hey everybody welcome back to my channel and hello if you are new here my name is Carolyn and today I am going to be doing a video I'm so excited about the other day two days ago I asked you guys on my Instagram which will be linked down below to give me some of your video suggestions because I really want to do what you guys want to see I want to make the videos that you are interested in and all of your ideas were incredible and if you have any ideas and you didn't see that then definitely comment them down below this video I have dedicated this journal so I have dedicated this journal to be my booktube journal and I have started a list of video ideas that I want to do I have been feeling super creative with this channel lately so that's so exciting and yeah so just thank you guys so much for for watching and for being here and I'm so excited for all the videos that are going to be coming up today's video is going to be about all of my classics collections so all of the different collections that I have I'm going to show you every single book I have in all the collections like all of the books that I own in the pen McMillan's the collectors library and the my Barr's dental book classics my vintage read spines my older penguins my newer penguins my penguin English library books and my penguin cloth bones I'm going to make this I think you yearly just so that you guys can see in one video how my collection is growing because you guys know that I really love collecting books as an aspiring book designer I really see books as a form of learning how different designers design books and how they create different covers and things like that so that's super-important to me and also I just I love collecting books some people collect stamps some people collect rubber ducks some people collect coins I like to collect books and I like to read books so this is just my little nerdy collection and I hope you guys enjoy so the first collection that I'm going to show you guys is my Macmillan collectors library I'm going to start with all of the ones that I have read so I have read all of these look at how beautiful they are look at those spines okay so I am this isn't in any order I'm just going to rattle them off the secret garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett songs of innocence and experience by William Blake persuasion by Jane Austen Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and through the looking-glass by Lewis Carroll Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte the little prince by Antoine de saint-exupery a Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare and my favorite play the age of innocence by Edith Wharton The Importance of Being Earnest and other plays by Oscar Wilde Importance of Being Earnest my favorite and of Green Gables by Ella Montgomery Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Hamlet by William Shakespeare my favorite tragedy and the infamous the incredible and the thick Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy now here are the macmillan collectors libraries that i have not read yet first we have heidi by johannes piratey the best of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy which I am hoping to read very soon The Hunchback of nostradamus Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift the prince by niccolò machiavelli and last but not least the tempest by William Shakespeare the next collection I'm going to show you is the Barnes & Noble classics I'm starting with the ones that I have read again first is Candide by Voltaire then we have a Christmas carol the chimes and the cricket on the hearth by Charles Dickens I have only read a Christmas carol so this is like half read the wonderful Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and a book that I'm currently reading on audiobook is wives and daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell the next four books in this collection have not read yet first we have Ethan from and selected stories by Edith Wharton lay misery by Victor Hugo Middlemarch by George Eliot and Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen the next collection that I want to show you guys is my vintage read spines the two that I have read I have four I have read two and I have not read two the first two that I have read are tequila Mockingbird by Harper Lee one of my favorite books ever and a farewell to arms by Ernest Hemingway another favorite the month that I have not read first we have selected stories by John O'Hara and the French Lieutenant's woman by John Fowles I went to John's in a row this is a book that I have recently seen the adaptation with Meryl Streep and I forgot the actor's name and I really really loved it and then I realized that I had the book because I got this a while ago at my library's book store for fifty cents and it was a read spine and I've heard of the story before but anyway very excited to read this the next collection that I want to show you guys is my older Penguin Classics the ones that have either the little picture on top or the red little lines on the spines all of these I haven't read so that's exciting and kind of makes me feel bad first we have Thomas Hardy's Jude the Obscure I am so excited to read this I've heard that this is like a male version of Tess of the d'Urbervilles so I want to read tests first and then Jude will be my next read after a test of Hardy's works Martin chose a whip by Charles Dickens this is such a funny name Martin chisel wit and it's a it's a big Daddy nervous to read this but also excited Charlotte brontë's the professor Henry James the portrait of a lady then we have Henry James's the aspirin papers and the turn of the screw the next collection is my newer penguins I have one two three four five unread and to read and the first one is Arthur Miller's of Death of a Salesman and this one is partially read it is f scott Fitzgerald the Curious Case of Benjamin Button and other Jazz Age stories I have read that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button but I have not others work other stories so I'm excited to read those eventually out of the ones that I have not read yet first is the moon is down by John Steinbeck once there was a ward Mikhail Bulgakov's Master and Margarita the three Theban plays by Sophocles and lastly we have the monster that is the Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas which is absolutely mess the next collection is falling down it is my penguin English library books these are all of my unread ones which seeing this now I didn't realize that all of these were unread and now I really need to read them because I want to desperately starting with the ones that I have read very measly amount first is the incredible Howards End by Ian Forrester Peter Pan by JM Barrie far from the madding crowd by Thomas Hardy and Pride and Prejudice again by Jane Austen starting with the unread books we have a shirley by charlotte brontë this is actually a secondhand copy that I got through someone from Instagram and it was actually from a library I very kindly bought it from her yes the d'Urbervilles again by Thomas Hardy I Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens which I am so excited to hopefully read this year I'm so excited for this book I just want to read it right now oh my goodness and that is a room with a view by Ian Foster Mansfield Park by Jane Austen Stanton by Jane Austen Villette by charlotte brontë north and south by Elizabeth Gaskell and last but not least the tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte hoping to read this one this year because I have yet to read an Ann book I've read Charlotte and I've read Emily's books not yet Anne and I know so many people prefer and over the other sisters which i think is incredible because I feel like she's necessary that's not really talked about much look at that empty space I wonder which books are coming next next are the incredible cloth bounds the incredibly incredibly beautiful cross bones done with the ones that I have read Wuthering Heights by Emily brontë Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte the most beautiful incredible book again Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen can you tell I love this book and once again drum roll please but Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy now to the last two books that I am yet to read and I am hoping to read very soon first we have again Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy really hope this book I have a feeling I will I just need to read it and last but not least in this whole video wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys see it's gonna be out of frame look at all these babies so I hope you guys enjoyed this video I'm not sure what I'm gonna do an updated video of this so it might be in a year it might be in less than a year it might be more than a year we shall see what happens I hope you guys enjoyed this video and seeing all of the books I have in the different collections and this has really made me realize how addicted to books I am now everybody who makes me realize that but I'm excited I need to read one of these penguin English library books because like I feel like the the amount of read and unread was pretty steady I need to change the PE LS so we shall have to do that it's gonna be hard knocking so I hope you guys enjoyed this video and seeing
