welcome to the oscar training video series for law school administrators and applicants this video will walk you through how to manage your positions list in oscar oscar allows you to manage and organize your positions list to easily identify positions that fit your goals and interests this video will cover how to create and apply tags how to organize and sort positions and how to locate position details when you log into oscar as an applicant you will see your redesigned home page let's begin by taking a look at the positions list on the left navigation under positions click all positions this page displays all positions posted in oscar at the top of the page you will find the search positions box which allows you to search for positions using keywords below the search box there are filters to further narrow down your search and the positions list which displays all positions posted in oscar to the right of the positions list you will see system tags and custom tags tags give you another way to filter your positions list system tags are the same for all users and cannot be modified custom tags allow you to create your own tags so you can group positions into categories that you find most helpful using the add tag button you can create a custom tag for example you may want to create a tag called dc circuit once you have a tag name choose a color identifier for that tag and click confirm oscar will add that tag to your custom tags tags can then be added to positions to organize and refine your positions list to add a tag drag and drop the tag onto the position you'd like to add it to oscar will verify that you wish to add the tag click ok the position will now display the selected tag you can use the tags filter above to sort positions by specific tags to apply or remove tags from multiple positions at once or to save positions to an excel spreadsheet you can use the batch options dropdown to do this select the desired positions using the checkboxes then select the batch options drop-down batch options include tag as which allows you to tag positions with a specific system or custom tag remove tab which allows you to remove any tag on your selected positions and save this list to excel which allows you to save this entire list as a downloadable spreadsheet to the right of the batch options is the sort by filter this allows you to sort positions by post date judge staff attorney term start year or court you can also choose how many positions displayed per page the default number is 20. let's look at a position summary view the label next to the judge or circuit's name indicates if a position is available and whether it's a clerkship or staff attorney position the icons to the right of the labels note the judge's application preference options include online email and paper please note that some judges only accept paper applications below the judge's name you will see the position type the position term and which court or circuit the judge or staff attorney office is located if you assign a tag to the position it will be displayed below the position information to the right is a star icon you can click the star next to a position to save it all saved positions can be found in your saved positions tab now let's select the judge or circuit's name to look at a position's full details here you will find the dates that the position is accepting applications an apply online button if the position is accepting online applications if the position is not accepting online applications this option will not be available and the position will display an email or mailing address to use for applying the judge or staff attorney office's profile information the position details which include information like the number of positions a description of the position required documents and educational and post law school experience requirements and the hiring preferences box which displays the judge or staff attorney office's preferred application method and related information this concludes our video on how to manage your positions list in oscar we hope you have learned more about using system and custom tags organizing and sorting positions and locating a physician's full details visit the oscar training page for more videos and resources if you need further assistance please contact the oscar program office at 866-666-2120 or send an email to oscar-support ao.uscourts.gov thank you for watching
