and it's just really beautiful [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] from here you have a great view on Solarium Beach Solarium Beach is actually not really a beach it's more of a set of steps that lead into the water and the water is quite deep which allows you to jump in if you're there soon there'll be a few guys that are jumping in right now again it's not really a beach if you want to go to the beach you have to go to the public beach or Monaco okay I'm now heading to the cranky for sure the crank the pressure is a small hidden Pebble Beach area that is uh not necessarily known by many people and if you want to get a bit of a secluded way to swim here in Monaco that's the best place to come and of course you can come here to do shopping or this window shopping because the prices in those luxury brand stores must be outrageous [Music] thank you [Music] [Music] so I think when you're in Monaco there's two options you have in terms of Transport it's either scooter or a Bugatti or Ferrari well I'm kidding there's of course lots of public transport here but I've never seen as many Bugattis and Ferraris in one place in my life it's absolutely insane [Music] thank you [Music] thank you with uh and the world famous Mercedes Silver Arrow a commemoration of the rich Formula One race history here in the city [Music] foreign [Music] Monaco there's a few tourist offerings like this little tourist Monaco choo-choo train that are circles the city there's also the double decker red tours bus that stops at all the major sides of Monaco and last but not least you can also use public transport and there's a bus routes that go through the city Pro tip if you come here in the summer months and you do this like me and the scorching summer heat you may want to get yourself a bottle of water because it's just really hot very hot today here's a money saving tip if you don't want to spend your euros and often overpriced cafes that the line the various streets and boulevards in Monaco you may just want to go to one of the grocery stores and buy yourself a snack a salad or something for a picnic which you can then take in one of the parks and eat there much cheaper and really yummy what's the language situation in Monaco well people here speak French but you won't have any issue getting around with English everybody speaks English this is a Cosmopolitan city that is used to welcoming guests from all over the world and they're all very well versed in English needless to say in terms of safety Monaco is a super safe country there's nothing to worry about there's police everywhere but that also means that uh if you come here by car make sure you're Park in the officially designated garages or spaces because otherwise you're going to get a ticket I've seen so many policemen around here that give tickets and that can get very pricey we should bring to Monaco could I'd say bring lots of money or credit card but uh Jokes Aside make sure you bring a head against the sun some sunblocker good walking shoes you're going to do quite a bit of walking and maybe a small backpack where you can pack some water all right if you enjoyed this video please give it a thumbs up and please also check out my other videos in and around Monaco the French Riviera there's so much to see in this beautiful part of the world and leave me a comment down below and if you haven't done so yet subscribe to my channel and I hope I see you next
