hey guys Mike here at Amish tutorials welcome back well guys today we are going to model a modern house with a swimming pool okay it's going to be very modern very minimalistic and with a lot of glass in it okay here we go we're going to start off by creating a simple polygon cube okay and we're going to raise that up not too high let's do something like that alright then we're going to go in to mesh tools insert edgeloop tool' and we're going to add an edge loop up here and we're going to do one here and try to get a nice square in this corner right there we're going to queue our keyboard I'm going to go down here right click face I'm going to take these three faces and we're going to go to edit mesh and extrude under face @w and pull that down alright okay now that's our starting point maybe it's a bit high so we'll bring that back a little bit like so alright cool okay so next we're going to do is we're just going to create a temporary ground plane and we're going to delete that later on but just so we have a reference point we're going to go to object mode we're going to take our building and we're gonna set that up right there okay alright so next we're going to do is we're going to create some windows we're first going to start by creating two glass doors and then we're going to create glass sheets left on right of it okay so we're going to take a polygon cube pull that up and we're going to fit that into the front of our house okay so we're going to right click it off vertex legs like these two and we're just going to bring them down come on there we go excuse me take these two and make that nice and narrow something like that and we're going to decrease the thickness so if to zoom in right click object mode it our skeletal make that nice and flat okay right click face and select that face and we're going to go to edit mesh extrude hit our scale that in and scale that in something like so it G to repeat and W to push in like that okay then on the back we're going to right click at a face take that one and delete it okay so that's door number one all right right click object mode select it ctrl D to duplicate and move one door over and let's make sure that they are close together but not overlapping okay take these two mesh combined and let's move them into our building modify center pivot there we go okay check it from our top view if to zoom in for for wireframe mode so where's our building that it's right there ok so now that we have the first two doors for a house we'll move them over just a little - let's do it over here ok then we're going to create some glass panels so we're going to take another cube move that up and we're going to fit it in that space over there all right so we're going to move that over to about there right click vertex tracks like these to bring that in like these two come on there we go and let's right-click go to object mode hit our scale that in make it nice and thin and hit W and we're going to move that in right there check from our top view make sure that's aligned okay and then we're going to hit control D to duplicate and we're going to move that over here again make sure that it's positioned correctly we're going to control the D again let's move that in like so that is about right and then we're going to take this entire row not the building itself and we're going to push that in to let's say there that's fine okay we're going to take that last window we're going to ctrl D to duplicate move that in hit E to rotate make sure rat - 90 degrees go to our top view aw and we're going to move that over and connect it have to zoom in all right we're going to ctrl D to duplicate move that over and align it one more kind of fold D F to zoom in there we go and then down here we're going to create a little door and this opening isn't wide enough so we're going to go to the top and we're going to right-click our vertex and I'm going to take these and let's push that back a little okay so there we want to create something of a garage door if you will okay so we're going to create a polygon cube pull that up hit our push that in let's see if we can fit that in get four for our frame mode let's start to move that in there we go right click vertex like the top to bring that up like these to bring that over and that looks okay we're going to right click object mode we're going to move that in check it from our top view and we're going to give that a little bit more thickness so we're going to hit our let's do that okay let's give it a little bit of definition so right-click face edit mesh extrude and our scale that in hit W push that down and then on the top let's see well we'll do that okay and they're going to hit G to repeat and W to pushing all right not bad okay then we're going to drag select the whole deal like like an object mode looks like all of it we're going to hit ctrl G and we'll call that level one enter control D to duplicate that didn't take for some reasons control D now we did all right I'm going to move it on top there we go down just a little like so and then from our top view we're going to move our pivot point so we're going to hit the insert key and I don't know what the problem is with my in Turkey but it's acting a bit funny all right and then we're going to hit our and we're going to scale that top level in all right let's see we're at okay we're over there and what I want is to have some space back here for a terrace but I also want to move this top level so I'm going to select that this is the front of our house so we're going to hit W we're going to move that back a little bit let's see if we still have enough room for our terrace and not really so let's let's give that a little bit more size if you will right click vertex we're going to select these young guys object mode come on object mode what's the problem object mode okay right-click vertex flex like these okay we'll do it in two steps fine just going to pull that out to about there right click vertex take that let's zoom in okay that looks a bit better all right now we're going to create our Terrace on top so I'm just going to borrow these windows here let's combine ctrl D to duplicate W to pull up and I want this to be higher than our top level okay so I'm going to move that out back here check for my top view okay so that's going to be my Terrace modify center pivot there we go that looks alright and we're going to hit the insert key and we're going to move our pivot point right there and then we're going to hit our and we're going to scale that out to the end like so we're going to hit control D to duplicate W to move over to that end and then we're going to hit control D again pull it down 82 rotate to 90 degrees it W align that back there and we need to keep a little section open so we can actually get into the terrace okay before we do that control D and move that to this end right here that looks okay let's see okay so we're going to go to mesh and separate control D modify center pivot yes and actually copied which is good okay let's see we're at bring that up just a little bit now I want to sticking out so we need to tweak that a little bit right click vertex there we go okay so that's what we got so far okay now we're going to do is we're going to create our swimming pool so we're going to take this guy and let's see if we're going to do the swimming pool right here yes we will all right so we're going to go to our top view I have to zoom in now remember this is our pool area okay so we're going to go to mesh tools injured edge loop tool and we want the pool to start level with the house let's do right there and we want the pool to run to about there that's where our door stars okay and then we're going to do one here a little space in front of the house for the terrace and we'll do one there q on our keyboard okay so that's going to be the area for our pool right here right click face edit mesh' extrude hit W and pull that down and I don't want my pool to be level at the bottom okay so I'm going to go into this view right click vertex take this corner and raise that up so it's deeper at this end and so forth alright so now that we've got our initial pool shape I'm going to create a actually we'll just use a plane I'm going to create a water surface if you will and we're going to need to fit that exactly into that hole so I have to zoom in let's bring that down right click vertex on this guy come on object mode right click for sex and we're going to snap that one and snap that and it's not that okay now we're going to right click on object mode and we're going to bring down that water level just up it okay now let's start to create some textures so I'm going to select all that mesh separate on object mode yeah should be good okay so we're going to take the two main buildings of the two wall structures yeah wall structures okay right click assign a material let's go with a Lambert and we're just going to make that white okay then we're going to go into our door section here these are our doors all right so we're going to right-click go to face and we're going to select these outer faces and these interfaces right click assign a material mi a underscore X material tab presets chrome and blend 75% the same down here right click face we've got all those signed existing material there we go now let's deal with hourglass take all of those think I got them all okay and these and not that one okay so we've got all that right click assign your material and my am score X material tab presets glass solid and replace I'm going to scroll down click on this color tab and we're going to tweak the color a bit it's a little bit blue maybe that's not even bad we'll just give that a try okay all right then we are going to create some glass in our doors so right click face 1 and 2 existing material there we go and down here 1 & 2 right click existing trail and there we go ok so we've got all that now let's deal with these guys and right click assign the material Lambert and let's go with something dark grey just for the contrast okay now our pool right-click face we're going to select and I'll just hit 4 so we can see what's going on we're going to select the inner walls for our pool at the bottom there we go right click assign the material let's go with a Blinn and we're going to select kind of this baby blue color alright hit 5 and we're going to select our top surface here right click object mode face assign your material blend and we're going to bump up transparency quite a bit okay alright let's create some sunlight so render settings go to mental ray indirect lighting global illumination final gathering we're going to setup caustics because we've got a lot of glass going on quality 1.5 we're going to increase our image size to HD 1080 and we are going to set up a physical sign on sky okay then we're going to go to I already go window outliner we're going to look for our son there it is and I'm just going to hit W pull that up it's not really going to affect what our light is doing that is affected by rotation okay we're going at 7 on a keyboard so we can see the position of our light and the cool thing about the physical Sun and sky is as you rotate it it becomes later in the day and the color of the light changes from blue to kind of orange okay so we got that let's see if we can set something up here maybe you will simulate kind of a walk away if you will yeah we'll do that just for the effect so mesh tools entered edgeloop tool' and will create a path going down there and down there that kind of looks okay you want a keyboard right click face just take this right click assign the material let's do a Lambert let's take a I know a fairly light color maybe some very very light yellow in there okay and then we'll just quickly take the rest of the stuff assign the material Lambert and we're not going to create grass but we're just going to create something that is nice and dark green okay maybe one more path section that I need to create cell mesh tools injured edge loop tool we'll do one here it's kind of make sense I'll do one back here and then at Q on a keyboard let's see this face here was elaborate 14 so we'll add this and this existing material Lambert 14 and this one was Lambert 5 so change these to Lambert 5 okay let's give this a go alright let's extend this I don't mind those edges that's okay set up my render window okay and let's see how that works out for us okay just going to pause the video see you guys in the renders done okay guys here's our final render I just swapped out that ugly green color but besides that I didn't change anything so this is a basic design for a modern house and you know you can obviously make this more interesting by texturing floor tiles and grass and trees and all kind of stuff but this should get you on your way to create something nice okay well thank you guys for watching if you got any questions let me know and love to see you guys again bye
