The same battle you fight The same battle you fight
when you’re, say, for when you’re, say, for
example, your mother makes a example, your mother makes a
big jar of cookies and she big jar of cookies and she
says, "Now, don’t eat any of says, "Now, don’t eat any of
these cookies because you’re these cookies because you’re
going to spoil your dinner." going to spoil your dinner."
Did your mother ever tell Did your mother ever tell
you that? you that?
She did. She did.
Ah huh. Ah huh.
But she leaves the kitchen But she leaves the kitchen
and she goes to the store to and she goes to the store to
get a loaf of bread and in get a loaf of bread and in
this great big jar are these this great big jar are these
hot cookies and you lift the hot cookies and you lift the
lid up and you take it off lid up and you take it off
and something says "Un huh. and something says "Un huh.
Your mother said ’no.’" Your mother said ’no.’"
Now, if you love your Now, if you love your
mother you’ll put the jar mother you’ll put the jar
back on. back on.
But if you love yourself But if you love yourself
more than your mother, more than your mother,
you’ll take a cookie out. you’ll take a cookie out.
Well, that’s kind of what Well, that’s kind of what
happened in Heaven. happened in Heaven.
The Lord God said to the The Lord God said to the
Eternal Word would become Eternal Word would become
man and Lucifer and his man and Lucifer and his
angels said "No, it’s not angels said "No, it’s not
right." right."
Well, they argued back Well, they argued back
and forth. and forth.
And the good angel said, And the good angel said,
"Hey, God can do as He "Hey, God can do as He
pleases." pleases."
So your mother has a right So your mother has a right
to say to you, "You cannot to say to you, "You cannot
have these cookies." have these cookies."
And if you take one, you’re And if you take one, you’re
saying, "No, you don’t have saying, "No, you don’t have
a right to say that. a right to say that.
I want a cookie." I want a cookie."
So it’s a battle of wills-- So it’s a battle of wills--
God’s Will, the angels’ will, God’s Will, the angels’ will,
God’s Will, man’s will. God’s Will, man’s will.
Now, let’s go back to Now, let’s go back to
