Loic: Who is the best walking model of all time? Carla Bruni. Loic: Is it Carla Bruni? It is the one that works most intelligently with the clothes. When we filmed her I mean. She immediately told the story of a dress. She understood how to display the dress for the cameras. Loic: How does she walk? I can't show you! Loic: The way she turns on herself? Not only did she have the art of showing how were the sleeves, if it was split dresses. She had the art of showing it all in a single gesture. And on a podium, what does it last? 25 seconds? In 30 seconds she had shown everything about the dress. Loic: So she had the intelligence of the fabric? A showmanship of the clothing and the cameras which filmed. A bond at the same time. She wrote the dress almost like the designer. She was great to film! Big steps! What would I not do! Loic: Oh my my. Except that I'm 42 and it's 40! But well! If I can do it all girls can do it! Loic: Oh I'm not sure! Relax. Relax your arms. That's it. The face. You look tense. That arm is dead. Think about your arm when you walk. Before starting, think about your mouth. You have to be aware of every part of your body in order to control them. Don’t look at me! Don’t stop looking at the point you’re visualizing. When you get there, don’t look at me, look at the point. If you start fast don’t slow it down right after. The arms were moving at the beginning and then you stopped. Control your whole body during the whole walk. Turn without waving your hands. When you start think about your face. It doesn’t move. It has to move? No. Don’t shake it. And when you start you raise your head and then lower it, don’t do that. It should be straight. Think of your mouth. Better than the first one! LOIC: Do you practice a lot? No it’s the first time. LOIC: First time? Congrats! Thanks! You just got scouted? Yes I arrived in Paris yesterday and today I’m at the office. Where do you come from? Israel. How did you got here, have ever walked? Elite came in Israel looking for girls. And you said “Hey!” I’m here! They told me to come see them in Paris. Start at the blue wall. LOIC: Do you already know how to walk? Not really, we’ll see. Sorry. Are you stressed? Yes, can you tell? Don’t worry. Stand up straight. Your body has to stay this way. Ok. I feel like I’m going to fall backward. You will. It makes your arms like this. You forgot your hands... I can’t do it. I swear I will succeed. LOIC: It’s actually a choreography. It’s better. Walk fast and strong. More movement in your arms. LOIC: Your arms, your arms! I feel like that’s not right. The two arms are moving! Go on. This is just my OCD. We have to see that it’s her walk. LOIC: It can take hours. Even weeks. Most of the girls who start modelling had never worn high heels shoes before. It can take hours, weeks, months. LOIC: And blisters! If they have blisters, it means they had a good season. The turn. You see this one is different, it’s the Celine turn. LOIC: Were you wearing high heels before modelling? Not at all, I started not long ago. I started wearing heels only while modeling. LOIC: What are the most difficult heels to wear, what show was this? It was for Celine. I trained but I was stressed because I wasn’t used to high heels. I thought “You have to do this” and I walked and everything went good. Walk strong, angrier! Like the Vuitton one. Do the Valentino. Try to be a bit more elegant. For the Haute Couture you will be wearing a million dollars dresses, you have to show them. I will not do big steps then. VUITTON! VERSACE! What are the different walks? Some houses have very typical walks. Like the Louis Vuitton one Very masculine, you walk like that. The Valentino one. It’s way slower and like a princess. The Chanel walk is like walking in the street. LOIC: Can you show us the Chanel? LOIC: Oh yeah there’s a bag Yes there’s a little shoulder strap bag. I noticed that you don’t have to be grumpy at Chanel. LOIC: What are the other walks? The Versace walk. It’s the cliché of the sexy woman. It’s not mandatory for the show but it’s funnier for the girls to learn like that. Like in the 90’s. LOIC: What else? The Celine. Way more rock’n’roll. LOIC: Hand in the pocket. The turn is fluid, it’s like “I came, I saw, I left.” LOIC: “Don’t bother me.” LOIC: What is the normal one? It’s for any casual casting. The one we first teach them. LOIC: What’s the tricky part here? When you turn you don’t stop for too long. I often stop for too long. It has to be fluid. At the end of the catwalk, they’re often hesitative but it’s one of the most important part. It’s where the photographers and editors are. Few of them succeed to make the right stop. The right pose, the right gaze. That’s why Evane and Vong spend a lot of time to this. It’s easier actually, it’s logical. There, and you leave. LOIC: Have been training models for a long time? I’ve been doing this at Elite for four years. It’s part of their development. And I’m not counting girls!
