when we made rounders poker was this like subculture that nobody knew about and like you know nobody knew that the level to which it was a game of skill but nobody really understood the game kind of you know the public at large didn't really understand the game I remember going to those clubs in New York like these underground clubs where you would go and you'd have to look into a camera and get buzzed in with steel door and like it was a whole thing and it was really really fun and really you know it was this underground world that I got access to that I had that I didn't know was there and then the game blew up and became very you know now everybody plays and you'll be maybe pleased to know that every time I play poker one of my friends will say give that man his money you be it to me straight up play him played that me and his money I have a good story about that actually so Malkovich you know the fact that he was even gonna come to do this movie the whole crew was talking about it I mean for months we're waiting for John Malkovich to get there I mean it's a big deal Malkovich is coming Malkovich is coming up and Jamel convictional Malkovich might I know literally it was it was like this is before you know that movie - so when he finally shows up he gets there and you know I mean it's like at that point he's walking on water and we do the first take and John goes if you don't have my money then you are mine and I'm sitting across the table from like I'm sorry well what what did you just say we were talking like this and suddenly the action okay my money and the crew burst into applause they're cheering they're like wow amazing amazing and I'm looking at him and I guess he sees me looking at it and he leans across the table and I leaned in and he looks at me because I'm a terrible and it was just literally one of my favorite things that's ever happened on a movie is so brilliant that's no treble and a great and a lot of wisdom too because if you get to the point where nobody gives you a straight answer you know it's dangerous you know but he was I mean obviously he's not a terrible actor he's quite the opposite he's brilliant but that moment of this that was it was special
