has your experience been so far it's amazing honestly today we actually reached a million subscribers thank you thank you to celebrate we decided to actually fly you out okay to Korea next week [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] why are you crying so you're gonna spend some time with us here you don't meet the whole team we're gonna fly you out all expenses paid just pack your bags and we'll see [Music] [Music] anyway so she feels gonna be with us for a lot of week you know just show her like the inner workings of Asian boss a little bit so she told yard I have a whole team here just so everybody knows who he told is pretty much our first-ever volunteer reporter and at the time we couldn't pay her we never met her maybe just I don't know tell us who you are so I guess you posted one video it was about why Asians are not curious that triggered me so that's when I texted you guys on Facebook and cake got back to me in two days and I was like wow I know that yeah you have pretty straight parents how did they take the news when you told them that you wanted to work with Asian boss they wanted me to go to USA or UK and things like that because that's what people in my town do but I was like no I wanted to stay here I have to stay here for Asian was and do something what did they want you to be I'm a physics student so my plan was to go into astrophysics that that is what my plan was now you go from that to wanting to work with us because I was very depressed and I was a person who was so reserved that I wouldn't even go to a shopkeeper and start talking I had I had this problem of low BP and I would start crying whenever I go to people to talk to I was like I want to change this I want to untag myself from being a reserved person and just go in the streets and talk to people you're you probably one of the most driven people even you know within Asian bosses why are you so driven to this cause I found like people are so ignorant around us and they do not want to know about other cultures and share their opinions so and I really like asking questions to people and mostly people like shut me off you know stop stop asking us questions so I was like this is a good opportunity I have nothing to lose that's what I think so Steve's words matter to me a lot so okay so when I was depressed and like his his words like you know I trust you I know you can do this and that was well to me I'm like someone is trusting me so I have to do that we're not doing this because it's cool like I think we're doing this because yeah necessary you feel like we could spark some sort of a movement global grassroots movement of young people wanting to just share their opinions and communicate with one another that's what drives us that's what that's why we're working so hard some people actually think oh you know you're just bad-mouthing our own country the thing is unless we talk about these social issues like no one's going to discuss it that people firstly have to be aware of the issue and you know somebody might take action because of that - ultimately that's all we're trying to do we want to raise awareness and go deep and we don't just like scratch the surface it's really good to know that that kind of vision resonates with smart people like yourself you know I think we have to get more people on board because they're just so much more work to be done we're probably not even at 10.1% of where we need to be at so we're gonna keep going [Music] now that we had a little chat I will have a look at the videos that you shot let's maybe go [Music] we need this to be a movement which means that we have to empower other people that might not have the same resources and figure out a way to to make them shoot videos like we do so we have different countries that we want to expand to and we are Asian boss so we have to cover Southeast Asia more of Middle East - as much as we appreciate the the passion and you know the drive although volunteers they need to be trained right and at this point yeah it takes time we don't even have the resources ourselves because we're here every night working until midnight I think we're like stretched really thin right now but then I have another issue because if we have a time sensitive topic that we really have to get out because it's just we have to edit and everything there's so many steps in order to get the final product maybe the camp the one camera guy that we have in this country may not be available this whole week so how are we gonna shoot given the fact that we're media startup and we don't have a lot of resources we just gotta be creative we gotta figure out a way to make it work because there's always a way all we can do is just find the right people overseas to who understand what we're doing so that I can just replicate what we're doing at the headquarter hopefully this gives you a taste of what our meetings are like yeah shoo-ee I don't know [Music] on the one gift Wow from YouTube while you're in Korea I know it's a little bit cold here so and we don't have a selfie stick oh great and great and then you can put it as a tripod it changes to tripod whoa that is love you talking to us today oh let me introduce myself first I've been managing Asian bosses channel for three years now I guess and first time I met Kay and Steve they were trying to you know give voices to everyone in the world and let them talk about the issues or controversial topics that weren't really dealt in judicial media how do we have reporter in India we have reporters in many other Asian countries the growth of the channel has been amazing because I wanted to us like like you might have consulted and seen many channels grow in Korea what makes Asian was different I still remember the first day I met Steve he was the first creator that I thought was the most visionary like he had a vision and that vision wasn't like we're gonna have like 1 million subscriber in next year his vision was to change the world and I haven't really seen a creator or a channel that says oh we have a big vision to change the world and that vision is actually aligned with Google's vision and YouTube's vision and they were so hard-working so I think that made each of us channel will be unique so we were kind of blown away when we first came to here cheap Egypt office because we didn't realize we can get so much value from you guys you know basically it was going through all this data and like analyzing it and then basically tailoring the suggestions to what to do and so on mm-hmm agent Moss was actually our ambassadors and Steve he participated in more than 10 events to educate those oh you know aspiring creators with YouTube so he's been adding lots of values to us too because we have a global platform like YouTube we're able to get people on board with our vision so we want to take this opportunity to say thank you to manager Minji as well thank [Music] [Music] we thought they'd be really nice for us to find a vegeterian place where they also serve tree traditional food it's a Korean culture for us to have all the food in the center and we share them [Music] so she's all very very glad that you came all the way from India well I think it's good that we can all catch up like this over a meal so we need so the whole team yeah so how we work yeah like did you imagine it like that it was more intense than a third yeah I can see how hard are you guys walking and Steve you have taught me many things so I'll try to implement it here leader [Music] so you've been with us now for five days yeah how did you find those five days so it's been interesting I can feel much more connection between us and I now like really get the vision and I got to know like I got to know you better you guys I told my mother that I'm going to meet my family well speaking of family all right yeah we've prepared a little gift that's your business yeah
