[ The C96 "Broomhandle" Mauser
Family at the Range ] Hi guys, I'm Ian, thanks for tuning
in again to Forgotten Weapons. We have a really cool one for you today.
Today we're gonna do the Mauser showdown. We have pretty much every
combination of Broomhandle C96 Mauser. We are going to do some shooting and
see how they stack up against each other. [ The Guns ] So we're gonna start out with just a plain C96 Broomhandle Mauser, this is in .30 Mauser, and do some shooting with it. It does have a shoulder stock attachment.
So after we do a little with just the pistol, we're gonna attach the stock and
see how it changes with the stock. Then we're gonna take a look at a C96 carbine. This is a dedicated carbine model with a
16 inch barrel and a detachable shoulder stock. So I expect this will be a lot more
controllable, but we'll find out. And then finally we're going to use a Mauser 712,
this is the full-auto version of the Broomhandle Mauser. [ We will start with a basic C96 Mauser pistol. ] [ The C96 uses a recoil action and
has a 10 round internal magazine. ] [ 5 rounds at a target about 20 feet away... ] [ Well, that was disappointing - the barrel on this C96 is
worn out, and the rounds are keyholing (tumbling instead
of flying true). We only have one hit on the paper. ] [ Well, let's see if we can do better
with a shoulder stock attached. ] [ Ow! The hammer gives a pretty good
bite if you get your knuckle too high... ] [ We won't be winning any bullseye matches, but
the stock definitely helps improve our shooting. ] [ This time, all 5 rounds actually hit paper! ] [ Now a carbine variant. These were not
military-issue weapons, but instead made
for the civilian market. Not a lot were sold. ] [ With the much longer barrel and sight radius (and being
in much better condition), I expect this will shoot very well. ] [ A couple malfunctions there - but
the rounds all hit within a 2" circle. ] [ We neglected to get a clip of the target - sorry. ] [ Now the really fun one - the Mauser 712
machine pistol, aka the Schnellfeuer. ] [ The 712 was mostly sold in China, but was also used
by a few small groups of German soldiers and sailors. ] [ Need to switch from semi to full-auto... ] [ Dang - this thing shoots fast! The rate of fire
is about 17 rounds per second. ] [ Hehehe... now that's a fun shooter.
Let's do some more! ] Alright, and of course we can't have a gun like this out
here without at least trying it without the shoulder stock. Just, ... I guess I'm kind of dumb
that way, but we got to try it. [ It finally malfunctioned, because I didn't keep a solid
enough grip on it. Recoil-operated guns will do that. ] So this is by far the most accurate way to shoot a
Broomhandle, and really that should come as no surprise, because this is really a carbine that happens
to be based on the C96 Broomhandle Mauser. I was able to actually get a nice group with this one,
albeit at a short range, but really a nice group. The pistol itself was a little unwieldy,
didn't help that the barrel isn't in good shape. But even with the shoulder stock, the
pistol is a little questionable to shoot, it just doesn't have the sight
radius that the carbine does. And the Schnellfeuer? Forget about it,
you can't aim for crap with the Schnellfeuer. Maybe with a lot of training and practice, but that thing just
sprays ammo really fast and jumps all over the place on you. So, if you really have to hit it, this is the way to go. But if you just want a fun time, full-auto
Broomhandle Mauser is hard to equal. Thanks for watching guys. I hope you enjoyed it. [ sub by sk cn2 ] When you do that with carpentry,
it's called scaring the nail in.
Here is a very small example of the variety available at that time of just one pistol. This isn't even all the models available just what he had that day.
There are so many variant opportunities I honestly do not think we will have a lack of variety.
nobody is worrying about weapon variety , it's not like it's the first WW2 game we ever had , if dice made a world war 1 game and despite how inaccurate it is in matters of weapons it is well balanced and plays good , i think sledgehammer has or had a very big selection of weaponry to choose from , we'll see soon if they made a good choice !
Drift0r made a nice vid covering this topic the other day. I was suprised by the info
Anyone who played WW2 games knows that we shouldn't be concerned about limitations on weapons.
