MF 135 TRACTOR (Trailer for DVD)

capaci Ferguson 135 became one of the company's most popular and successful tractors the date is still sort of either for work or increasingly for restoration at the Smithfield show in December 1964 Massey Ferguson launched a three model range attractors the Massey Ferguson 135 the 165 and the all-new 175 officially they were known as the hundred series of worldwide tractors but were often referred to as red giants or rugged new breed the tractors were destined to become a major international success for Massey Ferguson but diesel engine a Perkins ad three one five two three cylinder direct injection made two Massey Ferguson specifications capacity two and a half litres fitted with a CA V DP a type injection pump and C AV injectors this engine was reliable economical robust and a good starter a clear uncluttered dashboard layout with comprehensive instrumentation a large dial in the center being the tractor meter showing engine rpm ground speed and the hours worked going clockwise next an ammeter to indicate battery charge then the fuel gauge then the temperature gauge and finally the oil pressure gauge the standard gearbox gave six forward and two reverse speeds one-two-three and reverse on the main gear lever and high and low on the smaller range gear leaver with an S position for starting this picture shows a multi power lever on the dashboard in front of the gear levers but this was an option the gearbox itself was of a robust sliding mesh design multi-part transmission was an option 115 pounds extra over the standard transmission in 1971 this doubled the basic gear range giving 12 forwards and 4 reverse speeds giving an increase of 30% in each gear you could change on the go from low to high or vice versa there's no engine braking in low multi / but you had engine braking in high multiple this shows a typical application of pressure control on a four wheel trailer pressure control can vary the hydraulic pressure from a hundred and fifty pounds per square inch to two thousand five hundred and fifty pounds per square inch which is used to apply a lifting force through the lower links to the coupler the Koppers chain pulls on the implements drawbar putting a downwards force on the tractor to rear wheels a safety release is built into the coupler the right-hand lift rod incorporated a leveling pops to assist in attaching implements a mark on the right hand lift Lord shows when both lower links are level the field work the leveling box can be adjusted to level up the implement once in the correct position a spring clip holds a leveling box lever stationary the standard Delap seat was fitted with a cushion and backrest but as an option a suspension seat shown here could be fitted this seat could be adjusted for height and reach and for the operators wait either heavy medium or light also it could fold forwards when leaving the tractor if you wanted this seat it would add 16 pounds to the price of the tractor in 1971 a lates mf1 35 and 40 loader fitted with a Massey Ferguson flexi clad safety cap the sides of the engine could be covered with warm air duct aprons the channel warm air into the cab a feature much appreciated by the driver in winter the 135 became a legend in its own right a tractor a punch above its weight an icon that is still much sought-after today
