Minecraft - Nostalgia [810]

[Music] hello this is Stampy and welcome to a Minecraft Let's Play video and another video inside of Stampy's a Lovely World good morning no one it's just me and Esther I suppose um yeah this is uh we're going old school today this is quite fun actually so it's just me today no helpers and that is for a very good reason it's because they're all lazy and in bed not only joking I told them not to come because I am doing I guess a little surprise slash challenge for them I know I'm not hungry enough speaking of challenges I have the challenge of having to eat all of my breakfast cake in a moment so the trick is I need three bits of hunger left in order to eat a whole cake there we go that's good I'm delicious right let's go grab Barnaby Yeah so basically the last episode I started building the outside of an escape room so we've got all of the outside building done but the idea is that my helpers are going to compete to see who can complete the escape room quickest or whether they can complete it at all so basically there's gonna be a bunch of puzzles uh some of which I will begin building today and then they're going to take turns going to try and complete it and yeah whoever completes its fastest win so for that reason they can't help build it because they'll know the solution of the puzzles like you wouldn't design a crossword yourself and then try and solve it it'd be too easy so that's why I'm by myself today uh but I will be joined by a couple people I'm adding to my love garden and that is Ben and Parky and that's because they made this model in Minecraft of my YouTube's which is like a little figure like here's the real one uh now uh which I have um I like four for sale and they made a version of it in Minecraft which is a really cool idea I never kind of considered anyone would uh would do that and if you like the look of it um if you're watching this as the video came up you can get them until the 4th of August of this year and then after that they'll never be available to her to buy again so if you do want one um yeah you're gonna be quick because this is your only chance and yeah it's so cool seeing like a version of it made in Minecraft so thank you so much for doing that Ben and Parky and welcome to my love garden it's crazy like how like full circle it goes because it's like I had the skin in Minecraft and then like I had like a design I did of that like ages ago it's like my logo and then from that that's kind of what that like model is based off but not to look like it's in Minecraft and then someone has taken that model that someone made to make into like a real life figure and then built that again back in Minecraft it's like going like full circle it's like a big loop like I now need to make like an uh like a drawing of that and then make that into like a model like it will just keep going round and round and round anyway uh let's have Gregory Jr you can uh join us to today and keep me uh keep me company and I will need you to keep me company because I am uh completely by myself so we build it over by Polly's house we built the outside of the building with a bunch of chiseled bookcases uh which is one of the the new things and uh chiseled bookcases were actually also be involved inside of the the structure as well I won't explain all of the puzzles yet because I probably won't get this thing entirely done today like it's going to be split into two different rooms you're gonna start in one room and then at some point you cross over to another room and my plan is is to get all of the first room done today so yeah this is what the other building looks like on the outside you can see the way we use like the the bookcases here and there's a bunch of designs like on the other side as well don't go in don't go I knew it I knew they only did that so they're going to be annoying and getting in my way as I try to build and there's a sheep in here as well I leave the door open for one moment and this is the chaos that starts starts happening right sheep get out sheep sheep go on there you go out the door out the door sheep out the door sheep please other dogs I'm gonna accidentally kill you so I'm gonna try I'm gonna be trying to break something and then I'll go oh you know what okay you can stay you can stay sheep you're part you're you're part of the game I wrote this this is where you're gonna enter uh the first room is going to be there there's going to be a wall somewhere like here and this is going to be like the behind the scenes area because the idea is is I would run around the back here like this and there'll be glass along here because these are the rooms and so then that way I'll be able to watch them all and I can give them hints if I need to uh while they're uh while they're doing this so right can anyone guess what the first room is going to be based on just from what you can see here hmm maybe some of you can what about if I start doing the carpet out of this blue wall can any of you uh now guess what it's uh what it's made of what about if I mention that the ceiling is going to be a mixture of gray wall and uh no it's going to be Stone and light gray wall does that help anyone work out what this uh what this is going to be uh I was scared that I was going to run out of carpet but I did I did bring another bit actually I almost had enough of one stack there but there we go here's the the floor then yeah the ceiling is going to be these two colors can anyone work out what this room is gonna be based on yet okay I mean to be fair like obviously my thumbnail would have to be a screenshot from this so you could probably all just tell what it was from the the thumbnail to be fair so uh yeah it's gonna be my bedroom but not my bedroom as it is now like what I thought would be fun because obviously like I love my new bedroom and I think I was overdue like renewing it but I do know there is like part of like the community that kind of like only care about nostalgia and like all they want to do is relive like when they were watching my videos when they were young and happy before they grew up and got worried and had jobs and had to pay taxes you know the good old days and some of you were still in those good old days so I hope you're appreciating it um yeah and I know there's some people that just kind of don't want things to change and to stay the same and I get it I get it because I reminisce and I have Nostalgia about things that I used to to watch and things that I used to to do as well so I totally understand it don't don't think that I'm saying that like we shouldn't ever engage in Nostalgia like it makes us happy why shouldn't we um but because of that some people didn't like the the new room just because it was new and just because it was different and like it had been the same for so long so I'm gonna do like an almost exact replica of that room here and kind of like as like a bit of like a novelty just to be like remember what my room used to be like so I got a bunch of things here which will be important for all of this uh this decoration so if you remember there used to be on here there was a cake this is basically still the same in my my new room I guess like to be fair like the room didn't even change that much to be fair like it wasn't like a completely redesigned it and I mainly just made additions uh but then yeah crafting table here and then if you remember down here it used to be Barnaby's bed I probably should have took part of me with me today you know what Gregory Jr you can test out Barnaby's bed and you let me know whether you think you will actually you can just wander around you do what you want uh and then yeah here's of course where the painting will go we won't worry about that for now but I will break a hole through here there's going to be a door here and that's going to be one of the puzzles that you're going to need to open so right let's go do this other side of the room luckily as part of the design I needed to use a crafting table so I needed to place a crafting table so I can use that now let's go make some more wooden planks and we're gonna do a double chest because there's now a chest down here there didn't used to be because of the things I made the room much bigger and so like it's all like feels really compelling doesn't this seem like really small like these are the right dimensions of what it used to be but because I went up so much higher and I dug the wall back a bit like I kind of made the whole room I think seem much bigger uh anyway then here there was an item frame and I don't know if I've got the Terracotta I don't so there's a bit of terracotta that will be in that there but that's not part of the puzzle so that doesn't really matter for today and then down in the corner we of course had the rose that was just resting on like a grass a block so let's go and make a couple trap doors because they kind of like surrounded it on the outside there and then it works out really well because this is all going to be glass along here uh let me just do like a little bit to kind of show you so this is going to be like glass along there and along here like this but it's going to cover this whole wall which obviously really matches the way that my bedroom actually is and then is like fits in nicely uh for what we're going to be uh building here and then the bed will be in the middle so let's do this and that there and then let's break this away let me just make sure 100 this is in the middle so we go one two three four five then one two three four five as well on the other side and then here and here there will be a door and then a door on the other side and the aim for the escape room is well is to escape and these are the doors you're going to escape out of but they're going to be iron doors and there won't be any you like obvious easy way in order to get out of them so basically you're gonna have to craft or I don't know do redstone or find some ingenious way to get these doors to open oh yeah and you can't just break you can't just come to the escape room with your pickaxe and break through the walls watch my helpers one of them will try it what I bet you so the rule is you're basically never allowed to break anything just you wait until one of the helpers does it straight away and all the sheeps come around to have a look I'm calling it now one of them will they won't resist it's so hard like that's just such like a thing in Minecraft as you can just break your way for everything like it's kind of hard to be like the mentality of like nope not allowed to here no I'm gonna send bookcases here and there needs to be books of very specific amount so there's going to be a couple books in there one two three books in there and that's the way it has to be but that is for a puzzle which is going to be in the next room because the idea isn't going to be is that you just don't oh yeah do you want to go sit in there and sit and sit in Barnaby's bed now Greg would you that's all right Barnaby will never know you'll get away with it Barnaby will never know it's like you know when like you have someone else's food and always tastes better if you take their food the same with dog beds as well dog beds are always comfier if you're not meant to be the one going on it um what was I saying yeah so the rooms aren't like like completely separate it's not like as I say like you do everything in this room and then you go to the next room like the idea is is you'll do stuff in this room then you'll go to the next room but you might need to come back to this room to get something or use the crafting table or something and that is I'm hoping what is going to make things like a little bit tricky for them because they might kind of like do this room then get to the next room and kind of forget that they can go back to this room so that's what I'm banking on to try and be a little bit tricky because the puzzles overall are very difficult like I don't want it to be too hard I want it to be fun rather than difficult so I just I'm just kind of being cheeky rather than trying to make it really challenging right then here we will have a sticky piston and then I'll have snow here and then of course the bed is going to go in here and actually I've realized I can't do this chest yet I'm gonna have to do the bed first then go and do the chest because it doesn't let you do it in the other world like even though you can have floating beds like they they need to be placed on blocks but then if you break away the blocks they don't disappear which is a bit of like a weird Oddity even if you had like one of the blocks there but not the others so right that chest will go down there because if you remember I did have a chest underneath my bed for a very long time which had like emergency supplies you know I might even still be there I'm not even sure maybe maybe I'll go check um yeah I'm trying to like incorporate the room as it is because obviously if I just invented a new random room it'd be very easy because I could do whatever I want but here it's a little bit restricted because I do want it to just look like my room so that's why I'm using the crafting table and the Jukebox will come into to play a little bit later on as well so right then let's talk about the first puzzle because that's going to involve these diamond boots so these these are obviously just replica diamond boots but the original ones were brought uh uh from Center uh to me a long time ago and the the idea is there's going to be a clue back here and let me make a sign and then put the clue up and see if you can work out what it is that you need to do so the clue will say don't lie in in the bed stand on your head don't lie in the bed stand on your head how would you stand on your head in Minecraft I'll let you look at the room can you think what you need to do in order to get that chest okay time's up this is as good as it will get for you if you're watching this video because I'm gonna spoil the escape room basically you spin these rounds so they're upside down as if you're standing on your head and then that will push up the piston and break away the bed is that good is that a good puzzle before that was a good puzzle so right then all we need to do is link up this redstone with the uh the item frame to make sure that works so if I break away excuse me you might get some snow falling on you if I break that away then I know I've got it right so that block will go here and the way we detect um if it's working is with a comparator so if I place a comparator here then this will be like just a simple trail of redstone leading up from it and then basically the more you spin the item round the more like like the further the Redstone will go basically like the more powerful it is uh the only thing is with this is if you did spin it right the way in a full circle it would still work but that's fine as I said like I could I could do things to stop that working but as I said I'm not trying to make this the trickiest one in the world like as long as it's been in that state it will work because it's kind of a one and done with the bed and then I'd need to like reset it and once again that's fine because that's like that's what you do with like Escape rooms as you do it and you make a big mess and then some poor person has to come in after you to go and fix up all of the the mess so Russia I need to keep going along the top here because I don't want to get in the way of these doors because actually I guess there'd be like a little tunnel going through here so I guess it doesn't matter too much so let's go like I guess if I go down here which I guess there's going to be a wall there I guess if I go along here like that then go down to here then if there's another block there I can go actually oh I could go just straight down this way I think that should uh set off the uh the Piston it's going to break the bed which is annoying but we can do this as a test so I believe it needs to be span fine uh span round it will be five Redstone away so we go one two three four five so then if I do a repeater here that should send the signal all the way to the end is the idea so let's see if this works so bed is intact so I go I'm gonna make sure it doesn't go early as well so that's upside down [Music] it's gone gone stay that block will stay pushed out I believe until it now goes back up right then it should go back in as what what oh it's worked beautiful beautifully so all I'd need to do to reset is basically what I did in the the first place so it's not going to take crazy long so let's go put uh yeah put the bed down first then put the chest underneath it and I might as well put the thing in the chest so the thing that's going to be in the chest is a music disc the music disc is going to go in there this is going to be the only way to get it because even though it looks like you could open that chest you can't because you go in the bed but as it says don't lie in the bed stand on your head uh so yeah yeah the music disc can you work out what you need to do with the music disc okay here's the big reveal yeah you put in the Jukebox that's almost like just a key it's not like a big puzzle like I'm sure someone will immediately work out you're gonna put it in the the Jukebox and then that is the thing that will open the door which will be here so there's going to be an iron door there and then that is going to be opened after you put it in the Jukebox and then that is yeah gonna be how you make it to the next room and I know this basically very simple but remember you are going to come back in this room later on to solve some other things and some of you may be able to guess what this room is going to be themed around hmm I'm not going to reveal it fully today but feel free to have a little guess in the comments put yourself on the the back if you get it right but make sure you comment before the next video is released because otherwise I won't be impressed because I won't know if you cheated or not right then let's once again let's break a hole here and then I know under that yeah so there's the jukebox there and I'm gonna basically use the uh the same trick uh rarely used by me uh Redstone comparators but look at these two uses in one episode so this can be used to detect like how many of an item is in a container like a chest a barrel or a jukebox so if I do the comparator here uh if it will let me I might have to break this away just so I can jump and place it down because I keep banging my head there we go so that will go there and then I guess if that one will be lit up so if I do that to there and then do a torch underneath it that that because I I don't need to worry about a repeater because then that will then turn this torch off because I'm gonna have to have a torch under the door to make sure that's working so I have to do a little bit of a little bit of digging you know what I'm gonna get rid of this wall for now like I know I know where this wall will be I put this in just to make sure I don't make my Redstone too big and it ends up taking up too much room so if I dig a little trench down here and then this can go under I guess this is where the door yeah the door will be there so I need to have a torch underneath there so this would be lit so this is on and so that is on so that no so that would have it open it's got to make sure I don't get muddled with my torches so this would go down there like that I know yeah no this will work so that one means it will be off so this will be the door shut because obviously I haven't put the uh the Jukebox in yet so let's go and place the door I've got to make a door first right uh let's go make a door and place that down I think this might be it working so oh yeah I've got to get I gotta solve the first puzzle right stand on your head this is a little test though I like that I like that a lot so my original design I had it is just a piston that you could see but I was like you know what this is enough of a big clue I could have it hidden that anything's gonna happen like hopefully that would be quite exciting when this uh when they work that out so then I could grab this and so putting this in the Jukebox should open the door yay it's good because it also plays the music which is of course chirp so it's almost like a little celebration as well so the the part that's obviously missing is the painting so let's make some more sticks and then I should be able to make myself a painting and then I just got to get it so it's the right one I did contemplate like maybe doing it so it's not the right one just because like obviously this is an escape room and it might not be exactly accurate but I was like you know it just looks too weird oh there we go we got it first try as well sorry let's turn that back around and then now the good thing is because the Jukebox is covering it I can leave all of that there and then go and fill all of these in there like that and then the only other thing I do need to do is reset the the bed which is the one annoying part but as I said this is much less annoying because normally every time you go into an escape room you're like taking everything off the shelves and opening every container and stuff and you basically leave a giant mess for the poor people that have to reset it every time all right you know it's probably a pretty fun job though working at an escape room Place anyone listening to this work at an escape room I said anyone listening to this workout escape room that I've been to since I've done so many uh right so yeah that's gonna go there this is this all reset so I need to add these doors down so there's going to be a door there and a door there and as I said I think I'll do them as just like tunnels leading to the other side uh but yeah this is basically as the room will be so Gregory junior you can stand up uh so you can teleport your way out if you don't want to follow now I know I didn't put the music disc in so let's go throw the the music disc in there like that I know yeah one other thing is this double chest isn't going to be used for nothing so I'm gonna actually make a few more sticks and just scatter these around in here like this so that's going to be part of that and then the other thing that's going to be in there is some paper as well I might also add some other random items as kind of like red herrings that people will not know like what they need to use so yeah these items will be needed would relate it to Something in the Next Room if you can try and have a think about about that so right let's go let's go fill in this glass along the the front here as soon as I have those other doors in order to get in and out actually you know what for now I might leave one Gap here just because I'm obviously gonna have to be going and doing a lot of back and forth into this room while uh building the rest so let's just leave this as a little opening here as an easy way to get in from it from this side and then yeah let's go around the the back here and then we can go and add these tunnels I think I do them out of this snow and luckily all of the Redstone will be nicely concealed in between all of the the walls so that will go down there and down here like this it doesn't matter which door they escape out of if that's a little bit of a of a spoiler for what's going to happen next uh yeah and then along the sides here uh it's just going to be gray wall so this wall here is all just going to be gray wall like that all the way up to the the ceiling actually I might bring a little ceiling a little bit lower down because it's a bit weird the way that it pokes there but yeah this is all going to be covered up like this this is like the uh the neutral space I guess that's kind of going to be along here uh like that so yeah this is basically the uh the first half of the uh the escape room done as I mentioned in the next episode we'll be coming back and uh doing the uh the rest of this room then I'll be all ready for our helpers to to go and have a play in here so yeah hopefully you enjoyed this video I'll see you in the next
