New Porsche 911 Turbo S vs Taycan Turbo S: DRAG RACE!

hi everyone I'm Matt what's in here from Carlos I've got a killer drag race for you Porsche versus Porsche so I'm in the PyCon Turbo S says turbo even though it's electric next to me is the 911 Turbo S it has a proper turbocharger well actually two of them and we are gonna have a drag race electric the future versus petrol now to help me out with this drug race I've got a frame with me it's yummy formula my's y'all right you only how you doing I'm Matt how are we well I'm good I'm in a really rapid car this thing's bonkers quick but I know that new 911 Turbo S is insane as well so tell me about that car Porsche Turbo S 3.8 twin-turbo flat-six 650 horsepower arm sixteen fifty kilos I think that's better I think has about 800 Newton meters have talk which is quite a lot of talk but I've got dual electric motors and they produce 1050 Newton meters of torque I've also got 761 horsepower though isn't it heavier than your car because of all the batteries they weigh a lot it's 2.3 tons it's cheaper than your car hundred thirty-nine thousand pounds yours is like one hundred and fifty four thousand pounds and where you're saying 139 that's probably starting spec I think you need to go 155 160 for a good spec on that I don't know about 180 but two amazing cars we're gonna find out which is the quickest before we race we put a little section in the comments where you can vote on there regulations mate all that answers that then and that's the thing about modern internal combustion engine cars they're being so curtailed by new regulations and they're in a way preparing us for clear-cut I didn't get the best star I think you reacted better but so we just do it again hug some giggles made you me to give you like a two-second head start and that's still absolutely obliterate I can't believe how fast this is I'm shocked Oh God better start that time sort of ah this is such a car it's mental is it that yeah you had a slight edge on me for sure but made honestly I haven't been in anything quicker than that either let me ask you this would you have one of these or one of them there's same money as a day they'd have this probably this is super rapid as well I mean there's not much in it and it's more practical and it's comfier and it's quiet and it's electric and you don't have to go to a petrol station you just charge it at home I love this and it looks better you missed that one yeah it does love the look at that icon they would have it in green I actually said that I would have it in green how funny we got the same taste finally yeah but yours would be like some kind of rose gold so then what exactly happened well both cars launched perfectly and they both hit 60 miles an hour in 2.4 seconds but then the 911 edged ahead and one crossing the line in 10.2 seconds beating the Tyco on which still did the quarter-mile in an incredible ten point three seconds fYI Tesla fanboys the best I've ever had out of a Model S is ten point four seconds but if the cars in comfort mode automatic well obviously this is automatic all the time and they count it in three two one go see honey mostly see you Danny what speed would he come past me well when he bottle out beforehand so I did 121 24 27 there you go 127 you come past me and how worried were you have a bird strike so I miss the birds but I have to wait for the kick down that's the problem it's obviously I'm not in the right gear and I'm going man you I mean also it's delayed and that's the beauty of these electric cars isn't it and from real-world driving when you just like coasting along and then you suddenly need a burst of power boom they just on it are they want to let you do is choose which gear you go in for manual mode and what speed do we do it from what do you want to do third gear what do you want do that that's really gonna play to my hands you want think about it have another go I know bar felt bad because obviously I Blitzer ate during the drag race all right let's go second give a second gear thirty miles an hour obviously I'm just in Auto come on then you in sport mode now Sport Plus I tried to be nice until they won do you want to count this one in all right you ready yeah two one go see you later alligator oh I missed the arm like this can you even catch me I've messed it up totally because I was looking at you I forgot to change gear three two one go oh that's awesome I just dropped you yeah that really works yeah I backed off before you came past me when it's in second gear you ain't got no hope no hope Bob Hope right now get a break test 70 miles an hour when we reach the cone full emergency stop you ready for this don't do you use your think of breaking early dude you totally blew let's do it again come on come on giving me giving me refresh it needs more bro me you ready not early not early hold hold hold hold now yes say I promise you when they edit this you're gonna see you know what I think you might be right cuz I was watching you very interesting points I'm taking from this :

• the 911's launch control makes it as brutal as the Taycan from a standstill.

• in a rolling race, the electric powertrain has the benefit of the immediate response, but the 911 catches up.

I love Carwow and Matt. But these drag races recently have a seriously stupid level of Youtube gameification.

At first everybody knew where to skip to the drag race

Then they added donuts and banter to delay it, then every body knew where to skip for the race

Then they added a false start in every single video to delay the part people came to watch more.

These videos went from 4 minutes a few years ago, to 6, then 8 now 10+

I blame youtube more than Carwow/Matt. If there was a way to adequately monetise what people came to see I am confident they would do it.

Still can’t believe people say that the C8 variants will beat the Nürburgring record. I can’t wait to see what Porsche does with the 992 GT models. Definitely a < 6:40 Nürburgring time.

Honestly insane how the easy the 911 made beating the Taycan look in the drag race. Then equally crazy how the Taycan had no problem stopping in the same distance despite the heavy batteries.

The taycan hits 60 in like 2.5 seconds. So holy shit the 911 is probably one of the quickest cars on earth now. Was not expecting that

Taycan has the crazy power and torque figures + instant power delivery since its all electric.

That being said, don't forget about the massive weight difference. 911 Turbo S is allmost 700kg (1500lbs) lighter, that's nuts. Surprised the Taycan did as well as it did actually.
