I hate it when people post these huge kits then never mention how much it weighs or how far they have carried it.

I love this dude. I always thought I was pretty good at making fire. I wasn't bad at it. In wet weather though? I was absolutely clueless, and this dude totally opened my eyes on how much work goes into wet weather fire making. I've learned so much from him. Plus he makes me laugh. "Look at dem leaves. DEM LEAVES! call of duty hit marker"

Does anybody here know if any good secluded spots to wild camp in the UK? I've been looking online but am having trouble finding suitable spots, any assistance would be greatly appreciated

sup bros a very long overdue video for you here we'll take a look at the gear I carry with me when I venture out into the wild I'm going to throw in three different categories of gear one being my pocket survival kit the second be in my day pack or minimal survival kit and the third being the extended travel kit or I guess what you could call the survival kit or bug out bag whatever you want to call it so make a cup of tea feathers I'm gonna waffle on for quite a bit to give you an insight into the how and why of my gear now on to the day pack or what you could call the minimal survival kit these articles of gear are what I consider to be the essentials for the type of craft that I do out in the woodland so let's talk about the knife first it's a Becker bk7 and the reason I chose this knife in particular is one I need to compensate for having a small dick and number two is that the majority of my knife work involves battening wood or Baton shopping trees so I need a thick durable no-frills knife that can handle the frequency of regular strenuous use it's a pretty beasty blade it goes through a hardwood logs like butter so yeah my fire steel or fir ocm rod of choice is the Bear Grylls fire still as you can see it's been pretty chewed up over the years but it's never failed on me in the watertight compartment at the base of the fire so I just have a little bit of cotton war was tinder and a button compass I always forget it's there but it's really handy to have some emergency tinder and a spare compass good fire still though I would personally recommend it well so inside the sheath pocket is a Smith's pocket sharpener it's a pretty nifty little gadget for infield sharpening it won't give you that razor edge of your dreams but it will make your knife sharp enough to make feather sticks and stuff of that nature a diamond rod a carbine sharpener a ceramic sharpen are pretty good in my opinion makes it sharp enough for smashing into wood GG well played there's not much to say about the canteen it's very no-frills it's just an ordinary 5 pound stainless steel water bottle from the range it does include a matching cup that I seem to have left at home on this particular day so I'll add a clip a bit later the funny thing is though is you would think this cup in this canteen came as a matching set the stainless steel cup is actually a toothbrush holder that I bought from Asda which just so happened to be the absolute perfect fit for my canteen a stroke of luck right there pushed out of the frame is my charcoal often I use charcoal often char wood a lot in my fire making business and consider it to be one of the best renewable tinder sources out there I love that now right here is an eco straw which is just a fancy name for an ordinary stainless steel drinking straw the reason I pack this is because I'm an impatient little sod I don't like having to wait around for my canteen cut to cool down I also don't like burning my lips on the hot rim that's what she said so I use this straw to drink whatever liquid I've just boiled without having to wait for it to cool down for ordinary inconspicuous tent pegs but I use this as a canteen holder for boiling things over the fire sticking them into the ground in a square pattern makes a pretty nifty little stove if you will and I combined this with a 15 by 15 centimeter piece of wire mesh and this accent only is a grill for cooking but a safer more stable way to place my cookware over the fire you'll often see me walking along with a long sheaf dangling from the straps of my pack this is what I used to collect and carry gather Abul materials in here right now we've got some birch polypore which is an edible fungi some spruce needles a cramp ball which is a tinder for fire starting some pine needles more crab balls and right down at the bottom we have some birch bark I carry it in its own case because I hate rubber gym through my bag and putting my fingers for a load of crumbs and dirt and moldy so yeah I also carry a small emergency shelter which I can't set up right now because I'm using the top as a platform to rest my gear on but it's just a simple paracord hammock wrapped in the tarp quick and easy like my sexual performance oh and I almost forgot I carry a cotton bandana to use as my primary method of filtering the dirt and debris out of water it serves as a washcloth and can be made into char cloth if the need arises so having versatility in mind is the name of my game and the pocket kit we spoke about earlier is also included in the day pack like I said there's a lot of crossover between the free sections of gear that I'll cover today but before we cover that let's quickly go over the larger shelter system that I use the tent of which is called the solo 10 the base layer of my insulation is a four-season sleeping bag on top of which is a 5 millimeter thick blanket with a foil reflective foam pad on top of that when it's all folded up and I'm cocooned snugly inside of it I'll tell you bros snug is a goddamned bug I often sleep pretty much naked inside this shelter setup because it's so warm I'm a bit of a shelter bug I like to pack an excess of shelter because I don't know about you but having a good night's sleep and being well rested makes the choice of survival so much easier I don't know if you've ever had to spend an hour collective firewood well you had is 2 hours of shitty sleep well it's soul destroying work and sucks a fat dick cosy as hell bros worth the way in bulk all of this shelter gear fits inside the respective compression sacks but stuffing it all into the compression sacks is a real hassle so what I'll often do is because I'm a lazy guy I like to roll up the entire thing the rainfly had to turn the sleeping bag the blanket the foil mat roll that all up into one big bundle and compress it between the space between my back and my backpack easy to unpack easy to set up easy to pack simple now on to the pocket kit let's have a gander on the front lines of my pocket gear I carry a pencil sharpener which is a tool I use very frequently I use it to collect big bundles of fine wood shavings from the inside of twigs it's one of those little things that makes fire making wet weather much easier a silver compass which has never let me down I've been through quite a few compasses in my time but silver really do make the best in my opinion small bundle of paracord and while it might not be enough on its own to make a primitive shelter but if you utilize the inner strands of the paracord then you have more than enough for shelter building snare traps fishing line just enough to get you by a small waterproof bag full of storm proof matches and ordinary matches with their respective strikers I don't often use matches to make fires but it's good to have that insurance policy sometimes light and with fire stills is such a tedious task that occasionally makes you want to punch a tree right in the face right here is 30 metres of fishing line fishing line is pretty underrated and often never sees the light of day in survival kits but it's strong enough for shelter building and simple snares it's very valuable to have in my opinion I carry a small med kit too because it's better to be safe than sorry right I just carry the basics some paracetamol some antibiotics in the form of oxytetracycline nothing too fancy here very basic first-aid kit but any wounds and lacerations in the world are pretty much guaranteed to get infected unless you treat you so I do carry a few antiseptic wipes to treat any open wound so I suffer during my benches some duct tape which is primarily used as a plaster for patching upset wounds or lac serrations but it does often mean that I have to rip off the scab when I get home but hey that's fine at least I could do it in a sanitary environment but I chose duct tape over ordinary band-aids because of the versatility that duct tape provides by making material cordage shelter repair good stuff tin foil if you've watched my survival tip videos and you'll know all about the versatility of a little tin foil so I won't bore my die-hard subscribers by going into detail about them again but just a quick recap for those of you that don't know it's an emergency container cookware cleaner waterproof platform for a fire makes your water boil quicker if placed over your canteen very handy a firesteel it's not my primary fire steel but it's just an emergency backup it froze a good load of sparks there's not much to say about that water purification tablets you may be thinking why carry water purification tablets if you don't have a container well I'll get to that now I carry a plastic sandwich bag to be used as an emergency water bladder in conjunction with the water purification tablets very useful piece of gear considering how much little weight in space it takes up gotta have them backups yo especially when it comes to something as important as a water container I personally recommend carrying three methods of making fire and so do many other survivalists and I practice what I preach so to go along with the matches and vise do I carry an ordinary cigarette lighter an emergency signal whistle pretty loud and she came in quite handy very recently when I lost my buddy in the woods as she do now this is the blade I've broken off of a multi-tool and while it can't do much it's enough to cut cordage shave off birch bark will cut off cedar bark it's enough for the flying jaws of survival and finally I just have a couple fish hooks and all of this fits nice and snugly into my pocket pretty nifty stuff right now once the not so essential pieces of gear if I do have forewarning of a scenario whereby all would be subject to living in the wilderness for an indefinite amount of time the proverbial hitting the fan then I'll add a few more gadgets to my kit moreso aimed is sustainable living let's start off with a big box of goodies just a little more paracord a spare compass just for having that second point of reference as if you are disorientated and panicking while you're lost sometimes you can't trust just one compass reading you start to think Oh what if it's wrong what if it's broken so having that secondary compass gives you a peace of mind a pocket fishing kit which originally came from a BC beep pocket fishing kit but I trim the fat whoops line law simple now this is a full-sized rat trap for laying outside of people's tents in the morning if they piss you off the night before now how did a small length of paracord to it so I could tie the trap to a tree more storm proof matches and the respective striker an itty-bitty fire still making use of the fire steel that I broke during the Bear Grylls fights through torture tests nothing goes to waste out here and a tiny striker which is just a broken-off piece of a hacksaw blade more paracord in tactical scary black another sandwich bag to be used as an emergency canteen this bag right here can safely hold two litres of water so I consider it to be incredibly valuable and a straw to make drinking out of a bag much easier more water purification tablets now right here we have some pre-made brass wire snares which have somehow gotten tangled up I've got down headphone wires there we go simple effective a little bundle of snare wire that yet to be made into snares but also serves as cordage and Static fishing line very handy pieces of equipment and finally another full-size rat trap just in case two people piss you off during a camping trip inside this aluminium mess tin contains what I consider little luxuries what we have here is a little flashlight which is charged and operated via a crank I personally hate using battery-powered electronics out in the wild so I favor the renewable sources of energy I also have a crank powered am/fm radio which has the capability of being charged also by a solar panel sometimes having these little distractions makes you feel Rio home this is my hygiene kit more of a thing I pack on recreational camping trips but hey I don't know about you but after 30 minutes of being out in the woodland my fingernails end up being host to half the god damn forest floor can't be and we've grabbed your fingernails like that unless you like parasites and diarrhea the signal mirror tweezers for splinters nail clippers basic stuff inside this little pot I have a variety of morale boosters a bag of sugar a bag of coffee another bag of coffee another bag of sugar and a bag of salt the sugar and the salt also serves as an all rehydration therapy kit to replace electrolytes to a loss during periods of dehydration little life savers right there I carry about 1022 air-rifle pellets I don't have the rifle with me today because I couldn't be bothered to lug that around some people don't like pointed pellets I personally do not a fan of hollow points but that's not relevant inside this big old sock we have my three days worth of emergency food which comes in the form of good old peanut bar one of these jars contains 2300 calories which is the daily recommended intake for an average male pretty much a day's worth of food in such a small jar lots of protein lots of fat good stuff combine that with whatever you can forage and it's DG well played mother nature and this is what everything looks like when they're in their neat little containers doesn't really seem like much does it considering I don't really need half of it the pocket kit in the day kit are more than enough for me so that's the gear I use in the description I'll add a list of all the gear that I used the brand the retailer from which I purchased it from if you feel like I've missed anything cow or have any questions then let me know and I'll hit you up with a reply peace out fellas thanks for watching
