The Mechas are here. Can you tell us what that
is and why it's here? - [Elmo] It looks like a spaceship. - Smells like pie. - I'll take a closer look and
see if that gives us any clue. Jets! Wahoo! It is a giant pie! Oh and what's that? It's a card! You're both right! It's a pie from outer space! - Hey everybody. It's a giant pie from outer space! - And there's enough pie for everybody. Yeah! (all cheer) But how do we serve big pie? Aha! Me can smash it into small
pieces with me handy hammer hand. - I don't think a hammer is what we need. We need something that cuts. Like Mecha Elmo's laser cutter! - Yeah. Laser cutter! Not that. Hold on, it's here. Tada! Cool laser cutter. How will Mecha Elmo get
up there to cut the pie? - Ooh, I can help! Hang on! (action music) Cut this way and that way. Cut here. Yeah! Almost done! - Ooh! - Time to have some pie! - One for you, one for

asteroid is a big rock that travels through space. This asteroid will land
right in pretty big city. - [All] What? - What does this have to
do with sending us a pie? - This pie we sent is the right size. It's in the right place and it's made from the right material to
catch and hold the asteroid. So, no worries. - Ah, the nice alien set
the pie to save the city. (all gasp) - [All] And we ate it! So now there's no to catch the asteroid. - Just an empty pan. - Uh-oh. An asteroid's coming and
there's an empty pan. (crowd yelling) - Okay, Mechas. We have a problem to solve. (action music) - Plan it! - Test it! - Solve it! - Mecha Elmo knows how
to solve this problem! Mechas should bake our own big pie! - Do we have enough time to bake pie before the asteroid gets here? - We won't know until the
asteroid is close enough to see. Hmm. - Oh, me have tool to see things far away! Googly vision! Oh, me see asteroid is
getting closer fast! Yeah not enough time to bake giant pie. - There's not enough
time to bake a giant pie. (crowd yelling) - Mechas we need to find another solution. Did we observe anything
special about the pie? - Hm. It was yummy, but the yumminess
never stop a big rock. Yeah, trust me. - Squishy. The pie was squishy. - Great observation, Mecha Elmo. What if we fill the pan
with something squishy? Look for something squishy! - A leaky beach ball is squishy. - What if we make a test model
using this regular pie pan. Imagine this is as big as the giant one. - And imagine this rock
is the big asteroid. - Begin test of squishy thing in pan. (rock crashes) End test. Squishy thing not work. - Hmm. The rock stopped, then
bounced out of the pan. Something squishy won't
stop and hold an asteroid. - What else did we observe? - Sticky! The pie was sticky, too! - That's it! We need something both squishy
enough to stop an asteroid and sticky enough to hold onto it. - What is both squishy and sticky? - Asteroid very close. - The asteroid is very close! (all yelling) - That's squishy and sticky. - Who me? - No! Your gum! Izzy, can Mecha Elmo please have your gum? - Sure! - Thank you! - Quick! - Let's test it. - It works! Gum is squishy and sticky. asteroid and stick to hold it. - Oh boy. We're gonna need a lot of gum
to fill that giant pie pan. - Mechas, I've got this. Be right back. Jets! (action music) - Mecha Abby, can I help you? - I would like enough
