hey guys it's chris from sharks with legs to a dolphin with no eyes here are 10 creepy deep sea creatures that were only recently discovered 10 the most expensive sea creature a creepy sea creature recently washed up on a british beach the shocking part is it could be worth over 50 thousand dollars it was stumbled upon by a man and his family as they vacationed in northern wales they even took a video of this strange creature wriggling and pulsing however it's not just one creature it's actually a giant mass of weird tentacled creatures that had attached themselves to a giant log at the end of the tentacles are what almost look like clams with strange slimy arms moving in and out of their white shells what the man and his family soon discovered would potentially earn them a lot of money these creatures were actually goose neck barnacles an extremely rare delicacy in countries like spain and portugal in fact gooseneck barnacles are some of the most expensive seafood that a person can buy each one goes for over 25 dollars and there were about 2 000 of them attached to the single log that washed up on the beach that equals over 50 000 however there's no information on whether this man ended up making a fortune or not as reported by the daily star so what would you do if you found a pulsating log of barnacles would you run away instantly or would you try to figure out if you could eat it sell it let me know in the comments section below and while you're down there don't forget to subscribe there are tons of awesome videos coming out all the time and i don't want you to miss even one number nine blackfish this is a terrifying new deep-sea discovery scientists recently found 16 horrifying black fish that barely reflect any light they're so black that scientists are trying to figure out how they got this coloring apparently trying to find the blackest black is a huge thing in the scientific and technology world and so the discovery of these guys is getting everyone pretty riled up scientists are comparing these super black fish to the material known as vantablack which is known to be the darkest material ever created by man in monterey bay california the research team led by marine biologist karen osborne has been trying to catalog the fish when they found that taking a picture was almost impossible because the fish were so black the fish absorbed almost all the light that their submarine emitted leaving nothing but creepy silhouettes as their photographs the fish in question are horrible to look at or fascinating of course that's just a matter of opinion the researchers believe that the fish have developed an incredibly smart way of blending in with their environment they can absorb 99.956 percent of the light that hits it making them blacker than even the blackest knights but it's pretty freaky they have terrifyingly sharp teeth and ghostly white eyes i couldn't imagine trying to pin down one of these creatures they're darker than squid ink number eight walking sharks a group of researchers has found an especially creepy species of shark these sharks aren't really terrifying they're just kind of weird rather than swimming through the ocean feasting on their prey these sharks scuttle across the bottom of the sea using what appears to be the first sign of legs according to an article from cnn experts believe that these sharks have been walking for about 9 million years this amazing evolutionary trait is placing these sharks as the most recently evolved sharks on our planet and it's a pretty incredible find as it really gives scientists a sharp look at how marine life is evolving the youngest species of the newly discovered shark is claimed to have evolved less than two million years ago by evolutionary standards that's like last night's dinner this is contradicting the popular belief that sharks evolve very slowly and in case you didn't already know sharks are actually older than dinosaurs they've been dominating the ocean for about 400 million years in comparison the oldest known dinosaur is about 240 million years old so that means that sharks are 200 million years older than any dinosaur you've ever heard of they're some of the oldest residents of planet earth but you might not know it to see this weird white and black striped walking shark with its tiny fin legs number 7 mystery sea beast a mysterious sea beast has come to the attention of scientists and it looks like something straight out of a nightmare this happened just recently in 2020 a bizarre creature that looks a lot like a dolphin but has no eyes or fins washed up on a mexican beach according to an article from the sun researchers believe that it probably came from somewhere deep in the pacific ocean nobody's been able to identify exactly what this creature is and it's freaking out scientists all over the world it washed up at des de la reitus a popular beachfront with lots of surfers down in mexico and the weirdest thing about this creature is that it looks exactly like a dolphin if a dolphin was a monster from outer space it has extremely sharp teeth but it has no fins or arms its body just continues into a weird eel-like tail however because the ocean off the coast of mexico is so deep and so widely unexplored it could be a bizarre creature that's been forced to the surface due to some unknown reason it probably doesn't have eyes because deep in the pacific ocean there's no light and the animals down there do not require eyes to live or hunt they use their sense of smell and their hearing to locate prey and this mysterious eel dolphin alien is a prime example of just how powerful and very strange evolution truly is number six deepest octopus ever in 2020 scientists have finally captured the world's deepest dwelling octopus on video and while it might sound a little creepy it's also super adorable explorers took a video of the octopus known as the dumbo octopus about 4.3 miles beneath the surface of the indian ocean this is a region of the ocean where not a single bit of sunshine is able to penetrate it's completely black down there the dumbo octopus is super small and has large fins on the top of its head that make it look like dumbo from the disney movie this is why national geographic has called it the cutest octopus in the world it's also one of the deepest living octopuses ever as it was discovered further down below the surface than any octopus has ever been discovered before the exact place where the octopus was found is known as the java trench which is very similar to the world famous mariana trench it's in the deepest part of the indian ocean and there are undoubtedly even more freaky animals living down there that science expeditions have yet to capture on video and in terms of the dumbo octopus its body must have adapted to living in the extreme pressure scientists believe that there's something incredible going on inside its cells keeping the octopus from collapsing like wet jelly if only we could capture one alive and learn its evolutionary secrets hopefully researchers can make progress on discovering more about this fantastic animal number five seacock roach it's hard to believe there is something even more disgusting than a cockroach on our planet but it's true a recent discovery down in the ocean shows a disturbing creature one that appears to be what nightmares are made of it's a seacock roach it has 14 legs and it's absolutely enormous seacock roaches have been known about for a while but in 2018 a research team found an additional species living at the bottom of the ocean scuttling around in its gross cockroach legs some people are comparing the face of this sea cockroach to that of darth vader but i kind of think it looks more like an albino cockroach that's been eating a little too much garbage the new species was discovered by researchers from singapore as they carried out a deep sea survey off the coast of western java its actual name is a little confusing and it's not actually a cockroach it may be known as a sea cockroach but it's actually a giant isopod to give you an idea of just how giant the giant isopod is it's about the size of a small dog imagine a cockroach as big as your dog running around your house i don't know about you but i'd be getting a broom and trying to shoe that gigantic disgusting insect out of here immediately although i guess it would make a great way to ward off burglars would you ever own a guard cockroach let me know in the comments section below and remember if you're enjoying this video hit subscribe if you haven't already and you'll get even more amazing video content sent to you right away when it comes out number four string jellyfish this thing's pretty wacky and barely resembles any other living creature on our planet it's known as a giant saphonophore and it's a ridiculously long ocean creature made up for many different organisms the video of it was first recorded in 2020 and it looks more like a long piece of glowing fish line than an actual creature but it is a living animal it's a luminescent string-like creature that typically resides in the deepest parts of the ocean it's like a giant ribbon of light and it was filmed off the coast of australia in new zealand the creature is actually commonly known as a long stringy stingy thingy and that name does feel pretty appropriate it's not scientific but it is descriptive according to marine biologist stephen siebert it's not actually one animal but thousands of individual animals that form a single powerful entity it's basically like thousands of different fungal organisms making up a giant fungus with one collective mind as for the size of this freaking nature it's estimated that the outer ring is around 154 feet in length and judging by the video there appear to be five or six rings in total making this the longest animal on the planet number three deep sea angler fishes anglerfishes are probably the creepiest and most disgusting fish in the sea these are the alarming and terrifying predator fish that have little lights dangling in front of their faces to lure prey directly into their savage jaws and while angler fish are nothing new there are lots of different species of them and they're all equally repulsive scientists have discovered some interesting facts about deep sea angler fish just this year according to the research anglerfish have an incredible reproductive strategy the males are much smaller than the females and the males will permanently attach themselves to their female counterparts by fusing their tissue together to establish a common circulation of blood this means that the male will become completely dependent on the female for its supply of nutrients think of it like a fetus developing in the womb of its mother with the food being eaten by the mother and the nutrients being absorbed by the baby this is an impressive parasitic phenomenon and it's possibly the sneakiest mating tactic in the entire animal kingdom this is a weird creepy version of a barnacle but also a clingy way to reproduce and of course it's the anglerfish that does it ah disgusting number two california oarfish a marine science instructor who had been snorkeling off the california coast spotted something creepy and incredible she spotted an enormous oarfish with an 18 foot long body just floating through the water she apparently needed more than 15 helpers to get the enormous sea monster out of the water and onto the shore this happened a few years ago but it's still a pretty incredible discovery oarfish are amazing animals growing to incredible lengths and looking a lot more like eels or snakes than fish oarfish typically live around 3 000 feet below the surface of the water and because of this they're almost never sighted that's what makes this such an exciting discovery even if the fish was already dead when they found it according to the woman who did find it she said she absolutely had to drag it out of the water and take photos or nobody would believe her it was so big she actually dragged it more than 70 feet by its tail before she could find helpers on the beach to drag the rest of its super heavy body onto the shore the fish was buried in the sand where it will decompose until it's nothing but a skeleton then the skeleton will be dug up and steadied oh yeah and did i forget to mention this was just a baby oarfish at 18 feet long it takes an entire group of people to hold it up but an adult oarfish can grow to be over 50 feet in length it's the longest bony fish in the entire world number one creeping giant squid a recent deep-sea mission by the national oceanic and atmospheric administration has been creeped on and attacked by a weird giant squid in a photo of the expedition's craft a giant squid can be seen in the background apparently watching their vessel like some kind of weird stalker this is the very definition of lurking it was hovering just above the deep discover vehicle however this is just a baby giant squid the deep discover vehicle is only around nine feet long but the giant squid can grow to be over 40 feet the one in the photo looks kind of tiny if it had been an adult it would undoubtedly have destroyed the vehicle with its long and powerful tentacles so it's a good thing the deep discover vehicle is unmanned so which of these creatures was your favorite what's the creepiest sea creature you've ever seen let me know in the comments below and if you haven't already don't forget to subscribe thanks for watching and i'll see you again soon for another amazing video
