but mike i think you're right i think gilliam hit that entire wheel see what happens here yeah you see the you see the center of the tire the wheel is gone well the only way we're gonna find out we're gonna have to go over to the infield and dig it out of that that camper tent that it went over into man look at the guys and it didn't bounce off the hood of gilliland's car back at watkins international we are under a red flag condition as of right now 15 laps to go 75 in the books a big incident in turn one involving three key players and just a moment ago here's what's happened a fan somehow gets out of the uh infield area comes out on the track and is trying to get matt kenzos autograph oh do you think alcohol he had anything at all to do with that oh my god kansas is going you're not gonna believe what just happened here guys he gets jumps over to guardrail runs back up and then gets apprehended here yeah her barriers and we've been talking about the race car drivers having trouble with this track how about the pace car driver so we are going to assume this is brett beaudine just because it's fun and that's normally a baseball driver yeah i hadn't seen that very often this saturday nascar on fox from pocono coming right back and now matt de benedetto and uh jeb burton oh gosh got turned around by a track truck holy smoly i guess when you're trying to get into your pit the sweeper's a weeper now we've saw matt kenseth once spin into his pit and get serviced that way and yeah all it says is you have to be in your in your pit box it doesn't say which direction that's true field coming to get the green flag and the green flags in the air and they put the caution back out because they still had safety vehicles on the track and turns one and what in the two why what were they thinking they got about three trucks still out on the racetrack and somebody hasn't some guys haven't seen it yet they wave the green with safety vehicles you see them there still on the track on the apron between turns one and two and in a situation like that i have seen some huge crashes because of that and every now he's what in the world is going on they kept saying they're going through the green flag and then we saw we saw these trucks on the brake checker like it's gonna get exciting [Music] thank goodness everyone slowed down backed off whatever it took to avoid collisions [Music] so we're back under caution never really went green although a lot of guys tried because that's what the flag was let's get an update from dave the in the unusual category bill i'm just checking the other end of pit road uh the lights are on again on the turn 4 side of pit road they were off at the beginning of that sequence jeff gordon was one of the cars that pitted under that first caution they want to make sure that he didn't flat spot the tires remember he was way back in the line and he rode through some debris one just make sure everything was okay on those tires so they changed four and topped him off with fuel in the dark allen carl edwards has been on pit road he got a piece of that first track some damage to the nose of the car they have worked over the front fenders a little bit they are also very careful to check the grill opening to make sure there's air to get to the radiator and keep that machine cool he is all the way near the back of the line alan i'll tell you the front end on that 99 car looks awfully good i don't see any damage at all yeah they did a little cosmetic work to fix it up bp they got away pretty luckily now here's the restart a moment ago there's the field coming up to speed and then you see the yellow flag come out right away but the caution lights never went to green i was going to say i saw a red and i looked like a red and yellow light right to the left of the flag stand that was still blinking i'll tell you what that safety word that safety truck back in the back sitting there he thought something did gone by about 180 miles an hour wouldn't he when he looked in his mirror he was in for a big surprise it's got a flat right front tire and the hoods off this car it's obviously had some sort of issue hood not often this is he's missing the bus stop oh my goodness that thing just exploded the whole nose of it that's two cars it's [Music] all of a sudden just started raining really quickly in turn one bunch of the leaders have trouble bunch of the guys up front kyle busch leading the race first one to the corner in the rain you see the damage heavy damage to the 18 car the 19 of 2x another joe gibbs toyota i think hamlin has some damage too oh how this started why this started but look it lacked a grip everybody in the corner way up the track more cars back here with contact kyle busch just drives in the corner expecting to have grip and it's just not there tracks wet big damage i've drove cars for two decades and i'm shocked at the lack of grip that you know i know that it's raining pretty hard out there we're in a we're in a booth and we don't really know exactly how much participation is coming down but this is not the winner i've never been wrecked by a record natalie decker china they're trying to push natalie decker off the track after being involved in an incident and then [Music] i think she wanted to turn on the pit road and the record driver didn't realize that and she was trying to hit the brakes and he was on the gas he was on the gas will change four goodyear tires they will fill it full of sunoco fuel the long drive down and now a little less chaotic as they will get to the car without incident and get jason in and get justin back out he is over the line so he's going to have to cruise back just a little bit so another mistake on pit road today marty william byron gives up the second position to come down pit road so with this snoko fuel and these four goodyear tires they can make it to the end of the race here giving all that up with a mistake you see the right front tire is loose it's probably gonna come off the race car which is gonna be a penalty it's just gone completely bad for the seven this is the danger of being aggressive on green flag pit stops if something goes bad it can be catastrophic dave and jeff it's almost like he can't hear them because he even left pit road when the situation was happening the crew was definitely not done got into alex kennedy both set to make their sprint cup debut today and here's a replay of what happened that's just guys not paying attention that's all that is 19 the white machine of alex kennedy and paulie haraca apparently not watching what's going on in front of him just drilled him sitting on pit road and the hood is up once again on denny hamlin's car riding around the racetrack for gordon they have a brake line leak he has now gone down the lap will go down multiple laps as they find a new line to repair the 24 car second year in a row they've had a fast car at watkins glen but had issues with mechanical things and we're hearing now from the 11 team of denny hamlin that he hit the 38 car on that restart that's what's caused that hood to fly up i mean we saw that back in indy that was due to those front clips not being properly affixed this time it sounds like it was contact with the 38. like blake cook and and maybe joe nemechek saying he came out or not but these are guys that are trying to make the race oh we got trouble i think it's raining it's raining over there it is raining on the back straight away from the racetrack mike bliss one of those that broke free you see the 97 of joe nemechek and heavy damage that's benny gordon the 91 yeah gordon at 91 machine you see the car get away from him again there's no tread on these tires folks so when you hit something slick a hydroplanes i mean it's just like being on ice saw eric mcclure in the 14 car nowhere to go the oil gets hot obviously the water temperature goes up so they try to a lot of teams separate the oil cooler from the radiator put on a separate uh separate cooling system what i just saw right there jeff gordon the 24 being pushed by carl edwards in the 99 it's like they were trying to time as we just had the lights go out back straight away yeah the back stretch and turn two wow fall to darkness the track however is still green but get guess what now we're understanding jordan and carl edwards have not slowed down [Music] from turn three all the way around to the entrance to turn one is still fully bathed in light but turn two looks to be on emergency power and the back stretch is all but dark especially going into turn number three look at the difference uh now they're on low power on the back much as was used at nighttime during the 24 hour range 24 hour lighting system watch it so boom boom out go the lights but carl carl and then jeff gordon they never slow down they just keep digging well what we did a short track race once daryl it was riverside park speedway a little quarter mile in massachusetts and somebody i know that somebody but somebody took a took a chair and threw it into the breakers and turned off all the lights in the middle of the 50 lap feature wow everybody stopped when the lights came on again all the cars were fine everybody everything was fine well so it was just about that eerie race car drivers do what they do might be some truth that you could do this with your eyes closed well i was going to say it now 203 do you know do you care if the lights are on no you just heard dale jr say it was boring not anymore
