My Evening Routine as a Teacher

[Music] my evening routine usually starts with me leaving school around 5:30 p.m. because I typically coach girls on the run or hero boys until 5:15 on most days once I get into my car I drink my pre-workout on the way to the gym so I can reclaim some energy because goodness knows teaching is exhausting I am currently drinking prolific from PE science mixed with some creatine thankfully the gym is right on my way home and Billy usually meets me there this is time we always spend together and it is great stress relief after a long day of school definitely one of my favorite parts of my evening routine we do a quick warm-up walking on the treadmill and use that time to catch up about our days and then I put in my headphones and blast some music so I can tune out everything around me today my gym playlist is childish gambino who is one of my favorites now if we're working out Billy and I do a push day focusing on chest shoulders and triceps a pull day focusing on back and biceps ending leg day focusing on you guessed it our legs we repeat that and then have a rest day so we are working out six days a week today is a leg day so we started with squats I did warm-up sets at 95 pounds and 135 pounds then a quick set of four at 185 pounds followed by four sets of four at 195 pounds and a set of five at 195 pounds [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] next we moved on to deadlift where I did warm-up sets at 135 pounds 185 pounds and 225 pounds then I did some singles at 275 285 and 290 pounds [Music] [Applause] [Music] the 290 pounds was actually a personal record so go meet then I finished off with about 10 Sprint's which seems like a good idea until I had done like two of them and then I instantly regretted that decision Billy and I typically leave the gym around 7 p.m. and I will run any errands on my way home today I had to go to the grocery store because Billy and I were out of town all weekend and we had no food and food is one of my favorite things I grab some food for dinners throughout the week some Greek yogurts for breakfast and some soups for lunches because I like to keep things simple after leaving the grocery store I drive the rest of the way home and then carry all my stuff inside which is typically my final exertion of energy for the night because I am exhausted by this point I put my gym bag and book bag for school by the door so I don't forget them and then put away all of the groceries [Music] if I bought anything that needs to go to my classroom I put them right into my book bag because otherwise I would be too tired in the morning to remember them then I take a seat in her coffee room which we don't drink coffee in and kick off my shoes which usually smell really bad so it's a good thing you're watching this on YouTube I spent some time on my phone answering texts I've gotten throughout the day and posting on my social media channels I also go onto my laptop and quickly catch up on any school emails that I have gotten since the end of the day just in case there's anything that I need to take care of before the next day and now it is usually 7:45 or 8 o'clock and Billy usually starts cooking during this time which I am mighty grateful for because the last thing I want to do after a long day of school is cook and he's really good at it tonight we had burgers corn salad and potato salad Billy cooked the corn out on the grill but then it started raining so he ended up cooking the burgers inside on the stove we also upped our game a little and put some bacon to add to our burgers because we fancy and our oven has been broken since April and literally just fixed last week so now we're using it for anything and everything to make up for lost time [Music] now Billy and I do eat in front of the TV partly because our couch is just really comfortable but also partly because our kitchen table is a hot mess right now after we finish eating I usually stay on the couch and get some work done which could be lesson planning working on grad school or something related to my youtube channel or business tonight I am working on a grad school assignment because I did not finish it over the weekend I am human and I do not always get everything done I typically work until about 9:45 and then I start my bedtime routine so I guess this is a routine within a routine you're welcome I packed my lunch for the next day and put it in the fridge if there's anything that needs to be kept cold then I head upstairs and plug in my Apple watch and head into the shower because I am disgusting from the gym as soon as I get out I put on my PJs so I'm nice and comfy and then take off the rest of my makeup with a makeup wipe [Music] I tell dry my hair and get the excess water out and spray it with a way leave-in conditioner spray I'm a poet and didn't know it I can make it rhyme anytime then I brush my hair and clean my ears with a cotton swab you probably don't need all of these details but you're getting them anyway then I put on a face moisturizer from ELF and that is literally all I do for skin care because I am very lazy I put on my CeraVe moisturizing cream on my legs and the SI cream on my arms to help my keratosis pilaris I brush my teeth and then I head into our spare room to blow-dry my hair but usually takes about 20 minutes because my hair is insanely long while I dry made here Billy usually packs my gym bag for the next day so I don't have to worry about it next I go into my closet and pick out my clothes for the next day because I am a zombie in the morning and don't even want to have to think about it I finally get into bed around 10:45 and I can typically hear the Hallelujah Chorus singing in my head around this time Billy and I always watch a show on Netflix before we go to bed so we can just relax and unwind currently I've convinced Billy to watch Grey's Anatomy with me and I am taking full advantage of it then I read a book to give my eyes a break from looking at screens and to help get myself tired right now I am rereading a spark of light by Jody Pico who is one of my all-time favorite authors 5 out of 5 stars highly recommend when I start to get tired which is usually a little after midnight I set my alarms for the next day put my phone on the charger and head to sleep so I can do it all again the next day that is my entire evening routine and I do
