Mess Kit Popcorn

hey greetings from texas we're going to do mess kit popcorn i'm going to be using this butane stove because i have a bad o-ring on my little camp stove here so what you're going to need is popcorn i have this amish popcorn oil okay and i made some seasoning this is just eighth of a teaspoon of salt pepper paprika onion powder and garlic powder and the general rule of thumb with popcorn is you don't you know you just want enough to cover a single layer on whatever pan you have this here is 1 8 of a cup 1 8 of a cup so you want to coat the bottom of your pan with oil let's fire this dude up and what i'm going to do is i'm going to put a couple kernels in here and when those start popping i'll know it's time to pour the popcorn in if you're doing this at home and using a pan you need a lid otherwise you're going to have a big mess but once it starts popping you can kind of turn the heat down a little bit move it across shake the popcorn seeds there make sure they're getting heated up evenly all right i can see the seeds start to sizzle a little bit and be careful with these mess kit lids you know they flop around and i'm going to have to turn this over like that so i got to be creative all right we gotta pop our popcorn in there let's get our lid on the wind's kind of not helping there we go i hear something supposed to get a rainstorm uh tonight so the wind's just coming from all over so what i mean about these musket handles all right i'm gonna call that done go all right could have went a little bit longer maybe still hot all right see what i mean when i say muskets are tricky we can get some seasoning on there got all blown away all right well here we go let's try out the popcorn that's good and that's seasoning with the paprika onion and garlic powder give it a kind of a barbecue flavor all right that's mexican popcorn easy to carry popcorn store is good that makes a nice little snack
