Natalie Miller - Vice President of Northeast Markets

foreign ER and I am the VP of operations of our Northeast region which right now consists of New York City I've been working for caremax let's see it is almost may now for two whole years so I actually was the first hire when we decided to expand into New York full merger between caremax and IMC hadn't been completed yet but the plan the plan was in place and New York was the first New Market that folks were like here here's where we're going and so I was boots on the ground our locations in New York are my babies they are my children it's been amazing I started off you know looking at maps and going around with real estate brokers and trying to figure out where the best place to put care Max was and now it's more about making sure that patients are happy and we have the right staff in place and what new Services can we bring to our patients and how can we always be improving to to grow and and make sure that our patients are getting the best care the day-to-day is really different every day everyone asks me which which location is my office well they're all my office they're you know all and none at the same time so I go around wherever is needed I like to try to go to each location at least once every two weeks when there's something on fire or something more exciting happening I do go more often and so when we get a new provider when we have a big EMR trans transition things like that I try to be on site more and Hands-On helping with whatever we need to do also when we have a new location it's all about preparing for opening so it's the location we're at right now is going to be opening June 2nd so I've been here a bunch just helping coordinate with the construction crew and making sure that we're all ready to go and have have everything we need for our grand opening and then to see our first patients absolutely I think Health Care really comes naturally to me my whole family is in healthcare you know whether it's not nurses doctors dentists and I always had that feeling that I wanted to help people in that way but the idea of blood and scalpels really really gave me the heebie-jeebies so instead I realized you know I was more of a process and logic and mathematical thinker that there's still a big need for all of that in healthcare because even if you're not doing the diagnosing everything has to run well every you know every patient needs to go from point A to point B to make sure they have everything they need and get the care that they that they need and deserve so that's that's Healthcare overall and seniors I mean I I grew up very close to my grandparents may they rest in peace and I was one of the you know me and my parents were always helping take care of my grandparents so they it's just when I see some of our patients and they grab my hand like a little a little part of my heart aches because it's like um you know my grandma or my grandpa who used to hold my hand and you know walk around with me people it's the patients and the team members so when I do see those patients who who really are like wow this was an amazing experience this this was you know game changing for me I I now love coming to my provider I'm really going to work on taking better care of myself because care Max gives me the motivation to that's the sweetest part but also working with our staff and seeing them grow right we went from we we do have some employees who have been here probably a year year and a half now and seeing where we started just like me we kind of were Bare Bones back about a year ago and now seeing everything grow and watching them take on more and more responsibility and really develop has been really rewarding and I'm so proud of all of them been an honor to be part of caremax to to help bring this kind of care model into New York where no one knows what hit them everyone's so surprised they can't believe that when you walk into a caremax they're like people offered me coffee and tea and they had a TV and they had activities and it's a real game changer up here and I can't wait for more people to see it
