Matrix Resurrections WILL SUCK - trinity was the REAL hero all along

well i have some good news i have some good news about the matrix movie i'm not gonna bother spending my money to see it yay i get to save money by not watching the new matrix movie i think that's winner winner kicking dinner right there and maybe i can save enough money to actually go out and buy a chicken dinner that will be a lovely thing so anyways i think this is interesting from the popular culture world just to realize how oh my golly i think all of hollywood and all all of a certain side of history is it in its own weird little echo chamber and they just don't realize when it gets exhausting and tiring at a certain point in time now to be clear here i am not against uh female heroes again i just watched arcane if you have not seen arcane on netflix you gotta watch arcane i love arcane i love jinx but there's this weird thing in hollywood right now where um they're trying to replace all the old male heroes hours down it doesn't seem like they're trying to create a lot of new female heroes what they're going doing is going in and retconning the the old things that we liked to basically shove in the female characters and to prove that the female characters were the ones that were really significant all along which you know fine again it's not for me it's not for me i can accept that i can accept that these movies are no longer for me so i will take the money that i would have spent to go watch a movie and go buy a chicken dinner i think that's good right so it is so sad to me it's so sad because i was i was in the movie theaters to watch matrix the first time so again for any younger people out there you do not understand how pivotal the original the original matrix was was as a movie right so back in the day back when i was young i used to like to go to the movies a lot of times i really want to watch a lot of trailers or previews and again back then we didn't have trailers and previews the way you have now where you just go on the internet like we had to watch the previews or whatever on tv so a lot of times you would go into a movie being pretty cold like you wouldn't you wouldn't really know the plot you wouldn't really know much about it you would have seen a couple of the cool special effects or whatever uh in the preview otherwise you were just walking into it and you were a blank slate and let me tell you it was like 98 99 when matrix came out to be a blank slate in that time period to watch matrix for the first time was absolutely mind-blowing it wasn't simply the the the the the concept the conceit of the matrix that had actually been shown a number of times before different variations of that type of thing before but it was also just the implementation and the special effects involved again a lot of young people don't realize this now if you've watched a sci-fi movies from about 2000 to about now don't get me wrong sci-fi movies from you know 15 or 16 years ago the graphics the animation isn't as good as it is currently but it's actually really darn good right if you watch you know any kind of sci-fi thing from 2000 um the uh the special effects and such are not so bad as to break the suspension of disbelief right here's the thing before 2000 uh special effects were not that good again if you if you want to know that if you want to understand the the the world that i grew up in the media world i grew up in go and watch the old star trek the next generation movies the movies not not not even what was on television you actually go watch the movies and you realize how horrible the special effects were on those things and that that was a thing back in the day the only way you could actually be popular is if you had a plot worth a damn and so they had characters that people cared about and they tried to have a plot and they had some crappy special effects that's the world that we were in so imagine going into the matrix well-written well-acted just incredibly well done implementation and then you put the special effects on top of that because again computers were much newer the concept of computers and virtual reality is much newer than it is today um you know we didn't have oculus back then again we had windows 95 and you know 56k connections right and so just just that whole idea of how how would you shoot a scene in a completely digital world right in a virtual world that was just absolutely mind-blowing and it was phenomenal and they should have stopped there they should have stopped there i then i then i went to the movie theaters i went to the movie theaters and i saw matrix number two and three and i really can't tell you what the hell the plot was matrix matrix changed my life i don't want to say it changed my life but matrix was absolutely amazing uh the the second and third matrix movies were like i don't know war movies in the digital world that really had not a hell of a lot to do with them and so that was the thing so so we're told we're told that we're going to get the new matrix movie let me honest with you seems like cash grabbed me i i fell out of love with the matrix after animatrix remember animatrix that was awesome you had matrix and then you had animatrix that's what it should have been should have been those two things should not have been number two and number three anyway so you know we know we know that they're gonna do a new matrix because it's going to be a cash grab because they have to do something and so i knew this was going down the pike i knew i probably wasn't going to care about it a lot but it was funny because yesterday i was just sitting there and as they they pop up on youtube and say okay they got a new trailer for the new matrix resurgence or whatever the hell it's called it's like okay i'll watch this thing and then what i thought was interesting about is about halfway through it starts flipping over to trinity where trinity is so powerful and she believed in me and now it's my time to believe in her and trinity and trinity and trinity you're like oh oh i get what this is going i get this is going so so was it nemo nero nida what's his name knee anyways so keno reeves so so basically the idea here is that he wasn't really the chosen one it's going to be trinity and again it's like i don't know okay it's not for me it's not for me but you just i don't i watch this stuff and it just gets so frustrating anymore where they take these old pieces of intellectual property these these things that people actually do care about the people the things that people actually do have a connection with and it's so this this idea of subversion like i actually appreciated more back in the day when it was a cash grab so again for my generation we saw a lot of our intellectual property destroyed for cash grabs and to be honest with you like it doesn't make me happy but at least i can understand the cash grab okay so this company purchases this intellectual property they know if they pump something out a certain number of people are going to go wash it fine whatever but what's kind of weird now is i don't really feel like this is a cash grab because i do wonder how much money these things are making it's more just this this forced like we have to subvert your expectations oh you thought it was the guy now we're going to prove that it's the girl but then they just keep doing it again and again and again and again i talk about this like with picard i still have not seen an episode of picard i grew up again star trek the next generation star trek the next generation was pivotal pivotal for my generation it was just an amazing form of media back in the day again like i had i had a friend of mine who was a marine at the naval academy and he was reading this management book called make it so it was management principles off of jean-luc picard that is how that is how ingrained uh into our enmesh into our culture of uh star trek the next generation was but then they come out with picard and patrick stewart before it even comes out says i i don't want to tell that story oh that that story you want to know what what happens with jean-luc picard as he gets older what happens with jean-luc picard as he hands over the reins of the federation to the next generation right what happens with jean-luc picard when he gets to the highest of levels and now has to make decisions for the federation first off of a single starship right that kind of thing is very interesting right so jean-luc picard was very principled when he was the the captain of a starship but a principal decision for the captain of a starship is different than a principal decision for the admiral of the federation which may be different than the principal decision for a politician imagine if picard had become some kind of high level politician and now he's trying to make principal decisions and getting into arguments with people that used to be his subordinates because their principal decisions their principled stance is is at diametric opposition to his principle stance and wouldn't wouldn't that wouldn't that be an interesting show the future of like john look but don't we don't get that patrick stewart comes out i don't i don't want to tell that story oh this story you all want to hear no i don't want to tell that story all right fine what story do you want to tell i don't know i don't know what story he told because it looks horrible it looks horrible apparently they're swearing at each other all the time and then there's a lot of this grotesque nasty stuff in there which i really don't understand people vomiting eyeballs getting chopped out the whole nine yards it's like where was that at star trek the next generation you you didn't even have the budget for that even if you wanted to do that back in the day you'd have the budget for it but anyways this is a weird thing right they they take this intellectual property and then they just completely and utterly destroy it and then again if you don't watch it if you don't watch it it means you're a misogynist and then like picard too not now picard so not only did that is weird this very weird first season which is whatever it was but now but now season two of picard they want to come to this time period that now picard wants to come through this time period and stop the rise of fascism you're like what i wanted to see the continuing the continuing adventures of starship enterprise i liked the federation i wanted to see movies about the federation or shows about the federation not the destruction oh we subverted it well yeah you did but i don't want to watch it anymore i don't know it's just this weird this weird thing that you're seeing with all these shows and again like i noticed that like with uh with the marvel shows i have not seen any marvel show yet i figured i figured at some points at that point i would get disney plus right enough marvel shows come out i would get disney plus and then just bend watch and cancel my disney plus account but you know if you take a look at it again it's all it's all going it's all going completely weapons it was wanda wanda scarlet witch or whatever um and then after that it was loki getting kicked in the balls apparently getting owned by women and then after that it was a winter soldier where uh we're falcon and i actually like the falcon character but he starts lecturing people about you need to do better you need to do better anyway you need to do better hey falcon you want to build something i have a say anyways uh and now they have uh and now they have um hawkeye which isn't really the hot guy it's about the girl and it's like this whole thing it's like hey you know that thing you like again like i think about that with hawkeye right hawkeye right hawkeye was my favorite character when i was growing up i truly there's it was a west coast event i started reading west coast avengers when it was avenger west coast avengers it then turned into avengers west coast and there was a whole thing hawkeye was my favorite character i love talk i was hawkeye and then the x-men hawkwai was my favorite whatever right and so you get hawkeye in the movies and a lot of us really like hawkeye and we would really like an exploration of hakka maybe an ex an explanation of the whole ronin thing again i i didn't uh i stopped reading comic books in the early 90s so there was that ronan thing in the last adventures movie where during the snap hawkeye becomes an assassin or whatever becomes roman they don't really explain any of it in the movie like basically it's like he's out in this other costume killing yakuza and then somebody says we need your help and then he comes back there's no real explanation for ronin so one of them be interesting you had you have this built up interest in hawkeye just from the comic books you actually created a good character for the movies hey let's have an exploration maybe maybe that time of ronin right actually showing showing a superhero having a mental break or something that might be interesting we were we were interested in hawkeye apparently the new show is about the new hawkeye which is a girl which i have no connection to never read in the comic books i have no idea who the hell she is wasn't in the movies uh don't care about the show but we see this so much with the media nowadays and i just wonder i wonder when i wonder when it will change am i just an old guy i guess an old guy screaming at clouds but i look at this and that's what that's the interesting thing i think about this with the with captain marvel for that whole thing of like it's not it's not made for you right well well it's not made for you okay well then i won't watch it but if you don't watch it you're a misogynist why why won't these white males watch these movies that weren't made for them like wow because you're specifically telling me it's not made for me or like with this you're not telling me it's not made for me but you're going to subvert my expectations instead of having something actually be interesting instead of something be actually shocking and different it's just going to be changing the boy to being a girl right the real important person with the girl i think that would like subverting expectations like ender's game thankfully thankfully i got to read the book ender's game again i had i had no i had no understanding what i was reading the movie wasn't out yet the movie was complete garbage the nice part is i just went into ender's game reading ender's game just as a sci-fi book and i had no idea what the end was and i won't spoil it if you have not read ender's game if you do not know the plot defenders game go out get ender's game read ender's game the final like the final whatever chapter is like what the that subverted my expectations that ender's game if you're reading it just blank clean that is a beautiful subversion of expectation you are not reading the story that you think you're reading and the ramifications so you've been following along for like half the book at this point and half the the ramifications of what happened in the previous half about it is entirely different based off of based off of the subversion that happens at the end right that that was masterful that is amazing changing the hero from being the boy to the girl that's not masterful she's like yeah oh hey oh hey look oh hey remember back in 1999 when wasco whatever when this person was a guy was when they were remember when the directors were white guys and so the space jesus was a white guy and now that they're white girls the space jesus is going to be a white girl oh my god it's a verdi that's subverting my expectation what are you telling me that when you change your gender supply supplies the gender of the real hero changes in the movies shocking shocking so anyways i don't know are you excited about the new matrix movie do you have any interest in the new matrix movie at all i have to say i was like even before i saw this i'm just ragging on the matrix now again this is a misogynist right i'm just ragging because i think it's an interesting thing it's just curious to like watch this but i wasn't actually interested in the matrix at all whether or not i would see this new matrix is a flip of a coin that's what i think about with so many of these new movies like uh because like with shang shi like i haven't seen shang shi nor do i have any interest like i can now rent shang shi so it used to be like with marvel movies so marvel movies i used to watch them go to the theater for like 20 marvel movies i went to the theater for almost all of them um and then it was like okay well i'm not gonna go to theater but i'll rent them uh but then that was the thing the la the last marvel movie i rented was um was black widow and they they said they subverted my my expectations let me tell you scarlett johansson did a masterful job masterful job subverting my expectations i went in to black widow thinking i might see a movie about a powerful sexy fun exciting female superhero and i came out of it having seen a movie about a dour sad grumpy pissed off superhero that doesn't even respect what she actually does that was a weird thing like with blackwood like i don't understand that because i was thinking like when black widow came out again i was in the theater for iron man 2. oh my god the first first time black widow comes out she's doing all this whippy like she's got that thing on she's like i was like oh my god i want to see a movie about this woman and then they had then they had black widow and avengers number two that's like our adventures i was like i want to see a movie about this woman and even in avengers 2 i was like i want to see a movie about this woman and then they they come out with black widow and they completely subverted my expectations they had so many movies of building up black widows a certain type of characters like yeah and again that was the whole thing yes she was sexy or whatever but she could also kick in that was a thing in the leotards or whatever she was sitting there and wiping the floor with big guys right and it didn't and then it was like oh wow because she was actually doing fight moves theoretically there would be a pain that he has to do in the real world but she was doing fight moves that theoretically could work i was like wow that's cool and then what movie do we get we get black widow and that's when i gave up on marvel entirely i haven't seen shannon she don't care haven't seen the turtles don't care might might see spider-man i don't know spider-man actually looks a little bit fun like a little bit fun but if i miss it it right and that's kind of feel like with these movies and so like matrix is coming out it's like hey matrix is coming out are you gonna go see the theater no i don't think it's for me i don't think it's for me i think it's female empowerment or whatever oh you're going to uh you'll see it when it comes out on itunes probably not either so when you gonna see it i don't know whenever i take a transatlantic flight again whenever i'm able to take a transatlantic flight again you know 2025-2026 i'll just i'll just watch it on the plane because you know that's that's how i saw terminator dark fake i think i saw terminator dark fade on the play did i see it on the plane i think i fell asleep that's what i used to do when i fly when i fly transatlantic you just pop up in movies and all these horrible movies like the terminator movies or uh or what was the other one um oh charlie's angels my god that was a god-awful movie thankfully i was flying business class so they gave me a lot of beer so every time charlie's angels got worse i could just be like can i have another beer for me i needed to suffer through this movie so i don't know maybe maybe in 2026 i'm flying back to lisbon for web summit or something i watch matrix so i don't know what do you think about this what do you think what do you think about all this intellectual property again not uh not being sold out it's not sold out right it's not i don't feel like it's a cash i don't feel like these things are cash grabs just this weird this weird thing and all in all hollywood movies nowadays where they've got a again subvert expectations not in cool ways but in ways that make you not want to watch the movies i don't know put your thoughts put your thoughts down below will you watch this do you care i don't care i don't care anyways just remember i'm just here shaking my brain nipples i'm here shaking my brain nipples because what i really care about is dojo derby what i really care about is silicon dojo authority-less gatekeeper list free to the end user tech education that empowers you to do what you want to do um and our product our main product is dojo derby well this is a full tech stack so it's a little robot computer car so this is a raspberry pi raspberry pi 4 quad-core processor four gigs of ram full wi-fi stack full bluetooth stack a whole bunch of different things uh we have this connected to the motors obviously to make this thing move we have an oled screen we have a web camera on it so i can run this thing around we're gonna have lots of different projects and so the idea is that people can build their own and then we can compete so uh so we can have races we can have battles i have to figure out how we can do battles so so basically my concept is here is that we create these things so that we can then start creating like competitions and then people can get together once a month once every couple of weeks go to one of the nice micro brewers around here so the micro brews around here uh one of the cool things is they have lots of big open areas so we can go we can grab a beer we can race or battle bots this is what i actually care about that's why i'm here to shake my brain nipples if you're interested in following along with the dojo derby vehicles right now i am trying to document how to build them so this is this is the actual version so this is uh the version that'll go into production or whatever so this is the dojo derby mark iii so this is the draft of the documentation how to build it so we have all the parts so these these are all the parts and the links for how to get the parts here uh and then uh right now i'm explaining how the code works and what i'm going to do is i'm going to have all the code for you um i'm going ooh burpee burpee i'm going to have all of this um so then you can build your own dojo derby vehicles and then you can come and erase them or whatever or you can create your own little league um i've really really been thinking about like the business model i hate to say business model and think about the organizational model the organizational model for fedojo derby and what i'm really thinking about is be having to be much more like tsr or or warhammer 40 000 games workshop um basically so so so much in the modern world um like again in silicon valley there's this monopolistic mindset there's a tyrant mindset that people have to own it i have to own all of it right so that's what a lot of people think well if you're going to create these dojo derby vehicles you know creating kits and creating and the only way you can do dojo derby is if you go to an official dojo to everything i don't want that that was a great thing about when i was growing up um you know if you went to if you got a dungeons and dragons book you got a dungeon the dragon's book and then you could play dungeons and dragons however you wanted so we could play dunking the dragons we played it during lunch we played it after school you could go different states people were playing dungeons and dragons and everybody did it differently some people had different ways of doing dungeon mastering some people use miniatures some people did not use miniatures you know there's all kinds of different stuff and that's how i kind of think i want to do it with dojo derby is basically i want to be like the tsr or the games workshop for dojo derby where basically we come up with the basic concepts we come up with the outline right so this is this is the standardized vehicle and then we come up with multiple standardized vehicles and we explain how to build them right and then trying to figure out competitions so again that's something to think about like whenever you're gonna do anything right you actually have to figure it out like what does a race look like what does a battle look like what does capture the flag look like like again think about that like just say oh dojo derby you could do capture the flag but again you got to think about it how do you functionally do capture the flag with this thing like sitting there and figuring that out and coming up with a rule book and documented probably online or whatever else and then that way people wherever they're at you can go to amazon you can buy all these parts off of amazon you and your friends can build your own dojo dairy vehicles you can see all the guidance that we have but then you can decide to do whatever the hell you want again for me i'm concerned about liability i am in my 40s i'm in my 40s i have a mortgage liabilities are important to me right and so for me i am not going to attach a flamethrower to my low dojo derby vehicle i'm not going to attach a bb gun to my dojo derby vehicle nor airsoft guns to my dozer dirty vehicle nor flamethrowers to my little dojo derby vehicle that is not going to happen anytime i do dozier derby because i have a mortgage that i've got to pay if somebody goes up in flames that's bad for my mortgage but the cool part is the cool part is if you run this thing around and you understand how to build things you could create your own dojo derby airsoft league or you run these things around little airsoft pellet rifles on it and you could really do battles right but that's a cool thing right like i i want to mentor i want to i want to guide the concept i want to help support the concept but i don't want to own it right again it's a major it's a major difference in my psychology i'd argue gen x psychology versus uh versus the modern one so you folks can go out there and again do whatever the hell you want you want to attach airsoft airsoft guns to these things and literally pull the out of each other hey cool send me the video file that's it don't need to know anything else although remember if you put airsoft always point the airsoft away from you and not towards anybody else or any other animals or anything so that's what i'm thinking about right now all along oh you thought he you thought it was all about him no surprise surprise was all about the girl yeah because i realized once i became a girl that's really about me oh do you remember the days when you just used to have stories do you remember the days when media companies i'm gonna put this out that's a funny thing do you remember when media companies actually tried to sell customers on the story of what they were trying to create hey we are going to create such a cool story you're going to want to buy tickets to whatever else i miss those days now it's all lectures now it's all lectures i don't want to buy a ticket to a lecture i'll be funny if i'm going to buy a ticket to a lecture i'm going to get a lecture on ai anyway see y'all
