Hello, hello, hello, everyone.
I am back and today, we're in the West End but we're going to
go in search of one of the richest neighborhoods in
London. In fact, one of the richest in the world. You've
asked for it. We're delivering it. Plenty to see. We are
heading into Mayfair. Ladies and gentlemen, the lifestyles
of the rich and famous, the playboys, the millionaires, the
private clubs, the beautiful boutiques, the amazing
shopping, the Barbers of the Queen, Scandal, Sex, headlines,
so much to tell you. Rock and roll, massive rock and roll
history. We're going inside some amazing buildings. Um I
want to show you some secret places. I don't want to give
away too much because there is so much to do in Mayfair and so
much to see. Let's have a look around. The stunning
neighborhood that gives its name to a fair, the Mayfair,
the took place for 15 days. Um that was abolished in the late
1800s, but we're going to head into Shepherd's Market as well
where the Mayfair took place but I don't want to tell you
too much. Let's just go for a walk with me. Beautiful day in
London. It's actually stunningly beautiful. On
today's Mayfair tour, we're taking a short trip around
Mayfair to see the highlights. I'm starting at Picantilli and
heading my way down Half Moon Street to Curzon Street. Our
first stop will be GU OF Trumper, a very exclusive
barbers which has been the barbers of royalty and the rich
and famous for centuries. From here we'll head through the
Shepherd's Market and then onto Curzon Street again and see
some beautiful architecture along the way including the
Embassy of Qatar and several other buildings in the area.
Then we'll head from Mount Street Gardens, a hidden away
oasis and the stunning Farm Street Jesuit Church right in
the centre. From here we'll head then towards Berkeley
Square and discover Mayfair gems such as Annabelle's and
the showrooms of some very exclusive cars and the
birthplace of Her Majesty the Queen. From here we'll head to
Cloverages and we will finish our tour today on Upper Brook
Street for a very special treat is in store. Two very famous
museums. Now there's a lot to get through. Follow me ladies
and gents. Hope you enjoy the tour. So I just want to show
you where we are. We're actually on Piccadilly and just
in the distance there is the world famous Ritz Hotel. Uh
Porsche is just across the road. Now there's several ways
to get into Mayfair. I want to take you down half Moon Street
just down this very street here. So it's in the west end
and it's actually between Oxford Street Region Street,
Piccadilly and Park Lane. So it covers quite an expensive area.
Now Obviously we're only going to do a little highlight
tour. I want to show you some of my favourite bits there. And
we're going to make our way straight down here towards this
church and that'll take us down to Curzon Street. Eh this is
affectionately known as well as the hedge fund alley. Ehm just
be prepared for some eh wicked cars, some very expensive
hotels. Massive history in area. So Piccadilly is quite
busy as you can imagine. But I just want to show you how quiet
it can be down in this amazing district. Now people tend to
get lost when they end up down here. But some of you will know
where to go but I mean some amazing antique stores. Thank
you for all your amazing comments by the way. I do try
to read them all ladies and gents. I can't always respond
to you all but just know that I am fully aware of the all and I
am greatly appreciative of all your fabulous comments and your
constructive criticism. Helps me to learn as a guide so we're
going to head straight down. We might get a few weird looks
down here because they're not used to people filming. But
straight away when we hit Curzon Street we're going to
get some immense rock and roll history. Now one of the barbers
of the royal families down here as well, GEOF Trumper and I
briefly mention it's around the Saint James' District as well
but the one here on Curzon Street is the oldest one and
it's the Barber of the Dukes of Westminster. Now this area,
predominantly the majority of the properties down here are
owned by the Grovener family. And the Grovener family which
we touch on before. A chap called Thomas Grovener. The
1700s married a young girl called Mary Davis. And he
acquired all this land and this property around here. So you
will see a lot of Grovener Place, Grovener House, Grovener
Gardens. So the official title of the Grovener families now
are the Dukes of Westminster. And this in fact is the
Barnabas of the Kings and Queens. The rich and the
famous. A stunningly exquisite building and a beautiful
barbers inside. Luxury pampering for the gentlemen in
this area. Now I'm eternally grateful to Miss Trumper
herself. She's given us permissions to film inside. So
what we're going to do is we're just going to give you a little
shot of the place and then I'll tell you a little bit of the
history of the place. But firstly look at this. Isn't it
stunning ladies and gents? Since 1875 GEF trumper have
become known as an accomplished barber and master perfumer.
These attributes are still carried on in their shops today
using only the finest produce. So gentlemen you know where to
come from hot shaved wax for a trim for the barbers but I just
want to show you the distinguished members of the
royal family that have been here over the years. Now of
course there's Queen Victoria. Her son Edward the seventh. As
we know was known as Dirty Bertie. George the fifth, the
father of Edward the eighth and George the sixth and there of
course is George the sixth, the father of the Queen, the
subject of the movie The King's Speech. Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth the second and his royal highness the Duke of
Edinburgh. So they are attributed shopping in this
beautiful beautiful store. I'm just going to take you on a
little journey down. The boys do not particularly want to be
on camera so I don't want to annoy them too much but look at
the gifts and the goods on offer. Now this is the real
luxury. The luxurious barbers of London for the chaps. Now
it's always about the girls so it's nice to show the gentlemen
where they can come for an afternoon of pampering. One of
the most exclusive in London. So let me just take you down
here. I don't want to delay them too much. They've a couple
of appointments coming in. Oh there's Winston Churchill
ladies and gents. Look at this. I mean talk about complete
luxury. There's my wonderful friend. Hi lovely. Sorry you
don't mind. Sorry. I don't want to disturb them. Look at that
gentlemen. Now literally I wish I was a gentleman myself coming
in here. What a stunning stunning place. The barbers of
the kings and queens. Now they are also proud to say that they
are modern day gentlemen can enjoy a treatment with Master
Barber and find any grooming product, fragrance and
accessory to complete the ultimate look of English
elegance. And that's what it exudes ladies and gents.
English elegance. Okay great. The gentleman said I can have a
quick look downstairs. Oh, wow. Now, this is just magnificent.
Knowing the Duke of Westminster himself comes here for his
pampering.
