hey everyone this is manly badass hero and welcome to murder house a retro ps1 style horror game created by puppet combo that pays tribute to old slasher movies and may or may not feature a killer rabbit okay kid you're next oh boy come on kid get your ass up there [Music] smile kid say cheese cheese [Music] i must have fallen asleep huh so i'm playing the kid in the opening huh mom is the ball closed just a garbage can somewhere deep down you'll find manly badasses zero soul but that's a story for another day a fast food storefront too bad it's closed let's just run down this way see if we can leave the mall just a plant now i have this on one of the more simpler filters there's a ton of filters for this game by the way so you can make this look like an actual vhs tape or really bad vhs tape or stuff like that but for the sake of your eyes i put a simple filter on so um if you played this or you've seen other videos of this you might be confused why uh might be mine looks different because i've done that hmm i think i can probably crawl under here let's see if there's even crawling a security gate circuity looks like i can crawl under it cool [Music] now you would think his parents would know [Music] that he's missing there's a bit of a bit of a time jump here and i'm a little curious what happened close kiosk it seems like everything's useless around here hmm look at by pressing c key a key i wonder when it opens get that nice resident evil ui it's locked kick out this way can't use this here [Music] so that's unlocking something else maybe one of the uh [Music] barriers now if i was here i'd be tempted to smash my way out this is what i'm assuming is the 70s of the 80s they are not using thick glass in those doors of this era [Music] this one is locked unlocked okay [Music] man all this atmosphere just makes me miss malls hmm we'll make a right wait there's something interesting over here though it's just mannequins bunch of creepy mannequins why aren't they dressed there's gonna be a way out when it doesn't involve dying that's more of a figurative way out hmm exit huh always kind of narrow missing person poster read it missing daniel gray 8 years old are you also daniel randy martinez it's locked locked also so we need one master key or two keys let's see if this door is locked not this one though anyone here bathroom sinks stall should i hide not yet does it matter which stall i hide in ooh i feel like sometimes they come for that door as i approach that's curiosity i'm gonna hide in one of these stalls this one it seems like a good hiding place i could peek out with the action bun and get a closer look of the look button when i'm finished hiding connects it with the menu i like the the shift to the first person like that that's pretty good okay so now we have the hiding mechanics it's got probably become useful pretty soon and there's a large door here locked oh okay get to the bathroom weird triple perspective thing going on here what does the bunny want me gotta hide this one again oh god he's out the door it's no escape maybe i should've taken one the farver once maybe mr bunny likes to enjoy the hunt [Music] he's not checking the stalls because he wants to savor it because i think it'd be pretty obvious i'm in one of these stalls oh god oh oh never mind definitely i am those two i figure in the clear it must have unlocked that door over there or just waiting there one of the two so yeah we're gonna have to go around the corner broken vending machine we got that um fixed camera angle blind spot thing going on like i'm kind of digging it it's a keypad i'm not even gonna solve that i'm hearing spooky music take the flashlight sure [Music] i may need to see where i'm going [Music] don't see too well over trying to kill me whoa calm down how did you get in here oh no but that fellas matter the easter bunny has gone crazy i'm not making it up he's been chasing me we have to call the police hold on present day 1987. it's like we're here ew this place i can't believe i went from the news desk to this you're lucky you have this after the incident with the poodle that could have happened to anyone all right let's get started we don't have all day [Music] where the hell is the real estate agent i gave him 50 bucks to let him shoot this story there's his car where the hell is he hey enter what's your name again emma yeah emma make yourself useful and find us a way in this is literally the worst day to start this internship i pulled attendant at track practice and i don't think i can run for very long once my stamina drains i'll have to take a break and walk it off before i could run again okay so they gave us a reason for us to like slow down and get grabbed with the killer occasionally this is probably the real estate agent's car right there emma fine [Music] the front door so i could be open or that could be a little too obvious no it's locked so you start stopping the sprint before it reaches the end of the stamina so it's not the full bar it's more like don't get too like the last quarter of it it looks like you can restart sprinting as soon as you have a little bit more energy so [Music] keep this locked tight we'll probably be coming back here open no also locked i have to go in through here basement window looks like it's open [Music] [Applause] enter i can't believe i'm breaking into a house it sure is creepy in here now we're fine andy cabinet should make a great hunting spot you you just know what's coming it's being locked must be getting porn inside kind of dark here don't know him i should be coming into this room yet we don't have a flashlight or anything a dryer it's sealed for some reason i don't think i want to look inside let's see i suppose i can get a layout of things a little bit um kind of so loops around okay let's go back around just be a little easier with flashlight but it's navigatable enough so there's a stairs here there's a fuse box an average fuse box wait i think a fuse is missing let's remember that go up the stairs the basement does have a loop around so we are chased i don't know how fast the killer is in the pinch so i don't know if we can like keep a perpetual run cycle or something just a sink i have a sinking feeling things aren't going to work out for us you've unlocked it the grossest stove i've ever seen can't open it doorknob is missing search the kitchen cabinet empty just junk nothing here that's it empty cabinet before we do that let's go back in here because we can still look around some more sitting here hey it's jerry the real estate agent looks like someone broke the lock on the basement window and gone to the house since the last time i was over here they stole the goddamn fuse so the power is out don't worry i know there's never a fuse around there's somewhere i'll have the front door open in case i don't hear you guys drive up just shout for me when you get inside old dusty mug over here here we go i can search these useless useless okay took a pencil great starts these kitchen drawers locked empty nothing inside okay so that's the back door there's two doors here i think i saw something in this one okay a hole in the floor it's just being shiny at the moment i can't reach it at least we're getting a good bearing of the place now i suspect this loops so this is the kitchen right here right as long seems like a flimsy lock but i can't get without a key okay so stairs going up nothing here immediately it's another door here that is locked no i'm supposed to help them get inside like can i go up the stairs and start doing stuff early before trigging a killer no they were smart about that there we go good work you got in did you see that goddamn real estate agent he's probably dead no the house is empty that bastard i should have given you the 50 bucks ew it's musty yes it would be chop chop it's time to hustle grab all the equipment in the van what's wrong with your face the mere mention of his name sends shivers up the spines of parents across the country like a damn potion seller his horrible murder spree leaving lives shattered and families ripped apart tonight we'll go inside his vacant home where 11 innocent children spent their final moments in agonizing pain and terror untouched since those horrible crimes eight years ago he grew up in i want you to run through the background got it all right let's do this after dana says he still haunts the home he grew up in need to run for the door action the rampage started in late march 1979 when smith walked into a local mall and took a seasonal position as an easter bunny a job meant to spread joy and cheer put him in the perfect position to abduct young children until his capture and execution in 1985. many of the bodies have not been recovered as told by the sole survivor randy martinez smith would release the children in his greenhouse and forced them to go on a deadly easter egg hunt while he stalked and murdered them two years later many say he still haunts the home he grew up in oh i'm a ghost what was that tom did you get that i apologize to the viewers or two i think it was like one in the kitchen that couldn't open i think i ever thought it was in the living room one of the two okay let's get in the kitchen oh no i accidentally entered the uh safe room well it's tempting there's a save i'm not gonna do that yet i think i got plenty of pencils but let's accomplish a little more okay try to remember honestly if i just go in front of these and just use this if it's the right one i'll it'll just automatically use it yep first aid kit tom are you still down here tom open this a magnet what can i use that for there was something in one of the cover their ears but i try and listen i put my head against the wall and holding my breath but no matter how hard i dry i can't understand what they are saying they shout and cry a lot it isn't mommy it isn't you but it sounds like adults they sound sad really sad did the easter bunny take them out too so they talked like about the easter bunny in the past tense like maybe they arrested the guy or you know shot him i don't know so usually the cliche would be if he's dead so it's either a natural ghost like a zombie like jason writing from the dead or one of the kids did survive and became the easter bunny usually the horror twist oh god i thought you're the damn easter bunny help me find an exit why is he gone damn [Music] nothing just junk all junk wait a second there's something here come down here because i don't see places to hide and we're very dead-ended oh man oh god be terrible to be strained this way bro took the rope sorry take this but i need to get out of here makeshift toilet god in this room [Laughter] let's check this room out this is where he was keeping the kids sadly oh god it's like a note read it he visited again no one saw him but we woke up and there was a big basket of eggs i was so hungry lately i forgot to take the wrapping off we all took big bites but the blonde girl when she took her bite her mouth was covered in blood she dropped the egg and inside the chocolate the easter bunny had played a trick and put sharp razor blades it was a lot of blood and she wouldn't stop screaming and the wall started to laugh at her skeleton of a toddler in his crib it looks to have died of starvation nothing to burn about rack of torture devices i like how the hallways kind of like twist as you get to the end i'm still in warning okay i'm in the basement i forgot what part of the basement last time you like attacked me from around this corner so i'm gonna be a little careful i think we're good just walking just in case there is a some kind of thing where it hears you when you're sprinting hey tom's camera it's broken oh god tom the tape is still here maybe i can find out what happened to him take the tape okay let's go get to that save point um everything's red looks like somebody's holding the door shut oh god no he's here isn't he oh no that's what it is they want to do this scripted thing um there is an evil what what i'm gonna yeah that's right use that leverage all right i'll give it a shot secret so this takes us to the room that was locked basically in the uh master bedroom there cabinet hold up nope so search it the old-fashioned way nothing there nothing useless useless princess oh god tom useless nothing nothing i'm over here nope there we go bandages search tall cabinets nope no okay all right tom i know this is you no it's the real estate agent he's something stuffed in his mouth hey free egg i forgot about that guy unlock that door unlock that so at least we can kind of circle around the bathroom [Music] but not be downstairs i gotta get to that piano pino was in this room right or it was in the actual room we were just in at the far end you know he was here [Music] yeah i'm not you put something in the piano but the cover is locked there must be no way to open it pencil so the kids gave us some numbers to always take a photo of these things so it was eight eight eight [Music] three five five three so you can't i think it's just you count the keys literally like one two three four five six seven and twelve which i think could be this one [Music] [Music] ribbon eight [Music] yeah when it hurts me unlock took the egg death hang just as full you must eat all the eggs that's four eggs like the exit you bastard now what i do is there anything i haven't checked we'll save my game that's what i'm gonna do hold up okay door's open here wait a second it's open now [Music] god this isn't up to code whatsoever [Music] oh no that's a long ladder [Music] a ladder must be able to escape climb it [Music] what a frill okay it's the greenhouse there was like a shiny in here remember [Music] then where was it cause i felt like you were gonna come back out here and like get a key or something there it is someone left the gun out here hope it still works shotgun boomstick time shotgun still ammo healing items okay i'm assuming okay so we can't move while shooting it's basically standard resident evil feel so we just gotta line you up and just [Applause] shoot tom tom i trusted you in your crazy shirt that's right it was quiet innocent tom harmless walk all over him tom mama's boy tom well i did i killed them all but why to avenge my brother anthony wasn't the easter ripper i was he turned himself in to save me i thought i could control the urge to kill but it's back and now i'm going to kill you no tom oh god woof how many bullets i got on this gun i can't see it i need to get some more distance two shots oh no i gotta heal [Music] okay i got no bullets left in this [Music] okay lock and load raw bullets get a little shotgun preferred anyways are you dead you better be dead yeah your corpse disappeared you're dead it is locked tonight no you can't kill me i'm the easter ripper the children that's my chance i better run murder house [Music] [Music] [Music] so that's it for murder house probably one of the more the fully complete puppet combo games i've played um sometimes they go for a purposely almost i would say janky feel and this one's a bit more polished it feels more like a legitimate say ps1 er kind of survival horror game with the tank controls a little smoother than the old ps1 uh style tank controls but um still tight controls nonetheless i will actually give it that what i played was probably too short i would actually like to play more because i think i only encountered the killer randomly once and everyone other ones were unscripted but maybe because i didn't backtrack enough i wasn't able to trigger the killer or maybe there was some kind of like hidden mechanic or maybe it just doesn't really spawn too much they might limit the spawning the killer to not overstay its welcome which directorily there's actually some good logic behind that but what's there is actually surprisingly a polished retro style horror game full of all the camp and kind of cheese you would expect from an ied style horror movie and the whole thing is relatively well timed of course for halloween coming up as of the at least the release date anyway we'll add one small thing i like the kids section at least see the part once you're kind of in the mix of things they should follow up with something not like murder house 2 but something of a similar kind of atmosphere or maybe you're playing like a kid or something and you're very empowered and you're trying to like survive and stuff like that because i think it's one thing if you go into like the murder house and you uh you see what the remains and the horror what happened to the kids but what happens if it was active like this was something that was currently going on and you're the kid escaping the house i think that's that would be a whole different set of atmosphere and um scariness to it but maybe that would move it kind of from campy horror to true horse maybe they didn't want to might do with that anyway so thank you all for watching play murder house i'll see
