imagine a prime Hakeem olaju on in today's NBA he's arguably the most skilled center in NBA history because he has so many moves and counter moves it was almost impossible to garden and he was a monster on the other end one of the best two-way players in the history of the NBA it is insane that he's the only sensor in the top 10 for Steals and has the most blocks in NBA history and this season is a season that die hard and bayfairs will never forget this man won a championship finals MVP MVP defensive player of the year was on the all NBA first team and was three points off of winning the scoring title and I know this graphic says an almost perfect season but this was a perfect season my books Hakeem made Hall of Fame sitters look like fools with this dream shake and there was no debate that he was the best player in the world when Michael Jordan retired to play baseball and if you ask me how Hakeem will do in today's League I would say you'll be a perfect fit in any era he was so versatile that his hard to deny that he would dominate any generation and Kareem perfectly explained the difference between Biggs today and in the past City guy in this game makes him feel like he was over Coach as a child you get the rebound you better not try to take it down the other end of the Court as a front line player that was the Gospel when I played Giannis has blown through all that many people misconstrue Kareem's statement which I don't know how and thought he was throwing shade at Giannis but all he said was that he wished he could take the ball up and down the court when he needed to like Joel embiid and Giannis this made me wonder how effective Elite Biggs in the past would be like hakima Kareem if they had the freedom to days Elite Biggs have that would be a scary sight let's see what NBA legends and players say about how dominant a prime Hakeem was to give us a better insight into how good he would be in today's NBA and after this video comment down below and how many points you think a prime Hakeem will average in this era enjoy the video man it came a lot to him I got no chance of losing none at all the large one he was in the top 10 in five categories steals rebounds lock shots scoring and shooting percentage you know I mean to have a big guy of his size be in the top 10 inch deals now you can assume that he would be in blocks which to me shows versatility of what type of guy he really was the dream man was kind of a freak of nature I had never seen a human being that big with his footwork his quickness and his instincts he had the best ball in Stakes of any big man I'd ever seen and he also had incredible hands and you know the footwork is legendary but his instincts you know the ability to get deflections steals blocks he was a game changer in so many ways and and he really in a lot of ways redefined that position you know we talk a lot about positionless basketball in the days era the dream was one of the first that really brought that to the Forefront for the run that we had in the back-to-back years it was parallel to Michael Jordan he was the best basketball player on the planet for two years Bar None he could do everything on a basketball court handle the basketball shoot it defend pass and be part of a team I've never seen a player as raw as he was from college and then when he got into the league was as polished as he was like you know you see we're all guys and he's like okay they're gonna have a while you know they they came walking to them at the same time but that wasn't him obviously with his soccer background his basic understanding of the game so he hasn't been like manipulated you know he hasn't gotten the wrong kind of coaching he just had a distinct love for the game and as a competitor against him it was it was frightful I mean like you think you have a layup and he'd be like four feet off of you and you have a good angle and he'll still blocking he would be unbelievable in today's game because he could switch one to five and so he could guy come off the pick and you got the one oh he's moving his feet and if you throw the law he's going back to still try to contest the law I had I've never seen a player that could double in the pick and roll and get back to his man on the road and still block a shot he was the most unique athlete in terms of instinct like he just knew when to leave he knew when to stay he knew when to come I I know you're a great defensive player and that's why I kind of watch certain things that you do on the pick and roll and it's very okay imagine if you were 6 10 and your athleticism was Blake Griffin that was a king [Music] Jesus he's you on a defensive end at 6 10 with Blake Griffin it's Young athleticism that's who he is that's impressive the first time I saw Hakeem Olajuwon I was like it's not human for someone that size and that agile that ran like a deer soft on his feet to watch him fly Santa Jammer from University of Houston I was super amazed and as a young kid watching that had no idea that the dream would come true that I'd make it to the NBA now I'm playing against the great Hakeem Olajuwon Michael Jordan is he better than Biggs yes he was okay argument no you can compare he said you just said no you can't yeah Michael Jordan's gonna be better than what big what I can say about Hakeem Olajuwon is he has arguably the best footwork of any Center this game has ever seen the inside the outside Jabs beautiful balance he could face you up and drill shots beautiful back to the basket game always giving you that dream shake that dream shake it was one of the best moves from a big man that I've seen because he it was so fluid it was fluid it wasn't any kind of like no it was like bam spin jumper I mean it was like clockwork the dream Shake was he was he was a nightmare I'm glad I didn't have to guard him I'm sure that the bigs used to be like hey man get that game plan if you get cooking y'all better I remember Elders okay let him do that again and don't nobody come help if Sam can he smell beat you I ain't helping you so you you have to go help keep affected that move off the dribble off the catch it's a devastating move to his opponents they have so many commas off that one move you know he can come in with a quick spin to the Baseline he can count the dream Shake Fade Away step over there was so many countries towards to that move but uh it was amazing to watch it was amazing I plan on one-on-one he post me up they did it on everyone yeah give me a fast shot like them so you go to Houston obviously you get to play with the camera you know when we look at some of the greatest players in the NBA history it always seems like the dream's name is getting overlooked do you feel like you don't get the love that he deserves from from now that's just crazy that's unbelievable man I mean he got to be at nothing what [ __ ] to me top five centers happy to play this game man so yeah I mean so yeah man I mean I mean a quiet humble guy you know didn't say a lot wasn't in the spotlight like that you know they want all that [ __ ] you know so I think that's what like hindered him a little bit but I mean I mean totally great person when he became Muslim nah [ __ ] now I'm gonna tell you to say that before his Muslim he was nice I'm a tough to deal with but what's so tough about what's so tough about a dealer before he made the uh before he converted oh [ __ ] slap [ __ ] out yeah that's my favorite because personal reasons and the reason was he was a guy that I couldn't break you know uh all all the other great centers I was able to get into their heads a little bit and that was just my way of of trying to compete you know every every young guy that comes up you know always put it in always put it in basic karate movie format you know you got the old guy in the white beer which is me now she got the old guy in the White Bridge yeah but then you got the young guy that's coming up so in order for you to be the master you have to beat the master so me always knew this Patrick young and Hakeem and chief always knew these guys were 100 times better than me but I didn't want them to know that and then I wanted their spot so you know I want this spot so the five best scenes I'm glad you guys I have to write them down Hakeem to me is is number one so why couldn't you break him because I couldn't get into his head I mean one time I gave him a bow and he just laughed nice nice elbow brother and then he came out and gave me and Shout out yeah he gave me one of them so the next time I I came down I dunked on him and I looked at him and he's like okay good morning it just came out you shoot and he gave it to me again so he was he's my favorite Hakeem Olajuwon is he you should know how good he is when LeBron Kobe all these guys go to him for advice and on how to do his footwork you know this guy's footwork was some of the most amazing footwork you ever see but his tenacity in the gym I mean like you think he was mad during the game he was even mad at doing practice if the guys wasn't practicing hard or he felt like we weren't putting up putting forth the maximum effort and that's what you want out of guys you just want to come to practice and play hard because if you go really really hard in practice sometimes it's easier the game because in practice you don't have timeouts in the game you have timeouts you have TV timeouts but it goes to show you how great this guy was I asked Michael Jordan what one guy he ever feared it was Hakeem olajua he used to call him I'm scared of the big Africa because he's from Nigeria that's what he used to say because you know and the people out here are Chicago Bulls fans I know this question comes up a lot they always wonder those two championships we won in Houston we would have wondering if Michael Jordan would have been playing the answer to that question is yes because they couldn't stop a large one we might not be able to stop Jordan but they couldn't stop Elijah we did have a guy that could kind of slow Jordan down and Vernon Maxwell so before that question ever pops up yes we the one two championships if Jordan would have play but do you think that 94 rocket Squad taking on if MJ came back y'all would have had smoke for him hey man we used to beat them up all the time man y'all just got to go do a regular season yes man I know it's Denver during the playoffs but man [ __ ] man I just feel like man we had to be as African back there man and Bill them Bill Clinton and will produce man I I just they would have had to do a lot of that Mike wasn't going to bed and you know Mike like to do all that damn help [ __ ] cheat and all that [ __ ] and I'm gonna be cutting this damn head open too with them damn threes Mike you better stay out here buddy you can't run in there like you just do these other mothers because I'm gonna cut you up but yeah but uh man we just look at the numbers man I mean the numbers don't lie man we're just beating [ __ ] out of them boys I mean we wasn't beating them by five we've beaten them up for about 15 17 16 13. yeah it was beaten we I mean over like a what like a eight year span seven year span we was nine and one listen Hakeem was a monster he was unguardable the Bulls never went to a guy inside so you know you know throwing Cartwright out there or Weddington they wasn't gonna ever get the ball so Hakeem would have been in a very interesting situation I mean because he wasn't he didn't have to play defense on those guys he would have been trying to stop Michael um you know things like that but listen hey it doesn't really matter nobody can take the Rockets Championship away from them and it came as one of the best to ever do it and that's that's all you can say he could pick up things as easily as anybody I know uh you know I had a little jump book that I've been working on for all my career he told me one day he said Maxie I'll have that tomorrow he shoots it in the game knocks it down I'm like damn this too let's do what I tried to perfect in years he did in a week it just understood and he played so well when we think about who he was to be among the greats come on these players but I was in college I have some posters of them in my room and now just to be in their company it's over women so guys I hope you enjoyed the video and tell me again how many points do you think a prime Hakeem Olajuwon will average in today's NBA so make sure you like share subscribe and show us to the YG gang and I'm out
