asks to get in and Grandpa agrees but Bart remembers he can't drive and grandpa says he couldn't at his age either grandpa I can't drive neither can I legally now let's get going but they both sit in the driver's seat and as they pass a patrol car they don't get noticed because the cops are busy with something else Grandpa starts praising Bart saying he has an adventure ous spirit that Homer never had with that they speed up and Bart says he never wants that day to end 2 years later grandpa is driving bart home and as they arrive Marge starts scolding Grandpa for being late because Bart's teacher was waiting to teach him to read Grandpa complains saying he never needed anyone to teach him to read in his time Bart is trying to read in the kitchen but it's slow going then Lisa comes in and Bart is sadly playing with his toy cars he hears Marge praise a drawing Lisa just finished Bart asks why Marge never praised the drawings he made in the kitchen everyone runs to the kitchen and sees the cabinet walls covered in drawings Homer freaks out saying Bart ruined their kitchen which was sacred to him seeing Bart's sad face Marge tells Homer he needs to say something positive to Bart Homer tries but can't do it while trying to find the kitchen Furniture he meets Milhouse Bart's new friend who was playing hide and seek with him ruined our kitchen I can't even find the fridge and who are you we're playing hide and seek I'm mhouse meanwhile Bart and Lisa are playing outside so Homer can repaint the kitchen when Homer finishes he thinks maybe it wasn't the worst thing that could have happened since the kitchen looks better now outside Bart tells Lisa there's one thing can do better than her and shows her a key in the next scene Bart drives the car into the kitchen completely wrecking it so Marge and Homer end up in therapy to figure out what's wrong with Bart the psychologist explains that Bart probably acts out because they give more attention to the other kids than to him she goes on to explain that the attention Bart craves the most is from his dad Homer tries to justify himself but she insists he take BART camping a boy like Bart the attention he craves most is from his father good luck with that man take him camping in the next scene we see Bart and Homer on the road Bart is super excited showing off everything he packed for the camping trip but when they stop at a motel parking lot Bart asks what they're doing there Homer explains that's where they'll be camping and Bart is disappointed because he expected to camp in the woods the only thing they do is stay in a room where Homer stuffs himself with junk food and watches TV while Bart plays with a compass at home during dinner Marge asks Bart how the camping trip was he replies unenthusiastically that it was fine and they earned Hotel points Marge then asks Lisa how school was and she shows his student of the month plaque despite being in school for only a month this frustrates Bart who has been at school for 2 years without any recognition he slams the table and heads to his room I've been there two years and no one ever gave me anything Homer takes Bart's dessert and says he'll bring it to him Homer goes to Bart's room and tries to console him saying that one day he'll appreciate having an older sister but Bart replies that he won't because Homer will always like her more Homer insists that's not true and that he loves them both equally Bart asks him to prove it by putting a poster he made on his car declaring him a good student Homer agrees to put it up the next morning Homer takes Bart's poster and feeling embarrassed decides not to put it on the car let it fly out the window Bart sees this from his bedroom window and feels even worse Bart's 12th birthday arrives and everyone gathers to celebrate however Bart complains about the Crusty themed cake since he's no longer a fan after a brief argument he just goes along with it as he's about to blow out the candles Lisa gets a text saying she's student of the month again when she mentions it Marge reminds her that it's Bart's moment this frustrates Bart who writes Lisa's name on the cake and congratulates her as she's once again the center of attention this is fine just let me fix this there now it's all about you happy at night Bart and milhous are skateboarding around the city knocking out all the street lights except the one at the retirement home Bart explains that he can't break that one because his grandpa lives there when the police show up Bart disappears leaving mil house to take the blame for an accident caused by the lack of street lights meanwhile Bart thanks his grandpa for letting him hide there but grandpa is just happy to have a visitor please don't arrest me it's a victimless crime oh I can't [Music] see Bart watches how milhous is being treated at the retirement home Grandpa gives Bart the birthday present he had been asking his parents for now Bart is enjoying his new bike in front of his house until he decides to go inside we see Marge and Lisa getting ready for a college prep camp for Medical School Homer says goodbye to them and assures Marge he'll take good care of their boy Bart overhears and reminds them he's now 15 but Homer speaks to him like a little kid Marge reminds Homer this might be his last chance to bond with Bart Homer sits next to Bart and tries to start a conversation but fails he gives up and announces he's going to Mo's Tavern which gives Bart a great idea later Bart throws a party at his house we find out that Nelson has a minimum wage job M house has changed a lot after getting out of jail for breaking the street lights and Bart accidentally kisses the wrong twin sister then he leaves the room and smells herbs worry he might get in responsibilities but in reality he was just like Bart a misunderstood kid he asks if they can make up with a hug as they hug Homer ruins the moment by saying he's glad to have his son who will never amount to much in life this makes Bart run away from home Bart rides his bike through the streets passing by the retirement home where his grandpa stayed he decides to visit the grave thinking about what advice his Grandpa would give grandpa I sure miss you man he imagines several scenarios and decides to follow the last one if he likes something he should go for Glory we now see the final of a duck scoreboard competition and Bart tells his dad he just needs to win one more round to have a victory of his own as he's called up the rest of the family arrives to cheer him on Bart's turn comes everything is going well even his most radical trick thinking he will finally step out of Lisa's Shadow he looks down sees her Shadow loses focus and Falls mid trick Lisa rushes to give him CPR and as he regains Consciousness it's announced he's okay however Lisa becomes the star of the show frustrating Bart he starts pushing her feeling once again that she stole this moment the crowd chants Lisa's name and when she tries to save Bart from another accident he refuses to move resulting in the helmet hitting his head which only gives more credit to Lisa move quick no warn you now older Bart draws for other people melhouse arrives asking if he'll go to graduation but Bart declines finding it humiliating to graduate the same year as his younger sister when Nelson shows up to mock Bart Bart asks how Nelson can do that to himself Nelson replies it was worth selling a gland to buy a car at mil House's graduation party everyone chats until Bart arrives milous admits he was getting worried but Bart reminds him he's been there every time milous broke and fixed his nose mil House's parents thank everyone for coming including those hired to make Milhouse look more popular embarrassed milhous is comforted by Lisa who congratulates and kisses him milhous declares that after all he went through in his childhood Lisa is the best part of the party this enrages Bart who realizes he can't even be number one at his best friend's party Bart and Lisa argue about always being second best she tells him to stop blaming her for everything wrong in his life Lisa points out his many talents as an artist but he doesn't recognize them surprised that she considers him an artist wart decides to leave the party on his bike and you already have a true artist's most important asset a miserable life after a few more years we see that Bart now owns a customization shop when Nelson walks into his shop Bart compliments his style and learns its thanks to Lisa Nelson explains he's there to return all the lunch money he stole from Bart during their childhood starting with a payment of $5,000 Bart then discovers that Nelson and Lisa are dating Lisa compliments Bart's shop and even a painting on the wall but feels sad not to see any of her paintings Bart simply says there's nothing he can do and offers to buy her and Nelson a beer Lisa agrees and says she'll wait in the car while B's Closing one of the doors we see Lisa's face painted on it when Lisa noices she's happy even though Bart warns her she wasn't supposed to see it Nelson observing the signature albarto is surprised to discover it was Bart's signature to end the episode Bart and Homer are lying on the grass again questioning life but unable to get up even as the sprinkler with them because they are drunk thanks for watching
