New Update, Fresh Start - No Man's Sky Orbital Update Part 1

stream today we're going to start looking at no man's Sky orbital and actually I want to start fresh again I have my old safe still so we could always switch over to that if you would want to but there's two things you can see I last played it in 2023 so I have basically will take me about uh half a day to get used to everything in the controls again but I think they also changed some of the things early games so I'm not 100% sure because of the new introduction of um the shipyard or the salvage yard where you can actually Salvage ships so instead of collecting and hunting now hundreds and hundreds of ships what we always used to complain about saying oh I can't have more than six ships whatever it was yeah ER now what you do is you collect parts and you can build your own custom ship and you can color it and whatever it doesn't work with Exotics but it works with basically every other ship type yeah the the haulers the fighters and and all that so I'm very excited actually to see how they did it and this is not a season or anything this is basically just uh part of the game a normal update so it did come as one of those um what do they call it Community Expeditions um which is really amazing so we're just going to start a normal game and once I have my bearings again we can swap over at some point to the other safe just to see what happened to my existing ships and um what's going on there but I thought it would be nice to sit here in the early evening late afternoon on Sunday and maybe spend a couple of hours and just um rekindle our love with no man Sky which is absolute amazing game so I hope you guys had a good Easter so far a good Easter weekend Oh I might have to turn the lights off we leave that one on it's still very bright outside so morning was literally thinking of doing this two finished fractured but hold right now oh what a great game Bender Min it's uh absolutely fantastic a game all the southb games are actually really amazing well the ones that I played which is the fractured but hole the The Stick of Truth and even the new one which is a lesser game compared to the other two but still very funny and it took us uh the the latest game I think took us only what 9 hours or 10 hours to to finish and that was us taking our sweet time K have a good afternoon thank you so much for the $ hey games how are you doing love to see you playing no man Sky again yes I love no man sky but it does get very um I never I never I always want to finish the story and I never finish the story it's just one of those games you know activ system we get our Starship now I wonder do we get our Starship in the beginning is it going to look any different do we already get a lot of extra um of the new features or is the new feature only starting when you actually unlock the Salvage because there's a lot of new building pads as well that the game has offered um or added sorry uh Conor oh you're crazy what are you doing uh thank you for the $10 we can notice anything I just I find it difficult when you jump into an existing game to identify what's new and what's not new when you haven't played it in a long [Music] time we are the anomaly oh no I mean I know what the story is yeah so it's not a mystery to me I um absolutely know how what the game is about and you know what we are and all that stuff I just never have finished it actually yes okay I think the music is a little loud it's amazing so apparently the way this works now in a salvage station you can literally change the cockpit the wings the booster all the parts out and you can create any ship that exists in the game just from those parts and I think that's pretty amazing because um it means you can uh you have a ship and you kind of wish that you know the way sometimes you look at a ship and say oh I wish I could have this ship with those wings yeah and now you can and I think that a so much better than them giving us an infinite amount of storage space for ships however I do know I will want to have multiple different ships as well like you know so I will probably still run out of space if they haven't increased that of all the different ships we have to find our parts repair diagnostic yes that's what we're missing okay metal plating I think we can craft the metal plating actually already no not yet we need more [Music] little oxygen things I just restarted the game last night myself oh nice uh you're playing on normal or creative or survival what are you playing on I was going to go with survival but that's just too painful actually I think because it's not really survival it's just it just makes things a bit more restricted and slower I was thinking of a custom game to actually make some things a little bit less restricted but um I it was just easier to press normal it okay so where do we have to go protction Starship We partially completed bought the ship oh we need to bought the ship again you also need to get some carbon I think to for our [Music] multi-tool now we need the Hermetic seal search the distress Beacon oh yeah now we're can to get our first map planetary charge I'm very excited to see what first ship we get because you know the way there's like in the beginning there's one of the missions in the starter missions where you get like it's another ship than that way you can get a distress call if you're lucky for a ship and sometimes people get a really awesome starter ships there that would be pretty sweet I mean money is not an issue in this game you know so it's not the end of the world so let's plot the route and knowing how good no man Sky now is I'm so looking forward to the new game where basically instead of a space you have a dragon or whatever the hell it is it's oh man I can't wait like if it looks like this and basically instead of a universe you have one big massive Planet like nearly real life-sized planet where like going from like say the North to the South Pole would take as long as on a dragon as it would probably take in real life around the earth and so instead they have instead of a universe with planets they have have the planet the universe is the planet and each each part of the planet is basically like a planet right now here in the universe like that's from what I understand that's how big their design is so I'm assuming you have a lot of phasing in and phasing out as well because there's no way you could load all that like at the same time you know but it it must be amazing if that works exactly the way they have it imagined in their head it must be absolutely amazing okay we always need more of those things so there we go we have some C over there um Almighty how are you oh normal yeah it's the same for me it's been 2023 in August 2023 that I played it last so about a year condensed carbon very nice so our multitool is down to 9% so incoming storm it's our multi tool here 9% there we go nice now protection falling I think we might need to my longest world I have is 96 hours and that was the one from well whatever August 2023 was um that update there around then that that's when I played so um I don't know if it was one update or two updates ago could have been two updates ago to be honest oh there the ship oh you have 645 that's crazy that is crazy okay so now can we and now we need the jelly that's right the thrusters is pure ferret so I think the crafting screen is that v b no oh I I don't remember what's the crafting screen is and we have the hydrogen jelly which I think we make from dehydrogen yeah so I wasn't wrong I remembered that correctly um put the jelly in okay now we have to craft uh we actually have also there we go we need another metal plate oh Z that's what it was yeah let's get some fuel going yeah that's enough and there we go we need to make 50 um Conor thank you again if I remember correctly that was the update where you allowed to me to come to one of your worlds to set up uh for storm crystals oh that could be I tried to get as many people onto the world as possible I think we just I I don't think there was a limit like we had like anybody who was watching was able to jump on the world and all that there was pretty crazy it was really nice we could see all those player names you know in the sky that was fantastic oh yeah the freighter have changed as well man it's so it's amazing okay so now I need to pick that up no no no no do I get my carbon back yes I love it okay so now we're going to go into here put the the fuel in and here we go so I can't get over it how they actually managed to not break the existing game and you can use the ships that you have and they're all of a sudden broken down into different components that you I mean they were already broken down into different components obviously but before they were just broken down into components here on that screen now they actually physically broken down into components which is amazing okay here we go also let's straight away go into um hang on yes ah crap um switch Starship fuse should be control one yes okay I still I still can't get over how I know there's a bit of a stutter when it loads in but the seamless transition it's like wow so many games want to do that and fail doing that you know it's just it's amazing how they ended up doing it it's just so [Music] wow and even the way you can actually go close enough to the planet and you can be in the um in the whatever it's the you know the layer that you see there between the planet and space you can actually get and fly right in through it um I might as well play most of the games on it to be honest because it saves me installing them and I don't have to worry about it so um Steven how are you now uh um thank you for that by the way you helped me find success no Sky well if anything I didn't help anybody that's always great to hear thank you so much Conor um now thanks to SpaceX we we know what re-entry plasma really looks like they should Implement that into this game oh Starfield fail miserably well they just went I mean the engine that they have on Starfield which is I think the the engine they Ed for Skyrim yeah there's no way it would have been able for it that engine is absolutely not capable of that there is no way so I can understand why they did what they did and I always expected that type of design to be honest I never expected anything different but um because like Fallout and all that you know we all know how those games are but I think anybody who kind of expected it to be more like Norman Sky Starfield they should have known better especially when you hear that they use the same engine a Skyrim no okay now I'm going to do what I usually do I'm intending to follow the main story line alert but navigation data received but I probably won't and the reason I won't is because one of the things that I still don't want to do is actually finish the game because I think in the end everything resets when you get to the end of the game and I I don't want to lose anything you know so look at this look at look at the the the storm that is amazing just look at the clouds and everything that is just so beautiful they have to imagine all that in the new light and Fire game on a single planet all the different biomes the different weather things and it must be absolutely insane and their engine is well able for it great greatly able for it so they probably should see if bethesa wants to you know pay subscription to their engine and then remake Starfield in Norman Sky engine that would be amazing well Norman sky is kind of Starfield already in a [Music] way yeah bigles absolutely they had to break it down even for New New Vegas yeah yeah because there's yeah there's no way and and again I I kind of expected that you know I I would never thought that it would be anything close to even noad sky and look at the arrival time yeah how as like like now right now we're in the atmosphere layer which is so amazing like look at the clouds here on our level and then you get deeper it's just so fantastic so let's go a little bit higher because otherwise those 25 seconds will never get over and it's funny how 25 seconds can take so long when you get closer to the Target instead of getting higher so because if you go like this obviously you know slows down well now we getting actually very close so there's those little [ __ ] little robots the sparking wires of the machine generate a signal tapping out the broadcast into the void whoever left the message's long gun it was ourselves I think that's the whole thing it was ourselves really uh hidden truth how are you Star Citizen does seemless atmospheric stuff too doesn't it I have no idea I kind of was very excited for Star Citizen in the beginning but then it reached that level of complexity with the ships and everything where I was like yeah that's me don't I'm out like once it gets to a certain level of realism it's like no I mean anything where you literally can buy ships with cash and have them completely destroyed probably still safe to a blueprint or something I'm not sure I I I just could not play that that is no I just couldn't no way absolutely no way I mean even just something like uh space uh what is it called um Space Engineers that is way too complicated for me I I just don't that to me is like not that much fun because it just takes too much brain power I don't want to think so much when I'm playing games um I'm fine thank you hidden Truth uh um extract plants let's go o we got a base computer we can build stuff now now what we might do is we might once we get to a point we can save where where we an a station we're going to quickly switch over to our other character to visit the building part station and then we can see what's new because on my other character I already bought every single piece for Base building I think so well the major I bought nearly everything yeah so I don't think there's much left that I I haven't bought yeah except for some of the what you call them items which is just for looks you know so we could actually see then what I don't have and that should be pretty much nearly all the new stuff so that would be really good um okay so we need what do we need in one of those yolks and okay uh technology recorded catalog uh select the terrain manipulation mission in the lock direct manip oh okay let's select it okay the terrain manipulator is a multitool upgrade uh yes and let's install it technology installed yeah nice and now that I play and shrouded like a normal person and not like me trying to rush through it I'm actually having a hell lot of fun and um a lot more fun than originally I still find uh some of the restrictive fast traveling a bit of a pain in the ass especially if you explore in an area and then you realize damn it I don't have any more room to make in the Fast Travel point you know uh it's always a bit frustrating but um that's my own fault for exploring too much so what I start to do now is use my brain you know if the enemies are higher level than me go back into an area that you haven't explored closer to your base closer to the starting area you know and um oh traumatic metal right out of the gate are you kidding how much two ah that's not actually a lot okay so I think we can finish now a lot more in our base so what we're going to do is to make it look less um weird we're going to put some uh legs on it now in a minute um so let's finish this wall here and and now we're going to go with a normal wall up top here no that looks the same both ways around yeah I don't like one level things I like things High ceilings I I don't have claustrophobia but I would bloody we have all the fa I at least discovered and we can even rename them so if you want you can rename and upload but yeah I don't really do that I know people can put all sorts of things uh in there but but let's just upload it I guess how do we do that again um rename and upload so if we go here upload f f upload all and we got 175 nites and you get extra nites if you complete the whole planet so I think you can see on the Discovery for this system that we only found eight but I don't know how many are there but there could be more um Flora so we could still discover that oh there's a language um thing as well learned the vikin we word for two yeah getting the advanced laser is something we're going to have to do um install the hyper Drive technology installed okay we need five of those we need 125 chromatic metal okay so we need some ore we still have a lot of ore actually the metal plating do we not have a lot of yeah there need 125 there you go well that's running and what else do we need five hyperdrive parts what do we need to make them I don't know how to make them yet I have to learn them to learn them uh the Earth in game I don't know if there's Earth in game um because everything is randomly generated oh yeah we can make the that's right we can make the units required 95,000 we have 135 sell items at the space station trade oh we buy them okay um um how do I make that backpack refiner again uh I don't I I think that's one of the things I have to unlock is it oh it's a mo it's it's a mod isn't it I think technology installed what does that do oxygen recycler so alien substance reacts violently I make a note to avoid getting closer the device opens revealing a single unblinking brimson eye it prints out a blueprint for antimatter take blueprint and read log there's The Limited like 20 or something but I think that's more to do with uh that there are certain items you craft so you can't make like a gazillion of them but I think in general it's like I much room do we have because I think they only stuck to five or something so let's put some stuff into our ship we can put actually let's put that into our ship let's um Starship let's put that iny play around with the ship system and get to the point where we can start buying ships and I see if the ship glitch still works but we need a second ship for that that we can risk losing so the idea is that you basically can trade a ship get back into your ship before it takes off and that way you get to keep both ships and then you can uh you know take a p of Salvage the ship that you just bought you know and usually you got money for it but now I don't know if you can still sell a ship or if you can only Salvage it so that's something I have to check out so anyway I'm going to leave it here
