[Music] all right so the first effect that we're gonna apply to this video is a custom LUT provided by Cameron Brown if you guys have not checked out his luck pack this custom LUT pack I suggest you guys do so which is the pack that I'm going to be showing guys in this video here link is gonna be in the description along with the other effects and stuff that you guys will need if you guys need any anyways I want to apply a custom lock which pretty much color grades your video for you in an instant and makes it look a lot a lot better for music videos so what you want to do is you want to go into we're gonna go into the effects browser now if you guys don't have this in I guess pre-installed into Final Cut Pro 10 because if your guys are running the latest version of Final Cut Pro 10 point 4 or above then this should work and you should have the custom let plug-in so since I'm running Final Cut Pro 10 version 10 point 4 and above then this should work if you're running an older version you're gonna have to use something called motion V effects or something that allows you to install lots for you since this feature already comes with Final Cut Pro 10 all you have to do is go to the effects go to color and then go down and select custom LUT you will not have this if you are not on the latest version of Final Cut Pro 10 10.4 or above so drag this directly on top of your clip then go into the inspector window go to let and then go to choose custom let here go to where you saved it I'm gonna go to my desktop I'm going to select the folder here that I've downloaded I'm gonna select all of them and I'm out click open from here you can go back to him where it says none and select whatever let that you guys want in this case I stick with the eff 8700 standard or the m31 rec 709 which makes it look a lot a lot cooler as you can see so you can do like something like this and you can decrease the strength by going to the mix and just decreasing that or you can do the m31 rec 709 which is my personal favorite I can't really describe it kind of gives you that orange and teal look a lot of people might not like this effect but I personally like it and it looks a lot more like a music video if you guys want to kind of give it that vibe so that's the color great effect all right so the second effect that I have for you guys is the flickering blinds effect and it looks really cool it's kind of like an x-ray slash inverted effect this just makes it really cool whenever there's a kick going on in your song so what you want to do is you want to select your video here drag it into the timeline and then from here which one it is you want to select a part where you want it to start I'm just gonna literally go anywhere I don't really care pretending there's a kick right here I want to go with the beat so I'm gonna click this and maybe select so that there's ten frames ten individual frames so you can see that these are individual frames so you want to make sure that there's ten of them it doesn't really matter if it's 10 20 100 just go with the just go with the beat if you have a song so in this case I don't have a song so I'm just gonna make it up as I go so I'm gonna do something like this that looks about like 10 ok so select the first frame and then what you want to do is you want to go to the effects go to looks go to x-ray and drag that directly on to the first frame then from here you want to go into the inspector window go into the color color board from this point we want to do is want to go into the exposure move your time time head so that you're at the beginning so you can see where you're doing and then we're gonna change the shadows here and bring it down so it makes it darker and the shadows makes it more black and the mid tones we can increase that or decrease it I'm going to decrease it and increase the highlights to make them a little brighter so now we can see that this pretty much inverts the video so what we want to do is we want to select the first frame which is already selected press command-c to copy then select every other frame which is this one and hold down command as you click every other frame just like so once you've selected it every other frame go to the top go to edit and paste attributes or the shortcut is shift command V this will allow you to paste all the effects that you applied on the first frame to every other frame that you've selected in the timeline so this can literally speed up your time flow by a hundred percent I promise you guys so click paste and then now if I go back there you go you got the same really cool glitchy effect so there we go if I go back you can see that we have a really cool inverted effect that you guys can do to make your videos look a lot more interesting all right so to do this effect which is the repeating frame effect it's really easy first thing you want to do is you want to drag the video into the timeline I'm going to be working with this one here and then switch to the blade tool by pressing B and make your first cut I'm gonna I don't know i'm gonna click around here where he's about to shoot and I'm gonna push play and right I don't know something like right there's it's fine a couple of frames maybe 30 frames would be perfect that what we want to do is we want to select the first frame we're gonna press command-c and we're gonna go to the end press command V to paste it then we're gonna click and drag that clip right above it again and then press command C again to copy this top frame and then move that time head again to the beginning a press command V command V again so now you have four total videos okay what you want to do you want to select the first frame here go into the inspector window go into the scale and scale this all the way down and there's gonna be our first frame that we want to do the second frame and move the scale down again so some one like this and then do the third frame which is going to look something like this and then our final background shot is pretty much this one here as you can see so and then once you've done that you can you know adjust these accordingly to how you want I'm gonna do something like this I'm gonna select the second clip here and kind of move it so that they're a roughly equal thickness okay so I'm gonna move this around here or some like this perfect so once you've done this you want to select all of the frames or all of the clips right click click new compounds clip to group all of them together and doesn't name this clip and then from here what you want to do is you want to go into the generators tab by clicking on this one here titles and generators if you have an older version of Final Cut Pro 10 it's gonna be somewhere else but just go to the generators go to custom and drag this beneath the clip or the groups layer and then trim the end and then from here what you want to do is you want to select the first clip here and then scale this all the way down so it's something around like this then you want to select the custom clip go to color click the down arrow and select the color of your choice I'm just gonna do something like a pinkish kind of like a pastel color and then from here what you want to do is you want to select the clip again move the time head to the go to the scale again and they transform and click this little plus icon to add your first keyframe move the time EDD to the end so it's like that and then move one frame to the left but pressing the left arrow key and then here in the scale all you want to do is you want to click and drag to the right until we fit this smallest frame on the biggest frame here so we're gonna click and drag and we're still dragging still dragging and then we're gonna let go once this fits within this frame so now if we go back and we push play it's gonna look something like this if we go ahead and render this out it's gonna look something like this which looks super cool and now of course this will look a lot better if it was an actual music video and this was transitioned a little better but that's pretty much the main effect that they used in a little zann's music video which is really cool and really unique and something kind of different all right so the next effect coming at number four is gonna be the sky replacement effect which looks super cool and it'll mix your video look a lot cooler so first thing you need is a video of some clouds whether it's dark I personally like darker clouds with thunder this one doesn't have thunder but if you have thunder that makes it look ten times cooler but if you have some clouds I would look cool too and then you want your video here in this case I have some just downtown footage here I'll links gonna be in the description to the Creator so shout out to him super amazing content by the way anyways I just used this really small small snippet of the video just to show you what this would look like with a sky replacement effect and you can see here that we have very good contrast so what I mean contrast it means we have very bright skies and very dark tones in the in the city which is what you want in this case to make your editing a lot easier and more simpler all I got to do is just drag the clouds beneath the video here and then all you gonna do is go to the effects go to King go to luma keyer and drag the luma keyer directly on top of the actual footage in this case it's the city of down downtown Los Angeles I'm gonna click that we want to invert that so we're gonna click on the drone footage here we're going to have the luma keyer right there we're gonna click on invert and this will invert the luma keyer so that the clouds effect the brighter parts the video which is this one here so now we're gonna drag the shadows directly to the brights so we're gonna drag the shadows to the right here so that it focuses on the brighter side and then we're gonna drag this one here from the highlights to the shadows so we can pretty much fill in those areas as you can see so we're gonna move it something like that and then from this point all I gotta do is adjust the color in the cloud so we're gonna select the cloud so we're going to the color correction here we're going to the exposure and we're going to increase or decrease the shadows to make it look darker and if there's a very harsh edge all you gotta do is go back to the drone footage where you applied the little bit here I'm going to go into the matte tools and you can do fill holes if you want so you know there's like stuff like this like on the edges it's very rough you can go and fill those holes so that's so it makes a little a lot more cleaner I suppose but that is pretty much the sky replacement and it looks super cool and it kind of gives your music video a cool different vibe the first thing you want of course is a video what I want to do is I want to go into the effects go into masks and go to draw mask and drag that directly on top of the clip now it's going to say click to add a control point so we can make our selection of the backpack quickly make a selection of his backpack here but I'm just gonna do something like this so now we made a selection we're gonna leave it just like that click on option on our keyboard click and drag once you've done that you want to click the bottom clip and you want to go on to the draw mask just delete that and then I'm gonna go into transform and I go to scale and I click this plus icon to add our first keyframe I'm gonna go where new zoom in by pressing command + I'm gonna move the keyframe two frames over and I'm gonna zoom this up so I'm like that I want to make it drastic here okay and I'm going to move the position back like that and then I'm going to go two frames to the right and then I'm gonna move this back to 100% and I'm gonna move this back to zero so now it's gonna go back in place so now if I go back and I push play it looks just like that which looks super cool right this simple thing can make your music video look ten times better trust me and I hope you guys found this video helpful for your next music video project or whatever project you're going to be working and be sure to leave a like for this video and if you guys want more music video tutorials just like this one leave a like and turn on the bail
