Hello, my name is Nadine. That's Stix and June. And this is my little mini-camper Christoph. So, this is my camping box, which I copied from the Biba box. There are also instructions on the page. And this is my little kitchen - as you can see. It's everything you need - a small gas cooker, what to cut. And down here, for example, all my spices and cooking utensils, knives, etc. And right down here is what you need for cooking. The pot, another cutting board, a cup. Here is my breakfast cereal, beeswax towels - they are always very important. And yes, things for me to wash - including things that are environmentally friendly, of course. Here normal washing-up liquid, salt and a couple of plates. Yes, that is what you need for a kitchen in no time at all . Then I decided not to make three boxes, but one large drawer here. And somehow got all the stuff in there. I just have to admit, I'm not the tidiest. I always try to sort it out a bit. But all my cooking utensils are in here, like muesli, pasta. Then here are my ventilation grilles, which I clean at night to get enough air. They are simply hung in the window. I have to turn on the ignition. Then you close the window here, then this is hung up here. Now it's in. Tricky. Fortunately, your fingers don't get caught. Now. And then you have to do it a little with feeling. Yes. And now you can, if you come to my side here, you can see that there is still such a mosquito net here. Then you are also protected and actually have great fresh air when you have that on both sides. And that is also available for the side window. Yes, it actually started with the fact that I only had June at the time and I do Giletti with my dogs, most of them probably don't know that - that's kind of a parcour run with dogs. And there I go to tournaments. And there was the thing that I always drove 50 kilometers there, 50 kilometers back. And that's mostly a weekend. And then you just spend so much gasoline. And then I thought that somehow a car where you could just sleep in would be really great. And yes, then I wanted a Touran first and it turned out to be a Caddy - luckily. And then I started with a very basic expansion variant - with aluminum profiles that were plugged together . That was the first time I stayed in the caddy. Funnily enough, actually, in Sweden, when I was there on vacation with one of my best friends. And we thought we'd take it with us. We sleep in the tent all the time anyway. In the end , we slept one night in the tent because it was so great in the caddy. And so it all started. And then somehow and at some point it became that little dream thing back there. I've built another drawer here . Before that, I had euro boxes underneath. Actually a great thing, because they fit exactly in terms of height. But totally annoying when you wanted to get to the inner euro box. That's why I decided to put a drawer here too. As you can see , there is food in there for the dogs, because of course they both come rushing right now. Yes, and there is just so much in here. Here is the dog food as you can see. Well, mice - there's the dog food. Down. So, march off. You have to fix it somehow so that it doesn't slip out and in while driving . And it's actually not that much of a problem at the back, I solved it with magnets. So at the back of the drawer, but that's not possible here. As soon as you drive around the corner, it always slips out - no matter how many magnets you put on the back. And that's why I have chest hinges here, so they are actually made for the chest - like closures. And so it doesn't slip out while driving. Pretty easy. Yes, and here is my cool box - actually pretty basic too. At the beginning I thought about adding a panel to the front. But since they always somehow need air for cooling, I decided against it. It's very basic here, a lever that I made on it. As a result, it can not slip out while driving and that doesn't annoy me. And then you can take out the cool box as normal. And as you can see I have some snacks in here. The good thing is, you can somehow control this cool box with Bluetooth - I think that's nice. And since this year I have also had this compressor cooler. I think it's always a bit of "learning by doing". You always start out basic and say: Oh, all I need is a bed at first. And then you need a string of lights and then you need a refrigerator. And then somehow you want to be able to take a shower. And that just develops at some point - first start small, first have the bed and start thinking about it. And yes, with me it all happened one by one. There wasn't a big overall concept. Yes, these are my closets. This is one of my heart pieces here in the Caddy. Unfortunately I already have a few scratches in here from a move. But something like that just happens, is somehow part of it. Yes, they cost me a lot of nerves and a lot of time, but I love them very much. They are super functional. So here are all my clothes in there. It's always great as a storage compartment to put a beer on top of - when you have a beer in the evening or something. Yes, you can stow a lot of things here. I don't think there's anything up here. I've disguised the parts here a bit. Unfortunately, the heat has made it curl a bit. I would have to change that again. Yeah, and my heater is down here . Down here is only the pipe, so the muffler. And on the other side are my two extra batteries down here. You can take a look at it, but you definitely shouldn't take a closer look - because it's all done very unprofessionally . But it works. And here next to it, as you can see, there are my towels and now the dog things in there. I'm a civil servant, I have a completely normal job. That's why I unfortunately can't travel as much as I would like. But yes, the bottom line is that the whole thing is financed that way. Although I have to say that converting a mini-camper to a home is not that expensive. So of course, the wood costs money once. But a box like this can be built quickly and if you build it yourself, I would say 200 to 300 euros. And then you can actually easily sleep in the camper. So if you want a compressor cooling box, then of course that is all the money you have to or can invest, but don't have to. So I mainly finance it through my job, of course. I have another mirror here next to me. The whole time I was thinking how I always do that with the mirror. You always hang on to the sun visor a bit up there. And then I thought, what do you do? And there is such a 5 euro mirror at IKEA . I tinkered it here next to my cupboards. And then you can get dressed up in the morning. So I'm definitely very happy with it. But most of the time, what I actually use the part for - if I'm being completely honest - not to admire myself . But - of course, it is also multifunctional, like everything in the mini camper, I made an ipad holder here . And you can just put them in here. So, exactly. And then you screw that on below. It is of course important that you need an i-pad or, of course, a tablet. As you can see the glass cracked here. If, as is so often the case, I'm a little crooked, it's always a bit tricky, of course. Most of the time I help myself with an ice cream stick. And then you can clip this in here and then it actually holds. Now, for example, it also stops. And then you can lie in here and watch a few more series in the evening, really great. So here is my little bathroom. You already had the mirror here. And here is my little shower, it's a 12 volt shower. I can easily swap that for the cool box here. Actually , I have such a distributor when I'm on the road. It is then plugged in here. And as you can already hear, I don't know if you can hear it, the pump starts up. You can hear them moaning a bit . And then I thought about it, so you could just shower here as normal if you turned them on. It also has a good pressure, you can actually shower here without any problems . And then I always thought, well, when you wash your hair, it's always not that good. And then I thought of something really simple here. That's a part that costs 50 cents, 10 cents. Some of these can also be bought in hardware stores. This is a holder for a broom. So you can just stick a broom in here as normal. And then there are these patches where you can stick that on. And I glued it to my caddy. And now you can click this in here as normal - the outtakes - now you can click this in as normal. The best thing to do is to do this without pressing it beforehand. So now you can see that here and then you can have a great shower underneath . I installed two batteries in the back. As I already told you, I didn't do anything on the whole, but I had the battery in the back and then I built the side cabinets. And already had the box, which means I couldn't make the side cabinets wider either . That's why there is only one battery that fits in there. And then I just took two of them, which I then switched together. And it is fed by the alternator and I get electricity from it - at the moment. Soon, however , I'll get myself a portable battery box like this. It's just kind of safer. In my case, it's built in very provisionally, it works and I don't even touch it. But every electrician who looks at this, claps his hands over his head. I have now tried to make it completely dark here - to show you what one of the big gimmicks is here in my car. Namely the starry sky. When it is really dark outside, you can read properly with this light, even if you can hardly imagine . And yes, do other things. It was originally planned as a gimmick, but I just totally love it . Of course, there are still so many fancy settings here, for example you can also have an electronic party here if you want. It's actually a very simple string of lights. I bought them with these bobbels on and then took off most of them. And once briefly removed the sky, put it on a 3-millimeter hardboard, cut it out with a jigsaw. And then we sprayed the sky and then simply glued the chain of lights in from the other side at the back. So it is important that you glue them in, because otherwise they will fall out again at some point due to the movement. Yes, about the table - I used to have a completely normal fold-out table that most people have that you can take with you. Was always annoying for me with the pack size, where do I put it? Then I always have to assemble and dismantle it. And then I had the glorious idea of building a table for myself down here . You can just take it off and if the kitchen is not pulled out, you can sit by it very comfortably for two and eat delicious raspberry slices. And if you stand a bit downhill, I still have such small holes in the back here - also up here - for the drawer. And then I'll just put these chopsticks in here. I think I only have a small one with me now to show it off. So he comes in there and then this stops here. Then it cannot slide back. This is basically the one for up here. Then it just doesn't go back - it's a bit basic, there are definitely smarter solutions. But for me it was kind of the easiest. I've had some strange situations. When you're traveling alone as a woman, I have the feeling that maybe it's my personality too, but somehow you also somehow attract men traveling alone. Well, I was definitely in Slovenia and had just had a pizza in a restaurant. And then of course the dogs are always a magnet for people. And then I started talking to two brothers and their father. And they were just on the road with the motorcycle, we chatted a little. At some point I drove and before that, because I was interested, because the campsites in Slovenia are always so full, I asked which campground they were at. And then they said: here and there. And then I said, ah, I tried too, but it was already full. And then I said, yes, I'm back there at this nature campsite - actually super nice there too. Yes, and then I drive to the nature campsite, set up my caddy and lie in the caddy. I slept with the tailgate open because I don't really have that problem at the campsite. And suddenly one of the men drives up there on a motorcycle in their mid- 40s. And then pitched his tent next to me. So kind of spooky, because I mean he actually had a campsite. And then came up to the back of my car and said something. I didn't get it because my dogs completely escalated. So Stix actually snapped in the air too. I said: I'm sorry, I can't understand you. And then at some point I closed the tailgate in the evening. And then I actually waited in the car until it was gone the next day because I was so uncomfortable. Because I couldn't understand what he was doing now either . And I had a similar situation again in Portugal. Also a super nice man, he was probably over 50. And I was surfing and he just gave me a few surfing tips. I thought that was really cool and we got on really well. And then I said I was going to go straight on. There's a surfing championship there. And then he said, cool, that's where he wanted to see if he could come with me. And then I said, yes, of course, he can come with me. It's not dramatic for me now . Well, and then we got there and then we were briefly on the beach to have a look. And then his son called and on the phone he said things like: Yes, I've just met a woman and so, I'm on the road with her now and she will probably travel around the days with her. And when he hung up I said: Wait a minute, should that be me? I'm sorry, but I think you misunderstood that. So for me it is not a problem if you are here now too. But we're not traveling together now. So it was kind of weird then. But that I was really scared was not the case now. I then already feel that I am able to articulate myself correctly. And if you actually make clear announcements, that's actually not a problem. And I would have from the beginning, if I had been uncomfortable, I would not have had to seek the conversation from the beginning. I could have just walked on - so I'm actually very much for women traveling alone. And as I said, nothing bad has ever happened to me or to anyone who really wanted something or anything. I have always met very friendly and nice people. That is 1.12 by 2.00 meters. I'm also quite a giant at 1.83 meters as a woman. And that's one of the reasons why I don't have a table in here or something. Lately, many of them have had the kitchen in here somehow. I'm just a total seating giant. I can show that if I sit down here, that's kind of all for me. My structure should perhaps have been high enough for me to sit comfortably here. I had two friends who have it in the camper and they have used it for two years and maybe twice. Because then it is somehow tight to sit in the camper . That's why I left it straight and I'm very happy about it. Because you have the tailgate and then you can always sit under the tailgate when it rains. So, now the exciting question that so many people have when camping is: What do you do when you have to go to the toilet? And now since recently - I have just rebuilt again, I got a dry toilet from Kildwick. And for that I cut my folding mattress apart. And I pretty much fastened them here with Velcro. You have to take them apart once. So, and then you just lift this over here - either in that direction or in that direction. And then I just used this part to fold it in - as you can see here. Now you can see my fresh water tank again. And I left the space here in the middle free. You have to push it a bit forward and then you have a toilet. For me, of course, it's always a huge effort to climb into it. But as you can see, you can also go to the quiet place here. You can also do everything here directly . And then you can go to the bathroom. It actually works amazingly well. I always thought like that, oh god, septic toilets - then it stinks. I really have to say, the two of them really did something great. And yes, you also have another stopper here that you can put in. And here is another part too, now I can still see it, fortunately it is empty. You can use it to open that and then the individual dividers are in here . So I'm definitely a big fan of it. And I'm curious how it will be on my first vacation in Portugal - how often I will use the part. Today I thought about it twice on the way, but then I found a rest stop. Then you just close it again. If you're in Scandinavia or Germany , for example , and it's raining for five days, that's stupid. Now I have a parking heater, so that's half as bad. Because you can simply use it to dry things even when it's damp in the caddy . But my first trip was in Scandinavia, in Sweden. It rained for five days. I was traveling with a friend, she also had her dog with her. Two wet dogs, two wet people - at some point everything is wet. And we were always hiking, we were always outside anyway. That means, at some point you are wet and you just don't get dry anymore. That's always a bit of the unpleasant thing about mini-camper life . But now I can actually time it quite well and then you just look. So if I know it's five days of rain, then maybe I won't go out for four days, then you might go two days and then it's okay. You have to make it a bit dependent on the weather. That's what you are with a mini-camper, you have to say that. Here are my seats. These are actually not original caddy seats. They are now from a Touran. And it is more or less the case that caddies are actually vans and not camping cars. You can only tilt the passenger seat, i.e. fold it completely - if at all. And I woke up at night and had been thinking about how to do it for a long time. And I found out, so I realized, that everything is the other way around in England . And that's why I made a passenger seat from England as my driver's seat. I hope you understand what is meant. But in any case, I can now fold both seats. That means, I always start - here next to it I can flip a switch and then it's just completely parallel. And then I put it all the way back. That's all. That's number one. I also do that on the other side. I do that here too. Zack. And I think it's backwards. Then I'll go back one door and hang this up here. That's always a little trying. So, and then it's actually already inside. Then things come back once. The mattress piece to the front. That is fixed once. So, and then you can lie in here wonderfully - me as a giant anyway. Yes, you can turn on a nice video here with the i-pad and then sleep in peace. Yeah, well I would say there's never a right time for that. Because you always believe that everything has to be perfect, everything has to be great. Last year Corona - everyone said: Oh my God, don't go away and how can you go away. And then I said, I'll just do it now. And in a pinch, I'll drive again when things escalate in Portugal. And it was great, it worked great. Everything was with a mask - like us. And that's why I always look - not at this right moment, for that special "now everything fits" and now I'll make it wait. But just do it and just try it - you can always break it off, I think. So you can always say no, it's not that or it was stupid now. And on every camping holiday I have days where I said: What am I actually doing? I drive from a to b - where am I actually, what do I even want to do, now I can't find the right place. I don't think it's good, I won't do that, I'm going back now, I don't really want to go back. There are always days like this - don't let them get you down. And especially at the beginning, if you are not that good, you will find yourself looking for a parking space.
