a Bard County woman is in critical condition after Coco police say her daughter ran her over with her car we received a call that nobody ever wants to receive when they're traveling my mother had been run over by my sister my sister killed my mom I am one of those awful Florida stories that you hear I was able to make it home surprisingly from Singapore and I had 3 days with my mom before she passed away I've spent the last six months trying to find a way through this a sister number three is in jail she was arrested she is facing charges for murder and we were just informed a couple of days ago it looks like her trial might be sometime this summer I am suffered a lot since October that I'm dealing with PTSD and anxiety and than good goodness I took anxiety medicine before I talked to you guys today I don't don't think I could have done this if you know someone that has a child that's drug dependent or has a child that's mentally ill give them a break they're doing the best they can what a lot of people don't know is that a lot of these kids that are drug addicted started out being mentally ill they started out by getting lost in a system that was never set up to help them we lack so many resources when these children are teenagers before it becomes something like what happened to my mother and what happened to my sister and what is now happening to my entire family and if you are a parent with a situation like my moms you can't save them and unless you're willing to trade your life and let your family suffer the way mine has you need to find help too my mom is a beautiful person she loved her kids more than life itself and she proved it with her death I spent some time trying to find resources for my family and for myself reached out to our victim's Advocate uh tried some online resources but haven't had a whole lot of luck so a lot of self-help a lot of reading but I'm taking care of myself my family is making it we're slowly little by little getting through the pieces but I'm never going to be the same and anyone that goes through losing a parent you're never the same afterwards it shakes you to your core it breaks your foundation it shattered mine I do want to say something to sister number three I forgive you I forgive you for me because that's what I need to move on because I know that that's what our mother would want please don't make us suffer anymore take the deal don't go to trial I beg you to please if you have any love left for your family take the deal we're all suffering please don't make us go through this what can you do to help somebody in a situation like this pick up the phone don't text them don't send flowers save your money pick up the phone because more than anything someone's suffering the way that I have and the way that my family has just want to know somebody is there you will find in a situation like this that you really do get to know who's really there for you people don't want to deal with it they don't want to understand it and they'd much rather just not even know about it so they bury their heads in the sand and that seems to be how we as a society until recently have dealt with people with mental illness and people with drug addiction problems we need to find a solution before more families end up like mine the system is broken it doesn't work the mental health system and the justice system have failed my family more times than I can count but people have not and it is people it is people like you that can make changes you can be the biggest change in somebody's life with a smile with a small act of kindness with just picking up the phone because you don't know when someone is dealing with something like we are I'll put numbers up on the screen at the end of this video that I found that might be able to help if you're in a situation similar to mine or if you know someone that is dealing with a drug addicted or drug dependent family member or maybe you yourself are dealing with drug addiction reach out put a comment below I'll talk to you you're not alone neither am I
