Mr Heater Big Buddy how much gas does it use

how you doing everyone this is Kevin I'm back with another video Oh I've had a lot of questions about the buddy here here I got a mister buddy this is the bigger one and I want to know just how long the bottles of propane will how long will they last in this thing so I went out and picked up four bottles and what we're going to do is we're going to run the heater on high and see how long it lasts the two bottles then we're going to run it on low and see how it lasts with the two bottles and then I have the receipt where I paid for them we're gonna figure out what it cost per hour to run the mr. buddy heater so let's get to it okay as you can see we got our new bottles here we're gonna get them out and you got a little cap on the top we're going to screw them off pull them off of there and this one takes two bottles one on each side if you turn your heater on the side you'll see a little clip right here all you got to do is push in on this clip and then you'll see in the top you have a regulator and you can twist this thing out it doesn't have to stay in and go ahead and screw your bottle on there this has right-handed thread so you'll turn it right to tighten left to loosen so put that bottle in turn it around put our other bulb don't get them cross threaded in there just take your time and get them screw it in there nice and straight you don't have to over tighten them either now what's really cool about this one this one does have a blower on it and I put the batteries in the back turn it around here you got four D batteries in the back and when you put them in the easiest way I found to put them in is put this end in first this in like a v-shape and then push them in especially those set in the back that's the hardest part part it's hard to get them in the blower you can hear the blower running little blower I don't know exactly how long it lasts but we're going to leave the butter on too and see if we can get an idea how long the batteries last as well as two propane tanks okay we're gonna go ahead and get this thing lit up pretty easy to light it up this is your off pilot low and high or medium and then high over here so we're gonna do love first just to see how long it lasts and we're going to get our pilot lit up here push down on this twist and hold it down [Music] your pallet comes on down there hold that for a few seconds then when you let off if the pallet stays on you don't have to do it again if it don't you'll have to do this process again until it does stay on so our pilot is on now we're gonna go ahead and light this up we're gonna push down and twist see to low and there goes our and yes I am burning this in the house is it safe I don't know I'm not gonna enter that one you guys look that up for your save yourself I don't have any problem burning it in the house so we'll let that heat up I'm gonna make sure I write down the time that I started it and the time that it stops that we would get an idea how long this thing's gonna last I'm gonna turn that blood on oh my we'll just leave the boy run - that's a lot of the heat coming off this thing you can see our element down there starting to glow that thing is bone off some heat and that's just on low really hot I can feel the heat clear - here I can feel heat now three feet away from it so all right we'll get back to you and this guy shuts off and let you know just about how long it lasts on love 2 vols okay our first test is done the two bottles on low or empty the the heater turned itself off and we have 9 hours on low and our blower it's still working after 9 hours I left it on the full nine hours now this blower is not much count I mean it does blow some it does blows some out but it's not great but it does blow I could feel a little bit of heat a little bit of air coming out of there but the blower is still working so I'm gonna go ahead and change these bottles out I'm gonna put the new ones in there we're gonna turn it on high and see how long it lasts I'm thinking about four and a half hours so you'd think high low maybe half the amount of time but we did get nine hours on low we've got two new tanks in there we're gonna go ahead and try to burn this thing on high I'll let the first one light up this a little bit okay that's high so we'll go ahead and get the time in this and see how long it lasts on high now that thing is blown off some major heat to some pretty good heat on that high see both of our elements are starting to glow now all right or two tanks are empty on high I got to figure out exactly how long they lasted not very long to be honest with you now the blower is still working so the blower and the battery seem to last a very long time we know we had nine hours on the last one and I think this one might have been around three and a half hours on high but I'll figure that out and make sure I give you the correct amount of time it lasted on high but the batteries are still blowing air so I don't know if I should just I'm just gonna go ahead and turn them off it seems like the batteries have lasted a decent amount on at least 12 hours at least okay our buddy heater test is done we only did the test on low heat and high heat there is a medium - in between we're not we did not do the test on medium I wanted to give you guys the longest it would last and the shortest that would last and that would be low at high so one of low heat we got approximately nine hours so if you put two new bottles in there and you're gonna run this heater you're gonna get about nine hours of heat on low and I did go and buy I tried to get the cheapest for one-pound bottles of propane that I could get and they come in a pack all four of them together kind of break it down to see if I can get just about how much it would cost to run this thing per hour and on low heat you're gonna spend about 70 cents per hour to run this heater that's not really that good but if you need heat it's good you need to heat you need to heat now we also run the test on high now this is gonna be the least amount of time that you get out of two brand new one-pound bottles of gas propane on high I got almost three and a half hours out of two brand new bottles of propane now I tried to break that down the best that I could and I think you're gonna pay right around a dollar seventy five to two dollars per hour on high that's terrible but then again if you need to heat it be okay I mean it's definitely heat what I would suggest if you're going to burn it if you're going to run this heater is to run it on low and then when you've got the place warmed up turn it off don't let it run continuous because you're only going to get nine hours on that low mark so turn it off when you don't need it turn it on when you do need it at least it'll take the chill off now to use this thing all the time this is not a heater that you want to use every day all day long you're gonna pay a lot of money if you do that anyhow so now I don't know exactly what it would be on medium heat you probably have to it probably be right in between the dollar 70 and 70 cents per hour so it's gonna be right in the middle there somewhere and probably the time is probably gonna be about the same you go right in the middle so now the batteries in this thing they're stealing this thing I shut them off I got 12 hours on these batteries continuously using for 12 hours I'm a little switch and they're still working they're not the greatest I mean I could feel air out here about a foot and a half maybe two foot away from there you can feel a little bit of air that blower is not a big electric blower it's running off the bat but I am impressed with the length that the batteries have lacked so that was my little test on the mr. buddy heater I will leave a link in the description down below for Amazon if any of anybody's out there interested in one of these heaters I'll leave a link to Amazon for you and you can go check them out and see what they cost so I hope this video helped out some people if you're going out to buy this thing and you want an idea how long it's going to run that's what I tried to do and how much it's going to cost you to run the heater so I would like to tell everybody thanks for watching my video don't forget to subscribe leave me thumbs up thumbs down or comment if you'd like till next time
